I have never had any problems with this website too. In the past I deposited lots of money and took it back every penny without a problem later on. I still have some coins there but not as big as it used to be. Only once my deposit arrived a bit late and it was due to the new wallet software as TheQuin explained to me via PM.

I am still trying to figure out how these people got hacked and I also want to see a statement from freebitco.in

Are these people lying? Were they really hacked? If so what was the cause? Is it patched? Is it safe now?

Just a few basic questions... and till I hear an answer I can't really recommend this website to anyone.

Yay!! great idea mindrust Wink

I'm writing from my smartphone but I will edit the OP and add the link as soon as I can. How do you want me to add it? with the classic "www" icon? or maybe some of you have other (better) ideas? Let me know. Anyway, it can be changed at anytime Smiley

Not sure but www is kind of outdated don't you think? (i probably didn't understand what you meant completely)

However, more important question would be, what should we do with it? Leave it like this or make it a landing page? Huh

I can try to make a copy of the first and second post that updates the forum profile pics daily and automatically with the code I made earlier if you like. I don't know if that makes sense.

It seems to me the freebitco.in's backend works as it should but somebody found a way to inject a script on the front-end of the app and it manipulates the DOM and tricks you into doing the shit you shouldn't be doing.

Like: "You are hacked, send x amount of btc to this adress to get unhacked"

In reality, you weren't hacked at all. It is just what this script kiddie wants you to believe. Regardless of that, it should be handled asap.
Is it possible to solve this with manually putting some scripts in developers' console? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I am not a developer.

No you can't do anything like that and it looks like my assumption was half-true half-wrong, the attacker is able send withdrawal requests to the server according to codergeek.

...
I wonder if this script can send a withdrawal request or change the withdrawal address though. Since it has an access to the client side, it can do whatever it wants. (From your side)

Yes, it can do both. An unauthorised withdrawal was initiated on my account. And it was able to bypass my profile address.
5  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [GUIDE] Best Crypto Investment Opportunities for Passive Income -2024 on: May 05, 2024, 09:22:14 AM
Multiple hack reports:

They have a large number of users and it would be very strange if such things did not exist. Earlier, I had a similar "bad" experience with them, I got the impression that their security was not very well done.
Of course, there is 2fa there as an additional security method, it should be activated.

I wouldn't trust them with more than $100

Mistakes will be made, I don't blame freebitco.in for getting hacked (even though I probably should) but their lack of communication is what really worries me.

He went online today.
Another worrying thing is, till January he was making posts non-stop. Then zero posts made in February and one post was made in March and one in April. This strengthens my theory but let's hear his explanation first.

Worst case scenario is, the feds are after this website.
This website didn’t do any kyc for more than 10 years and suddenly it was last year if remember right, it started to mention KYC in their ToS. That can’t be a coincidence.
This website might be the next victim of the gov.
Every website is dropping like flies suddenly. I wonder why.
I recall the other day, two very well known mixers went offline within a short interval, a few days (go to the Altcoinstalks forum for more information)
And now this happens.
Never in my history of using this site since 2019 have I heard of this sort of mass hack happening.

<...>

Shocked Shocked Shocked You're the best mindrust!!! (and also my salvation: time is a scarce and valuable resource, and all that can be automated is definitely welcome).

Give me a few days and let me do some tests and I will tell you if it is enough or I need more help with that Smiley

Alright, I found some bugs and fixed them too. also did some refactoring. Pushing them now.
8  Economy / Services / Re: [OFNT] [AOBT] The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators on: May 01, 2024, 11:07:33 AM
I see you are also using browser's zoom in function. I modified my code. That should shorten your workflow.

My result:
Quote

The image in the OP:
Quote

I used 100% zoom (2.0) and It looks way better now. The fonts look different because it seems to me you are on Firefox, while I use a chrome based browser. Firefox fonts look bold/ugly.

