Given there is now a mandatory user agreement that allows microsoft and the US government to legally snoop on you're computer use without a warrant, I will be staying well away from the latest microsoft products.
Paying daily for the privilege is just obscene  Wink

Of course, installing the latest updates for 7 means you're agreeing to the same snoopers charter. A search with miss google should point you at how to remove the spyware......

As for 8 and 10, for the life of me I can't fathom who would wan't there desktop to look like their 'phone! Saying that, been in the industry since before Gates started, was even microsoft certified at one time, watched him hold back progress ever since  Roll Eyes

<-- Disclaimer here  Grin

Gates helped push computing into schools (look what Jobs wanted at that time on a per system basis from schools). The slouch in MSFT was been Ballmer ran the company headless and let AAPL decide that 4 year old hardware with rounded edges was innovative.  The only thing "different" about AAPL now it the 25 different connectors they use - Firewire, Thunderbolt, Lightning proprietary charging cables (because a micro USB wasn't hipster enough) - they've become the new Sony  Cheesy

Apparrently Bitcoin and all virtual cuirrencies will be banned in Europe:
http://securityaffairs.co/wordpress/42111/intelligence/eu-plan-ban-bitcoin.html

That's far fetched nonsense. Why would they ban one of the rare payment options that can be tracked all the way to block it is generated from.
I don't believe for a second that ban will ever happen, but then again, the world is being ruled by morons..

Yes.  Yes it is : http://www.coindesk.com/us-senator-bitcoin-ban-letter-federal-regulators/

I live in CA - I'm afraid to even look at the cretins casting votes - scares me to know what is coming.

This news report brought to you by HSBC, silently financing tomorrows criminal enterprises in Mexico, Russia, Iran....
27  Economy / Economics / Re: Federal Reserve Bank of America has announced an Emergency Meeting on Monday on: November 22, 2015, 11:50:19 AM
negative interest.

The US economy is going quite well now, do they really need negative interest to maintain the ~1,5-2% growth they had last few semesters ?

It's technically illegal to have negative interest, but they sure as hell can charge insane fees to end up with the same effect.

If the US economy is doing well then Timothy Geitner is one honest tax paying fellow  Roll Eyes
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $500 during november? on: November 22, 2015, 11:46:40 AM
If we climb above $400 again the sells walls will pile on so fast...
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 22, 2015, 11:45:05 AM
Somebody will slip it under $300 again and then it will be a race to $283, and then to $235 again.  Xmas is coming.

31  Other / Off-topic / Re: [POLL] Do you wash your hands after you go the the bathroom ? on: November 22, 2015, 11:41:37 AM
Just as important as washing your hands is also not sticking them into your mucosal membranes - no touching eyes, nose, mouth.
32  Other / Off-topic / Re: Windows 10 marks the end of "pay once, use forever" software on: November 22, 2015, 11:40:11 AM
Not if enough of us just refuse to pay for Windows 10 in the first place and switch to Linux or Mac.

Isn't that like running away from a bicycle to end up getting hit by a train  Cheesy

i love my train (gentoo and qubes)
try to beat me with a bicycle ;-)

(though your example is not good... with linux i can go where no windows has ever been [eg filesystem snapshots, working deinstallations, good looking ui and so on] ;-)

It took me 15 years to relinquish my command prompt when I dropped Win 95 and went to xp (having started with Apple Basic and MS DOS and 300 baud modems).  Now I'm supposed to go back to command line again - sorry but this old dog refuses to learn new tricks. Bring on the holoscreens from Minority Report.

For pure work yes Linux/Unix is better but I still think Windows is has it for eye candy.  Good luck trying to get a 9 screen setup elsewhere. Mac can do it as long as you sell a kidney.... or 2.

Smart shoppers know BF is only slightly better than most other times of the year.  It's a great time for retailers to dump excess crap inventory in hopes consumers would be scared off by insane return lines and horrible return policies to just keep from returning junk.

By the logic of the review, it seems they artificially open the retina which will eventually have you blind.

Do not use any product that is not prescribed to you by a medical doctor or FDA approved.

open the retina?  What kind of anatomy are you looking at?  Perhaps open the iris or sensitize the macula.
36  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is an altcoin. The first one ever on: November 22, 2015, 11:26:50 AM
Disagree it is not an alternate coin.
It is the original coin that started it all.
BTC
The original coin was the "testnet" bitcoin. Smiley

Then technically something like that gold coin way back when was the first.

Yep! That was in the late 90s tho, not sure how many people know about it.
I wanted to point that out, but wouldn't make sense to some people.

I don't remember how that network was distributed though.  Either way that guy went to jail for pissing off Uncle Sam.
37  Other / Off-topic / Re: Chinese Government trolling the forums hard on: November 22, 2015, 11:25:13 AM
I think I seen one of these trolls before.  There is this little elf looking thing that keeps moving around my house at night.  Could this be one of the Chinese Trolls in which we are speaking?  I am sorry this makes no sense, please elaborate more.
H is saying there are members that are lurking on these forums to try and undermine and manipulate the price and they happen to be chinese.

So it has changed hands from BFL trolling to the Chinese then?

Alien life is most likely out there, sentient life too.  Stuff that has visited us, maybe not.
