222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found Satoshi Nakamoto on: February 03, 2016, 02:31:06 AM
https://eprint.iacr.org/2007/216.pdf

doesnt sound like bitcoin to me.

its not. even the writing style let alone the content being different. what the OP doesnt understand is that making currency is a game thats been played even as far back as the cavemen trading fruits for sexual favours with the cave women.

there are literally millions of people working on currency creation and thousands working on similar concepts.
whats next because satoshi said he was working on it since 2007.. and then the new theory of the 2007 paper the OP links to means they were working on it before 2007 (hint: which debunks the satoshi 18month idea by the way)

will the OP consider satoshi miscalculted his 18months.. to then work further back and maybe come across W, dai 1998.. or will the OP go back to 2008 and then try a different angle.

i can name atleast 50 people that had similar concepts between 2005-2008. and maybe a dozen before that.

happy hunting

Double spends, coin, RSA, hash functions, private keys... at first glance it sounds similar. HOWEVER
Get down to the references and not a single one matches satoshi's white paper, no similar authors either. It seems like at least one or two would cross-reference, unless he threw everything away, and started all over from scratch.
Interesting find though.
223  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Crazy idea, use webspeech API on faucets for protection against bots? on: February 02, 2016, 04:16:19 AM
What if it were reversed, and speech gave instructions like "click in the third box in the second column" and there was a grid of boxes for the user to click?

That's sort of similar to the audio version of Recaptcha, where it asks you to type the numbers you hear people speaking.  And just like recaptcha in order for it to work you would need a large range of audio so people can't match a hash to an audio clip and correspond it to a specific action.  I recall even Recaptcha had issues with people using speech recogintion software to decipher the numbers as it was easier to solve than trying to ocr the visual images.  This is all assuming someone doesn't just bypass the whole audio process and figure out what the correct box choice is programatically.

Not sure what you mean there... no audio clips would be needed, the webspeech API allows you to insert any text you decide server-side to be spoken outloud on the client side, it's synthesized speech. It would be no different than storing text in a db.
If the user selects the wrong box than a new puzzle starts, so they couldn't just start clicking random boxes or expect it to be the same box each time.

What's to stop someone from just scraping the web of audio files and putting them into a db to execute when said color, object, whatever is asked for?  I'm sure you could find many audio clips of someone saying the color green and just use a random one each time.

Also I would be curious to know what percentage of the people with internet access have a microphone.

It could change to different topics, like "a cow goes..." there are lots of different variations to protect against that. It would also take a lot of resources to compile a bot attack against that.

The access to a mic is a big concern that I didn't take into account....

What if it were reversed, and speech gave instructions like "click in the third box in the second column" and there was a grid of boxes for the user to click?
225  Economy / Micro Earnings / Crazy idea, use webspeech API on faucets for protection against bots? on: February 02, 2016, 02:42:23 AM
What if a faucet used webspeech API to protect against bots?

The faucet could have a box, a shape, font color whatever and it be a certain color, say green.
Then the user must click a button then speak the color of a specific object in this example 'green', in order to move to the next page.
A sortof speech captcha.

I think this would be relatively easy to set up, what do you think? I think it could really throw the bots for a loop, at least for a little while.

227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: COIN WARS: And the battle begins... on: February 01, 2016, 04:31:28 AM
A hard fork will not prevail until small sized transactions (1 or 2 inputs and 1 or 2 ouputs) take many hours or days to confirm. Currently the only "My transaction won't confirm" posts are from those that don't understand the relationship to the KB size to the fee of the transaction. These transactions usually have dozens of inputs and/or outputs, creating a very large transaction with a tiny fee(less than 1000 satoshis per KB) so it takes forever to get confirmed.  Once the small transactions get 'stuck' then it will be possible for a blocksize based hard-fork to succeed.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: rcpuser and rcppassword on: January 31, 2016, 04:30:36 AM
This sounds to me like a classic "asking the wrong question" case. @OP before you download 60+GB of blockchain data, you should make sure whether or not you actually need a full node for your faucet.

Agreed, most faucets don't use bitcoind. Faucets are about running as cheap as possible in order to generate revenue from the traffic. If you have to pay for a VPS that can support a 60GB blockchain plus the bandwidth, it will be practically impossible to make any money from running the faucet. Use cheap shared hosting and 3rd party APIs.
229  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Need shopping cart module that uses pre-generated address list on: January 31, 2016, 03:46:24 AM
XPUB from HD-Wallet, even better ...  query a blockchain APIs ... query against blockchain.info

Blockchain.info has a receive payments API that uses bip32 xpub keys, so you can use your xpub key from multibitHD and utilize it with blockchain.info's API. That way your PK is not with blockchain, you are just using them to generate the index keys and handle the callbacks when payments are received.

