1  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: February 05, 2024, 08:08:45 AM
Significant strikes have happened during the last two days in Crimea. Airfields first, and then a missile ship. I think that at this rate the Black Sea fleet is going to become the black sea open-sea aquarium if the war goes on for a year. Ruzzia is attacking wave after wave and smashing littles villages and a couple of mid-sized towns. I wonder if the economics work when comparing that with the Moscova, the submarine lost, the ILs and SUs lost and now a small-ish rocket boat from a few marine drone attack.

The crew of the ship... well, no chance of survival -  around 40 people punched the exit ticket from the world of the living. Just do not be stupid and do not die for Putin.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAx3F8vdeU8

You know the funniest thing is that you genuinely believe this crap
Do you know how many vessels make up a fleet in Russian military doctrine,Ukraine practically has no navy so they use underwater drones which are effective to a point,no navy of NATO would be able to withstand it as well as the Russians
Y'all making a fuss about irrelevant things and I wonder how you guys think,Ukraine is destroying Russian military equipments but no mention of how much Russia is destroying theirs none at all
Pretty biased if you ask me
Compare and contrast how america and their clown group of countries are being humiliated by the houthies,Ukraine has a standing military trained and equipped by all of NATO to the point that they've effectively been demilitarised themselves and yet they still need more funding and military equipment to be given to kyiv
Ask yourself what happened to all that's been sent so far, they're almost out of air defence assets as agreed by their officials and the western powers are trying to blackmail and coerce countries into sending old soviet stock irrespective of the agreements not to do such without the express agreement of Russia

The truth is that just like leaders in the west, very many have let their hatred for Russia born from sheer misinformation and propaganda cloud their common sense of reasoning and judgement, engaging in very dangerous and careless acts that are self hurting and destructive all in the bid to either harm Russia or kill a few Russians just like the very silly and destructive sanctions on Russia in which Europe basically shot itself in the head by refusing to buy cheap Russian gas which is the backbone of their economy thinking they were all powerful
It's madness what's going on,never in the history of the world has a superpower pushed to attack another superpower even by proxy they often limit their conflicts to other regions where they exert their influence yet the west by sheer need to somehow preserve their hegemony which has sailed away and or just stupidity and miscalculation has for the 1st time in history put themselves in a place where they can be considered as legit targets and supporters of yet another invasion into territories Russia considers it's own

To put it into context, imagine if Russia trained and armed mexico or the cartels in mexico which is the united states standard modus operandi and engaged in a violent overthrow o the government there and then launched attacks to reclaim territories which are historically theirs say california, Texas killing tens of thousands of us citizens and killing and injuring tens of thousands of us servicemen what would the reaction be
Wouldn't the us visit upon them what was visited upon the Japanese and we're all here spinning our propaganda acting like the Russians are the big bad wolf and terrible for the world when we know clearly who the agents of death and conflict and destabilization of governments around the world are(America)
I think it's high time we started telling ourselves the truth and not just what we're expected to say or believe, follow the money
Who benefits from every aremed conflict around the world ? Us and the collective west

"DCA" which is an investment strategy where an investor periodically buys fixed dollar amount of a particular investment regardless of the asset's price. This approach aims to reduce the impact of market volatility by spreading out the cost of investment. The investor decides on a fixed amount of money to invest at regular intervals, such as monthly or quarterly. Regardless of whether the market is up or down. The investor invests the same amount of money at each interval. The overall purchase price averages out. When prices are high, the fixed investment buys fewer unit and when prices are low the fixed investment buys more units. This can help reduce the impact of market volatility on the investment.

It's commonly could be for long-term investment goals, such as retirement savings.
Mate this ain't a newsletter or a journal, the focus is not on defining DCA but thinking up effective strategies to implement it in a bid to achieving better investment potentials say when to invest, how to invest, for how long to hold the investment
I suggest u read up more/previous posts to familiarize with the thread and topic of discussion

Depends on their plans towards their accumulation since there are people intend to split their balance into half so that they can use it for hodling and the other half for DCA then I find it good strategy to use after all since a person doing that may have balance to use in future if good thing happened which I expect since there's huge potential for bitcoin to grow more also they can ride up the current short term happening with bitcoin because they also have balance to use intended for it.