Updated the code, added the folders and also uploaded the new images into them. You can fiddle with the zoom and modify the code according to your needs if that's too much.

If you can't bother with running/installing node.js, I can upload the new profile images weekly.

edit: Another update. I modified the code again. I manually set 10(11) users' (Peanuts, Porf, R_vic, Zasad, Bao, Cygan, Dansus*, DrBeer, Gazeta, Husna, Mindr) image width to 370 pixels so they don't need further cropping. Dansus has copper membership so his image is 400px wide. The rest needs to be cropped further.

end result:

Quote

I can probably automate the remaining work for rest of the profiles too If I dig further.

edit 2:

All crop work is automated and done. Only dansus is 400px wide. The rest is 370px, all automated. Updated the code, uploaded the images into the "finalimage" directory.

https://github.com/mrustbtt/btt-ss-app/tree/master/images/editedimages/finalimage

If these specs ain't good, I can modifty the code. Maybe I should do 400px on all?

edit 3 probably final:

fixed dansus too. All automated and 370px. Uploaded, the code updated.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest in Bitcoin because others are investing in Bitcoin on: May 01, 2024, 09:39:02 AM
True. If you invest in btc just because other people are also investing, then you will also be selling btc when they are selling and in my experience, the majority are always the losers. That means if you don't sell before everybody else, you will be selling at the bottom. If you don't buy before everybody, you will be buying the top. Following the majority the quickest way of getting poor.

On the top of that, people need to understand what they are buying or selling. That's why they need to do their research before even touching btc or any other crypto. There are many resources that educates people for free. "Price is what you pay, value is what you get."
10  Economy / Services / Re: [OFNT] [AOBT] The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators on: April 30, 2024, 06:58:29 PM
PGP(Linux) topic's Turkish translation is finished

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5494837.0

I am kind of biased against Windows so I don't know If I will ever do the Win translation. Been using linux on all my personal computers since 2018. Never looked back.

I've coded a mini express.js app using puppeteer.js (autoscreenshot) and sharp.js (auto crop)

https://github.com/mrustbtt/btt-ss-app

This app goes to the AOBT members' profiles, takes a screenshot of each of them and then crops it. Maybe it will come useful. All you need to do is install node.js, and then a few dependencies, create 2 directories ("images" and subfolder "editedimages") and then run the code from the terminal with the command "npm start".

There is a slight difference between profiles so there is still some minor cropping work to do.

For some reason some users have a wider blank space.

Orjinal konu: [Eng: Tutorial] PGP Signature - Encrypt/Decrypt message (Linux Only)

Selam BitcoinTalk!

Orjinal konudaki resimler görüntülenemediği ve yazar artık forumda aktif olmadığı için mdayonliner'ın konusunu ([Eng: Tutorial] PGP Signature - Encrypt/Decrypt message - Fingerprint) yeniden açtım. Husna QA'ın önerisi üzerine, Linux kullanıcılarına yönelik bu rehberi yazmaya karar verdim.

➥  Diğer PGP Rehberleri:

➥ Gnupg ve gpa'yı yükleyin:

Hadi başlayalım!
Terminalinizi açın ve şu komut satırını yapıştırın
Code:
sudo apt-get install gnupg2 gpa

Root ayrıcalığınız açıksa şifre sorulmayacaktır. Root kapalı ise sistem şifrenizi yazmanızla beraber gnupg2 ile gpa yüklenecektir. Aşağıdaki ekran görüntüsüne göz atın;

Quote

➥ Anahtar Oluşturma:
Bu komutu terminalinize yapıştırın
Code:
gpg --full-generate-key
, size ne tür bir anahtar yaratmak istediğiniz sorulacak. "RSA and RSA" varsayılan seçenektir ve ben bu anahtarı oluşturacağım. "RSA and RSA" tipi anahtar oluşturmak için 1'e ve ardından enter'a basın.

