1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What happens to altcoins ? on: May 27, 2023, 02:50:46 AM

Well, I bought some fractions of Bitcoin at the price of $30K, ETH at $2,100 but unfortunately they have been going downward since then. The bearish trend in the whole market is still prevailing, which greatly impacts on coin prices. Despite the bear market, Bitcoin is still holding on its ground with its price not fluctuating over the top. However, the altcoins are becoming more volatile than before and I begin to doubt whether investing in altcoins is a wise choice. Did you invest in altcoins ? What do you think of the current altcoin market ? Please let me know.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH the King of Altcoins ? on: May 25, 2023, 07:36:54 AM
ETH is indeed the king of Altcoins and BTC is the king of Coin / Altcoin. For ETH itself Investors have never had any doubts about ETH even though its value is currently declining and that is reasonable in my opinion because it follows developments in market values. This is not a problem that means eth holders because they know the performance and potential behind this Vitalik coin will definitely rebound and ATH will return.
everything will be the same as what you said, that it must be admitted that until now eth is still the best for altcoins, and always gets its portion, even though there are many good altcoins, all investors still hope for eth until now. it seems very difficult and irreplaceable, although maybe BNB could very well become eth's rival in the future. if bitcoin improves, then you can be sure that all the best altcoins will also follow and it's not unusual and so far it has been like this, when bitcoin reaches ATH it will also be followed by the best altcoins.

I am interested in your statement saying that BNB will be ETH's Rival. My view is still very far. BNB's younger brother, Eth, is unlikely to quickly overtake ETH's position as the King of Altcoins, even though it has a large number of users. Investors are now very proficient in determining their long-term investments. The choice is exactly the king of coins and the king of altcoins.

Agreed. Although BNB is becoming ETH's potential rival but still has a long way to go. In terms of contribution to the whole industry, ETH is the indisputable winner over BNB. Investors are far more cautious than we expect and that's why Bitcoin and ETH have remained on top for so many years. The king of coins and the king of altcoins are indeed the crowns they deserve. I don't see any change any time soon.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: May 22, 2023, 02:11:52 AM
~

Indeed. Your point is an excellent example of life-work balance. Saving is a beneficial habit for anyone, especially for those with a long term goal. We work to live and work for life, not vice versa. Sometimes we need to make choices over making less money/working less hours for spending more time with family or simply for yourself. Nowadays not many people can calm down and rethink about life and our most valuable time. I have always been a hard worker but known this clearly that life is larger than work.

You'll missed your child getting bigger which is true because of we keep chasing the money we forgot to have time in our family but again we do the hardwork for our family we work hard just to make their life comfortable even we keep sacrificing our time for them. Even my self if i do have a high salary right now i prefer to be with my family but the opportunity is not possible because i need to do a side hustle just to give them what they want but even i work hard it is still not enough. We really need to sacrifice things even we dont want to as we prefer struggling than they are struggling

I think it's not that simple as that. Being occupied by work all the time, making money so that your kid "won't be struggling", while he/she is growing up without you around, it's not good. You have to find a "life-work balance", as @FireDAOJackie_Z says. It's not easy to do, but it's very important to not ignore lest you end up with spoiled rich kid in the end.

Agreed. To find a life-work balance is hard but worth all efforts. The more important thing is that in the pursuit of balance, we have set a great role model to our kids. Parents are always children’s “heroes” and if we do nothing positive in life, they will be more likely to be less disciplined and live a miserable life. Nowadays kids are way easy to be spoiled and we, as parents, should both provide a good financial support, more time with kids, and draw a line not to spoil them for the sake of their healthy growth. It’s a difficult task as well but we should do it. No matter what.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next bull market comes in June on: May 22, 2023, 01:39:53 AM
Thats kinda hard to predict when the bull market will comes.
Living my first bear market is actually teaching me to take profits in the best bull market without thinking "I'll wait for the bull run ATH".
I will probably begin to sell my fractions of BTC and ETH when they will reach the previous ATH.

Your comment is simple but reveals a great rule to follow: don’t be greedy and set a goal to sell when the price fulfills your expectations. I also have BTC and ETH in my portfolio and plan to sell the fractions whenever the prices reach the previous ATH or even a bit lower. It’ll never be too cautious.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: May 16, 2023, 03:58:51 AM
If the OP could pull it off as per the title of this thread, and have a decent job that pays well worth it. then do it, at least it's better than you wasting it. let's reflect for a moment, around us, there are many people who are not well off. even to meet their standard of living, they have to look for additional work. since post-covid, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, its impact on the economy has been felt in all sectors. it's hard to find a job, even if there is one, the salary we get is below the minimum wage.
In other parts of the world, there are still many hungry people. don't save, just to get food today, it's very difficult for those who are lacking. so, share those of you who still have decent jobs.

