1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 12, 2024, 04:14:20 PM
No bad feelings for Arsenal as Trossad has scored an easy goal with a clean finish to put his club on the lead. The goal was scored on the 20th minutes

M.United 0-1
It was truly a beautiful goal from Trossad, a typical defensive error because he was free and never marked by any defender.  It was beautifully converted to goal as the keeper watched the ball helplessly.
Arsenal is really doing doing well especially in their scoring and I must admit that the also have some measure of luck on their side else Manchester  United would have converted one of their numerous chances. If Arsenal holds this match as it is till half time, it will be a remarkable achievement which they have to use the break to restrategise because it seems their current formation is putting more pressure on them instead of being on the attack.
2  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Dem Oga at the Top Talk Say Crypto Machines Fit Spoil Economy on: May 12, 2024, 02:46:05 PM
Na today I confirm say our oga dem at the top no sabi anything about crypto currency. When we talk about crypto currency, all dem sabi be say e nor good. And i nor go blame dem. The CBN governor don already say na crypto spoil our naija economy and with wetin dem don do to Binance and wetin dem dey plan do to P2P, i nor sure say light dey the end of this tunnel at all.
Sometimes I dey ask myself how we take reach the point wey be say na the dullest and worst set of people wey dey for position of power for our country. As if them settle down. Select all the block heads come put them for power. The one wey dey pain me be say these people claim say them go school yet they no fit do small research for anything wey them no understand. How human being go talk say crypto dey harm our economy? Why e go be only our economy cryptocurrency go harm and not other people economy? This one dey show say the people we claim say them go school no really know wetin the world dey talk.

My pipo wetin we go call this one biko nu...how crypto mining machines go fit to casue harm our Naija economy abeg?

Las las sha, dem talk say anything wey person nor understand, na so e go dey fight am.
Them use muscle collect power yet them no know how to rule. See as them scatter everywhere, putting 133 million people onto adject poverty out of 200 million wey we be for our country.Na God go really help us for this country.
3  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Guide on how to invest in bitcoin and altcoins on: May 11, 2024, 07:38:30 PM
We no even suppose they invest inside this new Altcoins with full body, if not dem go flash our eyes. I don also see shege for this Altcoin market and the worst be say I use money wey I suffer to find still invest aggressively, till now I still dey on loss and no hope to recover because the project done die. I see this as beginners mistakes, as I don dey get acquainted with the forum e get things I no fit do again. I don base solely on Bitcoin, no stress and no loss involved.
These altcoins both old ones, I no dey trust them because I get the same believe say many of them nah scam and ponzi scheme coins, if you never buy am them go dey increase for your eyes so that e go attract you to click the buy button, then after buying there nai you go home realize say those coins nah rubish. Mostly these new coins those ones nai worst pass. The best coin for a crypto investor to put em money mai be Bitcoin, no other coins except Bitcoin, the rest of those coins nah shitcoins.
I think say na only me done see this kind thing. I don fall for this trap more than once... e get one coin I been dey monitor for coinmarketcap, na so the coin dey rise dey go until I finally decide to put small money inside.  From the time I buy the coin till now, the coin dey fall dey go and the funny part be say, almost all exchanges don delist am. The thing do me like film, as if them dey wait make I buy first before the coin go die. Because of that experience, omo I no do again for those altcoins.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 11, 2024, 08:14:21 AM
If he's truly seeking a challenge, the Premier League could be a great option. However, he might opt for the easier path, where success in the Champions League is almost guaranteed with Madrid. However, he needs Real Madrid more than Real Madrid needs him.
You mean La Liga is easier? but in the UCL which Premier League team is currently surviving?