That's why its important for a person to know their priorities or set goals towards their trades and accumulation so that they would know what they really like to happen on their investments. I know its hard for some people to figure out what they like but constant experience towards the market events will help them gain knowledge and possibly they can create their own plan that can possibly generate them some good results.
I don't quite get your point,DCA is a method for accumulation in order to achieve a lower average purchasing price as the name implies(dollar cost averaging) so by definition DCA is used for hodling, what you're promoting is trading

As an investor especially one implementing DCA strategy, your plan should be accumulating as much btc as you can with the funds that you've set aside for investment and not thinking about capitalizing on little gains and selling off a portion of your accumulated coins due to bullish price action overtime that will greatly harm your portfolio and accumulation potential and overall it is generally not a viable investment strategy
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 29, 2024, 12:49:01 PM
You are new to the forum so I understand when you have this mindset and your line of thought. I came from the same background too until I learnt from this forum and got better. With time, you will learn the right approach and even put such knowledge to good use in your Bitcoin buying and holding. Now to set the records straight, our target is to buy Bitcoin and hold, base on our own financial capacity, for long term running into years.

Before getting started, it is better you have a target and plans you are working towards. This target is what will help you in the buying process as well as how you manage your Bitcoin asset after buying or while you are at it. for instance, many of us choose Bitcoin as a means of saving for the future, at least it has proven to be a reliable option for saving than keeping it in the bank to face inflation. Those of us in this category do not necessarily look at the price always because we are working according to budget where certain part of our income are injected into Bitcoin as they come to save for the future. If the price rise so much, that is a huge plus to us and even if it does not rise that much, there is no problems but chances are high that the price will rise over some years as the historic data of Bitcoin has shown. So the objective should be known from the beginning. If you believe in Bitcoin, then you must develop a long term objective for it as that is the best way to maximize the opportunities that Bitcoin offers.

I couldn't agree more with you, the main takeaway here is the mindset and approach, most people focus more on trading for the short term gains
This thread is meant to encourage investment mindset and to treat bitcoin as a tool for the future and not to be distracted by meagre price fluctuations for instance,if you were fortunate to have begun investing and holding bitcoin say 5 years ago, you'd have made ample profit by now, then imagine if you're still holding or if you invest now and hold for 5,7 or even 10 years think about the gains you'd have made by then
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 29, 2024, 12:30:24 PM
Those who want to hold Bitcoin for the long term must keep a close eye on the crypto market. Whenever you see a dip in Bitcoin price in the crypto market, you will try to buy and hold Bitcoin. But I know that Bitcoin will pump multiple times in the next few years.  .Now bin our time and expect to earn multiple times in a few years from now.
This is a very wrong approach to investment or accumulation and should be advised against
For instance, what if you never see a dip or one convincing enough especially since halfing is barely weeks away and the market is most likely to be bullish
What if you buy the dip and the dip dips even more, you'll then start contemplating selling in order to loose much

That's why this thread is very nice especially with encouraging use of DCA,if you understand the concept of DCA even partially then you'll find that just waiting for a dip is largely ineffective and time consuming since many factors affect the movement of the market

My advice to you just like this thread stresses on is to keep accumulating irrespective of price action(ie whether there is a dip or the market is bullish) the goal is to accumulate as much bitcoin as you can which overtime will increase your compound interest since bitcoin is projected to be bullish in the months and years to come

You need to stop looking at it from the perspective of trading and start thinking of btc more as an asset or more like fixed deposit and not just looking for ways to make small profit in the short term
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 29, 2024, 12:03:55 PM
Not only that, this factor alone requires reading the direction of the market. For example, if the market keeps going up and up in a day, slowly and normally, in general, the lowest price is what we are most looking for to buy, especially if we have set a schedule beforehand in a week, at least we can buy and BTC installments at least 3 times.