If saving is good for you, then do it. but before that, you must have a plan and know what you are saving for. at least, you have a goal to save. By the way, in life, sometimes things come unexpectedly. good and bad in life, is a cyclical process that everyone can experience.

Yes, and during those "bad times" you might need what you've saved, no doubt about it. But even if you'll never need to spend those saved money, it's a good habit to not spend all you earn at once. Realizing that you can actually live with smaller amount makes you less dependent on your current salary, and one day you may consider moving for a less paying job but less exhausting too. We need that move sometimes to have more time to spend with our family, to learn new things etc.

Indeed. Your point is an excellent example of life-work balance. Saving is a beneficial habit for anyone, especially for those with a long term goal. We work to live and work for life, not vice versa. Sometimes we need to make choices over making less money/working less hours for spending more time with family or simply for yourself. 6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next bull market comes in June on: May 16, 2023, 03:03:54 AM

The market is truly going south these days as we can see. Am I still positive about the market trend in June ? More or less. If the whole market does not get any better in June, I tend to be more conservative as I have also invested in Bitcoin and other altcoins and I don’t want to lose more money. The world economy is still in recession in general and I can’t see any good sign coming any time soon. Hope crypto industry is an exception.

The chance for bitcoin to surpass 30k is still there but im not sure if bitcoin will able to surpass it even higher than before. Crypto is always following the economic condition in the global market. People are willing to invest their money if they can get it easily in the real life.

That means as long as the economic is still good and the chance for bitcoin to break 30k is still there. Crypto industry will not be an exception.
the development of bitcoin indeed has more or less influence from the development of the world economy, I think to penetrate $ 30k is not difficult from the current position, but when that will happen, no one can say for sure, most of their predictions want to cause fomo so that it results in a psychological attack to buy bitcoins. but of course you can't be sure when it will happen sooner or later, therefore we have to be patient to wait for our target, even though it may not be in June, but it will definitely be achieved

To be honest, I am sort of tired of the price fluctuations and spend less time focusing on the market now. What's done is done. The coins that I have bought are losing value and I neither regret the buy-in nor intend to sell them out. It's a wise decision if I choose to stay cool and hold the coins until the next bull market comes. Now the world economy is going downturn and every country or each of us is experiencing economic turmoil. How can we deal with that ? Be cautious about any investment and try to save more while we are still employed. Be prepared for any hardship that may come in the days ahead.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the signs of the next bull market for cryptocurrencies ? on: May 13, 2023, 02:08:01 AM
I predict the next wave will start from next year, this year it only goes up and down significantly, and next year it will start to slowly go up.
but if you want to accommodate buying, you can pay in installments from now on.
Many people can't wait for it but just like the previous years, the bull season comes when halving is coming and that was next year. So, we gonna expect a continuous price increase this year but never we expect we see the new ATH high. If we are planning to invest in crypto, we should not wait for the halving instead, have to do it now and accumulate for coins as possible in anticipation of the price rally. However, we should not also forget to stick to our limation and much sure that everything is planned well. Mistakes and regrets come next if we fail to follow our plan.
If people wait for the halving, they would not be able to make a profit out of it, it would not make any sense. If they want to make a profit then they need to buy right now and wait until the halving because we will go up before halving and waiting until it's over would be a mistake.

I personally started buying during bear period, and still buying today, and will keep buying until halving. After that I will make my decision based on where it is going, and if it goes too high then I will stop buying and wait for it to keep going high, until eventually it will crash again one day and I will keep buying after that. It would make sense to actually make a big difference, it's just not going to work like this for the time being, it needs to be a lot different.

You kept saying when to buy in at different times but never mentioned when to sell out. If you don’t sell, all profits you were talking about are just on paper. I was wondering when you are going to sell to get real profit in hands. Please let me know.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next bull market comes in June on: May 13, 2023, 01:29:05 AM
The price increasing really shows that the market is alive. The main thing is that there are no sharp fluctuations. Otherwise, there will be a significant quantity of insecurities that could turn the bullish trend into a complete dump. And this is all from inexperience and disbelief in the crypto.

The dump still remain unpredictable. The fear in the speculation market is just a common thing for now. I guess that many people aware about the consequence when dealing with the market. The market can sometime turn to be bullish or bearish. It's all depend on the situation that happened in the market. I think that if people aware about how volatile the market is. For people who known the market properly will not take fluctuation in the market as a problem. Newbies who don't know anything about the speculation market are trashing it.
Perhaps, they should know in the first place and must not leave confidence with the passive growth and think about the easy bull market. As the topic says it will happen next month (June) is likely impossible. The market trend still moving in sideways, it ups today but then it drops after a few days. And this is not an indication that we are heading to a bull market, but it was indeed a normal market event. It was really hard to assume that everything went well in the coming days, yes, we actually never know as it can be changed anytime for any reason.