Mbappe decided to go to Madrid because he fits Madrid's style and vision, while in the Premier League so far Mbappe doesn't have a place or does the English team not dare to spend money to pay his salary? It's about a brighter future and Madrid is definitely the place to be. Can you tell me which English club is suitable for Mbappe if the Premier League option is really worth exploring? Manchester City? Manchester United? Liverpool? or Arsenal? I really haven't found a match.
I was thinking that Harry Kane will make a blast in Bayern Munic but we can all see how he is struggling to live up to the name and expectations. This was the case with Zlatan Ibrahimovic moving to Barcelona and PSG, and even Lionel Messi moving to PSG. The expectations is usually so high but in the end, it is not always as easy as it seems. Mbappe going to Real Madrid will rarely make much difference because the club is already doing well. They have a formidable team with the requisite team work to deliver on any match. Mbappe may be the bigger benefactor of such moves because Real Madrid will offer him the platform for his career to excel.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now is the best time to buy the dip and HODL on: May 11, 2024, 07:57:39 AM
Well you should not worry about the dip if your plan is to hodl since whatever price came up then its the best time for you to buy again. Other people think that they do a bad decision for not waiting for some few hour or days that's why they fail since this people got discourage for seeing that there's more dump happen and they lose a value for their bitcoins bought. They need to remember that if there plan is for long term then there's nothing to worry on those situation. Since they can accumulate more so they can increase their investment and hopefully in future the price pump they could able to earn a lot of money especially if bitcoin will hit another bull run season and we can see a great price achieve especially if the price would able to reach at six digits in figures.
Your position aligns with my style of buying. I don't worry about the dip since I'm going for long term, every entry within this stage is still perfect because I believe Bitcoin will be approaching $100k in the new future. I use the DCA method mostly but when I have extra cash, I do still consider buying the dips and when such times comes, I don't think twice about it because the price of Bitcoin is below $100k and I consider that a fair deal. Some people make buying the dip look so complicated because they want to enter at the perfect lowest point which is very difficult to determine. I don't subscribe to this idea of perfect entry because it can make one to refuse to buy only to see price already surged. Besides, most of the technical analysis method employed in determining the supposed perfect entry are marred with errors.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? on: May 11, 2024, 06:37:42 AM
I see that current youth is inspired by celebrities and influencers in big way. Did you also start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? Or you know people who belong to that category ? Is it a wise decision to do so or we should do our own research for better results ?
Celebrities hardly advertise Bitcoin so I doubt if much people heard about Bitcoin from them. Who will pay them for such advertisement? Besides, Bitcoin does not need any advertisement... I think this has been a topic of debate in many platforms I have joined and I really think there are some merits in it. Instead of Bitcoin, what I have noticed celebrity advertise are altcoins, NFT and other projects that mimics Bitcoin. Founders of these projects made special budget for marketing and that is how the celebrities get paid.

There are actually few early adopters of Bitcoin that couldn't resist the urge to flaunt their wealth in social media, they have huge followers but they are extremely few and most of them I know have even gone ahead to create some other coins and platforms in which they advertise using their big stash of Bitcoin as bait to attract people to them. Instead of people investing in Bitcoin because of them, people end up investing in their new creation with the hope that it will perform like Bitcoin.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a core subject in our schools - Good or bad idea? on: May 11, 2024, 06:27:55 AM
Bitcoin as a core subject? Well in my opinion I would say cryptography as a core subject rather. Then students or pupils will be able to get a proper understanding of how the crypto space works especially in the case of Bitcoin. For some time now some schools already offer such subjects to their students however most of the time as a branch under one of their networking or programming subjects. I think if it was a full subject it should be divided into cryptographic programming and crypto economics.
What is actually offered in schools across the globe is Blockchain Technology and you can find the list of some of the university that offers that in this article. I think Blockchain is a better caption as confirmed by what is already on ground. It is broader and cover Bitcoin and altcoins as well as the underlying technology which cryptography is part of.

With the wide application of the blockchain technology, offering such courses in school will transform many sectors such as medicine, agriculture, civil service and others. It could also help in fighting crime and corruption. Indeed, this is a new area of studies that I'm hopeful will grow and gets bigger.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the main points of gambling? on: May 10, 2024, 09:26:01 PM
Gambling thus requires three elements to be present: consideration
(an amount wagered), risk (chance), and a prize.

