1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Resell from KYC on: May 10, 2024, 10:59:14 AM
What's actually the purpose for?

Do you want to buy Bitcoin without submitting KYC? just use no KYC P2P or DEX, no need to ask your friend to buy behalf from him.

On the other hand, I don't understand why your friend need to hand his coins to you because he has no way to access his coins anymore, what he can is ask or force you to move the coins.

When it comes to tax, your friend will not have tax obligations since he didn't sell his coins, capital gains tax occur after you exchange coins to other assets e.g. coins, fiat etc.

The reason is that he wants to return the money to me this way. But it's probably better if he returns cash to me, and I buy peer-to-peer for cash in the traditional way. Because I don't want him to incur tax obligations after I sell those sats in the future.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Resell from KYC on: May 10, 2024, 10:36:33 AM
I would like to inform about purchasing on a KYC exchange.
My friend will buy $700 worth of Bitcoin on his account at NEXO/Binance, and he will send what he buys to MY hardware wallet Trezor.
He will have tax obligations and unnecessarily worries about how I will handle those specific sats he sends me?
And I am completely unconcerned because it doesn't matter to me where those sats come from? For me, it's the same situation as if I bought them peer to peer on the street for cash?

What does it mean for me?
What does it mean for my friend?

Edited: Thank you for answers, now I know its better to not complicate it and taking from friend cash and then buy P2P…

This is great to hear. Kudos to your friend who introduced you to Bitcoin. He is definitely someone you should keep forever because not many friends are willing to tell you the source of their income and even have the patience to guide you through it. It’s also a good thing that you listened to the advices you were given because it takes almost nothing to lose money.
I agree, and furthermore, it wasn't just a friend who helped me get acquainted with Bitcoin, but also someone who gave me many other pieces of advice. We met in the hospital when he was recovering from a serious car accident, and I was hospitalized for a planned scoliosis surgery. As you can imagine, it wasn't exactly an ideal situation for getting to know each other, and yet, despite everything, I consider it a great encounter in the end and am grateful for it.

So so sorry about what you have to go through due to your health  issues, but I am more happy knowing that you are doing OK regardless, your story concerning your journey in bitcoin is a great testimony indeed, I love the fact that you did not sell your bitcoin during the hard times, between 2022 and early parts of 2023, and that you are now reaping the reward for your endurance and continued trust in bitcoin all through this years of bear market for bitcoin and majorly the entire crypto currency market, I am happy you have won finally, and that going forward, you will only become richer and richer in bitcoin, for personally, I see no other way other than bitcoin going up from here and even into the future, atleast, from now till possibly the first quarter of next year, so, there is still a lot of money to be made for those who are already invested in bitcoin right now and are ready to patiently hold.

So, I wish us all a very good luck, and op, I am happy for you always, regardless of you being confined in a wheelchair, you are a winner already, for bitcoin is financial light, you have seen the light and that is all that matters right now.
Congratulations.
I firmly believe that if someone buys at the peak of this bull run, which awaits us in the coming months, they will endure not to sell, and they will not be broken by the significant drop that will likely follow. I believe that perhaps thanks to my story, I may contribute to the desire and strength to endure without selling after a major drop.

All the best to you, especially good health Smiley

I think anyone who enters the world of Bitcoin will be rewarded over time if they endure and do not sell in a bear market. Smiley I wish you all the best as well, especially good health - it is the most valuable asset, more than Bitcoin Smiley

Health is true wealth, actually. I really feel your pain about your health, and I hope you will recover soon. Sorry for your health condition. In summary, I realised you have enough patience to drive you into a profit zone. Besides that, your encouragement to learn about Bitcoin will play a major role in making your crypto journey successful. That's the reason why I often advise people to learn more about Bitcoin and consider it an investment opportunity. I believe other users will be inspired by your story. Currently, the DCA strategy is the most popular strategy. Day by day, we can grow our portfolio through the DCA strategy. I can say you are on the right track, and you will be a successful bitcoin investor.