I think you're missing the point, the purpose of this thread is for longterm investment, to encourage accumulation of bitcoin and as such you shouldn't consider the lowest price or the movement of the market

There are many methods for accumulation but DCA is greatly encouraged because it negates the effect of price action
We highly advice you buy as much btc as you can whenever you can and in the event of a dip buy even more because in the long term,it will reduce your average purchase price(ie using DCA) and increase your compound interest
So you should focus more on having funds available to accumulate bitcoin irrespective of price action or movement of the market in the short term
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Everything is so logical the russia is the bad guy on: January 26, 2024, 06:33:47 AM
If everything would be so good in Russia, then probably they wouldn't have to use weapons and missiles from North Korea. C'mon, asking for military help from North Korea looks quite desperate move.
Let's look at basic thing like artillery shells. If they're making about 100k shells month, that's enough just for a week (various reports tells that they use about 20k shells daily.
Let's go to more complex things like tanks. No way that they can enough tanks to cover losses in Ukraine. If you think that they can make more than 20 tanks daily, you're living in alternative reality. I'm not even talking about things like fighter jets, ships or planes like A-50.
Added well trained and equipped troops - yeah, we all saw how well they're trained and prepared.

Sir you have no proof, you're just repeating mainstream media propaganda, the west equipped Ukraine and effectively built 3 armies that have been destroyed, their planning and tactics are so great yet the counteroffensive was defeated without achieving anything other than the loss of hundreds of thousands of troops, since then Russia has taken marinka, many villages around bakhmut, avdivka has almost fallen, same goes for all the villages bordering kupiansk and liman,or talk about the rabotino axis which was where Ukraine sacrificed most of their troops,go check out what's happening there
And I'm not being pro anything just do your research instead of repeating propaganda talking points, check maps of the battlefield pro-ukrainian maps and see for urself eg u can checkout deepsate map or any other of ur liking
PS Russia never at any point used t55,the fact that a t90 was destroyed is testament to how modern their equipments are,the Bradleys and tanks supplied to Ukraine are all a couple decades old,the f-16s especially from Netherland are over 50years old a complete clown show

Furthermore, you're pointing to Russian losses as if they're fighting themselves, just in this suicidal counteroffensive, Ukraine lost thousands of tanks and military equipments,Russia has effectively destroyed their air defences and are practically hitting everything in all parts of Ukraine, the uaf are effectively out of artillery shells and guns(heck the whole world is out of 155mm artillery shells) and yet somehow you still pushing the narrative that Ukraine and the west are somehow winning
Russia has occupied and annexed 90% of the territories they wanted and in the process have demilitarised NATO as a whole and yet somehow you want to claim Russia is weak and obsolete
9  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Negligence and disinterest — it takes 2 to tango on: January 22, 2024, 09:20:40 AM
In light of the deteriorating economic, socioeconomic, political, infrastructural and security situations in the country,it is only proper to note that these are products of disastrous and counterproductive policies by the government, the massive and widespread corruption, misuse and embezzlement of public funds, nepotism in all sectors of the economy and adverse effects of political godfatherism, religious, cultural and ethnic divisions and major discrepancies in class and wealth among the citizens
The redundant and corrupt legal and judicial system, the barely functional legislative system and the sheer underdevelopment of the industrial, commerce, tech and financial sectors of the country

In spite of all these, one cannot overstress the fact that citizens have a major role to play and the neglect and lack of interest mostly fueled by years of empty promises and futile negotiations between the government and the citizens, the distrust on the part of the populace and the mounting insecurities and economic degradation has forced people to focus more on earning a living and not paying attention to government policies and or happenings in the country

Nonetheless,we are urged to pay as much attention as we can and engage at different levels with policy makers, governments at various levels and relevant individuals to enact the change we wish to see and push our country towards more favourable decisions,to better our economy and improve the standard of living of the masses.
10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Everything is so logical the russia is the bad guy on: January 21, 2024, 05:13:30 PM

It's quite democratic, yes. Congress specifically authorized the president to do that. And in our country, the president is elected.

