ive noticed the wallet version 1.9.5.2 is no longer available on cloakcoin.com maybe you might know why ? ive received a stake generated but not accepted 0 out of 4 confirmations? I have the wallet 1.9.5.2 This is the PoS issue everyone is talking about here. Just restore your wallet backup and make sure you aren't forked. I'm having the same problem. |

never found it easier to hold. really quite remarkable. a coin that hits new highs during an unresolved fork? that says something about the crew.
Yeah this coin is so resilient during crisis as to actually increase in value, it's either dramatically undervalued or all current holders - myself included - are deeply delusional. |

I continue to mint forks. Every time I've been staking in the last 3 days I generate a fork and 0 legitimate stakes. I thought the forking issue was done with?

What's important right now is to address the PoS flaw and blockchain issues so we can release PoSA patch.
IMO smart move is to reveal vulnerability after fixing it so other PoS coins take a hit but I think these devs have too much integrity LOL.
That wouldn't be nice at all, in fact that would just cause a big mess with other coins and exchanges. I think PMing only the coins that deserve to know the flaw and how to fix would be the best idea. Once they are all fixed, release it to the public and see all the shit scamming coins fall to their death. OR just release to the public and let them deal with it. I think if Cloak devs help other coins they should be rewarded for their efforts like other communities donating for their hard work. release it to the public, or don't do it all. I say don't do it at all. The goal is to make CLOAK a market leader. You don't achieve that by sharing secrets with the enemy. There is reason why some coins are choosing to make certain parts of their tech closed source. We are in a very competitive space and it wouldn't be fair to CLOAK investors if the devs gave away an edge to competitors. I agree. |

how do check the block chain for wallet deposits?
TXID, sending wallet public key, receiving wallet public key.. any of those should work. cryptsy hasn't created txid and what website shouldi useto viewthe transaction |

Update:
As you can see by the block explorer, the increasing network hash and PoS difficulty; the recent issues, where only a "handful of wallets" were staking, is now under control.
Network weight is rising as the CLOAK team and select wallets are now staking to increase the network stability.
After extensive testing we believe we may have uncovered an underlying flaw that can affect the vast majority of PoS coins and for that reason and until we issue a patch in the next update, for the security of this coin and respect for other coins, we will refrain from making "the vulnerability" public knowledge.
Because of the time spent by the team working out what had gone on, we're delayed with PoSA by at least a few days as a patch is needed.
It's worth considering that this discovery can contribute towards the stability and security of not just our coin but many others. Does this mean that other than select wallets, the majority will be unable to stake for the time being? |

Can someone explain staking?
So if I have 100 coins, every 6 hours, I get 6% more indefinitely?
6% annually I believe, plus transaction fees? Am I right about the transaction fees? So each day you age is 6%/365 coins? yes. (coins * .06)/365 gives aproximate Is it 6% compounding or nominal? I guess it depends. I think you'd have to re-stake your gained interest. I don't think your stake interest goes back into your staked balance. I think it is compounded, after all the stake dynamically updates and is only a portion of the balance unless I'm mistaken. Why wouldn't it use the coins earned via interest as part of the stake/balance rotation? |

Hello, early adopter here - but I just registered. I've been trying to stake with address: http://cloak.blockexplorer.cc/address/CDJ6Cb3S58rRKRPy8n16LExTi8i2bjz8cJI've been generating forks for the past two days, I "mine/stake" about 10 abandoned transactions worth, some hitting as many as 10 confirmations before the fork is abandoned and I reconfigure my wallet. My symptoms are very similar to the wallet yesterday whom the devs wanted attention from, the 33k coins. I'm sitting on 38k coins, and my network weight like everyone else is way out of whack. Should I stop trying to stake? Am I causing more problems by trying? I want to contribute to network security and I assumed staking would be the answer. |
