1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 04, 2024, 07:22:23 PM
Girona made Barcelona have to admit that Girona was a strong team that was able to beat them at home and away with the same score. A bit disappointing, but Barcelona fans have to accept reality.
They were happy when Barcelona's first goal was scored after only 3 minutes of the match. For Girona, it didn't take long to score a goal back.

It was only a matter of time before Real Madrid would be crowned La liga champions for 2023/24 season. It was inevitable at some point. Barcelona only made things easier for them by being horrible at time. Madrid are now champions of La Liga for the 34th time, thanks to Girona and with this loss, I think Girona would overtake Barcelona to second position on the league table.

I ashouldy had a feeling that Barcelona would end this match with a result beyond their expectations when observing how Girona played.
For Barcelona, they will only hope that next season will be better.

I doubt next season will be better for Barcelona. If they're not careful they can have it worse than they did this season. With the kind of players Barcelona are going after, I doubt they'll be able to compete at top level next season. I'm my opinion, I think they should have let Xavi go and hired Flick. Even if it was for a short term. Flick would have brought something new to the club.

Frankly, Everton isn't really a bad team, they're just a mediocre, so they can't reach top 5 ranks and at the same time they're not that bad to being relegated.

A series of bad management has led Everton to where they are now. They were never a top table team, neither where they ever a relegation battling team. Everton were mid table teams. At worst they finished 10th. They're usually within the 6th to 10th on the table. In a very good season they can finish 4th. But in recent seasons, they've been very poor.

Ironically, they were relatively better than they were last season, but the point deductions made things very difficult for them.
Despite the point deductions, they're still 10 points away from the relegation zone. They were lucky to see the point deduction reduced from 10 to 6.
Personally, I feel the league wants to make an example of them.

Against Luton tonight, I believe Everton would win but I also believe Luton would score. It should b a win for Everton and both teams to score.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: In order to reach your target, don't rush! on: May 03, 2024, 10:02:27 AM
Let's say that you're selling something online, and you have a supply chain to get the product ready and assembled for you, when all of a sudden, one of the supplies you use is in short stock. Restocking it will be very expensive because its price has gone up, but there is a bigger demand for your products. However, you do know that the price of the supply will go down if you just wait, but you may run out of inventory before then, but you don't know if you will.

Let's say you panic, and make a large order for the supply. Then all of a sudden, for unrelated reasons outside of your control, your sales tank. Now you are stuck with a giant amount of supplies that you can't offload, because product sales have slumped.

This is good advice, I think we should never make decisions out of pressure, every decision and risk we take should be a calculated risk. However, it is often times not this straightforward. With bitcoin holding and trading, it may be, but not in business.
In a business scenario, the profit may not be all you're looking at.
Let's say you have customers that trust and rely on you, you would be letting them down if you don't deliver and things like this can make you lose customers. It might also be an opportunity to get new customers. When you deliver, this might just be the opportunity to turn potential customers into customers.
So yea, you might make a loss, or not get the desired profit, but in business, even though the goal is to make profit, solving a problem for your customer and keeping them happy is the best way to make profit.

In a situation like this you’re definitely sure that the supply price  will reduce In due time but don’t know when and also not knowing the exact time your inventory would drop or finish, as someone who wouldn’t want to lose his customers at this time it is best to simply go in for a little supply that you can bear the risk or wait for the supply price drop leaning to the remain inventory

Exactly my point, make a calculated risk.
Get a small amount of inventory and satisfy your customers, even though you'll bear a small loss, it'll be worth it because satisfying your customers will always bring more customers and businesses your way.
4  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1xbit violated self exclusion terms, do not want to help on: May 02, 2024, 07:25:30 PM
Too many warnings have been made about 1xbit for you to keep using them. The fact it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it's not true. We don't always have to wait till a thing happens to you before you listen. The warnings and red trust were all put there for a reason, what's the point of all the precautions if people won't adhere to them?