Thank you. It's true that the life change when I became paralyzed and started using a wheelchair was terrible. Fortunately, just a few months after paralysis, I returned to sports, and it got me "back to the game". I am truly happy if it motivates and encourages even just one person. Judging by the responses to my story, I can only be satisfied that it has positive feedback.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When a child pays for its parents, or how to solve a stuck transaction with CPFP on: February 25, 2024, 12:22:03 AM
There is no need to send more coins to A2. That does not "replenish" anything. Here is how it is done, assuming coins were sent from A1 to A2, but the amount of the transaction fee was too low:

1. Send the entire balance of A2 (including the unconfirmed transaction) to an address in your wallet (A4), and pay a transaction fee that is enough to pay for both the A1→A2 and A2→A4 transactions.

There may be a complication. Some wallets don't allow you to send unconfirmed coins and CPFP does just that. The solution is to look in you wallet settings for an option to send unconfirmed coins and enable it just for this transaction.

Generally, you use CPFP when you are the receiver of the coins because you must control A2. However, if you don't control A2, you may still be able to use CPFP. When you send from A1 to A2 and the amount in A1 is greater than A2, then the remainder will be sent to a change address (C) in your wallet. It looks like this:

A1A2 + C

In this case:

1. Send the balance of C (including the unconfirmed transaction) to an address in your wallet (A4), and pay a transaction fee that is enough to pay for both the A1→A2+C and C→A4 transactions.

Also, sending from a specific address may require something called coin control, which is an advanced feature. If you don't want to use coin control just do this:

1. Send the entire balance of your wallet (including the unconfirmed change) to an address in your wallet (A4), and pay a transaction fee that is enough to pay for both the A1→A2 and everything→A4 transactions.

Well, in some cases, your approach may work, but not when consolidating while there are no satoshis at the destination address in a stuck transaction. That is the reason why you need to first send satoshis from address A3 to A2.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / When a child pays for its parents, or how to solve a stuck transaction with CPFP on: February 24, 2024, 10:46:57 PM

In today's article, we will look into the technical side of Bitcoin and its transaction fees, where I am going to try my best to show you how you can quickly and elegantly solve the problem of a stuck transaction caused by a low transaction fee for miners through the CPFP method (Child Pays For Parent).

There's nothing worse than feeling helpless when your payment gets stuck in 'digital limbo' because you decided to save on fees for miners. Today, we'll explore why sometimes it's better to invest a little more to keep your transactions smoother.

We often desire to minimize costs and set the lowest possible fees for our transactions. However, reality often punishes us because this tactic may not always be the best option. When your transaction gets stuck, it demands not only time but also financial losses in the form of additional overpayments. Miners are happy to let you pay for the resolution of your mistakes.

Sometimes this can happen despite all your efforts to prevent it. In a situation where fees are at 15 sat/vB, and you set it to 18 sat/vB, immediately after sending your transaction, network congestion may increase, and fees can rise to 40 sat/vB or more. There have even been cases, especially with the introduction of BRC-20 tokens on the Bitcoin network (NFT), where fees reached up to 300 sat/vB. This situation persisted for weeks, even months, leaving many transactions in the network waiting long for confirmation.
So, how to proceed correctly if your transaction gets stuck in the network? My goal is to provide you with valuable advice to minimize the risk of a stuck transaction. First and foremost, it must be said:
Do not skimp on fees! It can backfire!
I read somewhere wisdom regarding transaction fees in Bitcoin: "You can pay less, but you risk time and nerves. Or you can pay a reasonable fee and have peaceful sleep."
However, if you are already at a point where it's too late to say not to skimp on fees, let's tackle the solution using the CPFP method. The simplest method is RBF (Replace-By-Fee), but this can only be done if you chose the option to use RBF for the original stuck payment. However, this particular method won't be our focus for today.

PROBLEM AND ITS SOLUTION

Imagine a situation where you consolidate balances in your wallet, and this transaction does not go through for a long time due to increased transaction fees for miners.
You send a transaction (T1) from address "A1" to address labeled "A2," and this transaction (parent) gets stuck. However, you want to expedite the transaction because it's stuck due to a lower fee. So, you send a transaction (T2) from a new address "A3" with, for example, 100 000 satoshis and send it with a high fee to the target address of the stuck transaction (T1), i.e., to address "A2." Transaction (T2) arrives at the target address "A2." Then, you generate a new address "A4," and then choose the total balance from address "A2," and send a transaction (T3) to the newly generated address "A4" with a double recommended fee at that moment, which you can check at www.mempool.space.

