1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer the crypto online gambling or regular fiat casinos gambling? on: May 13, 2024, 09:04:00 PM
I prefer money, strongly. When you gamble with money, you are *risking* money for a chance to win money. It is always a losing proposition. But it’s not the same as *spending* the money. If I walk into a casino with a $50 bankroll, and I walk out of the casino an hour later with $40, then I’ve had a good night. Cause losing the the money will be okay for you but on the process that you won as will you'll enjoyed more than coins, you won't have to trade anything at the moment.

But gambling with coins will involves of spending more money on the play coins. Which have no value or gain at the moment (if they have value, they wouldn't be play coins, they do just be different kind of currency) So, you’re paying for the privilege of risking something of no value in the hopes of winning something of no value. That doesn’t even count as gambling anymore; that’s paying a fee for the privilege of keeping score on a random number generator. What's your own opinion towards this?
Aside from the issues of volatility in the cryptocurrency, I prefer crypto online gambling to fiat  casino gambling, because crypto online gambling is decentralised and you don't need to be seen in the casino shop every time you want to gamble.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: May 10, 2024, 09:19:31 PM
I have observed that the rich, I mean those who are financially comfortable, win more in gambling than the poor. By poor, I mean those who do not have enough to meet all their needs. I don't know the reason for this. Could it be that the rich understand financial management more? Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.

The rich have more staking power ( funds) than the poor, a rich man will use a huge amount of money to stake little odds while the poor will use a little amount to stake huge odds and he will be so bullish to win, the bigger the odds the fewer chances of winning.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: May 08, 2024, 10:09:20 PM
Greetings everyone and happy new year all!

Okay, today I was actually out for a little business and it happens that I almost spent all my time wasted without me even having a smooth deal, but along the line I have few games that I have placed a bet and was wanting to view my games from my phone since gambling is now mobile, what I meant by mobile is that you can access your account at any place provided that you have an internet connectivity you will login to monitor your matches.

So when I logged in, someone close to me easily peep from my left hand side and noticed that I just opened my account monitoring my games, at this point what he said is "ahh you don join dem"? Meaning you have also belong to the groups of people that gambles?

On a lighter note, I just smile and asked him if there is anything wrong while gambling or while monitoring my games and he said nothing but just that few people he knew that are gambling almost turned useless.

This now triggered me to come ask here whether you cares about what people says or sees you as when gambling, I know there are people who don't know you from time or who doesn't believe that you are a gambler and if it happens that you came across such people and their reaction towards you goes other way round would you care about it or you just totally ignore them?

Let's discuss amicably

There were a time when I used to care about what people thought of me, then when I was a student, especially if I visited the betting shop, once I came out, I would always look down when I saw people looking at me but after I graduated from Uni, I started playing on my mobile phones, I will open the site in the public places without caring about what they will say, because while I was in school none of them helped me so why should I cared so much about their opinions, the only thing I care about is not to be addicted.

you can make quality posts and then submit them to the merit application thread on your local board (there should be one). and again, your account is only 2 months old, there's no need to rush to get merit, just improve your posts first and increase discussions with other users, later you will also get merit. and never make posts with AI, this is a forum for humans to discuss, not a place for artificial intelligence to talk.

thank you for your reply, I will do better henceforth

Hello everyone, I have been here for a few weeks/months now but I'm yet to receive "merit" so I'm just worried, please can someone tell me what I will need to do or how long I will need to be here for before I get merit and other rewards?
To paraphrase, this is what you need to do to receive merits - make high quality posts and replies. If a user likes it and wants to say think you, encourage you, agrees with your point, and even disagree with your point, they can give you merits for it. If you want to move up the ranks you need merits.

For you now, your neutral tag says you write with the assistance of AI. You won't get any merits if you continue doing so as no user will want to encourage that behaviour which is against forum rules where you do not state that you got assistance from an AI software. Start from there and improve on your post quality and in a matter of time, you will be recognized for this and awarded some merits.

Look at this inforgraphics on merits to help you better understand -

8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you cashout or wait for the game to conclude? on: May 03, 2024, 08:34:35 PM
Whether to cash out or wait for the game to conclude depends on various factors, including your risk tolerance, the current state of the game, and your confidence in the outcome. If you're satisfied with your current winnings and want to secure them, cashing out can be a prudent decision to avoid potential losses if the game takes a turn for the worse. However, if you believe the game will end favourably and want to maximize your potential winnings, you might choose to wait for the game to conclude. Ultimately, it's a personal decision that should be based on careful consideration of the circumstances and your goals.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: May 03, 2024, 08:29:02 PM
Absolutely, gambling in front of children can send mixed messages about responsible behaviour and may lead to normalization or desensitization to gambling-related activities. Additionally, exposing children to gambling at a young age can increase the likelihood of developing gambling-related problems later in life. Parents and caregivers need to set a positive example by engaging in responsible behaviours and discussing the potential risks and consequences of gambling with their children in an age-appropriate manner. Creating a supportive and healthy environment is crucial for fostering positive attitudes and behaviours surrounding gambling and other potentially addictive activities.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: May 02, 2024, 09:28:10 PM
The perception that the rich win more at gambling than the poor can stem from several factors:

1. Higher Spending Capacity: Wealthier individuals may have more disposable income to spend on gambling, allowing them to place larger bets and potentially win larger payouts.