Democracies aren't always right and they aren't always perfect, but they are far better than the alternative.

It's simply unfathomable that the US could engage in a war like Putin is waging now in Ukraine because our government is accountable to the people.

Which part did congress give permission for exactly,Syrian occupation which till date the USA denies, troops in Iraq which are never mentioned,I guess congress also gave permission for the recent strikes in Yemen or for the billions spent on military aid(bombs, artilerry shells and guns, air defence) being sent to Israel weekly.plus congress is owned by defence contractors that's y they never have money to develop america or to alleviate poverty or curb homelessness but they always have money for military spending and interventions around the world

Also by saying your president is elected I take it you're kinda saying Russia doesn't have elected leaders since that's the narrative the mainstream media projects "Putin's a bad dictator and the Russian people have no choice and or are unhappy"
I guess saying you should do your own research is in order
Yeah Trump is being dragged up and down, facing court cases and being removed from the ballot in states,so much so for democracy
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Everything is so logical the russia is the bad guy on: January 20, 2024, 08:12:45 AM

Russia isn't waging a proxy war against Ukraine, they are attacking them directly, and suffering heavy losses. I have no doubt China would do the same.

The USA is a democracy and as such we can't get away with sending large numbers of our kids to needless slaughter.

How many us troops are in Iraq,Syria, cyprus, turkey, egypt, philipines, germany, japan, many parts of Africa both those officially reported and those they can't disclose their presence including plausible in Ukraine and or Israel/Gaza
Get ur facts straight, the president has provisions to deploy up to 90,000 troops without congressional jurisdiction
Does that sound democratic to you?
Many us servicemen and women have been sent into harms way that you don't hear in the mainstream media until public opinion shifts to such issues or until they take casualties and they can no longer hide the reports

[
It's a double negative. If nobody will not use them then somebody will Wink

Jokes aside, I'm not sure if Putin is completely sane. He uses nuclear arsenal as a deterrent saying that if attacked he will use them, but at the same time attacks other countries hoping that they won't. I'm also pretty sure that Ukrainians would nuke Russia if they had access to nukes, the same way that Palestinians would nuke Israel.
Knowing that, I think it's not a question if but when.

Take your idea of a war with NATO. NATO is much stronger than Russia, even if Russia was using Chinese weapons. It could prolong the war, but it wouldn't win it, mainly due to untrained army that would have to fight well trained artillery and tank crews from Germany, France and Sweden. Russia sends convicts to Ukraine because that's all they can do without weakening their borders. They expected a war that would last weeks and it's been years. What would happen if they started a war and lost it? Do you think NATO would push them back to the border and stop there? Defeated Russia might try to cover their escape with nuclear weapons.
What parameters did you base your argument on?
Britain is effectively out of arms and has no military stockpile(check out articles in the daily telegraph which is a British media company or others like it),Germany is planning to train and field 5,000 -30,000 troops to be sent to the Baltics by 2027,
According to and admitted by western intelligence Russia is outproducing the entire west ie USA and all it's allies NATO inclusive in artillery, drones, missiles, tanks, aircrafts, ships, submarines, practically in everything Russia outproduces the west and in terms of troops, well simply put last year Russia added 500,000 plus troops well trained and equipped to the smo in Ukraine something none of the western countries is able to do
The USA is experiencing up to 65% fall in recruitment targets, all European militaries are a joke, they've never at any point in history been able to stand in the way of the Russian military so where are you getting your claims from or is it just wishful thinking

Also nuclear weapons are for deterrence and you thinking a conflict with a nuclear armed power means the other nation will be nuked means you're ill informed for instance Iran very recently had clashes with Pakistan and nukes weren't even mentioned so you need to stop all this fantasy and focus on reality

War also involves economy to sustain it,if a war were to break out between NATO and Russia ,the entire eurozone is in recession,Germany has been de-industrialised,France and Britain essentially have no standing army of more than 100,000 troops and that's me exaggerating, the USA's economy is a joke cos it's more of a virtual economy focusing on stocks and shares and outsourcing production to other countries and Russia which effectively produces everything it uses en masse backed by China the largest economy in the world, not mentioning iran, north Korea,Belarus and India
How exactly is it that you see NATO being able to even engage in not to talk of winning such a conflict

Currently, Russia does not pose a clear threat to other countries except Ukraine, but Western provocations may push it to do so. The expansion of the conflict outside Ukraine is what is causing turmoil in the global economic market and is what has compounded the crisis. The policy of economic sanctions on Russia had the opposite effect.

