1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Report - PremiumCryptoMiners.com / Premium Commerce Solutions LLC on: December 08, 2021, 11:01:19 PM
Thanks, yeah I'll see what I can disclose given it's under police investigation. My brother knows guys working in Elliptic so i'm going to see if they can help me find out where the transactions hopped to.

Also just a note and I'll update the OP, I've uncovered a UK site run by the same guys

2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Scam Report - PremiumCryptoMiners.com / Premium Commerce Solutions LLC on: December 04, 2021, 09:04:56 AM
Hi guys,

I'm posting this here not for sympathy, but to make sure that someone else doesn't become victim to the same scam when the research this "company".

I found someone on LinkedIn going by the name of Van Coleman (who has been kicked off since) who was saying that he worked for a company called PremiumCryptoMiners.com in Georgia . I went onto the web chat and asked them if he did, they said yes. After a phone call, and some research looking for scam reports, looking for anything negative about them, checking the Georgia business directory (https://ecorp.sos.ga.gov/BusinessSearch/BusinessInformation?businessId=1641205&businessType=Domestic%20Limited%20Liability%20Company&fromSearch=Trueusing company number 11053729 ) I went ahead and placed an order for an Antminer S19 Pro.

The price was reasonable for a machine at the time, nothing out of the ordinary (at $12,500), it was using coinbase commerce for its checkout.

I then got the normal woocommerce emails, saying order received, and then a couple of days later got an order complete notice. I was then sent a tracking number from (what transpires to be a fake) shipping company WagoShipping.com showing it had been picked up.

The a couple of days later is when I 100% knew I had been scammed. I got asked to pay another 10% for a "97% REFUNDABLE INSURANCE LICENSE". Which from research is a known scam, often used with people buying weed or whatever online that doesn't exist.

The email had all the hallmarks, badly written, typos, high pressure. Pay within 6 hours or the product (and there's nothing illegal about a crypto miner in Ireland where it was being shipped to) will be turned over to customs. I contacted them, said turn it over to customs so, and nothing since.

This is the first time in 7 years I've been scammed in crypto. On first review, things passed my checks. I checked the person saying they worked with the company, the company said they did. I checked for scam reports, there were none. I checked the company registration details, they came up legit.

But it isn't, hence this post. What's happened since is it's been reported to the police, but as it's outside of the EU so they can't do anything about it. When I went into the detail, checking domain names, it was only registered a few months ago, and most of the activity in terms of blog posts they're doing in are all in the last few months. Also, they changed the address of the business on the website straight away after scamming me, keeping it within Georgia but moving it to another location.

So as I said, I'm not looking for sympathy in this post. I've been scammed out of $12,500 which is painful, but I want to make sure that anyone who is looking at buying from this fake website has a chance to see a scam alert about them, and avoid giving them even more.

Edit: There's a UK site run by the same organization. https://productadvanceelectroltd.com/ Product Advance Electro Ltd.

5  Economy / Services / [wanted] dev to build a wordpress plugin counting blocks since x on: August 11, 2021, 12:42:30 AM
hi all,

i'm looking for someone who can build a wordpress plugin with the following functionality.

A settings screen, where I guess I'd need to put in a block explorer & api key
a target block number (ie 321321) from which I want to have the option to count the following via shortcodes

needs to have
- blocks since x
- years, months, days, hours, minutes since

nice to have
- bitcoins mined since x
- transactions since x

potentially a few other things, based on data available in the block explorer, using different varients of the shortcode.

on the front end of wordpress, i'd like to be able to use these shortcodes

we're in business for [blockssince] blocks, which would render the number between the current block, and the one specified in settings, with commas ie 123,456 and into the future 1,234,567 etc.

we're around for [timesince] in crypto, which would show something like we're around for 7 years, 1 month, 3 days, 4 hours, 25 minutes.

Basically the use case is on a website i have, i'd like to be able to have this adjust each time someone visits the site

will pay with btc, using escrow or something like bitrated.

something you can do? please let me know with a price.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥🔥 PlusCoin by DS PLUS - THE FIRST PEOPLE'S CRYPTO MONEY 🔥🔥🔥 on: May 02, 2019, 10:28:14 PM
I'm assuming this project is dead, but I have a couple of PLC tokens from early 2018.

On the site it says in the FAQs

I have PLC, how can I exchange it for PLCN?
Send PLC to the following address for the PLC-PLCN exchange: 0xEf2956FF9E796C956fb32DEF0F2dA069EeC4f7B6

An exchange will be proceed once your application is checked by a moderator. In the case of you have purchased the tokens after May 10 2018 it will not be possible to exchange them to PLCN.

Considering their telegram is dead, nothing on social media for a while, am I correct thinking I'd just be burning my PLC if I send them to the address, as there's noone on the other end to convert them back into PLCN (ie it's not automated) ?

I've been doing some advertising from the other side on it, and there's been no response from support for a couple of weeks now. I'd sent in tickets, emails, bitcointalk messages, and now the site is saying

This site can’t be reached

coinurl.com refused to connect.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Has this shut down now?

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Mingo is taking cryptocurrency to 2B+ mobile users through messaging and gaming. on: October 16, 2017, 08:13:33 PM
Hi guys,

I've just read http://www.independent.ie/business/irish/beware-bitcoin-funding-mania-investors-told-36227400.html

Specifically

"The warning comes after Enterprise Ireland ordered two fintech firms to remove website information and amend details in an investment prospectus that may have led investors to believe Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) valued at €2.5m were endorsed by the State agency.

Cryptocurrency firm MingoCoin - which is chaired by former Baltimore Technologies chief Fran Rooney and cites One Direction star Niall Horan as a shareholder and brand ambassador - aimed to raise €2m in a token presale which ended on October 9.

The pre-sale raised over €650,000 in the first hour alone. The firm, which has received startup funding from Enterprise Ireland (EI), was contacted last week by EI officials and ordered to amend or remove promotional material linked to the ICO that could be misconstrued as an endorsement by the Stage agency.

Mingocoin founder and ceo Joe Arthur confirmed the firm has held talks with Enterprise Ireland about its use of the State agency's name in promotional material.
"They have asked us to clarify the position in relation to the ICO," Arthur said.

"We have discussed that with them and obviously we have clarified that in our prospectus."

-

What happened here? You still have the Enterprise Ireland logo on the site.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitmain Cash was stillborn. (ITS DEAD!) on: August 01, 2017, 04:34:51 PM
yeah i'm confused too.

can someone explain what happens over the next day or two? Not too interested in any of the politics, but I know I get some free anyway.

So I can see on https://www.btcforkmonitor.info/

Node: Bitcoin Core & Node: UASF (BIP 148) & Node: btc1 (segwit2x) and Node: Segsignal (BIP 91 only) are all on block 478590 mining as normal, although the network is eerily quiet on https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions, there was only 700 transactions queued earlier.

So on the other hand, Node: Bitcoin ABC (Bitcoin Cash; Bcash) is stuck on Current height: 478558 from a couple of minutes after the block was mined. And there's been no blocks since.

It's going to take them 2000 blocks to get their mining difficulty adjusted? And while that's waiting, any transactions are stuck?
