261  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 27, 2017, 10:33:37 PM
No, I'm the only honest person on the entire forum that doesn't make up lies claiming bitcoin is a more sound form of money than gold and silver.

Bitcoin is a more sound form of money. Can you use your mobile app to pay in gold for goods and services? Are you delusional?

I wonder how many confirmations would the local starbucks need before accepting a gold nugget as authentic and serve me my coffee... And I don't think a blocksize increase nor second layer are on the works for gold market.

In some countries you can't pay things with gold(and most stores would not accept it if otherwise), and how would be the standard low pay starbuck employee be able to evaluate the value of a gold nugget and if it is counterfeit or not?

Just woke up, what a mess  Shocked As expected... This is the reason why Bitcoin never will succeed. People can´t trust this. Now the media shitstorm will start all over again.

It's a good thing.  If you could play god and decide whether silver or bitcoin will be the main monetary instrument of the common man on the planet and get to insider invest beforehand, there is ZERO reason anyone should choose bitcoin.  Metals are a better store of value, lower counter party risk, just as much or higher upside potential as bitcoin (for silver), and it's 100% inevitable if bitcoin doesn't die it would be completely co-opted by the state and turned into a cashless society slave system.

Hey R0ach, why do you always speak as if there a war between gold/silver and Bitcoin for world currency dominance, and only one could win and the other will certainly die Huh
You know that Bitcoin doesn't have to be the main monetary instrument of common people to be a good investment, right?. There will ever be only 21M Bitcoins mined, so even if less than 1% of the people in the planet invest in Bitcoin, still will be more than enough to make most of us filth rich.

Bitcoin and metals can live happy and together
263  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Exchanges Brasileiras compartilhe suas experiências. on: May 27, 2017, 02:05:35 AM

I would like to see someone like Marcus or Elwar who is all-in on bitcoin try to debunk my hypothesis that the economics of bitcoin don't actually work in the long term in comparison to metals:

Why the economics of bitcoin don't actually work - What Satoshi really meant when he said the price would either be a lot or zero

http://steemit.com/bitcoin/@r0achtheunsavory/the-r0ach-report-13-why-the-economics-of-bitcoin-don-t-actually-work-what-satoshi-really-meant-when-he-said-the-price-would

I have discussed some of this with Steve @ SRSRocco before and he didn't seem to see any holes in it.

Satoshi was a talented coder, who didn't exactly seem like a visionary in economics and finance. He succeeded perfectly in creating a secure public ledger, that brought forward the idea of innovative and effective financial solutions. Bitcoin isn't a solution itself to any important financial or economic problems. It lacks a proper identity. It's not a proper currency, because it lacks the mechanism of price stability and it's not a proper asset because it lacks much use outside of speculation. It's value is mostly fueled by greed or by financial transactions the need the increased anonymity. I don't think that these things will hold the value high for very long. I see that the future is in development through alts. First we'll see first proper assets, and then in years to come, we'll hopefully also see the coming of a proper currency. Alts have the advantages to bring forward new radical change that is needed to increase the complexity of the system. Alts can bring forward fast development, while bitcoin development is stagnant in even the simplest technical changes.

Satoshi was not a coder, was more a mathematician. He only designed Bitcoin, but didn't wrote a single line of code. Others people did it and implemented Bitcoin in the real world, and made the Core.

Also your argument that Bitcoin is like nothing that already exists so it will fail is kind of...funny Huh
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirming the unconfirmed transactions. on: May 26, 2017, 06:16:02 AM
The only way I can think to help people get their transactions faster is get in contact with some mining pool and offer them money in exchange of confirmation using whatever criteria you have. Won't be cheap and still the block size, so the number of transactions in a single block, would not change.

As a common user only thing I can think about is don't send unnecessary transactions for now.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lets see how many of you are buying this time? on: May 26, 2017, 04:33:28 AM
Australia is about to treat Bitcoin just like money, more or less like Japan did when January started.

Here is one source: http://www.valuewalk.com/2017/05/australia-bitcoin-tax/

Since Japan legalized Bitcoin the price went from around $1100 to $2300+ in less than 2 months.

Also ends of months are dump time, because people need to pay taxes and other things, so if your main income is Bitcoin, then you'll have to sell Bitcoins.

I wouldn't sell now, and would buy before the month ends, because of Australia
267  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Coinmama / Blockchain on: May 26, 2017, 03:59:10 AM

268  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-05-26]Bitcoin could see a 47% correction, but some say it's going to $6k on: May 26, 2017, 03:56:51 AM
Bitcoin could see a 47% correction, but some say it's going to $6,000
  • Bitcoin rallied to a fresh record high of over $2,700 on Thursday.
  • One analyst said that the cryptocurrency is close to a key level of $2,800 which could signal a correction.
  • The analyst told CNBC that the correction could see bitcoin fall as far as $1,470, marking a 46.5 percent decline.

