I see everyone's response to this topic and I understand what y'all mean with your responses but to set the record straight, this is my first and only account on this forum but for the past six months, I left the forum for personal development journey that's totally different from Bitcoin or cryptocurrency related  and decided to get back and consistent. I hope y'all understand me and help me to grow instead of bashing me. Despite the critics, I've also learnt taken so many lessons and how to be mindful of questions I pose on this forum going forward. Thank you all

4  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Why the ineffectiveness of naira appreciation in the Nigeria market on: April 11, 2024, 09:55:14 AM
Earlier this year, there was a significant hike in the price of commodities in the Nigeria market because of high appreciation of the dollar against the naira. It got to a point that the exchange rate of a dollar to naira because #1940 which resulted to marketers across the nation to increase the price of commodities which also affected the cost of productions in the country thereby making every buyable commodity to remarkably increase their prices but over the last four weeks, the naira have appreciated against the dollar as the current price of naira against the dollar is below #1200 to $1.

However, despite the appreciation of naira against the dollar, the price of commodities in the market have remained as it were during the time of dollar appreciation and to some commodities, the prices are still on the rise. So out of inquisitiveness to know why, I brought it to the forum to know why the naira appreciation isn't positively effecting changes in the Nigeria market
5  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can a unified language solve Nigeria's problem of tribalism? on: September 09, 2023, 01:11:20 PM
Nigeria is a multi tribalistic nation with numerous ethnicities found in each of the tribes and that I think is one the beauties of the most populous black nation. The problems of tribalism in our dear nation is one of the dividing tools of our political leaders who uses it to incite hatred and war amongst us in other to keep us divided because they know that if we come together as one people we all will know that our primary problem as a nation is because of the kind of political leaders that's driven the affairs of this nation over the years.
So even if we all use one unified language, these leaders will still use other means to cause tribal enmity amongst us. So the earlier we all accept that we are a country of multiple tribes and treat every tribe with utmost respect and as important as others the better for us. We all must accept that we have one general problem as a people and that's the the kind of greedy and extremely selfish political leaders that are governing the affairs of this nation.
6  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What do you think will be the price of Bitcoin until the this year end on: September 09, 2023, 12:53:35 PM
The the price of Bitcoin isn't regulated by any recognized agency but by the happenings in the global market, the demand & availability of the coin and sometimes the sentimental opinion of the big crypto currency investors, I think it's very difficult to predict the price of Bitcoin over particular period of time.
One can predict a rise from the current at the end of the year while we experience a significant fall from the current price while another predicts a fall from the current price and the contrary happens at the of the year.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can we have a newbie Bitcoin wallet? on: August 16, 2023, 07:56:51 AM
So I'm asking if there can be wallets for newbies that'll contain tutorial measures on how to use it and it'll also be user friendly to newbies

Try faucets, also you can try creating crypto demo wallet accounts, there are specific tutorials, guides and mentoring you could learn from them and there are website also were you can begin as a newbie, when you're dealing with demo account you will not have to use real bitcoin or possibly the reward that may be given can be very little in sats since the intention was for learning purpose only.

With this, to send, receive coins  and do other things like message signing will  be less complicated to newbies and will also make the use of Bitcoin wallet an easy task for all newbies

There's a wallet best for newbies in this regard which can serve for learning purpose and easy to understand, they can make use of Exodus wallet but am not sure if all the features you mentioned were comprised in it usage.

I will check about the Exodus wallet and how it works. Hopefully, I'll learn a lot from it as well

It is not really rocket science, possible for anyone to understand who has the ability to read, and understand what is the meaning of deposit/ receive and send.

Let's say you are downloading Electrum as your Bitcoin wallet, you can find the Download link on their official website.

https://electrum.org/#download

Once you downloaded the wallet.
Setting up your wallet:

1. Launch Electrum then You'll be prompted to create a new wallet or restore an existing one.
2. Choose "Create a new wallet" and click "Next."
3. Select "standard wallet option" and click "Next".
4. Choose you want to create a new seed then Electrum will generate a seed for you.
5. write down this seed and keep it in a safe place. This seed is essential for wallet recovery.
6. Confirm the seed by entering it in the next window.
7. Set a strong password for your wallet and click Next.