The market is truly going south these days as we can see. Am I still positive about the market trend in June ? More or less. 9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the altcoin holders hang on until the bull run comes ? on: May 08, 2023, 07:38:16 AM

I believe everyone on this forum has made both good and bad decisions in terms of investing in altcoins. I recently made a mistake buying a lot of Dogecoins after Elon Musk changed the Twitter logo into the Doge logo. Price was surging and due to FOMO, I bought a lot at the price of $0.099 and afterwards it started to dump like hell. If I continue to hold Dogecoins, the price might be dumping even lower but if I sell them now, the losses become concrete and I'll never have a chance to win back. Have you ever had the same experience ? What did/would you do ? Please share your opinions. By the way, I am with FireDAO team, in charge of the global community. Please contact me if you have any inquiry.
investment coin memes need a lot of patience but i think you choose the right coin meme coin doge coin coin meme coin meme is one of the good coin memes for investment compared to other coin memes though not all of them support you but your steps are right and don't back down don't be easy provoked by others because later when the price of Doge Coin goes up to the moon you will feel. they are just spectators, I'm sure you already understand about the investment risks that still exist and we have to live with them.

Yes, now I understand the investment risks and try to live with them. The price fluctuation of Doge coin does not bother me now because I don’t care about that any more. All I do now is just wait for the next bull run, which I believe will come soon or later next year. I have no idea if this mindset is good enough for investment but it is the best option I can make for now.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HK envisions a positive outlook for cryptos, especially altcoins ? on: May 03, 2023, 03:52:46 AM
If at least one of those countries gave favorable signals that will be a reason for the market to pump, but while both of them want to use bitcoin to their advantage both of them also hate the freedoms people can get through it, which is why both seem to be so indecisive about it and their policies keep changing, however it would not surprise me if this was also nothing more but another scheme by the Chinese government so a few months later they can once again change their posture and create more FUD to try to bring this market down.

Most governments are joining the crypto/Blockchain train because of the taxation benefits. Not because they want people to achieve true financial freedom. The latest series of events tied to crypto mixers and privacy coins alike tells us how mainstream governments (especially the US) are against people's financial freedom. I think that's exactly what China will be doing through Hong Kong in the long run. It will "embrace" crypto/Blockchain tech to attract investors, but the government won't let people use decentralized cryptocurrencies at their full extent.

There's no need to be surprised about this, especially when China is a communist country. Communism = more power for the government and less freedom/rights for individuals. Let's see if China's move will trigger Russia to do the same in the future. Who needs the approval of governments for crypto to survive anyways? Just my thoughts Grin

Well, I guess governments are merely a symbol to represent the force to restrain the individual freedom, not the roots. Any monopoly, financial institutions, can become the powerful force to be against individual freedom, especially the financial freedom. On the other hand, not all restrain can only do harm to individual freedom because investors are only prone to make profits while ignoring all rules and regulation. Certain control/regulation from either governments or regulatory bodies is necessary for crypto market's healthy development.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment involves being realistic, doesn't it ? on: May 03, 2023, 03:27:36 AM
That depends on your plan and just like what @ANSEL_2.0 have mentioned, it doesn't really matter if there will be some small rally or slight pumps in the prices if you're holding it for a long-term but if it's just a short term, then taking profits during those pumps will be a good idea because there will be some corrections that will happen along the road. But in my perspective, I'm not really into taking profits in my bitcoin portfolio because I'm holding it for a long-term whereas for my altcoins, surely I will take advantage of the pump.
Well said, those who are long term bitcoin holder they will never did sell their bitcoin for this kind of market pumping and the main cause for it is their strategy. But these pump can help to short-term trader  even then many of them get in to bull-trap. I also niw observing the whole situation of market because that cause. But if price goes ups like this then any fornat can make investment with their dca on bitcoin but not selling.

Real investors remain calm despite the troubling situation of the market and they are very certain about their plan which is somewhat different from short-term holders or those investors who just come when the market is bullish. Their goal is very clear and that is to hold for many years as they believe that Bitcoin is a promising investment and would give them a profitable output as well.
But this is a different approach when talking about altcoins as we need to become vigilant of their movement. It is too risky for long-term holders but this is eventually good for short-term investors.