By the way, do you have the right to a refund though? I mean, I understand that you asked to be banned, but they refused to, but you still gambled and lost if you had won wouldn't you have taken the winnings and profit? Would you have taken only the 20 mBtc you funded?
1xbit is not reputable, but we also have to look at things from both perspectives.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 02, 2024, 07:03:49 PM
Yea, I will agree to the fact that during the early period of this season, Girona was very excellent in their performance but suddenly everything changed, with their performance this season I will rate them high because it wasn't expected, although it is normal for this kind of praises when a low class team performed beyond expectation

I knew it was going to be difficult for Girona to hold on their excellent form till the end of the season. It's very hard to remain consistent for a full season. That's what separates the big teams from the smaller teams. Even for big teams, it's not every season they remain in good form from the beginning to the end of the season, there may be times when they struggle, the difference is a big team would try to recover in time and fight for every available trophy.
Girona have a lot of reinforcement to do if they're to compete next season. They'll be playing champions league football next season and if they don't work on their squad they won't be able to compete in that competition.

the match between girona and Barcelona will be a win for Barca despite how difficult girona may prove to be in that match it will end in the favour of Barca, it is very obvious that Barcelona is facing hard times but they will not take it lightly with girona, at least girona has made an impact this season and thats very remarkable.

A problem Girona has is their defense. They have a bad defense and they concede too many goals. That could be a weakness against Barcelona. If they can defend well and hit Barcelona on the counter and quick attacks they may stand a chance but if they want to keep playing with a high line and playing from the back while trying to keep possession they'll lose.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 02, 2024, 01:46:24 PM
I disagree, if Tuchel can bring the Champions League's trophy to Bayern Munich, I believe high likely Bayern Munich will extend Tuchel's contract.

Tuchel will leave Bayern whatever the outcome of the champions league. Bayern are already looking for other alternatives to replace him. If they wanted to keep him they would have been trying to convince him stay or trying to offer him another contract. His resignation was an agreement between him and the club, he didn't just decide to leave as Xavi did at Barcelona.
Tuchel has had his problems at Madrid, but he has tried to turn things around. Bayern played very brilliantly against Madrid, they just couldn't make use of their chances and Madrid used the few mistakes they made to punish them.

Bayern Munich won 33x times in the Bundesliga, but they only won 3x times in Champions League, domestic league is just like a cheese burger trophy, it has no value. But whenever Bayern Munich won Champions League, people will praise them as we know Real Madrid is the strongest contender.

The league still has a lot of value to Bayern Munich. Not winning the league this season hurt them. It would be worst if they don't win it next season so they'll do all they can to win it next season.
I agree that the Champions League has more value, but the league is also very valuable to them.
It is no cheese burger trophy. See how good Leverkusen had to be before they could win the trophy, that shows how Bayern has been in previous seasons when they won the league.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: May 02, 2024, 01:26:08 PM
Bayer Leverkusen has something that Liverpool lacked this season: team discipline. Even if the whole team is defeated, they do not give up on the game and fight like gladiators to avoid defeat. I feel like I'm in the arena while watching their match. Bayer Leverkusen matches feel amazing. This situation will undoubtedly continue in the Rome match they will play today. If Roma takes the lead, they should be very careful because they are facing the strongest undefeated team of 2024.

This game is a game I really want to watch because it's going to be a game of constant attack. Both teams are attacking-minded teams so it's going to be fun to watch.
Leverkusen is a very good and resilient team. They never give up like you said, but they concede goals and that means they can be better. Even though they haven't lost a game this season, they can be beaten. I don't believe there's any unbeatable team. It's going to be a very difficult game for Roma, but I believe they can win.

This first leg is Roma's biggest opportunity. The outcome of today's match will determine if they still stand a chance. If they can win today, I don't see how they can win in Germany. However good Bayer Leverkusen are good they're better in their home stadium so that's going to make things very complicated for Roma.
The safer bet is to bet on Leverkusen to win or draw though.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest in Bitcoin because others are investing in Bitcoin on: May 02, 2024, 10:34:52 AM
But if someone buy Bitcoin without learn anything, it's still a good choice if they didn't panic sell and can hold for long term. The biggest mistake that did by Average Joe is sell the coins when it doesn't move like what they expect.