Now you completely set up your wallet.

Receiving Bitcoin:

Click on the "Receive" tab to generate a receiving address. You can generate multiple addresses if needed.

Sending Bitcoin:

1. Click on the "Send" tab.
2. Enter the recipient's Bitcoin address, the amount you want to send.
3. Choose the right fee as suggested by Electrum, you can also use https://mempool.space/ to find the actual fee and click "Send."

If you still need any tutorials then you can use Helpful Guides For Newbie on the Electrum Wallet posted by Ratimov.

Thank you for the very comprehensive guide and help on how to start somewhere I sincerely appreciate your kind gesture. I will try my possible best to put it to good use and also learn as much as I can learn from it.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Can we have a newbie Bitcoin wallet? on: August 15, 2023, 08:01:20 AM
Is there any wallet for newbies? If there's none, I think we should have a wallet for newbies. As a newbie who wants to learn and more about crypto, I've learnt that owning a wallet is very essential in managing one's crypto assets hence the necessity for anyone who wants to get involved in Bitcoin must have crypto wallet.

So I'm asking if there can be wallets for newbies that'll contain tutorial measures on how to use it and it'll also be user friendly to newbies thereby helping them to learn all the basics of Bitcoin wallet so as they grow and improve their knowledge about wallets and Bitcoin in general, they can advance to pro versions of Bitcoin wallets. With this, to send, receive coins  and do other things like message signing will  be less complicated to newbies and will also make the use of Bitcoin wallet an easy task for all newbies
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 06, 2023, 09:42:04 PM
Napoli not worry with Victor Osimhen not extend contract because still left two years and have chance for selling him if not available in this summer transfer possibility next summer window transfer. But disappointed with Napoli not release yet Victor Osimhen to other teams who interested for signing him due release fees transfer above 200 million euro. Possibility or not with Victor Osimhen move or leaves Napoli depend on one month later before transfer window closing, actually Serie A will play in one week later and looks if not any serious bid offer for signing Osimhen he will stays until his contract over with Napoli.
Not entirely sure about that part. Think about it, Napoli would be taking a big risk of Osimhen not playing that well anymore, they are not selling him and taking that risk as well, what if he plays all games he could next season and scores like 10 goals in 30 games type of deal?

He would lose half of his value and his contract would look like he is overpaid instead of underpaid. Or he could get injured, one of the defenders would tackle hard and he would be out for 6 months and he would not come back good anymore after that? These are all risks that Napoli is taking. And considering he still has 3 years, that means he has to keep playing good for 3 years in order to leave for a better team. It's a risk for both sides.
Keeping Victor Osimhen at the club beyond the end of summer transfer window is something I think will be more profitable for Napoli than selling him off this summer because of the fear that he might not deliver the kind of performance he produced last season.
Victor Osimhen isn't a one-season showman. He has all the qualities to even give Napoli more than he did last season and if he can do again, his price tag will be staggering by the end of next season
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: August 06, 2023, 09:36:00 PM
Getting the Champions League title is not as easy as other domestic leagues, the Champions League is a collection of great teams all over Europe so it will not be easy for Barcelona to achieve that dream even though they have brought their team to a great performance.

The Champions League has a different sensation and the mentality of coaches and players is still influential if they do not have deep experience in the UCL, I believe Barcelona this time will be better to go to UCL even though the previous season could only stop at the group stage.
Every coach's dream is to win UCL. For this, the economic strength of the team is also very important. Not every team, only one team can achieve this. Last year, Manchester City looked like an excellent team and they won the UCL. It's been a great season for Pep and we can see similar things happen this year. They will have tough opponents and UCL will again be the most watched tournament.
But it's not an easy task for a coach. Yes, there is only one team that has won but there is one team that has won consecutively; Real Madrid.
Although Manchester City is able to win the UCL but it is not impossible to win again even though it is still said to be a tough team, not that I don't believe Manchester City but that dream is many other clubs he dreams of.
With the club being able to win the UCL, financially and also the market price of players increases.
In as much as Manchester City would like to dominate the UEFA Champions League competition after winning the European title last season for the first time in the history of the club, there's a minimal chances of establishing such dominance in Europe especially now that many other clubs are wary of Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola is known for his relentlessness to achieve records that seems very to difficult to get but I think dominating the UEFA Champions League is something that may never happen
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 06, 2023, 09:21:58 PM