I noticed that people now don't actually know their main points of them gambling, some people gamble to earn daily and some people just gamble cause they saw their friends won in gambling. That's how they develop their gambling lifestyle and from their they get addicted to it. I've over heard people complaining about them losses, for me I think they don't know the main points of gambling. What do you think about this people losses much? Does it mean they don't know the main points of gambling?
I was expecting to see where you will give us the main points of gambling but seems you are also looking for the same answer you are accusing many people of not knowing. In my understanding, the main point of gambling is to earn money which is what you described as prize. Remove the the money, you will be left with only the gambling addicts as the rest of the gamblers will not see any reason to gamble. Even those that claim to be gambling for fun will ditch gambling the moment their is no monetary gain attached to gambling. If you are not propelled to gamble because of money, check well to see that you have become an addict such that even if money is removed, you just love gambling.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: May 10, 2024, 10:24:28 AM
There's nothing bad in good positive emotions, like those that we experience when we are winning, but usually aggressiveness is not one of them good emotions we should seek for.
Gambling should never be aggressive because the chances of losing is higher than that of winning. If you are aggressive, before the winning will come, you might run out of money. I have tried aggressive gambling a couple of times, I will start with like $20, go all in and either win or loss is the option. When I win, I go all in with my balance because I was targeting to hit $1 million compounded from $20. Somethings I will build the funds to a couple of hundred dollars and then lose them all only to start all over again. With time I realised that this pattern is not sustainable so I have to resort to gambling with single digit percentage of my account balance per session and also controlling how ofter I gamble. This way I will always remain in the game even after several losses.

10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Conference League 2023/24 Season on: May 09, 2024, 03:23:19 PM
Olympiakos has a big chance to advance to the Final, Aston Villa will find it difficult to overcome a 2 goal deficit in the away match, especially if the hosts implement a defensive strategy. However, Aston Villa will play more aggressively in the second leg, with the aim of equalizing first, and Olympiakos must avoid following the rhythm of open play. It is clear that Olympiakos has a realistic chance of advancing to the Final, but you still shouldn't underestimate the strength of Aston Villa. Many did not expect Aston Villa to fall at home with a big score, because previously many had placed them as the favorite team to win the Confederacy League this season. On the other hand, Fiorentina, who were finalists last season, will most likely reach the final round again after winning 3-2 in the first leg. If Olympiakos is able to maintain their level of play as in the first leg, they can even beat Fiorentina in the final.
For me I'm already looking beyond the semi finals because if Olympiakos can defeat Aston Villa first leg at Villa's home with even two goals margin, I don't see how they will not humble them when they visit Greece. That first encounter was a shocker to the English side and I never knew such a result was even possible. Aston Villa tried so well to come from two goals down to 2:2 before Olympiakos overpowered them by scoring two more goals to seal their fate. I'm not expecting much tonight, probably a 1:1 draw.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 09, 2024, 11:58:25 AM
I have a feeling that Tottenham will mess up Manchester City league title dreams this season. Tottenham have been on losing streak, losing 4 matches straight which have made them lose their chances of qualifying for Champions League next season and even their chances of qualifying for Europa League is being threatened by Newcastle that have picked up form after their weeks of turbulence. Tottenham need to win at least one match if they must change the tide and the only option available is Brighton or Manchester City. I'm feeling that they might draw Brighton then win Manchester City. If this happens, then Arsenal's hope of winning the league will become reality.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I hope I'm doing the right thing. on: May 09, 2024, 09:03:46 AM
How did you guys invest in as beginners. What was your experience with the market volatility? A lot of people talk how investing in Bitcoin is good but risky, i don't want to rush to invest  bitcoin. I need to be very sure of what I'm planning to go into. I don't know if I am making the right decision or I'm too sluggish to invest. I'm not really convinced maybe because I don't know much. Do you think this delay is good for me? I believe it is good for one to be  sure and understand anything that involves money.
This is a very good topic that will help many new investors in gathering the required knowledge to avoid making mistake in their Bitcoin investment. From my experience, DCA method remains the best way of investing in Bitcoin especially for beginners because it eliminates most of the troubles people have in regards to investing in Bitcoin such as fomo, selling too quick, eager to see profits and so on.