Most times when people buy bitcoin without learning anything, they always regret it and that kind of ruins their bitcoin experience. I agree that people don't need to know all about bitcoin before investing, but everybody needs an idea of what they're investing before they invest, even if it's a good asset to invest in.
Before investing in anything it's good to have a solid idea of what it is. With bitcoin, it may not seem like too much of an issue because bitcoin is good to invest in, but when proper research is not carried out before investing in other assets or project, you'll easily fall into scams and lose money.
Research is very good. It prevents us from a lot of problems.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 01, 2024, 10:55:32 PM
I am not surprised by PSG's defeat today playing at Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund really impressed throughout the match and they proved themselves to be a team that can never be underestimated. Winning home games is a good asset for Dortmund, but they must be aware that PSG can do better at home and force Dortmund to give up.

Signal Iduna is not a comfortable place for opponents. It's a very hostile territory and that is always in the advantage of Dortmund. Atletico Madrid faced a similar situation there, so the yea, PSG loss doesn't surprise me. Plus, PSG is not a spectacular team. They're a good team, but they're not spectacular. I knew they wouldn't be able to get a win today. My bet was a win or draw for Dortmund and when Dortmund scored first, I knew the best result that PSG could get would be a draw.

The second leg would be more interesting. PSG have the advantage of playing at home even though they're already a goal down. I'm expecting to see a match where PSG would use the full force of their wing and constantly press Dortmund. Dortmund shouldn't try to protect their 1 goal lead because I doubt they'll be able to do it for 90 minutes. They should try to get more goals in Paris. PSG's defense is not very good so if they have a go at them they might get a couple of goals too.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 01, 2024, 10:23:38 PM
Sevilla with their last boss weren't able to stay up in performance this season. So unlike the Spanish side, this season they're found below the 10th spot. They've managed to fight up until December where there was a switch in the managerial position and thankfully they were able to experience a good level of improvement in games performances and results.

Sevilla have made some very poor decisions and that is what have led them to this place. They have hired the wrong managers and sold the wrong players, but the bigger reason as to why they're in the situation they are right now is because of La liga and Tebas. La liga makes things very difficult for la liga teams. Somehow, only Madrid doesn't suffer like other teams. It leaves a lot of questions. Some might argue that Madrid is better managed, which might be true, but does that mean Madrid is the only well managed team in La liga? Even Atletico Madrid are suffering.
Teams like Villarreal win an European cup one season and the next season they have to sell some of their big players because they can't keep them.
Something needs to be done or else, la liga would die off. If Barcelona wasn't in the league, la liga would be just like the Bundesliga where one team wins it for 10 straight seasons.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 01, 2024, 08:00:46 PM
Juventus, Roma, and Bologna are the three teams that are fighting for Champions League spot next season, but two of them will actually qualify because Atalanta is also coming and is in good form and can overtake any of them.

I think the people that really have problems not qualifying for the Champions League next season is Roma. They had no chance of qualifying before De Rossi, but now they're in a position where if the season ends now, they'll make it to the UCL.
The Champions League has a new format starting next season and that format will see five Italian teams in the UCL. So that gives Roma an opportunity, but Atalanta are steadily on their ass and if they slip up, they may be overtaken
Roma is 2 points ahead of Atalanta with just 2 points and Atalanta have a game in hand. I'd like Roma to qualify because they have come a long way. Both teams started the season poorly, but they have gained from now and are playing well.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Stagnant Salaries vs. Inflationary Savings Tax on: May 01, 2024, 07:36:01 PM
The first option is always the best option.
Right now, a lot of of young people make more money than their parents made at their age but they can't afford the things their parents could afford back in the day.
Having a stagnant income where price of goods keeps reducing is favourable to the salary earner, even tho it might have negative impact on the economy. It even favours those that save more. Their $1000 savings will be able to afford more things than it could a year ago in this scenario.