The rumors about Harry Kane are still not finished until now, I don't know exactly what Tottenham want, they give a price clause to any club that wants Kane but on the other hand they also want to keep him. I don't understand this. Bayern Munich have been exhausted in this deal, although Tuchel has experienced several rejections from Tottenham but they have not given up, they have sold Sadio mane to be their financial solution. My point is to increase their finances in order to meet the price of Tottenham, and now they have got the money. True, now Bayern Munich have increased the amount of the offer to them for Kane with 120 million, in my opinion Tottenham have no more reason to reject such a high offer, they must be able to get out of the comfort zone. Releasing Harry Kane and then they can buy another striker who has the quality like Kane for under 120 million is possible. With 120 million I think they can get two players at once.
Everydays Kane drama seems never ended and the spelucation of this transfer progress is getting wild and indeed according to the news which i read the last bid from Bayern indeed very fantastic that 100 millions and 20 millions plus ads on total and it is not easy to refused and this is Bayern last bid because if Tottenham refuse this bid then they will decide to withdraw and Tottenham should be thinking wisely to this offers because this bid will not came twice moreover Kane already 30 years old and there is no guarantee Kane will always be performing well with Tottenham if they decide to hold him so i think this is the right time to sell Kane and for Bayern i don't really sure what causes which make Tuchel really want him but in my opinion buying Kane with 120 millions is big gamble for Bayern
It really is like a wild ball what happens to Kane, the rumors continue to exist and never die, but the same thing will be our discussion, I mean Tottenham seems hesitant to sell it while they have set a high price. Why don't they try to make a statement not to sell him if they still want him? if they really want to sell him then they should already have a future plan from the money generated. and what is embedded in my mind is that they have not found which player they will target after selling Kane, I think that is one of the things that drives a lot of drama about this player.
From every indication, it's very clear that Tottenham football chairman Daniel Levy is clearly frustrating any move that will see Harry Kane leave the North London club. Since the time he joined the club, Kane has been the club's best player in that duration. Levy knows that it'll be very difficult to get a good replacement for Kane and that's why he's not finding it easy to allow the England international go
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 06, 2023, 09:12:26 PM
When looking at what PSG gives I don't think it's a form of loyalty because they are only trying to hold Mbappe with a high contract and price so that when there is a bigger competition offer and the salary can still be said to be large then there is no reason for Mbappe to stay because this is purely from professional work not loyalty.

