What is difference with NXT freemarkets?
One Glaring Difference, you can make purchases on Opal Marketplace without needing a wallet or downloading the Blockchain, if you wish. So if someone just wants to buy something off the market, they can goto an exchange and buy some Opal and then have the file sent to their e-mail. After reading your message, I decided to take a look at their market and downloaded the wallet to try out the Market to see how its different. ATM I am still downloading the wallet and have no idea what is for sale there. As of right now I can log into Opal Market place and send coins from an exchange and have the file sent to my e-mail. Well theoretically if everyone cooperated, pulled their coins off the exchange, then put them back on as sell orders > 3000sat, that would force value to be > 3000sat. Sadly the market is too complex for a scenario like that to occur (cooperation on a large scale is near impossible). Even if say 20 of us loyal followers don't trade (I've already had my coins staking for weeks) there WILL alwys be a group who doesn't participate. I think most people participating in the stake day were already participating in stake week, and will still be participating in stake month.  There are those of us who value the work being done, see the potential of OPAL, and care enough to support the network and price and HODL and stake our coins, but there are also many who just want to make a quick buck and don't care enough to download the wallet and stake, and simply leave sell orders 300sat higher then they bought because that's all they want. The idea and creation of an event is good regardless though! Constant community involvement and support is what will allow OPAL to grow. - Keep thread active - Add to the market place to create growth - Stake your coins in wallet, support network/price - Add in buy orders to support price - and spread the word about OPAL (I know I became an investor because I heard about OPAL in another thread on here and decided to check it out, I'll bet others are in the same boat) This website is the MAIN source of gathering attention right now. I'm excited to see the market place grow, and I've been thinking of what I can add aswell. You guys should too, even if it's a good image you took that could be a desktop wallpaper or a photoshop or anything, the more unique stuff on the market and greater variety the better! We can not just assume it'll grow fast if we sit and wait!  Thank you, very well said; I think I really wanted to prove 3 things with Stake Day. 1. 3. To reveal what the Real market manipulation is, that is occurring in the exchange.It is true if every Opal was removed from the market, it would cause a price reset. People can sell for whatever price they wanted. Personally, I feel in all honesty that Opal's real value is about $1 per Opal. We will see in time what is happening and who knows maybe whoever is driving market down will give up and just finally dump to the people who actually want to own those coins and use them as they were intended. |

I noticed some members of the community were upset about the delay of the release of the Marketplace. Let me add some perspective to your frustrations. What happen with market? You've annouce them 13day ago... Doesn't put anymore a countdown if you can" handle the date please, this is hurting, ans not only the price, but the faith on this team by the community.
and Wallet? We've got a screen 3 week ago and nothing more since..
We've pass out our spark and thats not a good thing... We gotta need more work to spark it again...(eh,sometime it never happen for some currency...)

Obviously, exchange price is very important to some of you, I understand that I trade myself. One thing you have to understand, Opal was never and will never intended to be a Pump and Dump scheme. If you want us to put out dozens of pretty picture of what a product might look like as we develop, we can do that, but in all honesty we prefer to show what we are actually developing. If we were to post pictures everyday of progress most of it would be lines and lines of coding and screen shots of compiling. As far as "Handling a Date" if you have ever done coding, knowing the day of completion is pure voodoo. People make there best guess, while allowing for bugs and testing; sometimes things happen that are unexpected, but at Opal we protect our users and will not allow them use a product or service we know is not ready. As far as the price going to 400 (not sure what formula your using to come up with that number) Opal like any coin will be whatever price people buy and sell it at. As far as the countdown timer, that may have been a poor choice. Typically, Opal doesn't set release dates, we release when its done and the bugs have been checked and fixed. I would like to also add the drop in price Opal is experiencing happened to ALL of crypto when BTC jumped past 400. On top of that.. look at the order books, you can see whats happening and its pretty underhanded, but all to common nowadays. Wait what? that marketplace looks great

Sorry but lets be clear,nobody give a fuck about a non-finish beta market!! The damn market tell you right now. There's over 400 cryptocurrency and many dev team working his ass. Im here because I have seen this some week ago,opal dev team working his ass,but the last day disappointed me... I agree I was promoting like hell too, but I'll tell you what, if we had released a faulty product, how do you think that would have reflect on the team and the community. I'll tell you how it would have looked, We would have looked like just another scam coin trying to steal peoples money. Again? "400 (.... I'm sensing a pattern here) cryptocurrency and many dev team working his ass". Anyone here who knows cpryto knows this is not true. Their are maybe 30 coins at best actually creating new code, the other 280 just copy and paste and give themselves a premine or set-up ICO (in reality a 100% premine). I know of those 280 some aren't actually scams and are just trying a fun experiment with a concept for there currency and use and that good imo. Opal is all about new and improved and I am pleased with Opal progress. If anyone wants to question that progress, please tell me of another coin that is doing what Opal is doing in only 2 month time. Is there any good news on opal?
I have been monitoring opal for some time and this is the 1st time the price managed to breach 1k.
First off, that's kind of a loaded statement, as apposed to all the bad news? Opal has tons of good news, people just need to hear about it. If your wondering what sparked the increase in price.. your guess is as good as mine. Traders buy for all sorts of reasons, sometime because they've researched there investments or they see a quick profit following trends. Here are a few things that might have motivated the sudden movement (which if your watching Opal, wasn't actually very sudden): 1. I recently just started looking into OPAL and I really like the ideas and concepts of this coin and the people behind it :-) I think we may see a run soon for this coin if the Devs keep up the good work and the marketplace turns out nicely Cheers everyone and Happy Trading I agree and Welcome to Opal.Once the Market goes live for public testing I'm sure Opal will get a lot more attention and a number of copycats doing ICO's of our wallet... again  . it all looks very good and sounds interesting but need more exposure.
I agree exposure is critical, but the Devs can only do so much to gain exposure, which they have been (contacting websites, exchanges, verification services, and media outlets). Opal didn't have an ico or massive premine to dump to generate btc to pay for lots of advertising. So, a lot of it falls onto the community to get the coin a larger following. The developers have given you a number of tools and features to speak about. Everything that has happened through Opal has been through shear will and skill of the development team. All Opal needs is for the people who support it ( or at the very least those who want to profit from it) to get out there and just talk about opal and ask for sites to accept opal. The more exposure we get the better. I really do think this coin is here to stay and would love to see the community get the name out there in fun and innovative ways. Here is a list of things you can do. (feel free to add any ideas you think will help) Bitcointalk- 1. Talk about Opal on other BCT threads (not other altcoin threads, thats just rude) Make Opal someones first- 2. Take a moment just talk about opal to friends you know who aren't into crypto (just have them join IRC to chat, plus Opal gets rained frequently) CryptoNews- 3.