In today's world, I don't think there's any country where the prices keep falling. It's either the prices remain constant or the increase at very low percentage increases.
As much as inflation is bad for the economy, deflation is not any better. Deflation in an economy means that economy is stagnated and that has a lot of negative impacts.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: May 01, 2024, 03:35:42 AM
Javier Milei hasn't been able to "abolish" Argentina's central bank because of strong opposition from rival political parties.
I understand that, I know there's no way in hell they'll let him do that, but even if he did, he'd be causing more harm for his economy than good. I like how radical he is, there are some of his views and policies I buy but removing the central bank is not one of them.

Despite BTC's decentralized design, it will never achieve its dreams because governments won't allow it.

I don't think "dream" is the word to use. I may be wrong but I don't believe the goal or dream of Bitcoin is to become the legal tender of the world. No part of its white paper implies that. Bitcoin was made to be an alternative currency. Something can't be an "alternative" if it's the main and globally accepted one.
Bitcoin should just be accepted in every part of the world and people should be able to use it freely at any time. It doesn't need to be legal tender.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the real bull run begin? on: April 30, 2024, 09:08:47 PM
You have said it yourself, that in 2020, bitcoin did not increase immediately after halving. Not only in 2020, you can also track the record of 2012 and 2016 halving. Holders need to be patient because bitcoin can not just start increasing immediately as some impatient people will expect. Bitcoin will still get to many all-time highs.

Funny enough, I get more worried about Bitcoin when it's just rising within a short period. When something like that happens it's usually because of FOMO. Probably because a news or rumor is out and people speculate that Bitcoin will rise. It also shows that there may be manipulation. The bottom line is, the price corrects after a short time. But when Bitcoin climbs up slowly, there is a pretty high chance it will stay that way and be stable like that for a long time.

Bitcoin is at 60k now when most, including me, speculated it would be above 70k by now, but there's no point to be alarmed. Just keep holding and give it more time. But if there are people who feel they can't, they might as well sell.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 30, 2024, 08:16:58 PM
This is good news for Barcelona because the club is definitely not in a financial position to actually buy a striker with qualities like Lewandowski right now. Although he is old he still is one of those dangerous players in front of goal and a key player to any club he plays for at the moment. His hat trick yesterday clearly shows how he is still important to the club and Xavi definitely will need to do with his experience next season

I don't think this is good news. Lewandoski is good and still one of the best strikers but he's old like you say and that's a limitation. Barcelona needs another top striker to give him competition and give him rest. Relying on Lewandoski for the whole of the season is not a very good plan. What makes it worse is that the backup strikers Barcelona have are not reliable and consistent enough.
If they had the funds, I believe they would have gotten another world-class striker to partner with Lewandoski.

Liverpool has to look Into letting Mo Salah leave for the very first time since he joined Liverpool.

I don't buy the idea that Liverpool should let Salah go. They have to be very careful in the choices they make right now. Salah is still the highest goal scorer in Liverpool. He has been their best goal scorer for a very long time now. Letting a player like that go without a replacement can be chaotic. With a new manager coming, he needs all the help he can get. There are players Liverpool should look to offload in the summer but Salah is not one of them.
16  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: what is wrong with Bybit? on: April 30, 2024, 04:06:07 PM
Why do you release escrow if you suspect that someone is scamming you? P2P on CEXs provides you with a Bitcoin address that is completely controlled through the platform. exchange also possesses the account ID data. If you are defrauded, you must learn to avoid it in the future or create a buy or sell request and set your own rules.

Until I know the full details of the story, I'll be bold enough to say the person who was scammed was careless. It should be common knowledge that CEX P2P would be filled by scammers, that is why the platforms make different ways to make sure you're not scammed. If you follow the rules given by the platforms you'll hardly ever be scammed.

