Has squall indicated that he would be willing to accept a smaller amount in order to settle his debts?
There really is no point. Dank has made it more than clear he doesn't intend to pay anymore back. Spending money on drugs is more important to him.
There is no point dank still being a member of this forum.
If I had to repay $10,000 from a $800 loan then I would most likely not attempt to repay, and I think most people are the same way. This is especially true considering that dank probably sold the bitcoin he borrowed and did not plan on earning in terms of bitcoin but in terms of fiat.

Yes the 52 BTC that was lent would be worth a lot more then $10,000 now but asking for that much back is simply not realistic. I think he would make an attempt to pay him back if squall were to make a reasonable settlement offer.

I wouldn't click on the link as it appears to be a malicious site according to

14603  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTB] forum accounts VIP/Donator only on: November 15, 2014, 04:09:21 PM
Out of interest, have you sold many accounts recently? If so, what are roughly the accounts going for? I guess with the lack of campaigns they must've lost quite a bit of value.
Account sales have been very slow recently. I have sold maybe between 10 and 20 over the last two weeks but only to a few repeat customers and at large discounts that I would not normally give; I only gave the discounts because they were buying accounts at once.

Recent prices:
  • Potential member account but needing ~10 posts to get member status - .03 - .04 range
  • Actual member accounts - .07 - .08 range
  • Full member accounts - .12 - .13 range
  • Haven't been able to sell any senior or hero accounts recently :/

I also sold them that low because most of my inventory is unproductive right now and posting is so slow that it is difficult to make non-spam posts with my lower level accounts so they can have enough posts to even potentially participate in a signature campaign.

I do believe that we will see higher paying signature campaigns in the future and account values will rebound. I have spent ~2.5 buying up senior and full member accounts at prices that would be considered a steal 5 months ago. The current environment is probably actually good for me because sellers will abandon their accounts by either forgetting their password(s), simply not checking back here to see that prices have increased so supply will hopefully decrease or increase less then it otherwise would. Also a lot of farmers are getting banned for spamming and BadBear seems to be getting better at weeding out spammers who spam across multiple accounts.
14604  Other / Meta / Re: Change of username on: November 15, 2014, 07:20:16 AM
I guess that 60 seconds might be a little high, but I think that 10 seconds is probably low as well. My calculation does leave out the "cost" of shit that the staff/mods take, especially the very efficient ones (just looks at how many threads that mprep has about him). Also buying a donator account would guarantee that you have access to donator forums, while reporting lots of posts would only increase the chances of becoming staff.

I would say that the "cost" of reporting enough posts to become staff would eventually decline to zero if you stay staff long enough as you would get a portion of 25% of ad revenue plus the ability to participate in PD

If you're a person that takes stuff to heart and has a thin skin then being a mod here really isn't for them, but the btc would be worth putting up with occasional shit for me anyway (plus it usually only comes from scolded crybabies which I have zero respect for).
True, however I would think it would get somewhat annoying after a while. Although the forum seems to have a policy of responding with satire when invalid/crazy claims are made.
Becoming staff guarantees you access to the donator forum as well (unless that's changed in the future), but being a donator doesn't get you access to the staff forum.
I don't see how the donator forum would be able to be moderated if the staff does not have access. I don't think the donator forum is active enough to warrant a dedicated moderator and the global mods are probably too busy to keep an eye on the donator forum without help.
I recently had the opportunity to buy a donator account for <.5 BTC but couldn't because I didn't accept the sellers offer before he sold the account to someone else, so it may be cheaper to buy a donator account, but then again earning a staff account would result in some level of income from their work.

