Quote

ΥΓ. Πραγματικα , εχεις αναρωτηθει ποτε γιατι το consensus λεγεται "proof of work" ?

Paper Double-spending with a Sybil Attack in the Bitcoin Decentralized Network https://www.sci-hub.se/10.1109/TII.2019.2921566

Δίκτυο χωρίς nodes = centralisation.

5  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Assuming that Government wake's up and crack down mining across the Globe. on: April 10, 2022, 09:16:13 AM
That means if the governments like I read above a scenario tha stop meaning forever or put out countries of big mining farms the difficult re-adjusting can take in a worse scenario months as not weeks. All those are scenarios, even if it happens developers can solve it, you should not worry.
Also make your thoughts the affect of such of scenarios can be, no newly coins mint, no transactions confirmations, a frozen blockchain. But donít worry.

If mining tops completely there will be no adjustment, none whatsoever without a single miner out there mining there won't be a new block and obviously, no way to adjust the difficulty, of course, that's impossible but in such a scenario that's what's going to happen, a frozen chain with no blocks no confirmation no way to move coins.

Let me add that Bitcoin in a worsted scenario can work without internet, thatís say donít worry.  Wink

In the worst-case scenario we could make bitcoin work by manually solving hashes and sending them between mining farms and by carrier pigeons, that doesn't mean it's feasible nor that it will be the same.
Sorry I canít find any doses of humour regarding the manual solving hashes and carrier pigeons.
As I said Bitcoin can works without internet(TCP). The chain will be frozen due to high difficulty this can be solved with a 1 line of code.

but no internet means no energy conversion.  The whole reason bitcoin has value is energy conversion into coins.

and now the heat the miners make can be used for good.

below is a 4ph server water cooled setup that could be used to heat 2 enclosed olympic sized swimming pools.

this is how you convert energy to wealth.

the op is correct if the world's governments ban mining they will fuc all pow coins up.

but it the world's government's launch enough nukes everything fucks up.

So basically the hope is saner and cooler heads prevail.

Solar energy is practical for 40 lat north down to 40 lat south. mining coins could be the incentive to build more solar.

And not what is the governments shut down all mining

How about what if the world's govrement's make all pow coins mined via solar arrays non taxable.

I am tired of thread after thread of what is we fuck ourselves.

How about what if we help our selves?

.
Nah, even if they decide something like this believe me, may the energy consumption will be a justification, the real reason will be that they wantís to stop something that they canít control.
No internet doesnít mean no energy conversion, miners still will be able to solve blocks just they will not broadcast it over TCP.

8  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Lottery Mining on: April 05, 2022, 10:26:29 AM
Is it even possible to lotto mine BTC on something like a newpac USB miner?  Just doing some rough math, it looks like it's more likely the Sun will explode before it finds a block.  So if not BTC, what other SHA-256 (that the newpac would be able to mine) would be worth lotto mining?
Yes nothing itís impossible, anyone can try if can *accidentally mint a block.
9  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Assuming that Government wake's up and crack down mining across the Globe. on: April 05, 2022, 10:20:11 AM
It will be nice if you further state more reason you think so about why the price isn't going to increase and go to zero, does it mean that Bitcoin cannot work without miners?.

I do NOT think the price is going to zero, my statement was:

Quote
but if they were to magically stop all miners from mining forever, then BTC will not increase in price, it will go to zero

The keyword here is "magically stop all miners" because it will be impossible to do so, 1 old PC sitting somewhere in the dark can maintain the network on its own,  the operation of mining does not need all the hashrate it has now, more hashrate does make bitcoin more secured but again even an old Nokia mobile can do the trick, so stoping all BTC mining operations isn't feasible, but if we were to 'hypothetically' assume it happened -- then nobody will be able to transact BTCbecause the transactions need to be put into blocks created by at least 1 miner, and thus, having bitcoin in your wallet will be no different than having 1 billion dollars in your wild dreams, none of these assets have any value in real life.

