5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 03, 2013, 02:36:35 PM
me and my fiat are taking a break this weekend. I think maybe it's not dissapearing into coins but it's just off the order book. I have no idea what to bid at the moment.

I just put lots of bids from $75 down to $10. Whatever the bottom is I'll catch a good chunk of it.

what is the best strategy for doing this?

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / are ripple gateways able to be ddosed? on: April 30, 2013, 09:42:02 PM
ripple gateways. as i understand it, these are basically just exchanges that work very strictly with the ripple protocol, rather than loosely like bitcoin exchanges presently do. that said, it is unclear to me if they will have their own web interfaces, etc.

can they still be ddosed? will their ip addresses be known (does ripple expose ips in the protocol somehow)? if so, can you ddos something with simple pings, for example?
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Talk Bitcoin! Is Looking for Community Reps for the Bitcoin Roundtable on: April 28, 2013, 08:27:14 PM
it was like reading the bitcontalk forums before, a lot of enthusiasm, not very informed.

now you have guests and even co-hosts who really seem to know their stuff!

night and day, honestly. well done!
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how do ripple's "issuers" work for currency exchange? on: April 28, 2013, 08:16:22 PM
i only see 'amount' and 'grant trust'  in advanced > trust after i enter the bitstamp address... ?
