961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] The ARCH Network - NEWS on: April 21, 2015, 01:07:48 PM
A possible answer :

Bitcoin and Altcoins generally don't have any fundamental value, or at least it is impossible to tell, whatever the technology behind. Warren Buffet even compared bitcoin's value to a check or a stamp.

On the otherside, archcoin is e a-stake and CEO knows how much the firm is worth. Even if it can be partly subjective, it is much more concrete than the last PnD value.
Hint : BTCarchitect just posted that the current value is one tenth of actual one.

Thank you much Spartan, I'll start from there. It all still sounds somewhat mysterious to me though...

I realize I posted a strong statment and didn't mean to upset, just get a better idea of Arch, as it surged in value over a few days.

All the best to Arch  Smiley

Thank you for the best wish, there are nearly 200 people in Arch HQ, each with their own individual mind and goal, some of them even a well known seasoned veteran in cryptosphere, one of the thing that keep all that people together is that there are really not much mystery in Arch community, so far BTCArchitect had always been open about any question and his action, we know how much arch he own and the price he bought his archs even some private life information, the company structure he built involving the shareholder idea in many discussion session and helping with decision making prove to be effective, although everything is still in stage of evolution and learning process, the battle is not over there will be bumps and obstacle ahead of arch and will still required a lot of hard work to achieve the higher value, but the progress is all there for all to see and check.

Hi, I noticed that there is an example code on GitHub for setting up your own web front end for Syscoin's decentralized marketplace - that's pretty cool

I am looking for somebody who is capable of providing a beginner friendly and simple as possible tutorial with a step by step guide showing people how to set this up. I would like to publish it on my blog http://cryptorials.io. Please contact me if you think you can do this.

I believe the team already in the process of making that guide/tutorial.

To those with limited internet access, i copied the content of the current update here, i tried to preserve the original blog formatting as much as possible.

The fully functional and operational Decentralize Marketplace could be huge driving factor in changing the future landscape of internet shopping and other aspect related to decentralized economy, I'm proud to be part of this history with my small contribution to the development.

Syscoin 1.5.2 Beta 4, Blockmarket and a Leap Forward
We’ve been very busy over the past two weeks! After the release of beta3 some issues were discovered and we quickly put testing on pause while we addressed these issues. At the time we stated we wanted to take the time needed to fix the issues properly- and we’ve done that. As we worked through the issues we came across several major platform changes and core service optimizations that resulted in some major positive changes for Syscoin that also impact the roadmap.

Syscoin QT Beta 4

Beta 4 of Syscoin 1.5.2 introduces major platform level changes that impact each and every service currently offered by Syscoin as well as improvements to these services and to the decentralized marketplace purchase experience. Here are just a few of these changes:

Many of the changes are very technical as they occur at the core/daemon level, but here’s a quick synopsis:

Optimized Command Design – In the current release of Syscoin all service commands (creating items, buying items, creating aliases) use a two-step design that first requires the user to enter one command to obtain a GUID (global unique identifier) and then a second command to activate that service. In some cases users would even be required to wait for the first command to be confirmed by the network (which can take 1-3minutes) before running the second command. We’re proud to announce in Syscoin 1.5.2 beta 4 ALL two-step service commands have been redesigned to be a single-command operation.

Reduced Blockchain Size – In addition to usability improvements the optimized command design also reduces overall blockchain size. Remember that because all Syscoin services operate directly on-chain (NOT p2p) that the previous two-step command design meant twice as many entries on the blockchain. The new design leads to a greatly reduced number of entries on the blockchain, reducing overall chain size by 30% or more while still delivering the same suite of services with a better user-experience than ever before.

Aliases – Already active on main net but receiving even more improvements in 1.5.2 Syscoin aliases are 100% interchangeable with any Syscoin address. Instead of asking people to send funds to a long, nondescript string of characters you can have them send it directly to an address which you own. Addresses are case-insensitive and do have a fixed expiration (approx 1month). Purchasing an alias does incur a fee. As we’ve begun using aliases more and more in 1.5.2 beta4 because it makes sending and receiving coins as well as operating all of the services much easier. Please be aware that aliases must be updated in order to keep them active or other users on the network can purchase them, much like domain names.

Download Syscoin v1.5.2 Beta 4 Now!