If you believe that Russia is the most important actor in the world, then your conclusions are completely inaccurate. There is a war between two camps, one led by the United States and the other led by China, and the Ukrainian war is only one manifestation of that conflict. Those forces that lead the alliances are the ones capable of causing the global economy to contract or stagnate.

So China made Russia invade Ukraine? How did they pull that off?

It did not make Russia Ukraine, but it supported that military operation and did not declare its opposition to it from the beginning, as most countries in the world did. It also did not abide by the international sanctions imposed on Russia and expressed its approval to buy Russian petroleum products. Isn't this considered declared support?

You can imagine what the situation would have been like if China had not been an ally of Russia, or it can be said that China is the one moving things behind the scenes on the Russian side, just as the United States plays the same role on the Ukrainian-western side.

Were there any international sanctions imposed on Russia in connection with the smo in Ukraine or were they just us and the collective west sanctions?
Your analysis is very flawed and is very funny to read, you're implying that Russia an economic powerhouse, the largest country in the world in terms of land mass, the country with the largest deposits of oil, natural gas and other natural resources(till date america still imports uranium from Russia and even LNG),the largest producer of oil, natural gas, fertilizers, grains,a technological hub,a nuclear armed superpower with one of the if not the largest military industrial bases since recorded history of wars especially the 2world wars able to defeat Nazi Germany and  liberate all of eastern Europe
You're trying to make the argument that that same Russia is somehow a proxy and is being funded and or controlled albeit behind the scenes by China?
Totally laughable claim and devoid of reality

We having been discussing about the DCAing accumulation process for some time now but haven't put into consideration on how to take profits.
I might be wrong and will gladly ascept any correction but I think their should be a time to invest and a time to begin taking profits, one step needs to be attained first before taking the other.
It is best to live the investment from your DCAing to mature after completing the budget reaching a significant price during the bull run it can also be from personal decision and the way we view the market.

You're still thinking short term and in such cases you should just take your profit like every normal trader but when you talk of accumulation of btc and using dca as a risk proof investment strategy then you start seeing the market in a different light and even when you've made some profit you'll tend to view it as an opportunity to invest more

Think of it as a business strategy, how many big cooperations or firms do you ever see their investors or shareholders sell their shares simply because the stock value is increasing and they've made considerable profit?? Of course none or rather very few instead they double down on it and invest more because the profit only signals that they're on the right trend and the business is likely to grow and amass even more profit

Why take profit when you can hold out for a couple more years,I think unless you have a critical life challenge that inevitably requires you to sell out all you ow,I seriously think this a wrong and hurtful approach to investment
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 17, 2024, 10:03:08 PM
For those people who do really know on how to read up charts and able to compare in between months and years in regarding about plotting out those points then you would really be able to find that
it is really that in upward movement but thing here is that people wouldnt really be minding about those increments but rather they are really that focusing that much on whats the price in front of them.
If they are expecting $50k then having this current price of 40k+ would really be just that low and goes on when we hit against on 50k+ and it would continue.

They would only realize thingso n the time that they've seen that theyre left behind and have those regrets that they should have hold or bought more on last year specially when the price
hits up $15k on which we can all say that this is really the sweetest spot.