RSA anahtarları 1024 bit ile 4096 bit arasındaki uzunluklarda olabilirler. 3072 varsayılandır fakat ben anahtarımı 4096 olarak oluşturacağım. Bu yüzden 4096 yazın ve enter'a basın. Aşağıdaki görüntüyü inceleyin;

Quote

Şimdi anahtarlarınız için geçerlilik süresini belirleyebiliriniz. 0, anahtarların her zaman geçerli olacağı anlamına gelir. 0 yazın ve enter'a basın. Y yazdıktan sonra yeniden enter'a basın. (Türkçe işletim sistemi için E)
Şimdi size gerçek isminiz (gerçek isminizi yazmak zorunda değilsiniz tabii ki), email adresiniz ve ek bilgiler sorulacak. Ben kendi bilgilerimi yazıyorum. Bitince O'ya (Türkçe işletim sisteminde T) ve sonrasında enter'a yeniden basın. Sizden bir şifre belirlemeniz istenecek. Şifrenizi yazmanızın ardından anahtarlarınız oluşturulacaktır. Aşağıdaki görüntüyü inceleyin;

Quote

Şimdi bu komut satırını yapıştırın
Code:
sudo gpa
Eğer herhangi bir hata mesajı ile karşılaşmazsanız lütfen sonraki bölümü atlayınız.

Eğer şu hatayı aldıysanız
Code:
failed to load module canberra-gtk-module
büyük ihtimalle bunun sebebi anahtarlarınızın oluşturulmuş gibi gösterilmesine rağmen oluşturulamamış olmasıdır. Eğer Ubuntu veya Debian kullanıcısı iseniz, önce şu kodu uygulayın
Code:
sudo apt update
ve ardından Libcanberra'yı yükleyin.
Code:
sudo apt install libcanberra-gtk-module libcanberra-gtk3-module -y

Ardından yeniden bu komutu deneyin
Code:
sudo gpa
, ve GNU Privacy Assistant'ın kullanıcı grafik arayüzü açılacaktır. Kendi anahtarlarınızı burada oluşturabilirsiniz. Bunu nasıl yapacağınızı artık bildiğinizi düşünüyorum.

Tamam. Ben kendi anahtarlarımı oluşturdum, aşağıda görebilirsiniz;

Thanks for this!

For some time, I've been thinking of forgetting about not your keys, not your coins at least for a portion of my funds. The bulk of my funds is there sleeping in my wallet. I've read so many times of passive investment opportunities that could give you juicy returns. Some acquaintances and friends are earning big from them. There's risk but there's also a nice ROI. Perhaps I'm taking not your keys, not your coins too seriously. It might be the right time to make some changes in my strategy.

When I read the title, since you mentioned crypto and not just Bitcoin, I thought you'd also include those staking investments. Many are earning nice from it.

Staking is in a gray area for me because these coins don’t have a hard supply cap. Maybe it doesn’t matter in the long run, maybe I am completely wrong about it. It is just I can’t wrap my head around PoS completely. I see binance offers ~3% returns on eth staking and maybe I will include it in my post too but then there are also other projects like eth and I don’t want my post look like a Chinese NFT/PoS brothel.

Maybe sig spammers and acc farmers were necessary evils? Maybe theymos should remove the merit system… Maybe we should go back to our roots from 2017?

Maybe it is already too late.

sig spammers and acc farmers also enabled forum detectives like lauda. Her work created lots of forum drama and that created a massive chain reaction of posts that had its own infinite fuel source

Reading her stuff was fun and interesting.

I recently discovered the stuff with figmentofmyass and it was amazing. I didn’t know that he had multiple accs in chipmixer. I just read it and daym. Just daym. Dude was playing poker against himself wtf

And we still expect to see mass crypto adoption… this is another example that shows us why it is still an unrealistic expectation. Imagine grandpa’s and grandma’s guarding their own private keys. “Priv wot? Get tha fuckoutta here!”  Legacy banking/custodial solutions will always be the only choice for these people and sometimes people just don’t want to act paranoiac with their funds. Sometimes they want to pay someone (usually banks) to guard their funds. Because being careful with everything you do on your computer sometimes gets pretty tiring. Sometimes you lose your sight as you get older and you won’t even be seeing the computer screen correctly…

I guess banks will always be the popular choice.