Important Note: Before running Syscoin QT 1.5.2b4 please:

Delete the contents of your syscoin cakenet data folder EXCEPT for your wallet.dat (within the cakenet folder). This means also deleting peers.dat and all the folders related to the cakenet blockchain (leaving only wallet.dat in the cakenet folder).
Use the these nodes http://pastebin.com/STsMzvSj to properly sync with the beta4 cakenet. If you leave your old beta3 blockchain data around, you may experience errors.

*Syscoin 1.5.2b3 is now deprecated and should no longer be used.

Design Improvements Sooner than Later

The Syscoin network is one of the most stable altcoin networks available with a network hashrate that rivals Litecoin, sometimes operating at greater than 1 TH/S in hashing power. Because of this huge amount of hashing power, performing hard forks on the network to introduce major design improvements is a delicate and coordinated operation. The scope of change in 1.5.2 has now become so large that it will require a hard-fork, and we’ve already started talking with our massive mining network and are happy to say we’ve located 90% of the mining power and are in contact with the operators.

We’d already had a hard fork planned for the 1.5.3 release which introduces “dynamic expiry”- a solution to the fixed-expiry design many of Syscoin’s services currently leverage. This change will allow you to purchase or update any Syscoin service and specify how long you want it to remain active for (ie: creating an item that’s active for 1 year, buying an alias for a week and then updating it for an additional year of ownership with one command). In the 1.5.3 update we also will be changing how service fees are implemented so that if needed they can easily scale as the value of Syscoin fluctuates. These changes will not only allow Syscoin to remain competitive with other centralized offerings, but it also enables us to deliver the best possible service experience moving forward with as few additional hard-forks as possible.

Rather than attempting two hard-forks, one for 1.5.2 and one for 1.5.3, we’ve decided to wrap everything into a single 1.5.3 hard fork which will still be targeted for an initial beta in the beginning of May 2015. We will continue to release beta updates until then that hone and refine the experience and eventually switch the beta versioning to 1.5.3 once dynamic expiry is introduced. We will also be building support for the 1.5.3 features into Blockmarket. We’ve decided to do all of this prior to the 1.6 (aka: “v2 wallet”) release because that wallet will greatly increase usability and also the userbase, making it harder to perform a clean hard fork. With this in mind we’ll release 1.5.3 / hard fork first, and then release the new 1.6 wallet shortly after that.

Blockmarket Code Release

Because plans have changed somewhat delaying the next “official” mainnet release, we want to make sure that people still have plenty of time to prepare so that when the release is made official, they’ll know what to do. Because of this we’ll be releasing the source code to Blockmarket in the coming days, we just need to get it packaged up and ready for public consumption before that happens. In the meantime you can grab the Syscoin QT 1.5.2 Beta 4 binaries right now! These new binaries are “locked to cakenet” so you will need to use one wallet purely for testing and continue to use the current production wallet (1.5.1) for your “real” Syscoin. Cakenet Syscoin is referred to as tSYS and we are selling real items for this test coin as a way of promoting our decentralized marketplace and as a way letting users get hands-on time with the purchase experience before it is released to the main net.

Partnerships & The Competition

We’ve solidified a partnership with one large and in our opinion innovative group within the crypto space which we’ll be announcing within the coming weeks. I’m happy to say we’re constantly looking for additional partnerships and ways to make “Getting into Syscoin” that much easier / frictionless. In that regard we’re talking with additional partners about adopting Syscoin within their systems, these partners being outside the crypto space as ultimately that’s always been the vision for Syscoin. Syscoin is now available on Bitswop.nl http://www.bitswop.nl//en/ which allows users to pay their Bitcoin invoices with other currencies.

Syscoin is well on its way to achieving everything we’d set out to do from the beginning. Building a platform for decentralized services on top of Bitcoin’s core blockchain technology, developing a rock-solid network for business infrastructures through universal merge-mining which has been a huge success as evidenced by Syscoin’s massive network hash rate. We’re a team that doesn’t stop and we’re never satisfied. We realized that some users were having issues connecting to our DNS Seeder on the mainnet and in response to that we set up not one but four additional DNS Seeds which will be included in the next update to the Syscoin 1.5.1 wallet. These seeds are located around the globe for the fastest syncing possible.