Bitcoin is close to hitting a price that could see a 47 percent correction, according to one analyst, following a huge rally for the cryptocurrency that has led it to record highs.

On Thursday, bitcoin hit an all-time high of $2791.70, according to CoinDesk data, marking a 180 percent rally year-to-date.

Meanwhile, the number of long positions – those betting on bitcoin to rise – has risen 18.2 percent, while short positions – those thinking the cryptocurrency will fall – have declined 10 percent since the start of the week, showing that traders are getting more bullish on the cryptocurrency, according to data from Bitfinex.

One technical analyst, who looks at historical trading patterns to determine future price moves, told CNBC that the $2,800 could mark a level of resistance where the bitcoin pulls back. Bitcoin was as little as $9 off of that price on Thursday morning.

Nicola Duke, an analyst at analysis platform Forex Analytix, uses a form of technical analysis known as Fibonacci retracement, which looks at the peaks and troughs of previous "waves" or rallies and falls in bitcoin to get a sense of where the future price of an asset could move.

270  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Bitcoin R$10.000 chegamos ao topo? on: May 26, 2017, 03:44:30 AM

271  Other / Meta / Re: New to this forum, wanting to sell a 2012 Casascius 1 BTC on: May 25, 2017, 04:57:07 AM
Hi. You should go to the collectibles  and list your sale:

Also don't forgot to mention what is the condition of the coin, etc, like you would do in any sales site.

People might not trust you because you are a newbie with 1 post.

You happened to you have a 2012 1BTC Casascius coin and still be a newbie here?
272  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC market cap is now $40,000,000,000 on: May 25, 2017, 04:47:55 AM
Meaning, it's still only worth a fraction of what a tech giant is. (~500B range)

except the fact the market value of a tech giant and the market cap of Bitcoin, as defined as number of coins mined x price, have nothing in common and shouldn't be compared.

it is like comparing your weight with someone else's balance in the bank account, they have nothing in common.
273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Picture Speculation on: May 25, 2017, 04:44:42 AM

Have we done it?

How many people are using Bitcoin and how many may use it in the future?

There are more than 7B people in the world. Less than 5M bitcoiners, probably much less. Do you really thing we are near the saturation of BTC usage?
274  Economy / Economics / Re: Possible big Crash coming within 10 days on: May 25, 2017, 04:39:07 AM
Why is the big crash bound to happen?

Why in 10 days?

Why would be big enough to bring the price "to the ground", whateve that mean?
The experts probably don't know what Bitcoin is, so their opinion doesn't matter, because Bitcoin is a different kind of kind.

Also sometimes there are a few business that valuated as much as Bitcoin did recently. What was internet in the 1990's and what is today? What about the Apple shares? What about the electronics and the computer industry? Etc.

What I see is few people with bitcoin(1M to 3M at most) and a potential for several dozens of millions at least using Bitcoin in the future. Can't see nothing but big rises in the long term.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: May 25, 2017, 04:08:37 AM
Rich people already have all the finances of the world, and all the establishment working for them, why would they care about mere $50B markets and new technologies that works in favor of those who are outcasts for the economical and political establishment?

I think they don't care about Bitcoin. For now.
276  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Novo record: Bitcoin ultrapassa os U$ 2.000 on: May 25, 2017, 04:05:20 AM

Melhor ir fazer alguma coisa e esperar a alta terminar.
277  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Campanhas de assinaturas que aceitam posts locais on: May 25, 2017, 03:57:38 AM

278  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Core vs Unlimited! O que vai acontecer? on: May 25, 2017, 03:51:59 AM
Nada.

279  Economy / Gambling / Re: Wagerr [WGR] the sports betting blockchain on: May 25, 2017, 03:30:05 AM
For those participating in our signature campaign , there will be additional credit for those posting in this channel. However the post will have to be on topic about gambling, betting and various sports.

What do you mean as "this channel"? This topic? The Gambling section? Some other external site or channel?
280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: XII FREE Tipster Competition - sponsored by DirectBet (Discussion Thread) on: May 25, 2017, 03:27:51 AM
Those who received some house credit, from participation prize or side competition or daily challenge, probably have some some directbet coins in the wallets, you can exchange them for Bitcoins and withdraw(1mBTC = 1000 directbet coins). Shouldn't take more than a few minutes and some people say Bitcoin will be worth 1M in 10 years, so every bit is worth.

Why not start the competition funded by the users, then seek a sponsor later? This competition may be expensive, so maybe a sponsor won't be willing to pay everything.  With completely news rules, of course.
