641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Szabo just tweeted this on: August 21, 2015, 05:19:57 AM
No signatures = fake

What a cop out response.
The email address it was sent from is the same email used when Satoshi first wrote about bitcoin.

So instead of speculation, we can look at these facts:

1) It is Satoshi's email address
2) Either Satoshi wrote this email or a someone that gained access to his account did
3) A signed PGP message would have proven it was Satoshi
4) An unsigned PGP message doesn't prove OR DISPROVE that it was Satoshi

XT is not the only solution to larger blocks. Core could support larger blocks as well once there is a consensus and an actual need to increase the block size. Blocks aren't filing up yet, except during the 'stress tests'. A fork will be required either way to support larger blocks but the way this fork is being done with XT, I cannot get behind.
642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts regarding "satoshis" post today on the mailing list? on: August 21, 2015, 02:56:53 AM
Actually, let's keep it on topic. If it was SN BTC is in a very bad position which sucks.

Agreed. But if Gavin and Mike are going rogue then I'm glad Satoshi said something about his disapproval.

Quote
I've been putting away BTC for my God son because I believe in it. If the project is considered failed, what's to not have him dump coins from the genesis block and cause hysteria.

What if he destroyed those keys? It's possible he got rid of them.

If it wasn't SN, you have some one that's artificially introducing a divide into the community for probably their own gain. Dishonesty, which is contradictory to what SN was try to circumvent by removing centralized authority of our money.

If it wasn't him then someone has access to a very powerful email address, and they haven't used it for anything else nefarious except that one email. It seems strange to me that a thief would show such restraint.

Again apologies for the initial posting.

643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminals (Thats what "non" Criminals called them ) are the base on: August 21, 2015, 02:47:40 AM
Cryptocurrencies, fiat or other monetary instruments are just tools. Ideally they should work equally well for both criminals and non-criminals. Once you start building in features that would make it harder for the criminal-of-the-day to use the tool then becomes a piece of shit.

Exactly.
Take a screwdriver for example, just a normal tool in the hand of a non-criminal. Give it to a criminal and they use it to bust open the ignition when stealing a car. All depends on how it is used.
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts regarding "satoshis" post today on the mailing list? on: August 21, 2015, 02:25:45 AM
I did sir, the fact that you have to debate 6 pages of whether a person who may or may not exist is fucking laughable.

So you agree the only reason you posted on this thread was to spam a coin that only exists because the person "who may or may not" exist laid the blueprint and did all the work for Charlie Lee?
Let's stay on topic here, shall we? And keep altcoin discussion in the altcoin section.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts regarding "satoshis" post today on the mailing list? on: August 21, 2015, 02:19:32 AM
I think if there is a satoshi nakamoto, he'd be pretty disappointed in the majority of the people in this community. Do you want to put a face to the technology that will change the world it has a couple. Charlie and Warren. SN handed a a beautiful technology to a bunch of get rich quick, self-centered gorias gorillas. Please evolve and learn more at LITECOIN.com

Did you really not read a single post in this thread just so you could spam an altcoin that everyone is already aware of?  This thread is about the alleged email from Satoshi scolding the XT fork not who he is or if he exists.

Excellent twist on a faucet. Your graphics are really nice and creative. I get a little lost trying to play the game  Huh
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hearn's Worst Case Scenario: Checkpoints in XT to "ignore the longest chain" on: August 21, 2015, 01:21:20 AM
but he is not the only person who will read and test the code. lets see what other devs say about that.

I think Hearn is the only person who decides what code is included in XT. I don't even think Gavin Andresen has commit access to XT.

As much as I am against the XT fork, the above is not true. There are several with commit access to XT including:

- Hearn (obviously)
- Gavin Andresen
- Jeff Garzik
- Jonas Schnelli
- Wladimir J Van Der Laan
- Jorge Timon
- Cory Fields
- Suhas Daftuar
- Pieter Wuille

I can go further back, but this should give you an idea. The above people have made a commit to bitcoinXT since May 12th 2015. Since July 2015 the only person making commits has been Hearn.

After this (planned) fud is over bitcoin will explode upwards faster then a rabbit can fuck kwuckduck's arse.