As this space has matured we’ve also been watching out for the competition. There have been many teams recently launching initiatives targeting the “decentralized marketplace” feature set and a number of other features that are foundational elements of Syscoin and have been since launch. We take the time to investigate the code published by each and every one of these possible competitors. What we’re seeing is a trend of marketplaces being implemented outside of the blockchain without clearly stating that obscuring the true value these coins bring to the table. While there are certainly some aspects of pure p2p (peer to peer) implementations that are advantageous, we feel leveraging the power of the blockchain and storing these items and their history directly on the chain is much more beneficial, secure, and effective. We have an entire post we’ll be dedicating to the difference/pros and cons of p2p decentralized marketplace implementations vs our implementation of decentralized marketplaces which is directly on the blockchain.

Our team is constantly listening to the community and watching the competition. We feel the improvements released in 1.5.2 beta4 and the open-source release of the Blockmarket code as well as the release plan for the 1.5.3 hard-fork in conjunction with our ongoing partnership efforts will continue to improve the value and adoption of Syscoin and its services.

Any updates from the CEO channel ?

Well, like BTCArchitect tweet, April 25th is going to be one of the big info release day, beside that many thing are being discuss openly or internally in the channel, there's some good idea being shared, for example an idea to add another layer of security in the Arch wallet, after all Arch is one the first of it's kind in Crypto Equity field so security is high priority.
965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] The ARCH Network - NEWS on: April 15, 2015, 03:53:49 AM
If that doesn't work,

go to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/arch/#!network

click node list with protocol 70001

It has the latest online nodes.

This route worked for me!! Appreciate the immediate responses andreibi and sigwo!! Wink

EDIT:  90 minutes to download the blockchain, not bad at all.  I read the 25 page thread and some articles while waiting and now I'm even more impressed with ARCHcoin!!  For now, I'll see everyone in HQ..... hope to join the CEO ranks as well, if the market cooperates Undecided
Welcome then..we always glad having more enthusiasm individual. Smiley

Hi bro..how about making full article about Arch? perhaps interview with BTCA about the concept of Arch Crypto equity and other angle..Thanks man. Smiley
968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] The ARCH Network - NEWS on: April 13, 2015, 12:43:29 PM
BTCArchitect, can you tell us about your plans for Moby and Kickstarter? How's that gonna work? Don't they need a prototype? Are you building one? Full size I mean.

Our next large update later on today will focus on that question and everything related. Nothing has changed from the original plan, we just took a giant leap forward.

BTCA, there are rumours I'm hearing of venture capitalists showing major interest in Moby and other Arch projects like blocktrust. Can you confirm or deny that you'll be receiving additional funding on top of the funding you've already announced? Whats the total?
I think for now that information is for CEO only, maybe BTCA can share a little info on this for general public. however, i personally think many venture capital or other investors with medium term funding goal should be interested in the whole idea of ARCH network.

The logical reason behind this, everything so far have been done in the most professional way possible;
- Company registered in EU country thus eligible for common law protection and others benefit of any Euro based business entity.
- 150k EUR company self fund as initial working capital.
- Product Prototype in building process by shipyard with clear and potential future market segmentation.
- Project manager and many staff come from clean reputable company and background.
- Direct and honest communication have been established among investors so far.
969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ARCHcoin [ARCH] The ARCH Network - NEWS on: April 11, 2015, 03:48:03 PM
Whats up with this coin ? Any roadmaps ?
As far as i know, Arch is not a coin, from what i can understand, Arch is a holding company with several core business and Moby as flagship product, the crypto part of this business use to combine the great feature of Blockchain with real world business and take advantage from it, so basically Arch is company built with and to take advantage of the bitcoin 2.0 tech, the company infrastructure in future will incorporate feature like smart contract, sidechain, and others in to daily operation.

Hi,

If i have archcoin, I will be benefit of dyvidend? If I have archcoin. Am I stockshare?
Later, 1 year after launch we will have option to turn our 32k arch into company share, meanwhile enjoy the ride and make profit.
971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: April 07, 2015, 02:27:53 AM
is this the same as silkmarket 1 or 2 which is centralized?

The market is full in Blockchain, total decentralization market place, Web is use as interface to interact easily.

