1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: October 31, 2014, 06:51:56 PM
well i submitted my documents for medation but have heard nothing back from the courts and nothing has changed in my money claim. Should I just file again and include proof that i did pay the 70%? That was alpha's defense- that i had already been refunded my 30% (which is true through paypal) but i never paid the remaining 70%.

Obviously I have bank reciepts and a reciept from their system stating I paid. My question is if I should just file another money claim against them and this time include reciepts since A) there has been no movement from the courts or in money claim and B) they dont have to opt to enter mediation

Just looking for some advice here from someone who has won their court case or is currently in mediation.

I think we're at the final stages, now.

The final stages until Alpha collapses. If it's led to be believed they have the parts and assembly is taking place, I think this is where it all goes wrong for Alpha.

I have just in http://fightalpha.net/index.php?topic=22.msg134#new
found.

I sent a special delivery letter Certified, HOWEVER the Royal Mail postal service returned it, "Addressee gone away". It looks as if theyhave shut the shop and run away.

if that's true, it looks bad for the Small Claims

If thats their registered address, then it could be good for those seeking small claims. The claim request is sent to their registered address, so if they arent there to recieve it and have no way of getting the documents then they have no way to respond to money claims or refute them.. 14 days after they are issued the person that made the claim can request an automatic judgement against them.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but I'm really hoping this is the case. I have filed my small claims and am waiting on them to attempt to refute it or just pay me my money

so it was a successful day for me. I payed my 30% deposit through paypal and my additional 70% via wire transfer.

I contacted paypal yesterday who opened a dispute and contacted alpha about it, but the dispute was immediately closed due to the 45 day rule. I called back this morning and pushed the issue until I got transfered to a supervisor. She said she had to do some research on it, so I fully explained the situatoin and how other people had already reported alpha to paypal, etc etc. Within an hour the 30% was back in my paypal account.

Then I contacted my bank on a hope and prayer regarding the wire transfer. Turns out they do have some options on wire transfers (at least USBank does). They are contacting alpha's bank and requesting the funds on grounds of fraud, and I have filed a report with USbank's fraud department as well. I will know more by Friday hopefully- I'll keep you guys posted.

Moral of the story- if paypal gives you the run around, call again, and again, and again. Be very nice to the people and I recommend immediately asking to speak with a supervisor or protection services. It also obviously helps if you run a decent amount of money through paypal every year- I threatened to switch companies and payment processors for a bunch of my stuff which i think helped to put pressure on paypal to rectify the situation rather than just passing the buck.

I'll update when I hear more on the wire transfer.

Hello, can you provide a screenshot with a transaction ID? Paypal says their policy is if they refund one person regarding Alpha-T, they refund everyone. But they couldn't find any record of a refund given. You'd be helping a lot of people out.

I'd post the screenshot on http://fightalpha.net along with your BTC donation address.

I defiantly would donate some BTC for an ID of a PAYPAL transaction that received refund. I am getting zero from my refund request from PayPal.

I've posted this to fightalpha: http://fightalpha.net/index.php?topic=30.0

I've won my claim against these guys, the court has now granted my judgement.

It cost's £70 to get the court to enforce this judgement, which will involve them sending bailiffs to the head office. Seeing as how that office has already been reported to be empty, is there any other address anyone knows of I can send the bailiffs to seize goods?

For everyone else, please explain your procedure for filing, what points you hit on, did they refute you with ToS, etc. I know I'd be happy to donate for that information, and im sure other people in the same situation would to.

somewhat of a legal question here, and I know you guys arent lawyers but its something that i think needs brought up. For the people still waiting to hear about the shares deal, what happens if they somehow do pull off a miracle and ship devices before the end of September, but prior to offering you shares or doing anything to move that forward?

If they ship them and you accept it prior to getting shares, is that technically the conculsion of the original contract you signed (which included nothing about share offerings)? Couldnt they then just not offer shares and claim the original contractual obligations were met? I understand that offering shares in a company is something that takes months worth of time, but their lack of transparency in this endevour makes me think they are just trying to bide their time. They could at least be releasing a road map, timeline, companies they are working with for audits, etc.