To simplify the process as much as possible, it would look like this:

      1. You have the original transaction (T1) sent from address A1 to address A2 with a low fee, which gets stuck in the network.

      2. You create a new transaction (T2), where you send, for example, 100 000 satoshis from the new address A3 with a higher fee to address A2.

      3. This transaction (T2) from address A3 arrives at the target address A2, thereby replenishing resources for another transaction needed in the next step.

      4. Then, you create a new transaction (T3), where you send all satoshis from address A2 (now there are resources from the previous step) to the new address A4 with a double recommended fee, and in this case, the transaction is considered a "child" of the original transaction.

      5. When transaction (T3) to address A4 is confirmed, it causes the original stuck transaction (T1) heading to address A2 to also be confirmed because miners were motivated to mine both transactions (T1 and T3) due to the higher fees.

I firmly believe I have explained it the best way I could and helped you better understand the CPFP method.
Thank you for reading the article to the end, and I wish you smooth and fast transactions in the future.

Hello, I can't send you a private message, so I'm replying directly here. If I understand correctly, you would like to help me with some type of prosthesis that would enable me to walk again?

You probably think that I don't have legs. However, I do have them; I just can't move them. I am paralyzed from the chest down. I have severely spastic legs and cannot move them properly even with assistance. Both tendons and muscles are shortened. To make matters worse, in April of last year, I also suffered a very serious fracture in my left leg. Mobility is highly limited. I have a very strong scoliosis as well. In the coming months, I am planning to undergo surgery abroad because doctors in my country are hesitant and lack experience in such cases. The operation I had when I became paralyzed was already very complicated.
I'm not sure if any prosthesis would help me, but perhaps I misunderstood your message.

Oh my goodness, I am sorry, my friend. I didn't realize the condition was that bad; I thought it was something that the prosthesis could fix. My prayers are with you, and I hope that you find joy in the best moments of your life. Regarding what I saw a senior colleague mention earlier, you should try to maintain a confidential life here. There's no need to share pictures or even your handles to seek validation. We already believe in whatever you say, and we are hoping for the best for you. Just keep your spirits high and continue to contribute to the forum. Good luck.

No problem, actually, I'm even glad, because if I start walking, I'll lose my disabled parking permit. Ahahhh
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its impact on my life: A journey to a better tomorrow. on: February 21, 2024, 03:11:08 PM
Your story is motivation because you didn't allow your physical challenge to affect your future. Many people in your condition would have been in a state of self-pity, where they just keep on giving excuses and feeling sorry for themselves. But you took time to study how to invest, and you also summoned the courage to invest and it is now bearing good fruit. It is common to see people with disability in my country begging on the street because they feel that they don't have a future. But you are doing everything possible to gain financial stability.

Thank you for your words. It's important to say to be fair that I've had a bit more luck compared to people who are on the streets, as I had some support from my parents, and especially in the early stages when I was just living on a wheelchair in the first few months and years, it was a significant source of strength for me. Smiley

You are a very good writer, and your story/experience is very valuable to other newbies too because it gives a form of blueprint on how you were able to stay HODLing bitcoins  even as a new investor. Information is always important, and as a newbie to investing, to avoid the panic that can come from investing in bitcoins, information will help.

I hope for you@OP that your health gets better.
Thank you, I tried to write it as best as I could. All good to you, also!

There's a language barrier but your emotions I can feel it, as your expression of words is super. Stick with us let us have a good time together sharing something with each other enjoy this beautiful journey in our context. (But I need my coke on the way haha just a joke).
I just need a wheelchair, ha ha kidding. Actually, not kidding.  I really need it. O:) Cheesy
Sorry to ask again as I did not understand or get your sayings dear you still in a wheelchair or you can now walk on your feet? Well, anyhow I wish you good luck! keep growing and healthy.

