Vitalik also stated that they will change the algo if they see an asic coming out.
For the gpu-guys it's a software-update - for the ASIC it's a death-sentence

Hey Jstefanop,

you might wanna tell bitmain to stop their false advertising, they still claim that the L3+ is the most efficient litecoin-miner Tongue
You have 1.3 W / MH which meant an L3+ with 500 MH built with your ASIC-chip would consume 650 Watts. 700 if your controller-board and the fans were really shitty.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ANTMINER D3 on: October 02, 2017, 10:02:33 PM
hey give me the cash instead, i have a "D3" for 1200 Euro wink wink
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A5 DashMaster 30.2G 750W on: October 02, 2017, 07:40:44 PM
You can bet your ass on Bitmain not sitting on their hands the whole time.
I would not pronounce them dead or about to loose their almost-monopoly just yet.
These new companies will have to request capacities at TSMC /Globalfoundries once they have their chip ready to put on silicon.
They will not have own fabs. Even Apple and AMD mostly use TSMC, because a FAB costs more than a bilion to build.
In the end whoever can go in production first will be leading. Intel has shown that nm is not everything.
The 14NM Intel-chips are as effective as the other 10NM chips are.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 02, 2017, 06:30:48 PM
We will see who win.

Interesting test indeed. What i see on zpool a lot is that it takes ages for some coin to mature according to the view.
I stopped mining to my BTC-address because of the fees a while ago and there are still some coins shown as immature for scrypt and x11.

A lot of other stuff like birthmark seems to take ages until it is ready for cash-out.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Solar powered CPU mining on: October 02, 2017, 06:12:43 PM
People mostly now a days using solar power for earning their  money.

in most places it's about selling the energy subsidized to get profit out of it after some years.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 02, 2017, 11:44:33 AM
I using multi pool for first time, so I dont know is this payment method is best option, or I should switch to some other coin?

You can use dash as payout, i did that. Or LTC. The price of it dropped big time with the china-ban so it could go up. Or you convert it to btc once a week @ shapeshift.
I had some temp issues at my mine so i manually set the fans to 100%. Since then i had no more hashrate-drops. The drops began randmonly when temps were > 71C°

well - if you are really good at coding you could build your own and dry-run it to see how it does.
There are not so many people out there who are good devs for such algo.
Keep in mind that for an algo to work not just for you it becomes way more complicated.
Also this low marketcap-crap is kind of a hot potato in your hands. You wanna sell it asap. Minimum sell-order @ most exchanges is 15$.
With just one miner you will aquire a few $ from that crap-coin. Once you have enough to sell, the pump & dump already moved on and its worthless again.
You cannot just look at the current rate and then stuff everything from usb-miner to industry-grade ASIC in one group and let them mine it for the short time it seems profitable.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: October 02, 2017, 11:32:38 AM
It's def getting a much higher magnitude right now.
I believe that it also brings in people who are not knowing about it much, but the guys who come in now will educate themself over time.
Once the adaption raises, the real idiots who can barely use a computer will come and then we're in a real bubble imho.

prepare a version 1.1 without the chinese flag  Wink
The great chinese firewall is way more resourceful than people imagine.
People who say "just use vpn or tor" obviously haven't been there over an extended period or were lucky to have corporate vpn.

So you can choose only algo, and not specific coin? pity...
and how zpool determines, what is the best coin in specific algo to mine?

It's just much more profitable that way - but you can go to one of the many other yyimp-based pools and mine one coin all the time if you prefer it.
The data about diff and current price etc. can be pulled from sources like whattomine.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Issue with mining on Windows 10 on: October 01, 2017, 10:58:43 PM
Boot this thing with one of the many good mining-os-versions on a usb-stick.
If it stays same, you might have to swap the cards around to find the culprit (card/riser/mainboardslot)
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: X11 Mining Pool for D3 on: October 01, 2017, 10:56:29 PM
ProHashing = ProCrashing since a few months. Payout really su***ed ass too
Despite all that controversy i liked to use zpool for my x11.
If you are in it for micromanaging the sale of these tiny marketcap-coins you can mine yourself, you can look at granatagas and so on.
They have a simliar concept like HashToCoins.
Keep in mind that zpool is not insta-exchanging every coin you were mining so the payout can be a bit delayed.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain L3+ September batch delivery delayed on: October 01, 2017, 10:52:43 PM
My miners which were due for end of September came end of August - while i was in Japan lol
It can go both ways somehow.

158  Local / Projektentwicklung / [inaktiv] Unterstützung für deine Mining-Operation on: October 01, 2017, 11:58:17 AM
Hallo allerseits,

- Asset-Management
- Risk management (Operational security)
- Mining-Strategien
- Trading
- Dokumentation
- Monitoring

Da ich mich mittlerweile mehr mit anderen Themen befasse, setze ich mein Angebot bist auf weiteres aus.
159  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk signature on: October 01, 2017, 10:15:54 AM
Has anyone had this error:

An Error Has Occurred!
You are not permitted to modify profile settings.

Since some ppl with Signatures have the same rank i have i think that the rank is not the culprit.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: how to validate if used AntMiner was overclocked on: October 01, 2017, 09:31:26 AM
I do not think so, it is broken and the code would be the give away. Why not just trash it. Broken is broken and you can replace it for anywhere from $200 to $5000. You never mentioned which model and the higher the cost does not mean that it is worth fixing, rather that it is more complex and costly to fix.

I was thinking about L3+ and D3. Let's assume your hashing-board is all x-es in the last row. Then you would ship in the hashing-board and not the whole thing.
There are possiblities to make some kind of seal for overclocking sofware-wise. A value being flipped on a memory-chip on the hashing-board for example.
Since i've only seen pictures of these hashing-boards i am not sure if they have that. Or if they just assume overclocking if there is some kind of damage on the chips.
