The monthly period gives users more time to write quality posts, not having to think about reaching x posts quickly just to get paid out.
This makes for better commitment and seriousness in my opinion, and also allows us to respond to you faster rather than having to deal with campaign hoppers.

-no offtopic/other signature campaigns
-no anti gambling posts obviously (Do I really have to stress that?)
-enlistments/resignations will be processed once a week or earlier

Weekly is a benefit for you guys and I can't be bothered with rolling over etc.

@the argument in favor of a big hotwallet:
Real addicts will just re-deposit anyway. I personally know a few regulars that do exactly that, nothing could stop them from doing so.
This is bitcoin. People are "their own bank", they are responsible for themselves. They don't need to be treated like kids.

A small hotwallet will be implemented soon. Doing big withdrawals manually via the coldwallet is safer for everybody. And I suppose Dean will scale it with the site growth if needed.

I think they idea is great. Needs some trustworthy third party auditing though.

The most important target right now is to get people to actually use their available security options. Even some easy and free tools like GPG.. (which is actually not 100% secure in terms of tracking depending on usage, but it's a start) just spreading the awareness.