Even your generalization is quite true, the thing is most investors don't know the best timing to buy in and sell out. Anything in general is too vague for any wise decision and I believe, the only practical way to make the right decision is to learn lessons from multiple failure and execute plans that involve no emotion.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH the King of Altcoins ? on: April 28, 2023, 01:55:36 AM
When it comes to altcoins, ETH is King, no doubt about that.
I see so many people talking about the fact that give it time, other altcoins are going to dethrone ETH, well, that is what they have been saying, but yet, eth still stands out from amongst them all.
although it must be admitted that there are also quite good and very good altcoins such as BNB which have made a surprise when they reached their last ATH very well, but have not been able to match ethereum. I agree with you my friend that for altcoins until now ethereum still plays a role or is called the king of altcoins. either later maybe someone is trying to replace it but until now there is still nothing.

Agreed. ETH is doing well compared with other altcoins and still leads way ahead. For example, I bought in ETH when the price was high at $2.1K and afterwards it declined gradually. I did not panic and knew it would be fine if I chose to hold them instead of selling. As of now, the price is $1.9K and I am sure it will pump to ATH when the bull run comes. In contrast, the other altcoins/memecoins I bought weeks ago are going through a hard time and there is no sign that they will recover as soon as ETH. Faith in ETH.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next bull market comes in June on: April 28, 2023, 01:46:49 AM
I think that there will be no growth in June and, in principle, there was no active growth in other months, at this current time there is practically no growth, you don’t even know what to invest in to earn money, it’s not 2017 that you could invest different coins and on this could make a lot of money

Are you for real? there is no active growth in other months? btc was as low as 15k few months back and it has rose to 29k as we speak, and you don't seem to consider this as growth?
I can see your definition of growth is only when the market is on full bull period. If you where an investor who buy btc at 15k and can sell today at 29k you will appreciate and have a different opinion. I think btc has done fairly well this past few month. The market always have a way of surprising us so don't rule the possibility of seeing more growth in the coming months out.
Don't get hard of it because not all here are able to understand the market and appreciate every pump because what is in their mind when talking about bull market is when the price of Bitcoin reach the new ATH. And that person seems not to look at the chart and the previous market events, what they just know yesterday and today, then speculating that tomorrow and the coming weeks/months will just be the same scenario.
I know that most of us are too optimistic about the future and today's price seems an indication that we are heading close to bullish season.

Very true. Not everyone can understand and appreciate the market pump, which we don't have to hold hard feelings on. In my view, every pump in the market, especially when it is in bear market, brings positive forces and makes many people optimistic about the future. In other word, market pump is the driving force to make the financial zero-sum game continue. My speculation of bull market in June will be true or not ? It does not matter in general but only matters for those who believe this. Take me as an example, I have prepared my portfolio for a bull run starting June and there is nothing wrong for me, although things may turn out differently for others.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next bull market comes in June on: April 27, 2023, 01:58:36 AM
No one can accurately predict when the bearish phase will end and the bullrun will come. Although recently the market has started to improve but it is very difficult to say if in June a bullrun will come. Moreover, the market correction so far is still happening where the bitcoin price, which had previously risen above $ 30k but did not last long, fell again to the $ 27k area. Therefore, let's see how far the market will go until the end of this year.
Bullish phase has been in place since December 2022 when BTC ended its decline to $15K (IMO). Currently, the increase has reached 100% from November 2022. This means that the Bullish phase is underway. However, if what is meant by a bullish phase for new ATH, this may not yet take place, because generally bullish new ATH occurs after halving, maybe between late 2024 or early 2025. why do I say we are already in a bullish phase, in the last 4 months, BTC already showing an increase.

I tend to agree with you. The Bitcoin price has doubled since last November and continues to increase despite occasional corrections. Your prediction of bullish new ATH between late 2024 or early 2025 is reasonable although there are no statistics to back up. Personally I think I might have bought Bitcoin too late, at price high $30K. If I could buy some in last November, chances are that I will be selling partially for profit as of now. Anyway, facts are facts and I am confident to hold until I make profit.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment involves being realistic, doesn't it ? on: April 25, 2023, 06:59:13 AM
(-snip-)for those short-term players, they would definitely have sold a lot of them when they reached a relative high and if the prices continue to drop, they will probably buy a lot and wait for the next ATH. Too realistic, huh ? Yes. I have come to understand that no matter how you seem to be loyal to one particular cryptocurrency, as long as there seems to be a huge profit, you will sell to gain profit instead of holding a pipe dream. I have no judgement here and try to tell the truth. Personally, if I had that chance to cash for profits, I would do the same. What about you ?
Whether short-term or long-term, what each of us has learned from the market to give perspectives on it. It is possible to achieve the desired profit, but it can also be loss and dissatisfaction. Really I only see a vague opinion from you and it is not realistic for this crowd of market participants, people come for the news and FOMO accordingly, if they are patient enough they will continue to stay and accompany with market developments, or also a lot of individuals who like to rotate their cash flow with different investment markets. So just experiment and follow what you learn, don't be too sure that it's always like that or not.