Besides all that we meet such kind of person at such point when we need them, I would consider it a God help for us like God send such person to help us when we need to grow. in my case before I did not know about the Crypto space I used to do other work from where I made money and when stopped making money from there due to some problems/Reasons. Then some of my friends introduced me to the crypto world they told me about Bitcoin and Bitcoin is the First digital coin I bought at the start and when I saw myself making money from it then it brought my interest into the crypto space. From that time I used to do research about the crypto space which includes learning to overcome FOMO, how to stay away from frauds, and stay secure, best way to invest in crypto (DCA, Lump-sum) i mean I learned a lot and I am still learning. I love to learn and see the implement of my learning.
No, I haven't been able to move my legs since I was thirteen. So, it's been 17 years now since I've been in a wheelchair. I have a damaged spinal cord due to a mistake made by doctors during surgery.

The feeling when you learn something new is amazing, and when you see that progress in the field of education while gaining a deeper understanding of Bitcoin or any other industry, it's truly rewarding. Warning about FOMO is one of the first things I do when introducing someone to the world of Bitcoin.

Your story is truly amazing and absolutely inspiring to me. Taking the time to write about your history with bitcoin, I believe bitcoin has impacted many lives, especially in developing countries like mine. I have gained some level of financial freedom since I started with bitcoin, which makes even more sense now as the local currency is declining and the dollar is rising. This newfound financial independence has made me more confident than before because of bitcoin technology.

For sharing your incredible story, I am willing to donate a prosthetic for you, which will help you walk with your artificial foot for the rest of your life. I will also ensure you receive training on how to use it effectively. I'll also provide a one-year warranty for the product, so you can always have it serviced or replaced if something goes wrong within that time.

Please send me a private message if you're interested in the prosthetic, and we can discuss how to arrange its delivery. We all consider ourselves part of one family here, especially when it comes to bitcoin. This forum has brought many of us together and continues to do so. Sharing inspiring stories like yours encourages more people, especially newbies, to commit to this platform and bitcoin technology at large. Therefore, we need to offer you every support we can to help you navigate this forum and continue to fulfill your purpose here.

Thanks, it's a truly inspiring story. It proves that Bitcoin is for everyone - it doesn't matter what ethnicity, social status, skin color etc you are. If you are patient enough and make clever investment decisions you will succeed even with modest investment. Thanks, Satoshi, thanks, Bitcoin!

Oh yes, that's one aspect I'm proud of. Bitcoin, as a decentralized currency, knows no ethnicity, coloration, nation, or continent. This is one distinguishing aspect of Bitcoin. Another aspect is its decentralization, which means it cannot be controlled. Even if one tries to manipulate or hoard it, it won't affect others. There's no scarcity in Bitcoin technology, so even bad actors won't benefit disproportionately. It's difficult for governments to print too many loads of cash and end up moping the ones available, which can lead to inflation, as Bitcoin operates independently of such centralized control.

Hello, I can't send you a private message, so I'm replying directly here. If I understand correctly, you would like to help me with some type of prosthesis that would enable me to walk again?

I see that some people remain positive despite their hard situation and never give up on their hope. There are some people like you OP who still exist as you don't just look for your situation but rather see what you can do to have at least a better life. Yes, if we do not benefit from our investment today but for sure some of our family members could get it. We may not be helpful to them this time or have been a burden to them however we take the chance to help them back on the other way by having this Bitcoin investment.

I hope your story will encourage people who also have faced situations like you not to see how it is bad but rather dare to survive. And most of all, they will also see Bitcoin as an investment opportunity to give a better life.

I'm not sure if I understand exactly what you're writing. I interpret it as saying that by not always being financially independent, I was burdening my own family and being a burden to them. Now, being in Bitcoin, the burden on my parents has also decreased. So yes, that's correct. I agree with you.

In conclusion, with this contribution, I want to convey the following to people, especially those deciding to enter the world of Bitcoin: Educate yourself, stay informed, and don't panic. Only invest what you are willing to lose. I didn't come up with this advice; wiser, more experienced individuals did, and I listen to them. If you encounter any issues, reach out to people who understand it better and have valuable experience. I found support in the Bitcoin Community group on Facebook.

