1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What the f*ck is Curaçao doing in the World Cup? on: Today at 06:03:31 AM
Curacao qualified to be in the world cup just as other teams that were there as well, they didn't just take themselves there. Every country you see playing in the world cup actually merited it. The main reason why you are probably asking this question is because of how small the country is but All of that doesn't actually mean anything. Curacao also deserves to be in the world cup just like every other country. Some big countries didn't even get the opportunity to be in the world cup but a small country like Curacao actually did.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: someone hit a x3704 odds in sports betting. on: June 16, 2026, 11:58:07 PM
Such odds are not easy to win but it is not really impossible because some bettors have been able to win way more than this odds. But the problem with this is how it affects other bettors mindset about making profits,  some people start gambling to chase wins after seeing that someone won such a high odd. I remember when a bettor won millions of naira with a stake of less than a dollar this made people gamble more through out the entire month and their desperation to win made them lose a lot of money.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on totals instead of picking the winner? on: June 16, 2026, 11:07:27 PM
Although eveyone has their own options to bet on that's more comfortable for them and it doesn't mean that one option is more profitable than the other but the main point I'm trying to make here is the fact that when betting on a particular option it should not just be based on the odds provided by the bookmakers. A lot of people ignore totals and go for either the home or away team to win because the odds are of low value but that doesn't determine the outcome.  your bets should be based on statistical analysis.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What determines the outcome of a match? on: June 16, 2026, 10:17:06 PM
The public doesn't really have any influence over the outcome of a match, if a lot of people place a bet on a particular team to win the match it only affects the market meaning that the odds will tend to reduce drastically because the market is in favour of that team but this doesn't affect the outcome of the match or improves how the team plays, in some cases the favorite ends up winning and those that are able to bet against the public ends up winning. what determines the outcome of a match isn't really public opinions.

7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sticking with the Favorites : World Cup edition on: June 15, 2026, 03:48:56 PM
From what you have said, it seems you are putting in effort to managing the risks by avoiding somethings like the martingale, roll overs and so on. It is always important to avoid anything that increases the risks no matter the strategy you decide to follow. But one thing that you should know is that it is very risky to stick to just the favorites alone especially when betting on competitions like the world cup because a country that you least expect might end up winning. As a bettor that's strategic this is something you must be conscious of .

18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman who asked for life time ban removed from casino after winning jackpot on: June 04, 2026, 04:20:23 PM
The truth is that she's not supposed to take the money because it's an agreement. If she takes the money then she has broken the self exclusion rules. Self exclusion is like a contract, and if you continue gambling else were you have breaking the rules. I believe that the reason why she excluded her self from gamble was because gamble was getting her into serious financial troubles. If by any chance they allow her to go with the money others might try the same thing in the future.
Although for the fact that the casino didn't stopped her from entering and gambling is another serious argument here, but from my point of view, she's not supposed to take the money and the casino are not to blame either because they didn't force her to enter and gamble.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any remarkable thing you have done with your gambling winning? on: June 03, 2026, 10:19:12 PM
I got my first laptop from the profits that I made from sports betting and this was cery helpful to me. prior to that time I was the type of gambler that would just use up all my wins to stake again and most times i always end up losing. it is better to withdraw your wins immediately and use them to do something reasonable than getting greedy and end up losing everything. not every gambler is capable of doing this because it takes a certain level of discipline to be able to withdraw profits made from gambling without thinking of chasing more.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the major thing that attracts you more to gamble? on: June 03, 2026, 08:50:21 PM
The third point is the most popular and common among lots of gamblers because that's the reason why a lot of people gamble. In my opinion I think that there's nothing wrong in gambling to multiply stake or make profit but the main thing is about making sure that you always stick to gambling responsibly. making profit is different from making gambling a source of income, some gamblers get attracted to gambling because they think that they can make it a profession until they find out that it is impossible to achieve.