Now imagine when it's complete and if some big investor use this to develop competitor for Amazon and Ebay.

Besides the fact Syscoin Market is decentralized, what other advantages does it have vs Amazon and Ebay?

Amazon and Ebay have their own offers... no sharing.. imagine NewBay which can take both of the offers off of ebay/amazon for free and list them on their website, charging a small fee through a payment gateway.

Today you have that via centralized API's that maybe amazon/ebay would let people use (probably for a fee)... or scrape websites which is stupid. Now if those API's were not 100% secure then your website would suffer.

You can create your own offers and share them to the world.. so anyone can see your offers on "their" marketplace websites if they think you would bring value to their site.

To add to Jag's info, using Syscoin's marketplace is a no-brainer for any merchant.
The last time I sold stuff on e-bay, it cost me about 12-13% just to sell (3% to paypal, 10% to ebay-if you want the add to stick out). That's huge, if you normally made 20% profit on a cash transaction sale, that means that you would only make 7% with ebay. Since the marketplace is on the blockchain, Syscoin fees are negligible and are only to run the network (like bitcoin but much less expensive).

Also, there's so many things that you cannot do with Paypal for example:

-Items that are considered obscene
-Sexually oriented materials or services
-Weapons (even though their sale may be fully legal where they are being sold)
-Purchases of real property, annuities or lottery contracts, lay-away systems, off-shore banking or transactions to finance or refinance debts
-Money Service Business activities: the sale of traveler’s checks or money orders, currency exchanges or check cashing
-involve gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not it is legally defined as a lottery) and sweepstakes unless the operator has obtained prior approval from PayPal and the operator and customers are located exclusively in jurisdictions where such activities are permitted by law.
-Etc, etc, etc...

See Paypal's acceptable use policy, most credit card providers have similar policies:

https://www.paypal.com/ca/webapps/mpp/ua/acceptableuse-full

and another possible addition, if user prefer to build their own interface, the syscoin marketplace can be use to manage inventory system for sales company/retail, for example a retail chain store can connect their Point of sales on each store to the blockmarket for all or some of their specific inventory, and because it decentralized all the inventory can be access from anywhere or from any store without costly central server and it maintenance, it will always be auto update on real time mode, easy to backup, easy and faster to restore if there's problem in any store. All build with proven security feature of Blockchain technology.

This flexibility advantage from syscoin feature is something that still unavailable from any competitors "decentralized" marketplace out there, as a possible future user of decentralized market,  i'm not ruling out any advantage offer from any coin as there's some with interesting promise feature but will closely watch, try out and compare each before deciding which one is the best.

Then it's only a matter of calculation on how much cost saving for any company if they migrate from traditional PoS and inventory system to adopt sys blockmarket technology.
972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ERMIS (ERM) WALLET RELEASED |The Merchant Coin| Proof of Investment | on: March 29, 2015, 10:46:28 AM
I'm one of the bigger IPO investors, reading every day-all day the things that are written ( or not ) here, but unfortunately lately everything is mistified ... Loosing patienceand faith, and starting to feel neglected and misguided ... not blaming enyone, these "businesses" are rearelly lucrative for novices like me and 99% of other users of this crypto world.
Again I'm not a hater ( chek the list of investors ), but I feel that not everything is being done that was promissed on the beginning of this "journey".
Weeks go by with no updates or comments from the team. I also understand the argument that this is not a short term "investment" but still ... this is how I feel and see things for the past 2-3 months, and I reserve my right to speak of it now.
I would be the happiest man if the ERM team would prove me wrong.

Kind regards to everyone.

I hate to say this but I am the same guys. You are all decent people but more communication needed.

sorry to make you feel that way .. but we cant do anything atm but to wait...  we do have lots of pending stuff until dearbesz is done with his task.  i myself is getting impatient too. i always follow up on him about the registration.

hahaha nice, i think the same like you bro! And the angels comes on ccex when it becomes to delisting and the angel have many btc while every time when its get to delisted we have a ,5 btc volume or else on 100-200 sat!.. so i hold my erms and buy more! Wink  but the wallet dont work i dont know.. i have many wallets they are work but erms i dont know.. many nice stakes were gone...

wallet is fine, and other wallet are staking fine.. and 100-200 sat  is far from what value we are aiming for ERMIS.

so how many coins you got to stake and how many you stake on one day? ich have 200k and staked after 9!!!! days 300 erm
From my calculation in current state, stake erm come every 10-14 days with total of approximately 0,5% per month of your total ERM.
973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: March 29, 2015, 09:43:04 AM
Will Syscoin be the only currency that we can use on Blockmarkets ?