I don't think that as an investor you should be thinking this way or even considering it that's why dca is greatly encouraged especially for someone on the journey of accumulation

Using dca method clearly helps eliminate what you're suggesting,an investor especially one who uses this method is never late to invest and whether the price goes up or down you'll realise it's a win-win situation for you,if you buy and the price drops then it means that when you buy the dip your average becomes way lower than you even projected which is also a big win for any investor
Therefore you should focus on how much you can buy at any given time and not necessarily the current price or what the price was a year ago

I particularly expect heavy criticism for my posts,I mean come to think of it this forum has thousands of members who've been on it for quite some time gaining experience and insight into a lot of matters,I'm not trying to discredit newbies or anything but realistically a newbie ought to be either clearly wrong in some speculations or shortsighted hence the need for constructive criticism and I consider it a loss on the part of a newbie if he/she takes criticism to heart and doesn't consider the flip side which is correction or a source of improvement in the relevance and information contained in the post
15  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The effects of NEPOTISM (MAN KNOW MAN) in Nigeria on: January 17, 2024, 11:08:49 AM
Very valid argument, nepotism even in it's littlest form has a lot of disadvantages just like you pointed out however one can't just be critical of it

In the minds of the average man, when nepotism favours you it's "divine connection" and when it doesn't it becomes "corruption",and for the political elites, you wouldn't necessarily expect them to do otherwise since many alliances and cooperations are formed on this basis, even the country itself can be argued to have been gotten/formed as a result of nepotism directly or indirectly

Nepotism however harmful is a core and entrenched part of society one which can't be easily eliminated especially through criticism since every class of society in one form or another benefits from it and surely won't want to see it gone

Who is to blame then for the adverse effects of nepotism, the government, institutions, the people or society at large?

If I may ask with our disrupting this thread what is the main purpose of accumulating bitcoin for long term, cause if you are not selling When it's high and making profit or is there something I dont know about the long-term investment in bitcoin and its benefits, cause I'm a little bit confused on why I should be accumulating bitcoin for long term if not to make profit. Are they any hidden benefits of doing this. I'm not a hater, I just want to learn, if purpose is not know then misuse is inevitable. I'm coming to understand how DCA works by going through the thread but, I don't see a place my dcaing ends for me to make profit. I'm not looking for a get rich scheme in bitcoin accumulation. I just want to know the exact reasons that would be motivating everyone to hold for long without any sell plan. I just started investing in bitcoin last week with my first 10$ investment, quite small but its a start since my salary is small for now, I really want to catch up, but I need clarification on this since I'm.beign bothered about it.
Long term investment is the best because it gives you time to be able to learn, invest and grow your investment into a certain height rather than you are buying and selling to buy back again, putting you at risk of running at loss. when you make the wrong moves. Long term investment also lowers the risk in bitcoin investment because the longer the timeline of your investment with size, the higher the risk reduces. This is because from history, it has shown that bitcoin price dip bottom line is always lower than the next circle dip bottom line.

Lastly, there is what is called compound interest(profit), this is the same for bitcoin and this is where long-term investors are happy that they started their bitcoin journey early when the price of bitcoin was $500 and imagine that they are still hodling those bitcoins till now. If you buy $10,000 worth of bitcoin at $2,000 per bitcoin and after 4yrs bitcoin price increases to $4000 per bitcoin, it means that the price doubled and your bitcoin worth will increase to $20,000, which means that you have an additional $10,000 profit and if you don't sell and hodli for another 4yrs, your $20,000 worth of bitcoin investment will have yield a profit of $20,000 based on the percentage price increments for on bitcoin.

If it happens that you buy and sell at every circle, you will be lacking behind in your bitcoin portfolio size and you will make very little profit from each circle compared to the person that will hodli for 8yrs and above. Bitcoin long term investors are building their piling up their profit to reap from it in future when it has compounded to an amount that can change your standard of living and turn your life around. This is why we need to live and invest for the future and not to be after what profit that we will make today with bitcoin.

I guess this is mostly applicable to traders with relatively large capital base, for a small time trader with minimal capital I don't think this is quite plausible or sustainable even
I'll suggest scalp trading especially for committed traders with little capital, yes there are risks associated with it but with proper and in depth technical analysis, one can circumvent those risks and grow capital even to the point of engaging in long-term trading

First off age is neither a test for maturity nor wisdom
We live in a contemporary world, one in which the elderly or alleged matured folk are rapidly losing touch with reality whilst still harbouring outdated ideas of how the world works.