Hahaha, I very much enjoyed this line. It's funny because it's true. Kwuckduck is such a legendary bear troll, he's one of the very few accounts on my ignore list.
649  Economy / Speculation / Re: New bubble 3..2..1... on: August 20, 2015, 12:56:24 PM
The next bubble will come when we all least expect it. We've all been looking at graphs, drawing lines, looking for patterns. BTC doesn't give a hoot about that stuff. There will be another amazing rise, it's just a matter of when.
650  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: What min budget required for building a safe and secure bitcoin faucet? on: August 20, 2015, 12:25:09 PM
There are a lot of depending factors. If you are making it yourself, you don't have to pay for development.
There's hosting costs and then you get to the payouts vs ad revenue. Most faucets try to find a daily average income from ads vs average payouts to users and set their claim amounts based on that. So some days you profit, some days you lose. Most of it is initial investment and you can do it with less than 1 BTC. It's not like running a dice site where you need a large bank roll.

As my colleague said, if you run things well with a proper plan, it doesn't have to be all that expensive.

You will have to make your faucet stand out a bit though.

So, as per your suggestion, what factor makes the faucet better ? Is higher faucet rewards attract more users ?
Also do visitors click on ads usually.

I guess it's opinion but people usually take into consideration:
- Design
- Payout amount
- Payout frequency (how long to wait in between claims)
- Too many ads? Are they annoying? Is there malware?
- Do I have to sign up?
- Extras

Not necessarily in that order but those things are important, and if you want to drive traffic a referral program is a MUST.
The site I created recently I focused heavily on design and user experience. Very few non-obtrusive ads with 200 satoshi every 3 minutes. I made a dice game as well so the users could play dice while waiting between claim. The downside to my site is I require the users to create a username and PW due to the dice game which some users just don't want to do for a faucet. So far things have been going well, just mainly debugging. I find myself re-writing the dice code almost weekly when I notice a bug.

652  Other / Off-topic / Re: IS UFO or ALIENS are real ? on: August 20, 2015, 04:08:26 AM
In the next five years, we will be informed by our governments....

There are some guys saying that they prepare to fake an alien envasion to push more opressive laws on us. We shall see!

I highly doubt that....at least wait until we start exploring mars a bit more, maybe Phobos and Deimos as well....that, or DOOM actually becomes a reality!

Watch Alex Jones, he has been warning us for years that the elite are planning to fake an alien invasion, to push more opressive laws.

If they could do inside job in 9-11, and the whole world belived them, then an alien invasion should not be hard to fake.

Alex is ... well... a business man. He creates sensational stories, some true, and some not so much. He has a very wide viewership and sponsors pay A LOT to get their plugs in on his shows. He will say he has a leak that some event will happen (usually about a year in the future), and it keeps viewers coming back for more.

Is there an elite? Yes.
9-11 inside job? Probably, there's a lot of evidence and inconsistencies to point to that.
Fake an alien invasion to enact martial law and oppressive laws? I'd say no, that would create panic. People would stop going to work and the country would make no money. People would revolt if they are treated like a slave. If you want a happy slave, just make them think they are free.
653  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who here has bought sub 225 in the past couple days? on: August 20, 2015, 03:53:04 AM
I missed out on the cheap cheap coins yesterday, since I haven't been following the price as frequently as I used to.
It might get lower again, so I'm not in a hurry to buy a grip of coins right now. I think I'll just stick to my monthly buys and maybe I'll get lucky.

655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No less than 250 Bitcoin XT nodes are virtual servers, likely free trials on: August 20, 2015, 02:03:07 AM
I posted a few days ago that these XT nodes are likely "fake" and they will likely drop off in a short time. They are not veteran nodes switching over to XT but newcomers launching XT nodes because it's popular right now. XT supporters launched fake transaction volume to fill the blocks and they launch fake nodes. The real bitcoin will prevail.

660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is There A Way To Increase Blocksize And Keep Bitcoin Core?? on: August 19, 2015, 12:54:22 PM
Well this is exactly what we would all want that happens. But the problem is that the core Devs that are against the block size increase have their reasoning.

Now, maybe the game that Gavin is playing is that he wants to scare all of the community with the XT and then when we all see that XT is gaining traction and is not a joke anymore, maybe then the core Devs will let go and make some consensus. At least let's hope so!

This is my hope as well!

I hope that wasn't his "brilliant" plan. He's putting himself out as an outcast. He left core and is now an XT developer. If XT falls apart, he'll be lucky that anyone in the bitcoin space ever trusts him again. Gavin will make a suggestion and the response will be "I don't know Gavin, remember that time you got upset, started your own fork and almost ripped bitcoin in two?".  He'll be the Karpeles of BTC development.