For this to make sense to you, you need to read about bitcoin mining and difficulty adjustment, once you fully understand that mining bitcoin can "at least" in theory be done with a pen and paper, you will understand that banning it completely is something beyond any government's ability.
Iíve agree, with your points.
10  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Assuming that Government wake's up and crack down mining across the Globe. on: April 05, 2022, 10:16:08 AM
Nah.  As I can think a lot of peopleís missing the basic things regarding difficulty, difficulty re-adjust every 2016 blocks and not in x weeks, the network params just want 2016 blocks every 2 weeks  if those blocks took more than 2 weeks difficult goes up if took less than 2 weeks difficulty goes down.
That means if the governments like I read above a scenario tha stop meaning forever or put out countries of big mining farms the difficult re-adjusting can take in a worse scenario months as not weeks. All those are scenarios, even if it happens developers can solve it, you should not worry.

VCoin/V Core sync nodes:

Mainnet:
No port or 5530 default port, sync to blockchain running on VCoin v0.9.3 client
Code:
addnode=144.76.118.44
addnode=144.76.118.44:5530
addnode=144.76.64.49
addnode=144.76.64.49:5530

Port 61300/61400, sync to same blockchain as above but running on V Core v0.19.1 client
Code:
addnode=144.76.118.44:61400
addnode=144.76.64.49:61300

Testnet:
No port or 55534 default port, sync to blockchain running solely on v0.19.1 client (i.e. testnet is currently has no v0.9 clients)
Code:
addnode=144.76.118.44
addnode=144.76.118.44:55534
addnode=144.76.64.49
addnode=144.76.64.49:55534

Alternatively, a chain dump from the V Core 0.19.1 client (I can't be sure a VCoin 0.9 client will read it) is available:

Mainnet: https://minkiz.co/noodlings/vcoremainnetchain.tar.gz
Testnet: https://minkiz.co/noodlings/vcoretestnetchain.tar.gz

Cheers

Graham

Thanks Graham.  I will update the topic.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to my bitcoin if I die today? on: November 21, 2020, 09:46:24 PM
If you do nothing at all, your funds will never move after you die. In reality, you're actually taking those unspent outputs out of circulation forever, so you'll be responsible for a tiny increase in bitcoin price... Less supply + equal demand should increase the price Smiley

In my case: I have one daughter. She knows where to find my hardware wallets, she knows the pincode and i've taught her the basics. After I die, she'll be able to spend everything I held my whole life. I tried to make things as simple as possible for her: no hidden messages, no extra encryption, no ssss, just a hardware wallet and the proper gui... Making her jump over hurdles will only decrease the odds she'll actually be able to spend my funds, and i'd rather have her rob me wile i'm still alive than increase the odds she won't be able to spend my holdings after i die.
Correct, Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more. Think of it as a donation to everyone. SN.

17  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Study Bitcoin core source code on: November 15, 2020, 01:08:06 PM
This questions has not a single answer and you should to explore diffrent opinions in order to find the ideal for you.
My opinion is to not read the source code files like a book you will not gain anything, Back in school, when student reads something he thinks that understand it..But, doing is where the real learning takes place, you can create an altcoin based on bitcoin 0.9v its easy you have to change only 2-3 lines of code, and start perfome changes to code then test test test!!

if do you agree with it being trased do you support censorship
The forum rules are clear about it:
1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.
I'd say "Please select an option that is true" is pretty low value.

Millions of low-value posts have been deleted. You call that censorship, I call it keeping the forum clean.

Correct the message body was Please select an option that is true and some strings more anyway, it was a poll.
Please refer me to forum poll rules because there is a diffrence between -> New Topic  |  Post new poll, so give me the poll rules link to read it ??

You are inviting spammers on that thread...

I don't think that you need a lengthy explanation on why your thread was trashed...
Yes I need a lengthy explanation, what did you mean Iím inviting spammers on my thread?? Look at the 28 posts did you notice any spam post ??
Previously, anyone could vote in polls. Now you must be at least a Jr. Member. This should make vote manipulation more difficult, though you should still not rely on forum polls for real accuracy.

When i ask you if you deleted you say No!
Now i think you have deleted, your quote is total pointless..
Votes are private, i search about it before i make the poll

censorship detect

I didn't delete it but I do agree with it being trashed.