Funcaptcha is ending free accounts in a few days. I have also used Are You A Human, and they also sent an email advising they are ending their playthru captcha soon.  So, I have made a commit to the github repo to change it over google's reCaptcha.

https://github.com/coinables/Bitcoin-Faucet-Dice-Faucet-Box/commit/eae76aceabcf8a1c40fb6868795fc46ec0516ec8

If you are already running a previous version, you only need to update the index.php page in the /faucetbox directory, you don't have to redownload the entire package. Everything else stays the same. Once you get the new index.php page just create an account with google recaptcha and enter your keys on lines 15 & 16 and you'll be up and running.
I also made a few minor bug fixes as well.
231  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scam address : 19ZM2pjq6U4jVb283GZkCPNukjeyb2YZ2u on: January 19, 2016, 06:01:07 AM
Bitcoin addresses have a certain length. If the clipboard happens to contain a string of that length, it gets replaced.
The virus could also check what software/website anything is supposed to be pasted into, and if it's BTC related, the address gets replaced.

Tons of possibilities which Windoze systems offer in those regards.

.edit:
The attacker could also implement a check if whatever is in the clipboard is a valid BTC address. It's easy to code. Same technology which tells you if the address you're sending to is valid, in your wallet software.

Since some addresses are longer/shorter than others I'd suspect more so the latter. The script could verify the checksum to verify if it's a BTC address.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin Classic" is a classic attempt at a hostile takeover on: January 19, 2016, 03:07:13 AM
If Bitcoin Classic wins then Gavin is going to be the "benevolent dictator" (which I think has always been his desire).

Do you want him as the overlord?

I guess that is the question (personally I am happier with the Bitcoin Core team as it stands).

I don't like the idea of the hard fork to bitcoin "classic".
I like Gavin, and don't think he has anything sinister planned if classic somehow wins. I support core.
There are too many unsubstantiated conspiracies floating around right now. Most conversations instantly turn into personal attacks regarding this topic.

You don't have any ideas and you're not a developer. Good luck!
234  Economy / Gambling / Re: Introducing PevPot.com The Bitcoin Lottery on: January 15, 2016, 10:16:22 PM
Hey everyone, unfortunately I'm going to shut down pevpot, and make this draw the last one Sad

I'd like to thank everyone (especially Dooglus) for all their feedback, and to everyone who played. But the the site hasn't got the sort of traction I'd like to see in order to continue operating it. I was really hoping to see >100 bitcoin lottos, which would make the draw a lot more fun.  It's more than likely my fault for not actively marketing it, and getting it intuitive enough for casual users. But with bustabit's increase in popularity and volume (right now, >200 people online!) I really have my hands full.

Thanks for playing everyone! And good luck to the final winner of draw #11

Sad Sad I was playing every week. Oh well, glad to hear the success with bustabit's and I look forward to your future projects.

Personally I think you should make a note that the minimum withdrawal amount is 0.0015. I deposited 0.001 played a few games with a profit and was unable to cashout since my deposit was less than the minimum cashout.
236  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: So You Want To Use Bitcoin On Your Website? on: January 09, 2016, 01:33:21 AM
Thank you. This is a great help.

Just a question.
I am working on a project that needs a backend developer and help us with integrating bitcoin.
Would you be interested to work with us ?

Regards

Duke

No sorry, you would need a professional to build the back end of an exchange. I'm just a hobbyist.
237  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Open Sourced Faucet with Dice Script on: January 08, 2016, 01:52:00 AM
Sorry everyone, excuse my ignorance, I'm still new to developing software for open source use. Some of the commits I made, I did so without all the proper testing as I should have. I believe some of the AYAH files are unique to my AYAH account, causing the errors. SO I have reverted the github source back to when everything was working properly, which is under funcaptcha instead of are you a human. Sorry for the inconvenience, you'll need to re-download the files from github, and sign up with funcaptcha, you won't have to redo the database though.
238  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Open Sourced Faucet with Dice Script on: January 07, 2016, 05:19:22 PM
Dont work on me either on fresh install. Same "Your Captcha Was Invalid" and no popup captcha (I decided to try to redo style modifications on fresh install, because there is so much modifications on code).

Hmm perhaps the change to "are you human" was not wise... I think the files are unique to my are you human account the ayah and json php...
239  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Open Sourced Faucet with Dice Script on: January 07, 2016, 01:42:53 PM
i uploaded your script and edited the configs.
But when i enter a BTC adress and press login comes no Captcha !!

Code:
Your Captcha Was Invalid

example: http://box.yannik.biz/

Looks like you made some edits and added a div?? The captcha will auto popup when after clicking the play button using the original code I provided. Just make sure you follow all the steps in the readme on github.

sorry i changed nothing on the code i only edited the mysql connection and api keys

I just did a test from the github files and everything is working fine http://coinables.website/faucet1/faucetbox/

Try again:
1) download files from github as a zip.
2) create and configure a new database new database on your server
3) import the dbengine file through phpmyadmin to your new database
4) update your db login info on faucetbox/index.php, and enter your faucetbox API key
5) update your db login info on faucetboxgame/index.php, and enter your faucetbox API key
6) open ayahconfig.php and enter your AreYouAHuman credentials.
7) upload `faucetbox`, `faucetboxgame` & `verify` folders to your server.
