61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposed Revaluation of the US Dollar on: December 21, 2013, 09:47:23 PM
Changing the base unit would cause a lot of confusion; I think we're better off using kilodollars (kUSD). Or to prevent having to change units again soon after that, we could skip right to bernankes (1 bernanke = 100,000,000 USD).
62  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Win upto 10 bitcoins on: December 21, 2013, 06:50:45 PM
If you want something capable of scaling to any significant volume, it's not as simple as buying a set-up exchange; it's an ongoing project you're going to need a team of people for. You'll need backend work, fontend work, design, system administration, security inspection, financial law and tax expertise....
63  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] 0.15 BTC per transcript of LetsTalkBitcoin on: December 19, 2013, 10:19:50 PM
Episode available for reservation:
E08 – Our Bright Future 1:17:25

Whoever answers this post first, quoting all of the above, will hold the new reservation for that episode.
New reservations will only last one week, and may not be extended afterwards.

There is NO WAIT LIST.

Reserving E08.
64  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] 0.15 BTC per transcript of LetsTalkBitcoin on: December 19, 2013, 08:30:07 PM
I'll take E31, please.  If Cyrus doesn't extend his reservation, my second choice would be E44.

If those two reservations are extended then I'd be fine with one of any of the ones listed below but would prefer E31:

E32 – Sneak’s Law and Bitcoins Next 2... 1:17:54 AVAILABLE SOON
E19 – Making It Up As You Go 1:11:47 AVAILABLE SOON
E08 – Our Bright Future 1:17:25 AVAILABLE SOON

I don't want it to look like I'm trying to claim all these episodes, I just want to make sure I can secure one of them given the possibility of reservation extensions.

So, again, E31 is my first choice.

None of those episodes are available yet, and there is no wait list. Wait until qwk makes a post that one is available, and then if you're the first to answer you can reserve it. See qwk's post:

The following reservations have expired:
E32 – Sneak’s Law and Bitcoins Next 2... 1:17:54 AVAILABLE SOON
E19 – Making It Up As You Go 1:11:47 AVAILABLE SOON
E08 – Our Bright Future 1:17:25 AVAILABLE SOON

I've given a 48 hour grace period to extend reservations and they've not been reclaimed.
I'll make these episodes available again in several single postings, which will look like this:
Quote
Episode available for reservation:
E00 – Episode Title 1:01:01
Whoever answers that specific post first, quoting all of the above, will hold the new reservation for that episode.
New reservations will only last one week, and may not be extended afterwards.
They will be made publicly available without further notice.

There is NO WAIT LIST.

The following reservations have expired or will expire soon:
E44 – I’ve Seen Better Days 1:04:00 R inkadnb 2013-12-14
E17 – Context and Community 1:08:46 R AWSOM 2013-12-14
E37 – Meeting Mastercoin 1:03:56 R devthedev 2013-12-20
E31 – The Regulatory Question 59:29 R Cyrus 2013-12-20
If you want to extend your reservation, please post in this thread within the next 48 hours.
I will only extend reservations for a week from now on.
After the 48 hour grace period, I'll make the episodes available again.

67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any slowdown of the rate people trade BTC for USD? on: December 17, 2013, 09:04:40 PM
Are you trying to ask whether, if you were to go to an exchange (they have websites!) and look at the BTC/USD volume, it would be lower recently than at an unspecified time in the past?
68  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be dead before mining factor comes at 0.01 USD/24h@1GHash/s !!! on: December 17, 2013, 08:44:02 PM
Are you saying no one will mine because there will be too much competition?
69  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: IMHO one major problem of BTC and how to fix it on: December 17, 2013, 08:37:43 PM
The problem with giving out your private key is that then people can take your money.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Something Like the DigitalCoin Free Bank Exist for Bitcoin? on: December 14, 2013, 12:12:03 AM
I hadn't seen that they charge a fee over market price. This could actually work; they are selling DGC with a married put option.

The best way to do this (to achieve fair market pricing of the option premium) would be to have an options market. Then, to make it easy to use for people who don't want to have to understand options, someone could sell BTC bundled with corresponding put options as in the OP.

72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Something Like the DigitalCoin Free Bank Exist for Bitcoin? on: December 13, 2013, 11:32:37 PM
Yeah, giving away options for free sounds unsustainable. If the price drops, there's no way the "bank" could stay solvent..

74  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info Pushtx BS'd me, need help on: December 10, 2013, 12:27:42 AM
Wow, that's a big fee. I'm sorry to hear that you've lost so much. Have you tried contacting GHash.IO yet? It's unlikely they'd return it but that's the only way, and it's worth a shot.

Since blockchain.info didn't have the private keys to sign any modifications to your transaction, it must have been created incorrectly. What software did you use? Do you have any log of the commands you used to create the raw transaction?
75  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info Pushtx BS'd me, need help on: December 09, 2013, 10:34:50 PM
You signed the transaction, blockchain.info couldn't have modified it.

> I specified a no-fee transaction using one specific input and creating one specific output.

The fee is the difference between the value of the inputs and the value of the outputs. If you don't want to include a fee, you'll need an output for the "change" left over.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Idea for mainstream adoption -- Preloaded Bitcoin Wallets on: December 09, 2013, 01:17:20 AM
The problem is you have to trust the company that issues them.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is it possible to automatically split incoming transactions to other wallets? on: December 08, 2013, 10:34:34 PM
So in your case, to set up the configuration:

Code:
autosend create split ADDRESS_TO_SEND_FROM YOUR_ADDRESS:0.5 FRIENDS_ADDRESS:0.5

And then whenever you run this:

Code:
autosend execute

It will split up the coins.
78  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Hiring Python Developer] Modify Stratum Mining Proxy on: December 08, 2013, 04:23:47 AM
Asking someone to compile something for you requires a lot of trust; you'd be much better off doing the compilation yourself so that you can check over the modifications for any obvious malfeasance.
79  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Community-run list of Bitcoin merchants (help me fill it!) on: December 07, 2013, 07:38:00 PM
Yay, categories!

Minor bug: (in chrome) category list goes past the bottom of the page, no way to scroll it
80  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking For Trusted People To Help Build A Network on: December 07, 2013, 03:10:40 AM
Sounds like a big project.

What are you looking for volunteers (or employees?) to do, other than populating the forums?