In addition to using the DCA method, I will suggest that beginners must know few things that will help them in their investing as well as managing the investment and those include but not limited to:
  • Invest what you can afford to hold for long, I mean money you can live your life without
  • Before investing,  make sure your basic needs are first met, then after investing, ensure you set some funds aside for emergencies which were not planned for but can happen, this way you will not have to sell your Bitcoin to solve them

I'm sure that with these steps, a beginning can invest even like a profession provided he has also acquired the basic knowledge of storage and security.
13  Economy / Reputation / Re: What is happening in the Stake… on: May 09, 2024, 06:41:25 AM
They had launched the campaign and never selected anyone and move the thread to altcoin section. It seems funny 😄 😄  Grin

It mean the stake doesn’t have a budget for new participants..?

If they doesn’t have budget for the participants either they need to delete the thread. But moving the thread to bounty section seems funny 😁
I was expecting to see a post like this from someone hoping to join the campaign but was disappointed how a member account will know too much about the forum and signature campaigns. Even if this account is your alts, you would have made this post with your main account that is probably suitable for this kind of post. I'm not saying that having alt account violate any rule, but using a member account to discuss topic that belong to Hero/Legendary account is not proper.

As for Stake accepting new people, I think they should or will accept else they will not make the announcement for open slots. Besides, they sometimes PM accepted participants and can decide not to publish it in the thread.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: LAST CHANCE TO BUY BITCOIN..... on: May 08, 2024, 03:04:24 PM
There is no last chance to buy Bitcoin because there will always be a chance to buy. Captions like this will do more damage than good especially for the newbies. Damage in the sense that some of them might decide to put all their money into Bitcoin or even borrow money to buy Bitcoin only to panic when the price refuses to rice rapidly.

Those of us using the DCA method will not also feel comfortable with this idea because we are continuously buying irrespective of the price. Even if Bitcoin rises to $100k, we will continue to buy because the DCA method is a gradual way of buying Bitcoin in a regular basis. I understand that your emphasis is on the need to consider investing in Bitcoin now but that does not mean it is the last chance of buying Bitcoin.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: May 08, 2024, 01:53:35 PM
Investing for the purpose of profit is foolish, if you accumulate bitcoins for a long time then profits will definitely be earned because the price of bitcoin will increase the most in the future.
I disagree with you completely. How can you come up with such strong term as though profit is not the first motivation for investing in Bitcoin. Weather long term or short team investment, the main purpose for investing in Bitcoin is to make profit. Recommendation for long term investment is to ensure that enough time is given for the investment to yield the desired profits and for the investment to be optimally managed. In addition, the risk of loss is greatly reduced when the investment is given enough time to mature. These are the reason we think encourage people to consider long term and not that short term does not give profit neither should we regard those who play for short term as fools.

16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 08, 2024, 01:30:55 PM
Gambling is becoming a popular thing in my locality almost everyone gamble and even colleagues gamble and engage in gambling related discussions at work,  so gambling is legal and very popular so there is no Shame in using part of a salary to gamble with that is why I am asking the question of what the right percentage from my salary that I should use to gamble?
I don't think there will be a generally accepted answer to this question because people's salaries are not the same and so also their needs and responsibilities. These are the factor that determine how much can be injected into gambling without feeling depressed when it is lost. Some people can put 20% of their income and still be good whereas there are people that will put 5% and will be worried. Whatever be the case, I think a 2.5% of income injected will not make anyone broke. It is small but huge for sizeable for gambling provided the gambling will be diligent to build it systematically to something magnificent.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 08, 2024, 12:45:01 PM
Dortmund really appeared as a surprise team in the UCL event this season, they surprisingly got rid of PSG who have a luxurious squad with agg 2-0. Dortmund who appeared less than convincing in the Bundesliga, were actually able to surprise the football public after successfully qualifying for the final, they were able to maintain their defense well even though PSG launched continuous attacks. PSG elimination in the semifinals this time also buried their dream of winning the UCL Trophy for the first time in the club's history. They could buy the players they wanted with the money they had, but they couldn't afford the trophy they had been aiming for.
No one actually believed that Borussia Dortmund will be a serious contender in this years' Champions League. They never performed so well in their local league either so where they found the strength to eliminated Atletico Madrid and followed by the French champions, PSG is like a mystery. What is more surprising is the fact that defeated PSG both home and away, bringing down the hype and glory of PSG and their key player Kylan Mbappe. Now they await the winner of today's match between Real Madrid and Bayern Munic. With the performance of Dortmund so far, they might likely win the trophy, they have the team work and energy to make it happen.
18  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: 3 things to know before investing in Bitcoin on: May 08, 2024, 10:08:05 AM
from this link, it is very important to know how something works before going into where as going deep into research to know the steps to take to be successful in your investment.
I have read many Posts in this forum which indicates that many people don't know what to do many business persons fail in their business cause they don't follow procedures some just venture into it cause others are making success. Recently I saw a post where the writer was asking what should he do if someone tells him they would hold him responsible for their lose if they invest in Bitcoin. Bitcoin and investment is not something to force someone into.