I'm not holding out for the shares, but i know there are people who are and this could be another way alpha sticks it to their customers.
7  Bitcoin / Mining / What is re-emission on: August 08, 2014, 05:24:17 PM
Ive seen some types of coins that say "full re-emission every X months." This is probably a very noob question, but what the heck is re-emission?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Double Spending on Anonymous coins? on: August 08, 2014, 03:11:45 PM
If transactions for a certain coin are truely anonymous, then how can they really protect against double spending?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Who decides the total number of coins? on: August 07, 2014, 02:29:12 PM
So as everyone keeps coming up with these new coins and new algorithms, how do they decide how many total coins to offer? I know LTC is exactly 4X as many BTC. Can anyone shed any light on this, or is it completely random and up to each individual coin maker? What are the possible positive and negative impacts on a somewhat random, finiate amount of coins?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is egalitarian proof of work algo? on: August 07, 2014, 02:22:29 PM
Ive seen some new coins that use this type of algorithm, but I dont really understand how it differs that much from others and how it makes these coins asic resistent? Can someone put it in laymens terms?
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many addresses do you think the average bitcoin user has? on: August 06, 2014, 02:21:25 PM
Wow, seems like everyone is in the 100+ range for the most part. For anyone asking about security issues from only using a few addresses- you should really only use 1 address per transaction. You don't want other people to have the ability to snoop around and see all of your funds moving around. I'm honestly suprised one of the millions of coins that have been created hasn't come up with a logical way to deal with the security issue of re-using addresses
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Untraceable payments on: August 06, 2014, 02:15:06 PM
What other technologies are working on this? I actually just heard about cryptonote in another thread.  And thats not the same Bytecoin that came out a while ago right? I found a couple of websites for Bytecoin and was confused...
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ASIC resistent coins? on: August 06, 2014, 02:08:31 PM
how does heftycoin differ from x11? Also, what is this crytponote stuff I saw mentioned in that article? I havent heard of that type of algo before
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: August 05, 2014, 10:43:56 PM
so thoughts on this law firm? I've also been contacted.. I see they did some work on the Mt Gox thing, but I dont see a final result nor do I see much from their clients in the case. Is this a scam within a scam?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Untraceable payments on: August 01, 2014, 06:18:47 PM
is there such thing as completely untraceable payments in the crypto currency world? I know bitcoin can be tracked through the blockchain- like when sheepsmarket was hacked and the guy followed him through hundreds of accounts and a tumbler. You would think for something as hardcore on anonymity as the crypto world there would be less transparency...
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How many addresses do you think the average bitcoin user has? on: August 01, 2014, 05:03:37 PM
as the title states, whats the average number of wallet addresses per bitcoin user? With the ability to trace transactions and link people together based on publically posted keys, I know many people (including myself) have generated unique addresses for nearly all transactions just to be safe. My guess is somewhere around 40-50 addresses at this point in time.. what are your guy's thoughts?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ASIC resistent coins? on: August 01, 2014, 04:53:04 PM
Is there such thing as a true ASIC resistent coin? I thought I had heard of a few attempts, but then I've seen ASIC developed for those types of encryption. We all know how quickly technology advances.. do you think its even possible to create a truely asic resistent coin, or will someone simply see the opportunity to make some quick cash and develop technology for it?
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I got my mother to buy 15 bitcoins over the past year. Have you done similar? on: August 01, 2014, 04:17:12 PM
Most people that know me know about bitcoin because I talk about it regularly. Like many have said, most of the older generations dont grasp the concept, and a few in my generation dont either. But lets be real.. the generations below us will fully understand and adopt it, thats when the investments really pay off.
19  Economy / Economics / The Economic Pros and Cons of ASIC technology developments on: August 01, 2014, 03:57:51 PM
I'd like to hear your guy's thoughts on the economic impact ASIC development has on the crypto-currency markets. I see it as both good and bad in some ways. ASIC development offers huge economic advantages to those who are fortunate enough to have enough fiat to pay for the miners, however, the need for a sizable fiat account to get into crypto-currency mining has a negative impact on the total number of people who are able to get into the game- which we all know mass adoption is the key to this industry and price inflation. What pros and cons do you see with the rapidly developing ASIC technology?