My investments on bustabit and former MoneyPot have been very much positive. Moneypot was able to turn 1BTC to 1.04 BTC in a month or so and BAB investment is ongoing with a projected interest rate of ~20% per annum as per my calculations. Short term ups and down are common but the overall graph is going upwards.

However my experience with bitvest has been poor and I seem to lose all the earned money to the commission there so I decided to pull out after a couple of months. Freebitcoin is a fixed daily interest and is the most stable of all these four.

I appreciate the info you provided. I am thinking of creating a fund for myself and invest in 4-5 of these projects. (already have some small amounts in 3 of them: binance, blackjack.fun and freebitco.in) Just like how people were doing in the good old days  Tongue

I am not sure why you wrote "sea shells" instead of clams when addressing Just-dice's Notes though.
I miss the old crypto-games investment scheme, it was giving me 50% in a year.

Because... they are sea shells.  Cool

I saw the market cap of CLAM and it is only $5 million and that somehow doesn't look like something people would tie their money to for a long time. However It looks like it has been finally stabilized after getting dumped hugely since 2021.

The guards might also think he is Sam Bankman Fried's lost twin hehehee.

Sam Bankman or...

Sorry I had to do this.

Wow.
I didn't expect him to resort to FBI.
Yeah, this pretty much rules out the “boating accident theory, as it ever was a true scenario here. Seems like a dumb strategy for an OG like Luke.
Or maybe he’s playing three-dimensional chess with the FEDS here, relying on very sophisticated obfuscating technologies here, to save the proverbial 5 million dollars.

I very much think that this will certainly be a normal reaction for anyone who has millions of his own property stolen from him. No can laugh at him or criticize him for calling the FBI.

I've found fillippone's reaction a bit weird too. What's wrong with calling the FBI? Isn't it their job to catch the criminals? Do we automatically convert to criminals when we use Bitcoin?  Cool Our protector and savior the government save us from these bad people!

I think you left out one very important piece of information, which is the minimum investment amount. You stated for freebitco.in where 0.0003 is the minimum, but for example, you did not state that for Jambler the minimum for investment is 0.04BTC
This is probably important information for those who do not want to risk a large amount of money.

Necessary changes have been made. I couldn't find any info on some casinos' website about any min. deposit req. (mintdice, just-dice and bustabit) They probably don't have any req. However I know that blackjack.fun and binance have no min deposit req as I tested both.

update: mintdice has no min. inv. requirement.

I am considering adding Kucoin actually ( I see their offer for USDT is around 7%, Btc 3% and eth 3.75% which are pretty good but not exceptionally good) and tbh I don't know any other reputable exchange that offers staking with good rates. Would you share the others you know so I can take a look?
I don't know details, it's just my thinking. I don't care about it because of risk.

Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts

Anyway, you are making a good thread but people must know about risk too.

True, I should mention it in my disclaimer.

"Not your keys, not your coins."

is everybody really taking the piss? Another boat accident.
Yeah a boating accident where the FBI is involved and asking people's data. Do you have any idea what would happen to Luke if the Feds notice he was lying? (that's if he was lying which I doubt) He won't be seeing any day light for a long time probably.

People already mentioned that shit a year ago.

This is not a prank on a bitcoin forum, that's real life. When you lie to the authorities there will be serious consequences. Is there anyone who lied to the FBI and still got away in history? Sure. the question would be, is it worth it?

The amount mentioned in the OP was $3m at that time (216 btc, $15m now), is it worth going to prison to save $5m tax monney?

Would ya? Would yaaa?

Also don't do post bursting (post one after another without someone else says something first), that's against the forum rules.