Very basic and static rules since bitcoin was created, but many decided to overlook the rules and do what they wish. But in the end, majority of those who disobeyed the rules cry. Many of the newbies are of the opinion that these rules are obsolete and you see them look for ways to cut corners and win the market. Some resort to investing in shitcoins, others join signal and pump and dump groups. But the basics is always better.

I agree. As they say, while the DCA method may be boring, it is the most comfortable and, on average, tends to yield more than trying to time the market for the best buying opportunities.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its impact on my life: A journey to a better tomorrow. on: February 19, 2024, 04:43:20 PM
First of all I am sorry to hear about your bad health condition. However, the fact that you have still not gave up and using crypto to make your life better speaks a lot about your character and belief. I wish you lot more success in crypto investment field. One more thing, now the market is near all time high for bitcoin. Do not get tempted to sell your bitcoin you accumulated at lower prices. Instead , hold these for 10 years at least. There is still lot of potential left in bitcoin. I feel that it will become the primary currency worldwide in future.
Certainly, I plan to hold onto Bitcoin for as long as possible, ideally until the point when it can be used directly for transactions, eliminating the need to convert to fiat currency. However, each year I incur significant financial expenses for medical supplies, so I can only choose a small portion each time to cover the remaining costs. Nonetheless, I won't be selling everything, even at the peak of the next cycle.
A sad story, but it is full of hope and renewed opportunities. I hope that the year 2024 will be much better for you and that you will achieve what you were unable to achieve in the past year, but relying on Bitcoin to overcome financial problems may not be ideal, especially with the high price fluctuation, so it is better to have Bitcoin as an investment in the future of something after at least 5 years.
I agree with you. I consider Bitcoin as an investment for the future.
Firstly I feel bad about your health.

Well if we talk about the whole story of your Bitcoin journey as you narrated your friend suggested you to invest in Bitcoin these kinds of friends are very rare who give you the best advice so that they can also see so becoming a successful person along with them. well in my case, I also started investing in Bitcoin at my friends suggestion, and the best thing I did my own research as well before jumping into the crypto space which is always recommended for every investor who is coming into it.

On the other hand, your faith in Bitcoin will surely return you the best reward because you were having lose at first but you did not withdraw your amount and started to accumulate more and more at lower price which is a really nice action of yours. 2024-2025 will be the best year for crypto investors where the market will return the best reward who were holding tightly.

Everything is okay.  You don't have to feel bad. I've been in a wheelchair for many years. I ended up in a wheelchair after an unsuccessful scoliosis surgery when I was 13. Now I'm 30, so I've had enough time to learn to live with it.
Yes, it is true that such friends are a great rarity in life. I met this particular friend in the hospital when he was recovering from a serious car accident. Even though both of us experienced unfortunate events that led us to the hospital, it also brought some positives. Since I am in a wheelchair, at least I have the opportunity to park close to the entrance at shopping centers. And my legs no longer hurt.  Grin Grin Grin

... thanks to all Smiley

Sorry about your health. I hope the new wheelchair helps you get around better and other health remedies have desired effect.

I never really knew there was a Bitcoin community on Facebook, I don't use the app much anymore though, so I'm not a good information source. Bitcoin is easy to understand and use when you have the right resource material and use the learning channel that gives you the best results.

I couldn't find the channel you recommended, would you mind sharing the actual account name. I enjoy finding good Bitcoin content especially on YouTube.
Hey Smiley It's a YouTube channel that is in the Czech language; you probably won't understand it much. But here is the link www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z92ADb5i42s&list=PLiD1OrtvRy70RQ8k5HH0E3vHQPpEIJJhZ

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin and its impact on my life: A journey to a better tomorrow. on: February 18, 2024, 07:52:24 PM
I remember that day perfectly. I was quite unhappy with my health and financial instability. After multiple successful and unsuccessful surgeries, I found myself reliant on a wheelchair. Unfortunately, the limitations extended beyond just the inability to move my legs; there were significant financial costs associated with various aspects, from purchasing quality medical aids to dealing with the progression of the illness. These were the reasons for my frustration up until 2021.
On that day, when it all began, I had no idea that a phone call with a friend shortly before midnight would change everything. Lee, I am immensely grateful for that! After a long discussion, a particular sentence stuck in my mind when he likened Bitcoin to a train waiting at the station for the last passengers to board and experience a remarkable journey. That was the first time I experienced FOMO firsthand.

