1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the most secure BTC futures exchange with good trading volume? on: April 03, 2024, 02:00:51 PM
Maybe you can always check Coinmarketcap to see many exchanges you can use to trade future and try your luck.
We have good exchanges like Binance, Bybit, Kucoin, OKX etc that can enable you to trade with less tax and free.
Please make sure you do the necessary research because most of these exchanges are limited in some regions so it's good you try and know where they are limited so you don't get restricted later after you fund your account. There are centralized exchanges.
He can use Coinmarketcap but I will prefer Coingecko which has been listed up because Binance has already bought Coinmarketcap years ago and he will use that to favour itself as the best exchanges and superior to other exchanges but which is not true. There are many other exchanges just like the ones that you mentioned like Bybit and OKX.

Thank you for your reply.

I will try Bybit, Bitget and Deribit  as these I never used before.

Why quarterly/delivery contracts in particular? What advantage do they have over perpetual contracts that are offered by most of the crypto exchanges?
Anyway try checking out Binance, OKX, Kucoin and Bybit if you are not from a restricted country. Bitmex was OK back then, but their trading volumes started to plummet when regulators started putting a lot of pressure on them.

Hello, Sorry for late reply beeen traveling and I only use this fourm on my workstation.

the reason why I prefer delivery contracts is because I simply do not pay any funding fees for my swing positions and its really worth it when you have a large position that you would like to keep open for days/weeks.

Bitmex was good I use it but their trading volume sucks not only because of regulations but also they are not improving anything on their platform- they keep adding shitcoins to trade futures thinking it will bring revenue rather than focusing on UX friendly design.

3  Economy / Trading Discussion / What is the most secure BTC futures exchange with good trading volume? on: March 14, 2024, 04:05:55 PM
Hello,

I'm looking for a reputable exchange that offers BTC futures with good volume on quarterly/delivery contracts

I currently use bitmex but their delivery contract volume is so low - its highest per 24h is 3-4M$

I'm aware of binance and okex they seem to have good products with high volumes but would like to know if there are more out there?

Thanks

5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Market gaps BTC & other markets in general on: December 17, 2023, 05:51:21 PM
Hello,

A question about gaps for senior traders, as far as I am aware , it is common for gaps that are occur in markets to most likely fill but they do not have to

are there are examples for gaps that never been filled in other markets like stocks or gold/silver?

if there is a specific asset that had a gap and never fill would apprecaite it sharing that example over this thread

Thanks a lot

I do not know about how futures quarterly trading is charged, but I know that it is different from perpetual futures. With quarterly, you can open a position for up to 100 days, but depending on the exchange. But with it, there is nothing like funding rate.

I see the funding rate not to be a problem because it is 0.01 or less in percentage every 8 hours. It may even be in your favor in a way that you will earn it instead.

Thanks for your reply, I checked the quarterly contracts and indeed no funding and can hold my leverage  trade for weeks/days
as @adaseb suggested too

Thanks for your input

Every Perp exchange has Futures instead of Perps, usually there is 4 futures per year, every season. These don't have any funding fees.

However, they have a premium or discount. So if you buy a March 2024 future today, you will pay a 3-4% premium if you hold till expiry. So its similar to funding rate. However if you plan on keeping the trade short then the premium will still hold, unless there is a massive shift in market trend.

Since you want leverage, there is no other way. Because unless you are buying spot, you will pay either interest on margin, or funding fees for perps, or pay a premium to buy the futures. No other way around these fees.

That is perfect, thank you veruy much its exactly what I was looking for!
I could trade leverage now with futures, hold my trade for days/weeks without worring about any funding fees.