Bybit has a 15-minute transaction time and if the coin or the funds have not been transferred the transaction is canceled. When the other party says he has made the payment, you are to check if you've received and even before you release the coin, the platform warns that in no account should you release the coin unless you've confirmed payment and confirmed that the money is the actual amount you're to receive. So except the person was totally nonchalant about these measures, I don't see how he can be scammed.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: April 30, 2024, 03:39:04 PM
So Real Madrid must not underestimate Bayern Munich, they still have to face this match with good preparation and take advantage of Bayern Munich's weaknesses because it is true as you said that Bayern Munich's weakness this season is in defense. But for me, the dream final is Real Madrid vs PSG at Wembley. I also believe that Real Madrid's dream final is wide open, but they have to work hard to reach the final.

Real Madrid is a lot of things, but they're not a team to underrate their opponents in times like this. They don't take any chances when they're at this stage of the competition.
Bayern Munich are no pushovers. They have so much experience too. They know how to win games just like Madrid. Both teams are not teams that dwell on playing beautifully like Barcelona, Arsenal, and Manchester City. No team really has a very obvious upper hand in this tie.

The way I see it, and I've said it before, the match will be decided by which coach is more tactical. Both teams are fighters, both teams are winners, and both teams fight till there's no more air in their lungs, so what would make one team better is the coach and in this regard, Ancellotti has an edge over Tuchel. Ancelotti has a lot of experience Tuchel doesn't have and he has been here more times than Tuchel, but that still doesn't mean Tuchel can't overclass him.
The first round of the match would be in a few hours and I can't wait, but I believe it's a 50/50 match where anybody can win.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: April 30, 2024, 09:54:03 AM
Even Javier Milei didn't abolish the central bank after he became president. I think this issue is being blown out of proportion. Central banks are the center of every economy. There would be no country without a central bank.
Central banks of the world may not be perfect but they have a role they play. No country would be without it's fiat currency, and it's the central banks that provide that.

Aside providing fiat for the country, the central bank also has major roles it plays like overseeing the monetary policy of the country, setting interest rates, and managing the Federal Reserve to name a few.
Central banks are too important to the system of a country for it to be abolished.
What we can do is make sure they're more efficient and not try to eradicate them entirely. We live in a centralized world, and a centralized world is run by centralized institutions, that's why I believe fiat and central banks will always be a thing.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 29, 2024, 10:41:48 PM
Aston Villa basically already managed to do that. Not that it was an unimportant game for Aston Villa, they basically managed to keep their position safe thanks to this, but at the same time, we are talking about a team that destroyed Arsenal's chance to win the league. Thanks to that game City got the advantage and even though Arsenal is still leading the league, that is only because City has one game missing and when they win that game they will get ahead for sure.

Most times, Unai Emery's tactical masterclass goes under the radar. He is a top manager and one of the best out there. He's just not consistent enough to handle a big team.
He won Arsenal home and away this season, but it was the way he approached the second leg that I found more interesting.
Aston Villa managed to keep Arsenal who are a free-scoring team from scoring any goal. What made it even more fascinating was Aston Villa scoring Arsenal two goals. A team that's set up in such a way that they don't concede so many goals.

It's one thing to score Arsenal 2 goals, it's another thing to keep a clean sheet at the Emirates against Arsenal. That's a pretty impressive work from Emery and his team.
As you said, Arsenal lost the league that day because I don't see Manchester City dropping any point from their remaining 4 games. They'll win every game they play till the end of the season.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don’t like the term “crypto” on: April 29, 2024, 09:53:58 PM
four terms you need to know if you want to be taken even slightly seriously

bitcoin = bitcoin
crypto = bitcoin + altcoins
coin = has its own blockchain
token = rides on another blockchain

It's actually this simple.
I don't think there's any point in reading too much meaning into it. Whoever believes or thinks the term Crypto interprets as a scam is just naive or not familiar with cryptocurrencies at all.
"Crypto" is just a short form of "cryptocurrency", and we all agree that bitcoin is a cryptocurrency so that makes bitcoin a crypto (even tho I do not use that term when referring to bitcoin).

It's like saying you don't like the term "fiat", so you're not going to call the dollar a fiat.
It's okay not to like it, but that doesn't stop it from being a fiat currency.