During my initial purchase, I was not familiar with the DCA method, and I made a mistake by investing more than I could afford due to the fear of missing out. However, I felt incredible when it went a few percent into profit. Subsequently, it dropped by more than 50%, only to surpass the previous all-time high shortly after, and then the market finally flushed it out. At that point, I felt less fantastic. Fortunately, I did not withdraw the money at a loss., held onto it, and continued to HODL and gradually accumulate, thanks to information from the internet and gaining familiarity with Bitcoin.

A big thanks go to Bitcoin Channel (Czech), where he created a series of videos titled "Introduction to Bitcoin," which I watched multiple times. The information was presented in a simple and understandable way, often with a touch of humor. I still occasionally revisit them, and the information that initially I did not understand now makes sense. I share this video series with others who I want to introduce to the world of Bitcoin, offering them valuable information to study and decide whether to dive in. I am incredibly grateful to my friend for pulling me into this.

Studying the content in the Bitcoin Channel has added a lot to my life. I had no idea how little I understood traditional finances until I study them. I was taken aback by a video where I learned that the big-dollar is not backed by anything, that it really is just about trust in the state. I was amazed at how complex Bitcoin is from a technical standpoint, yet how simple it is to use. Comparisons to a microwave or the internet showed me that we don't have to understand what's happening behind the scenes technically – codes, hashes, nonce, blockchain, and the others. Just as the average population doesn't know how a microwave works, they just press a button and heat up their food. When you want to find information on the internet, you don't have to worry about how your device connects to the server and communicates in the background with the other side. You simply type what you're looking for, press enter, and there it is. You don't even realize the technical aspect of how money is leaving your payment card, and yet it is a widespread method of payment worldwide.

Fortunately, I didn't lose faith in Bitcoin when the market hit its low in November 2022. I continued to accumulate in small portions, significantly improving my average purchase price from the previous entry during the peak of the bull market, thanks to the DCA method. I'm excited to see the reward for enduring the stress and holding on, even when things were tight. Now, with a pleasant profit, I know that I won't have to ask for help with the down payment on a new wheelchair or other expenses related to my health in the future. And I achieved this pleasant profit before reaching the ATH of 2021. What will happen with greater adoption? When the entry of large institutions fully manifests? When the next halving occurs? When FOMO grips new people entering Bitcoin? I don't know. But I firmly believe that this small appreciation will gradually increase, and I will fulfill my dream of financial independence, with an ongoing improvement in the quality of my life.

If my story helps someone when they find themselves in the same situation as I was when buying at the peak of the bull run, I will consider myself successful, and it will have made sense to write it.

I wish everyone, especially those who managed to read this far, robust health!

Thank you, Satoshi!

Long time ago I was working so hard to buy Bitcoin but I couldn't because I had no job, but starting from this
month of January I have gotten a new job that pays me 5 figures a month and I just use $110 from my salary to buy Bitcoin,so as today is the last day of the month I just bought Bitcoin with part of my salary.
However, I bought it from a 3rd party through the help of a co-worker at my working place.

So, is it safe for me to store my coin there or is there any other wallet I can use to store my coins? I know of electron but apart from the electron is there any other wallet which is safe?.
My profile shows that I am still new on Bitcointalk and I would say with my actions I am very interested in learning more about the accumulation process so I can gain more Bitcoin.

Congratulations on your first satoshis! Smiley Whenever you accumulate a larger amount of satoshis, ideally 0.01 or more, it's ideal to send it to a hardware wallet - I use Trezor. And I wish you good luck in not only collecting a lot of satoshis but also a whole Bitcoin! Cheesy

My plan is to accumulate Bitcoin until it reaches its all-time high, and then I will buy a new wheelchair. In case Bitcoin doesn't reach a new all-time high by the end of May, I'll have to take a little piece of Bitcoin earlier Cheesy