So for now with the drama between PSG and Mbappe, it is certain that selling is a condition that will happen sooner or later.
There are a lot of movements from PSG to try to sell Mbappe but now it is quite passive because interested clubs still do not show serious interest because they seem to be waiting for Mbappe to leave at a cheaper price.
its all because PSG did not want to loss with the costs that have been spent on buying Mbappe in the past and tried to find profits by increasing the transfer fee higher but without realizing this drama pressed Mbappe like a useless player who just sits without appearing on the field. of course other teams that are after Mbappe will not chase him too much to pay a very high fee because the teams know this is a very bad drama and Mbappe contract only has one season left and teams like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich prefer to wait for Mbappe contract discharged and become a free agent.
this complicated problem is increasingly seen that PSG management itself is complicating the situation.
IMO for now they are wrong to consider not wanting to lose because if they did that from the beginning and did not do the silly thing by giving special treatment to Mbappe with the contract they gave actually things like now are possible not to happen.
At the moment there is nothing else they can do because like it or not Mbappe will definitely leave and when they try to hold back at the moment I think this will only make them lose even more. His contract is less than a year away at the moment and if this is allowed of course other clubs will also wait and make a deal at a cheaper price than now.
Kylian Mbappe's relationship with Paris Saint Germaine has already turned sour and the only thing that can help the both parties preserve their cordial relationship for future is if the club allows the player to leave and join the club of his dream.
PSG has reportedly been bidding and signing good number of forward players recently and I think it's because of the fact that they've come to terms with the fact that the Frenchman is gonna leave the French champions
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 06, 2023, 09:04:36 PM
Mikel Arteta still defending with Kai Havertz as main striker than replace him with Eddie Nketiah, left more than 40 minutes later actually will get change due Arsenal not any player change on first half. Arsenal under pressure from Manchester City on the first half with ball possession dominance but Arsenal leaded with shot on target. Until 90 minutes without any goals from both teams between Arsenal or Manchester City match automatically extend with penalty kick. I hope left 40 minutes both teams can scoring goals and less creativity with goals scoring due Arsenal and Manchester City are teams typical with attacking than defensive.
I thought the game would be more easier for the cityzens, but everything changed within time. Gunners got new players and new game performance. The results is still a surprise to me, watching Gunners taking the game to next level, tying their opponents down in the first half, 76minutes without a goal from both sides. The game still 0-0, Manchester City keep dominating and putting more pressure on Arsenal. Mikel Arteta standing up to Pep Guardiola this time, with fierce performance from both sides. City keeps pressuring, while gunners keeps defending, so the game is quite understandable and balanced.
I watched the match from beginning till the end Arsenal had really improved on their game with their new signings the trio of  Timber, Havertz and Declan Rice live up to expectations especially Timber who was very solid at the left back shortly after he was substituted Man City scored the opening goal by Palmer, however I think Man City had a slight domination compared to their previous meetings when they used to take most of the possessions and Haaland was kept quiet in most part of the match, winning the community shield will boost the morale of Arsenal players in readiness for the league proper next weekend.
Before the kickoff of the Community Shield match between Arsenal and Manchester City, many had predicted that Manchester City are gonna humiliate the North London club because of the better quality of players at Man City.
But I was of the opinion that though Manchester City squad is visibly better than Arsenal, Arsenal might still shock City and win the cup and just like I predicted the game, Arsenal won.

That being said, the ones you listed above I think deserves to be celebrated, respected and should be given special treatments in the forum because even though Oyibo people doesn't encourage such things in the forum, we as country people knows where we come from and why it is one of our known moral values to give honour to whom honour is due. These people paid so much sacrifices in the forum by working hard to make the forum a good platform for us all to come and learn about Bitcoin which is world's most prestigious crypto currency.

Hopefully, more of our country people who are pioneers of this forum identifies with the Naija thread for us to know them.

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every Bitcoin holder Should Take a Cybersecurity course on: July 26, 2023, 08:54:38 AM
Discussions like this I suppose is more discussed by people who are of higher ranks than a newbie like me but with my own little knowledge about internet security, I think learning about cyber security will go a long way in helping anyone who who wants to keep not just his personal Bitcoin data safe but to also safeguard any other internet key.
As far as the internet is concerned many people wake up every trying new measures on how to hack into people's personal security details and thereby stealing from them immediately they gain access to their security keys and that's why we all need to know the basics of Cyber security so as to stop this Intruders from accessing our respective personal Bitcoin data

It seems that although you are a newbie you are concerned about security from the start and that doesn't discourage you, but that's not how it works for most people. I have told some friends about Bitcoin in the last years, and failed in arousing their interest, not to say if I also warned them about cybersecurity threats.

I genuinely think that for small amounts you don't need special knowledge, apart from the basic every computer user should know (don't run unknown .exes, don't click on unknown links, don't send relevant information while connected to public wifis without a good VPN...).

If you want to be your own bank and store a high amount of your savings, then concerns should be higher, but not too much: as many colleagues said before, just a good hardware wallet will do for that (you can create your keys offline if you want to be ultra-safe).

And, of course, you should educate yourself and take cybersecurity courses if your aim is to escrow money from other people, especially high amounts, because you'll be targeted by hackers, but this is very unusual.

So we could say that for 80% of Bitcoiners who "play" with satoshis, there is no need of improved cybersecurity, especially if that will make them think about it twice and abandon the idea of holding any sats; for the remaining 20% it would be advisable, but it can be ignored by simply purchasing a good hardware wallet; and for the 0.0001% of escrowers, then yes, educate yourself not only in cybersecurity but also in laws and economics before managing someone else's money, just in case.
Thank you so much sir for the advice in your response. I've learnt a lot from it as it'll help in shaping me while going forward. I sincerely appreciate