Are you sure it was a legit sale? And you would earn that btc back in a few months if you're very active.
Not 100% sure, however I did check all the VIP and donator accounts and did find several that had their passwords changed during the subject time frame, including two that matched the description of what the seller was offering, so I would say there was a good chance the account was actually sold.
14605  Other / Meta / Re: Why was I banned? on: November 15, 2014, 06:53:29 AM
Only if someone posts a request with the reasons publicly in the admin forum which is what usually happens, but regular mods can't see banned on their profile or anything.
It might as well be there as someone could easily check the modlog and search their "U#" and could find out they are banned.
14606  Other / Meta / Re: Change of username on: November 15, 2014, 06:28:28 AM
91% is perfectly fine and you don't need to report as many posts as I did as I'm probably an extreme case. Most of the other mods only seem to have had a few hundred reports before they got asked. I also think your calculations are way off as well. Reporting a post takes probably less than ten seconds. If you spend a decent amount of time at this site (which you seem to do) then it's pretty easy to just report posts as you come across them via your normal active browsing and you don't exactly have to 'hunt' them out.

14607  Other / Meta / Re: Change of username on: November 15, 2014, 06:06:44 AM
Told you it would probably be easier that way than just trying to buy a donator account  Cheesy.
IIRC you had ~1500 reported posts with a 97% accuracy rate when you were promoted verses the ~190 posts with a 91% accuracy rate (although a good number of my "bad" reports was the result of someone else's misunderstanding of when certain posts should be deleted). Assuming that a staff position is guaranteed after 1500 reports (it is not) and that it takes 60 seconds to find and make a report then it would take ~1200 minutes, or ~20 hours. Assuming my time is worth ~$20 per hour then this would "cost" ~$400 or ~1 BTC.

I recently had the opportunity to buy a donator account for <.5 BTC but couldn't because I didn't accept the sellers offer before he sold the account to someone else, so it may be cheaper to buy a donator account, but then again earning a staff account would result in some level of income from their work.
14608  Other / Meta / Re: Why was I banned? on: November 15, 2014, 05:57:10 AM
Could a moderator please review my account and hopefully unban me? If a mod replies, I will send them my account profile. Thanks!

Post your name here. People can make their own minds up whether you were spamming or not. Was it Iamyourdad by any chance?
If this was the case then he has a good number of two sentence posts (hence his claim of having more "useful" posts then he did before) on the first page of his post history; although there are also a good number of less then one sentence posts as well.
14609  Other / Meta / Re: Change of username on: November 15, 2014, 05:51:43 AM
Global moderators can change their own name and title.
Staff (moderators, patrollers) can change their own name, but not title.
So there are ways to change your name without shelling out 50 BTC (plus staff apparently has access to the donator section as well). Maybe I should try to step up my reporting "game" a little bit
14610  Other / Meta / Re: Change of username on: November 15, 2014, 05:14:13 AM

(I did notice that you added a custom title)

I'm new and improved.
Can only administrators create a custom title or can lower level mods/staff do so as well? (I know that VIPs also have this ability)
14611  Other / Meta / Re: Change of username on: November 15, 2014, 05:10:21 AM
I'm just waiting to see how many more posts we get before people notice I changed it. Tongue

I don't typically do it but it's the same name, just capitalization that changed, no biggie.
I guess another way to change your username is to become an administrator.

(I did notice that you added a custom title)

EDIT: According to this thread your username was capitalized the same back in August.
14612  Other / Meta / Re: Change of username on: November 15, 2014, 04:30:15 AM
afaik donator status allows you to change your username?
but i dont know how much you'll have to pay for it these days - used to be 50btc
Donator status does not allow you to change your username, and the price to become a donator is 10 BTC.

If you were to donate 50 BTC to the forum then you would become a VIP and could change his username.

If the username is already taken then even a VIP account would not be able to help the OP
14613  Other / Meta / Re: Why was I banned for ten days for posting articles in politics and society? on: November 15, 2014, 04:27:05 AM
Dank, did you know someone made a tool to track how much you've paid back? lol

http://65.26.252.225/hdpsby/
The amount that dank owes to squall is so great because squall made a bitcoin loan to Dank when the price was very low, and the price eventually skyrocketed. The fiat value of the bitcoin that dank borrowed from squall at the time the bitcoin was originally sent to him was ~$800.