"So just experiment and follow what you learn", thanks for this part and this is what I have been doing. "Don't be too sure that it's always like that or not"  On the contrary, it may sound sure but actually I am always not sure. Things are changing so fast nowadays and I am always open to the new. Please correct me or show me your thoughts any time you want. You are welcomed.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH the King of Altcoins ? on: April 25, 2023, 02:38:59 AM
Maybe ETH is the best altcoin right now because of its use cases, trading volume and market capitalization. But before ETH got into that, it was overtaken by XRP a few times. For now, this is the most likely altcoin that is worth to DCA other than Bitcoin. However, it does not guarantee that ETH will be the best for long.

And speaking of that, I did DCA some ETH back then when it was still hovering around $1k or more that time but eventually because of my ignorance and not transferring it to my hardware wallet, it ended up got hacked last month in my Metamask without having any clue at all.

I’ll just wait again for a pullback before starting to DCA some ETH again but it’ll be in my hardware wallet this time around.

XRP doesn't have smart contracts, and it's not as widely accepted as ETH for the payment of goods and/or services. ETH is like a "multi-purpose Blockchain" where you can do far more than just finance. Besides, it was the first platform to bring the concept of Web 3.0 to the world. I guess that's what makes ETH the "King of Altcoins" these days.

Not even alternative chains with cheaper fees and faster confirmation times have been able to take ETH's position on the market. Taking it down, would be no different than taking BTC down which is the "Father of Cryptocurrency". The world's second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap (ETH) has been going strong since day one, so it's likely it will last a lifetime. I'd recommend you buy and hold ETH, as the best is yet to come. Just my thoughts Grin

Your points are great but speaking of buying and holding ETH, I bought some when the price went high as $2.1K but afterwards price has been declining to $1.8K as of now. Well, I know one day the price will surely rise again but seeing that I bought at such high price, I still feel bad somehow. On the other hand, learning to deal with the unpredictable market is a long process and it is good to better my understanding and ability every day.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next bull market comes in June on: April 25, 2023, 02:20:49 AM
We still can't be sure about that. What is meant by bullish in general or as usual where the price goes through a rising up period and then there will be another high correction. But what is certain is that when June comes, it should indeed pass through a better market, so crypto prices will tend to be higher. Later, when it is already bullish, various FUD will be hit, which then there will always be a market correction, which probably will always be there.
Perhaps, it was just a sort of market assumption and of course, it was hard to believe when the market is volatile and unpredictable.
Because whether the market turns bullish or not this year, we're still here to accept and continue our doing. And I say that we don't have to be excited about the future, all good things come momentarily and so we have to just wait for it. But of course, we don't just simply think that it all comes straight forward as the dump is possibly happen as well along the way.

That's true. A lot of unexpected things will happen in the future and even the bull run does not come soon, a great pump and dump may come hand in hand. I am not saying we should be excited about the future but only we should be positive and make certain preparation accordingly. Positive investment result is quite a mix of timing, luck and decisiveness. Market confidence is a scarce power that can change everything. Through the economic winter triggered by COVID-19,  our confidence should be restored gradually. I firmly believe that we are in great progress.

...if a token is new, it's better to avoid it, but if it's old, a bit of research before the investment should do well.

No, no, and no again. Why is there such a common misconception in the community that new tokens should be avoided? Why? Where does this misconception come from? Do you realize that you're setting yourself up to wait for the token to make a major profit, to grow a hundredfold, and that will look like a signal to you that it's time to get in there? Really? Have you ever seen big investors or funds do that? When you buy yourself a shirt in a store, do you also look not for new shirts, but for ones that have been worn for a few years so you can definitely buy that particular shirt? Once upon a time, coins like ETH, BNB, DOGE were new too, and all those who maintained the same mindset as you did deprived themselves of the opportunity to change their lives in a cool way for the better.

Agreed. Trying to avoid new tokens is actually killing the meaning of investment. Why would the perfect thing happen to everyone if there is something that involves lower risk and higher return ? When Bitcoin came out more than a decade ago, even the buyers at the time would not think anything huge at the time, probably they just randomly found this name was fun and threw a dozen bucks to buy in. The only question about new tokens is how to make optimal choices within reasonable research or critical thinking.
