Changing the base unit would cause a lot of confusion; I think we're better off using kilodollars (kUSD). Or to prevent having to change units again soon after that, we could skip right to bernankes (1 bernanke = 100,000,000 USD).

If you want something capable of scaling to any significant volume, it's not as simple as buying a set-up exchange; it's an ongoing project you're going to need a team of people for. You'll need backend work, fontend work, design, system administration, security inspection, financial law and tax expertise....

Episode available for reservation: E08 Our Bright Future 1:17:25 Whoever answers this post first, quoting all of the above, will hold the new reservation for that episode. New reservations will only last one week, and may not be extended afterwards. There is NO WAIT LIST. Reserving E08.

I'll take E31, please. If Cyrus doesn't extend his reservation, my second choice would be E44.
If those two reservations are extended then I'd be fine with one of any of the ones listed below but would prefer E31:
E32 Sneaks Law and Bitcoins Next 2... 1:17:54 AVAILABLE SOON E19 Making It Up As You Go 1:11:47 AVAILABLE SOON E08 Our Bright Future 1:17:25 AVAILABLE SOON
I don't want it to look like I'm trying to claim all these episodes, I just want to make sure I can secure one of them given the possibility of reservation extensions.
So, again, E31 is my first choice. None of those episodes are available yet, and there is no wait list. Wait until qwk makes a post that one is available, and then if you're the first to answer you can reserve it. See qwk's post: The following reservations have expired: E32 Sneaks Law and Bitcoins Next 2... 1:17:54 AVAILABLE SOONE19 Making It Up As You Go 1:11:47 AVAILABLE SOONE08 Our Bright Future 1:17:25 AVAILABLE SOONI've given a 48 hour grace period to extend reservations and they've not been reclaimed. I'll make these episodes available again in several single postings, which will look like this: Whoever answers that specific post first, quoting all of the above, will hold the new reservation for that episode. New reservations will only last one week, and may not be extended afterwards. They will be made publicly available without further notice. There is NO WAIT LIST. The following reservations have expired or will expire soon: E44 Ive Seen Better Days 1:04:00 R inkadnb 2013-12-14E17 Context and Community 1:08:46 R AWSOM 2013-12-14E37 Meeting Mastercoin 1:03:56 R devthedev 2013-12-20E31 The Regulatory Question 59:29 R Cyrus 2013-12-20If you want to extend your reservation, please post in this thread within the next 48 hours. I will only extend reservations for a week from now on. After the 48 hour grace period, I'll make the episodes available again.

Are you trying to ask whether, if you were to go to an exchange (they have websites!) and look at the BTC/USD volume, it would be lower recently than at an unspecified time in the past?
Are you saying no one will mine because there will be too much competition?
The problem with giving out your private key is that then people can take your money.
I hadn't seen that they charge a fee over market price. This could actually work; they are selling DGC with a married put option.
The best way to do this (to achieve fair market pricing of the option premium) would be to have an options market. Then, to make it easy to use for people who don't want to have to understand options, someone could sell BTC bundled with corresponding put options as in the OP.

qwk is making episodes available one episode at a time
Yeah, giving away options for free sounds unsustainable. If the price drops, there's no way the "bank" could stay solvent..
Wow, that's a big fee. I'm sorry to hear that you've lost so much. Have you tried contacting GHash.IO yet? It's unlikely they'd return it but that's the only way, and it's worth a shot.
Since blockchain.info didn't have the private keys to sign any modifications to your transaction, it must have been created incorrectly. What software did you use? Do you have any log of the commands you used to create the raw transaction?
You signed the transaction, blockchain.info couldn't have modified it.
> I specified a no-fee transaction using one specific input and creating one specific output.
The fee is the difference between the value of the inputs and the value of the outputs. If you don't want to include a fee, you'll need an output for the "change" left over.

The problem is you have to trust the company that issues them.
So in your case, to set up the configuration: autosend create split ADDRESS_TO_SEND_FROM YOUR_ADDRESS:0.5 FRIENDS_ADDRESS:0.5 And then whenever you run this: It will split up the coins.
Asking someone to compile something for you requires a lot of trust; you'd be much better off doing the compilation yourself so that you can check over the modifications for any obvious malfeasance.

Yay, categories!
Minor bug: (in chrome) category list goes past the bottom of the page, no way to scroll it
Sounds like a big project.
What are you looking for volunteers (or employees?) to do, other than populating the forums?