The strength and future of any nation lies in it's labour pool and this comprises primarily of youths or younger people who tend to be more adventurous, curious, more enlightened and more technology savvy in comparison to their older counterparts
Moreover,it is widely known that  in almost all countries of the world, the youths are increasingly asserting their influence and leveraging their position to create more opportunities for involvement even in critical sectors like politics and leadership roles, defence and military, finance, industrial and technological sectors

The current prime minister of france Gabriel Attal is 34yrs old
The crown prince and prime minister of Saudi Arabia M B S is 38yrs old
The head of state of Burkina Faso cpt Ibrahim Traore is 36yrsold
These are few examples of very young people occupying important positions and playing vital roles on the global stage

In a nutshell, the world as we know it has already changed and is changing still therefore we must try to be less rigid so as to be able to move with the tends and not be caught in between the fading and the emerging era's
18  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / The importance of goal-setting and visioning on: January 16, 2024, 06:33:21 PM
As the saying goes "he who fails to plan inadvertently plans to fail"
In the struggle for self actualization and on the pathway to success,it is of grave importance that one must develop a keen sense of focus, sheer persistence and perseverance, willful commitment never having to lose sight of the prize even for a split second

Having detailed and pre-set goals is of utmost importance as it gives one purpose and a sense of fulfillment especially when the set goals are achieved.In a bid to effectively and quickly actualise such goals,one must cultivate certain measures;

PLANNING:As I already pointed out earlier, having a good plan is very essential because it helps to instill orderliness,a sense of responsibility and also serves as a guide to to properly achieve what you've set out to achieve. This can be done by creating a list of all the activities or tasks to be undertaken over a period of time(daily, weekly etc) and embarking on them either randomly or in the order of listing or importance

Proper time management:Time as we all know is one of if not the most important commodity on earth because once it passes/is lost can never be regained,as such one must make ample use o their time
One of the best ways to do this is by allocating specific amounts of time to specific tasks and trying to stick to it in order to maximize achievement. Also one must very well know the value of time and avoid or regulate time spent on low value and not so important activities

Shunning procrastination:Procrastination is a major enemy of success because it breeds laziness and leads to massive underperformance. In order to overcome it,one needs to be more proactive and take the initiative to perform tasks in a timely manner greatly utilising the concept of proper time management in order to attain optimum performance

Consistency/Commitment:Very often, the setbacks or failures we encounter can be attributed to lack of consistency/commitment
This is one of the most difficult measures to adopt though it is gravely important.Any achievement one enjoys in life often comes at a price of relentless pursuit, trials and error, sacrifices etc. One must therefore develop an iron will and remain focused on the process bearing in mind that the end result(success) will be worth every ounce of commitment or sacrifice made

Conclusively, let us be reminded that "as we make our beds so we shall lie on them"
It is of paramount importance that we apply these principles in the daily conduct of our lives, work space and in our forum involvement
I am also a huge partaker in this advice as I still have a long way to go in life but I'm confident that with the above principles and more contributions that will be coming from erudite members of this forum,we will engage profitably, learn and be successful.

Let me start by saying that success is when preparation meets opportunity and there's an adage that says you don't watch the masquerade whilst standing at a spot.
Most life decisions especially with respect to career choices and or just means of earning a livelihood are subject to a lot of factors like luck, connection, educational qualification, religious, social and cultural beliefs, health conditions, family to mention but a few

There is no definite or cut out path towards success, yes it is the fact that especially in Africa, success has always been attributed to hardwork but in recent times with a surge in technological innovations and diversified career options mostly revolving around the digital world(use of gadgets like computers, mobile phones etc)the importance of trade learning and career anchored on or around brute force has been greatly downgraded not so much as in an effort to underscore it's benefits but rather in a bid to promote smarter and less strength intensive career options since either approach leads to same end result(earning a living and or becoming successful)