Nope! the cool part about it is we will create a sync tool to be able to sync with other shopping cart softwares which may or may not even accept cryptocurrency... the backend needs SYS yes but the offers themselves may not need sys..they can use any payment gateways, and we will create syscoin payment gateways for these softwares incase people DO want to accept syscoin on these carts. Blockmarket offer's ITSELF needs sys but its just first iteration... stay tuned.

What do you mean by "the backend needs SYS yes"?  The seller makes an offer in any currency he wants but the buyer must buy only with Syscoin?
to update an offer you need sys.. if you want to track payments analogous to offer accepts/pays then you need to pay for that offer in sys.. but thats about it.. you can have a completely seperate front-end which "syncs" up with offers on the blockmarket to offer them to the world, but accept any form of payment you would like.

Can you explain a bit more of this? If a buyer wants to get paid in another crypto currency, then Syscoin would not be needed. Just the block market right? Then why would we need Syscoins? Btw why is there such a huge amount of Sys? 2 billion is such an immense quantity. I think that's the main reason why the price is so low. Have you guys thought of bringing it down? Or is that not part of the plan?
I think the back end process of every transaction need syscoin, such as making an item listing, offer, etc, Syscoin would act as the token or tool to carried out the transaction process, even when from the customer side the whole process is done with USD or BTC.

For example, i own a website with integrated marketplace/cart using blockmarket tech then If buyer pay with BTC, the operator of the site (me) would have to connect to 3rd party payment gateway or operate the gateway myself to convert the payment in to syscoin or other currency i choose, of course i as an market place operator would own certain enough amount of syscoin to facilitate all user transaction in my marketplace. The entire transaction then would be recorded in blockchain and i would have my admin/finance tool to extract the blockchain data for internal administration, tax, or other financial report.

I think that's why syscoin need the amount of that, to accommodate the number of future transaction from many marketplace, let say that if each transaction require at least 1 sys then 2 billion sys would at least can process 100-500k transaction/sec maybe more, and it would be far more easy for my employee to input record of transaction cost/fee if it's in 15 or 150 sys not in 0,000015 sys.

This is not the problem, I have already done that before this problem appeared. As I said a million times now, my wallet was synced and was staking without any problems. All this happened after that.

Well, delete everything except your wallet.dat, and let it restart the whole thing, some have this problem before and it always work.

unlock your wallet for staking

I have wallet unlocked, but it still doesn't syncing. Perhapse, @BTCArchitect would know more?
it took me a while to start to sync did you wait enough?

As I said, my problem is not that my wallet never was staking. I have arch since jaunary and my wallet was successfully syncing and staking in the begining. But then all suddenly it stoped. Get it? Please, read from begining or else your simple answer is no use for me. Thank you anyway.
I'm not sure i understand the problem correctly, your wallet not syncing or not staking? or both?
Well, if you are sure you have correct nodes then as usual in many other PoS coin wallet, backup your wallet first, use the rescan parameter when starting the wallet to check each transaction and then use repair wallet command from console if your wallet need a fix.

My wallet is not staking and is syncing forever (about 1 month now and hasn't done nothing), but it was synced before that.
I am using linux wallet, can you guide me throu, how can I do rescan and repair?
I think your wallet problem is with the nodes, your wallet is not staking because out of sync, try the suggestion how to add nodes in ARCH support documentation

" Update news ,that Ermis now is being approved as "Ermis Marketing Int'l Corp." under Security Exchange Commission
And will wait 2months for releasing of cerfication from SEC. for us to operate as legal company globaly..thanks godbless you
All.. Wink

Good news guys, in what country you register that? Thank you for all the hard work

Hi guys I have a new laptop, how do I set my wallet up on there.

Ideally I'd like the same address but I would download a new one if need be. By the way, why can't I access the ermiscoin website?

Thanks
i think you just copy the wallet.dat file from the old to the new one and you will have the same wallet.