Today I took my time to make this research of Bitcoin investment and I found this so I decided to share.

THE HALVING AND BITCOIN MINING: 3 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE INVESTING IN THIS EXPLOSIVE INDUSTRY.
The article you referenced and the caption of your post are not saying the same thing. While the article is talking about investing in Bitcoin mining, you seem to be talking about investing in Bitcoin itself. These are two different areas of investment that requires two different approach, knowledge and finance.

I don't know much about Bitcoin mining neither do I plan to venture into such area. My focus in investing in Bitcoin and like many people have already said, investing in Bitcoin requires the basic know of Bitcoin, having a stable source of income, and ensuring there is provision for emergency funds incase of personal needs that may arise, with planned and unplanned,  during the period of investment. This way the investment will be protected and held for a long time which is the best way to enjoy the benefits of investing in Bitcoin.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do to get merit reward? on: May 07, 2024, 08:26:51 PM
Hello everyone, I have been here for a few weeks/months now but I'm yet to receive "merit" so I'm just worried, please can someone tell me what I will need to do or how long I will need to be here for before I get merit and other rewards?
I sincerely under your post which is coming from someone who have had 47 posts yet no merit. A close look at your profile will easily show why you have not gotten any merit. First, you just registered in March of this year which is less than two months, this is a short interval of time to learn about how the forum works, the rules and how to post to earn merit. Majority of us spent months trying to figure out how the forum works and earning merit was the last thing on our mind. So give the forum time, keep learning how the forum works and don't stress yourself trying to make posts that are not within your level of understanding of blockchain, this being the reason some people resort to using AI, don't do it so that your account will not be nuked.

Secondly, most of your post are in the gambling board, that is a low merit board that will rarely earn you merits. If you want to see some improvements in your situation, engage more in the other boards, and you must do that appreciating the fact that you are a newbie, so don't try to act like a legendary when you are a beginner.

Finally, you will make much progress when you settle down to do more of learning than posting because that will shift your attention from merit to knowledge and that is when the merit will start flowing. We all are basically rewarded with merits for our contribution through knowledge, so seek knowledge and merit will be the reward.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 06, 2024, 05:54:15 PM
About Darwin Nunez to Barcelona rumours I think the only way for Liverpool to let him go would be to find someone solid in his place. Otherwise Liverpool wouldn't like to sell Nunez. I'm not much of a fan of Nunez though because of his wasting too many goal opportunities. It wouldn't be bad for Liverpool to find a more effective striker.  Tongue
I don't think it will be about Liverpool willing to let Nunez go but about him being willing to remain at Anfield after this disappointing ending they encountered.  I feel he might go for where his chances of pushing his career forward is higher and Barcelona seems like one because the exit of Jogen Klopp might mean a serious nosedive for The Reds.

Besides I'm doubtful about Barcelona to pay that high amount of money for Nunez. I don't think it makes sense. Nunez hasn't been impressive enough to sacrifice that much money. By the way I'm curious about whether Lewandowski is staying for another season. If he stays then I don't expect them to sign another striker.
I think this is the bigger thing to consider in that rumor.  As much as I know, Barcelona may not be willing to pay that much for Nunez because they still have good alternatives. His performance is not even that spectacular towards the end of the season.