Has squall indicated that he would be willing to accept a smaller amount in order to settle his debts?
14614  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 10BTC loan [Collateral inside] - payback 1 month with 10% interest on: November 15, 2014, 04:23:32 AM
Who wants to lend the 10BTC you or me? Global Scam Buster? Check my trust and see all the scams I busted - then we can talk again. I don't need a fat green colour under my name to bust scams,if you don't like what I am doing, then move on.

Sadly you're not the first 'Bitcoin Police' and I'll doubt you'll be the last.
What's even more sad, is that some of the entities involved in previous incarnations of the 'Bitcoin Police' have included Aethero (stole over 900BTC), SynOps and ElevatedDownfall.

Unfortunately having a trustworthy name does not indicate that a person is trustworthy.

Amen to that. The way I see it, he's crazed for attention trying to look like he's helping people, while really he's just being offensive as fuck, and increasing his post count while doing it.

He could get into a signature campaign later on, offer services such as escrow or get a moderator position but only if its work is valued; if it is not he won't get anything except the satisfaction of the work done. I don't have a problem with it since he is only responding to posts that have a high scam potential, it is probably helping a little bit.
He very much could not offer escrow/moderator services. In order to offer either of these services he needs to be trusted within the community and have participated in many trades within the community, which he has not done.

From the looks of it, he is trying to build up trust for him to be able to eventually scam, as evidenced in his initial offer to do a 10 BTC loan with the borrower sending the collateral directly to him. I don't think anyone will fall for his scam.

Update: I got banned again! I do not understand! I was posting and just got banned! This time I tryed to make my posts longer+more helpful and I still got banned! Could a moderator please review my account and hopefully unban me? If a mod replies, I will send them my account profile. Thanks!
How could you have gotten banned again? Your OP is from November 10th, and it says you were banned for 14 days. It is now 4 days later, which would mean you still have 10 days left on your original ban

I posted this days after I got banned the first time.
What is the username of your account that was banned?

14617  Economy / Lending / Re: 17 BTC Loan Provider on: November 14, 2014, 05:41:26 PM
I have  up to 17 BTC that I can lend out to different people.  IF your a serious borrower, PM me how much you need. We can discuss loan duration and interest rate.  COLLATERAL a must. Don't bother if you can't provide collateral.

SCAM-POTENTIAL = 100%

Newbie offering 17BTC loan in first post. Collateral is a must?
This turd will steal your collateral.
I don't think this is unreasonable. He probably does not want to associate the fact that he is lending with his "main" account and probably doesn't have trust with his main account either.

Also:

ALL collateral should be held by a trusted third party.
If the borrower follows this rule then the collateral will not be at risk as long as the borrower repays as agreed
14618  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a 0.2 BTC loan on: November 14, 2014, 05:54:28 AM
Maybe selling his account at a good price or maybe he really needs it , the payback is good the time period is good too , so a bit confusion Tongue
If he is selling his account via a loan then it is not at a good price as very few people are interested in buying accounts right now due to the lack of sig deals.
14619  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a 0.2 BTC loan on: November 14, 2014, 05:39:27 AM
Are you the same person as picolo?

Your loan request is almost exactly the same as his and only made ~30 minutes after his.

I think that you both are asking for too large of a loan to use only your account as collateral.
you are wrong sir you can check https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=750507.msg9487730#msg9487730 and you can ask

Magic8Ball i talk with him in PM before openening this topic about a loan but my

request was denieded.

Your loan request with macrotheminer was denied. I am just saying that the verbiage was almost identical to piccolo.

I am correct in saying that the amount you are asking to borrow is much too much and you will likely not be able to get anyone to lend you .2 for a senior member account.

what would stop you from recovering your account from btc-e?
