1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: People massively fleeing /r/bitcoin to /r/btc on reddit on: November 09, 2015, 04:07:43 PM
I personally don't use reddit as I don't really like it but may browse something when I'm linked to it but people should use whichever one they prefer. If you don't like how one place is moderated use the other one but I'm sure some people will also have gripes with how the other is modded but people are free to choose.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Georgia’s UniPAY Brings Bitcoin to 55,000 Active Users on: October 26, 2015, 06:21:14 PM
We really need more of these payment provider services taking on board bitcoin as it is vital for actually being able to spend bitcoin. I really hope even things like applepay get on board at some point but hopefully in the future we'll just be able to use bitcoin without them.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where will the price of BTC be at the end of 2015? on: October 11, 2015, 11:48:04 AM
A liittle higher than what it is now. It always seems to rise a little nov/december but I don't think by much. Nearer the halving next year will probably see the greatest rise.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen to bitcoin if it became reversible like paypal? on: September 28, 2015, 11:38:57 AM
Would you still use and believe in bitcoin if it became reversible, say if satoshi himself managed the disputes like paypal does?

It would defeat the purpose of it and ruin it. If you want this sort of protection use a payment processor (like paypal also is).

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Direct download link to the Andreas Antonopoulos @ London Real podcast episode? on: August 26, 2015, 05:04:11 PM
I like the London Real interviews but it's annoying he's trying to get you to sign up on his site now to try sell you some investment crap. Musy've got the idea from Tai Lopez who he had on a while back.

Another typical  Andreas Antonopoulos interviews were he tells us that bitcoin isn't the bitcoin 2009 anymore and that bitcoin can change the global economic market. I would find it interesting if he did a debate with varoufakis about bitcoin.

Where can I see this interview? Skinte please link Smiley

Which interview? There's a link in the op or go to the london real website to see it full, but there is no debate with varoufakis if that's what you mean.
8  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I take revenge if a member is picking up on me? on: August 13, 2015, 09:37:32 AM

I wouldn't waste your time. Trolls like to get a rise out of people and if you're going to post here or especially create a crapcoin you'll need a thicker skin. Just ignore him and move on.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin supply discussion/suggestion on: August 13, 2015, 09:32:57 AM
should we add proof of stake to the bitcoin? NO
should we increase the supply limit (i mean to have more bitcoins)? NO
is the maximum supply (apparently) good? YES
is the bitcoin deflationary a good deal? YES
is bitcoin sustainable based on supply? YES
would you sure that newbies would be easy to get with bitcoin in the future? YES

The number of bitcoins that will ever be available should never be changed. It's 21m and that should be set in stone.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook group to estimate number of Bitcoin users on: August 03, 2015, 08:23:24 AM
So you want to guage how many bitcoin users there are by how many people join your facebook group? Looks like a cheap way to try get likes in my opinion.
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: How often do you check bitcoin price? on: August 03, 2015, 08:20:32 AM
I used to check it several times a day now I don't really care about the price today that much. However, I do have the winkdex app on my phone so I see it often then but it's not something I really check religiously.
12  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Gambling on: July 19, 2015, 02:55:50 PM
So my next question.. How are they still operating on the open web?

Lol, how does everything else operate on the open web? Torrent sites, warez sites etc etc. Not all things are illegal everywhere. Some countries ban gambling and porn, but people can freely view them online. Usually the sites are hosted in countries with lax preferences on this or outside the jurisdiction of the certain law enforcement agencies that would take them down. If they were hosted in the US they likely would get taken down pretty fast.

Good point, got any examples of the countries with laid back gambling laws?

Just find out where all the bitcoin gambling sites are hosted haha. Are you thinking of making one? I do think that they'll start cracking down on them eventually regardless of where they're hosted.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: July 19, 2015, 02:54:28 PM
I recommend Trading altcoins, but trading is very risky in general.
This is my method :

1 make a coin
2 make a game
3 make profit

The two first steeps are indeed difficult

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1051731.0

Ultracheap now
long term holding

Make a coin? You mean make an alt? This doesn't really grown your bitcoin. Making a gambling game is also a good way to lose money if you're not careful. Many sites get hacked.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: July 16, 2015, 07:02:38 PM
I'm choosing to buy at the crashes, then hold long term. Hopefully profit that way. Can't be bothered gambling them on trading for little short term returns escpeically when I sense big long term gains.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I offer Lending with my current rank? on: July 16, 2015, 06:59:44 PM
Yes,you can offer lending but you can't ask for loans without a valid collateral.

I think the tricky part for him will be getting or securing the collateral. You'll likely have to use an escrow for that as others likely wont trust you. I don't think there's much point in lending any way. The tips or interest are tiny and if you don't take collateral you'll get scammed.
16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Montana polygamist family applies for marriage license on: July 02, 2015, 03:06:46 PM
Polygamy should be de jure legal, as it is already de facto legal. If an individual is allowed to have two girl-friends at the same time, then why can't he be allowed to have two wives? At least marriage means that the person will have to show some responsibility towards his wives and children, in case they breakup.

In case of a divorce or inheritance who gets to keep the kids, the house? How does that work in polygamist societies?

How would children get it when there's more than one? Split it evenly. Don't know why people feel the need to make their wives official in the eyes of the law any way. Get a will or just have a private ceremony. Doesn't need to be officially married.
17  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-15] TheGuardian: Reddit users flee to Swiss copy Voat on: June 18, 2015, 10:10:36 AM
“hamplanethatred” pmsl.

So, it's time for a decentralized reddit?
No one can delete something. (Only private key owner sends a signal to network to delete a post). It might be nice. But how to organize such massive posts?

Yeah. I think for any censorship free discussion decentralized forums or social networks may be the best option, though being censor free can always run into problems.
18  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US to charge FIFA for corruption! on: June 18, 2015, 10:08:06 AM
New news, sounds like the US is proposing that the Qatar and Russia World Cup host awards be revoked, claiming that they were earned through bribes. This would put both of these World Cup host dates up for reassignment to other countries!

Wonderful. So the 2018 World Cup will be hosted in the United Kingdom (as they were the runners up in the vote for hosting rights), and the 2022 World Cup will be hosted in the United States. The American domination of FIFA is now complete. Let me see if Domenico Scala holds enough power to put in practise what he says.

Now that would be funny if they were hosted there. USA and UK would stil probably have to bribe someone to get them though. There will be long legal battle though from Russia and Qatar to keep them though. I personally can't see them revoking them.
19  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US to charge FIFA for corruption! on: June 05, 2015, 09:09:14 AM
I wonder if the contracts with Russia and Qatar have any get out clauses.

Get out clauses on which sides? If the hosts bought them which it's looking like they did then they're not going to want to pull out and FIFA was the one who sold them so they're not going to have a chance to get out either. Maybe there will be some lawsuits or the hosts will be disqualified.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: June 05, 2015, 09:05:51 AM
I think it's none of the above and probably nobody we've even suspected. He's probably just some random geek who came up with a great idea and just put it out into the world.

Add Tatsuaki Okamoto on the poll

Tatsuaki Okamoto out of the suggested people definitely has the best chances so far to be Satoshi, there are a whole lot of similarities.

Like what? I think the name is far too similar. No point using an alias like this.