2. Access to Resources: Wealthier individuals may have access to resources such as financial advisors, gambling experts, or sophisticated strategies that can increase their chances of winning.

3. Affordability of Losses: Losing money in gambling can have a more significant financial impact on poorer individuals compared to wealthier ones. The wealthy may be able to absorb losses more easily without significant consequences.

4. Participation in High-Stakes Games: Richer individuals may have access to exclusive high-stakes gambling opportunities that offer better odds or larger payouts.

However, it's important to note that gambling outcomes are ultimately determined by chance, and winning is not solely dependent on wealth. Many factors, including luck, skill, and random chance, play a role in determining gambling outcomes. Additionally, gambling can be addictive and lead to financial losses regardless of a person's wealth status. Responsible gambling practices, such as setting limits on spending and seeking help if needed, are crucial for all individuals, regardless of their financial situation.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Buy a Bonus VS playing Slot on normal Spin - which do you prefer? on: May 02, 2024, 09:11:29 PM
whether buying a bonus or playing slots on normal spins is more profitable depends on individual preferences, risk tolerance, and luck. It's essential to consider factors such as budget, desired level of excitement, and the specific features of the slot game when making this decision. Additionally, practising responsible gambling and setting limits on spending can help ensure a positive and enjoyable gaming experience.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lot of gambling sites are scams ! on: April 30, 2024, 09:28:33 PM
It's true that there are many gambling sites out there, and unfortunately, not all of them are reputable or legitimate. Some may indeed be scams designed to take advantage of unsuspecting players. To avoid falling victim to scams, it's essential to do thorough research before engaging with any online gambling site. Look for reviews from reputable sources, check if the site is licensed and regulated by a relevant authority, and be wary of sites that offer unrealistic bonuses or promotions. Additionally, trust your instincts and if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Always prioritize safety and security when choosing where to gamble online.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lies told to cover up gambling habit on: April 29, 2024, 09:00:21 PM
People struggling with gambling addiction may resort to telling lies to conceal their habit. These lies can take various forms, such as:

1. Financial Lies: They may fabricate stories about the source of money or expenses to hide their gambling losses, such as claiming unexpected expenses or financial emergencies.

2. Denial of Gambling: Some individuals may deny or minimize the extent of their gambling behaviour, even when confronted with evidence or concerns from loved ones.

3. False Promises: They might make false promises to stop gambling or to repay debts, intending to buy time or alleviate pressure from others.

4. Deception about Time Spent: They may downplay the amount of time spent gambling or make excuses to cover up frequent absences or unexplained disappearances.

5. Rationalization: They may justify their gambling behaviour with rationalizations or excuses, such as claiming they can control their gambling or that they are pursuing legitimate strategies to win.

These lies often serve to protect the individual's ego, maintain their image, or avoid facing the reality of their addiction. However, they can strain relationships, erode trust, and perpetuate the cycle of addiction. It's crucial for individuals struggling with gambling addiction to seek help and support to address their behaviour and work towards recovery.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online/crypto casinos the most profitable digital business? on: April 29, 2024, 08:29:39 PM
Online and crypto casinos can indeed be lucrative businesses, as they have the potential to reach a global audience and operate with relatively low overhead costs compared to traditional brick-and-mortar casinos. Additionally, the rise of cryptocurrencies has introduced new opportunities for both operators and players, offering faster transactions, increased privacy, and potentially lower fees. However, profitability can vary depending on various factors such as regulatory compliance, competition, market demand, and effective marketing strategies. While online and crypto casinos can be profitable, they also face risks such as regulatory changes, security concerns, and fluctuating market conditions.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t play gambling with drugs or in half sleep on: April 26, 2024, 08:59:51 PM
Absolutely, playing gambling games while under the influence of drugs or in a half-asleep state can significantly impair judgment and decision-making abilities, increasing the risk of making poor choices and experiencing significant losses. It's essential to be fully alert and in a clear state of mind when engaging in gambling activities to make informed decisions and minimize potential negative consequences.

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: April 24, 2024, 10:10:12 PM
You should avoid gambling when it negatively impacts your financial stability, relationships, mental health, or overall well-being. Additionally, if you have a history of addiction or struggle to control your gambling urges, it's important to refrain from gambling altogether. Setting boundaries and recognizing when gambling becomes harmful is crucial for maintaining a healthy balance in life.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: April 24, 2024, 09:50:09 PM
Gambling can be considered a hobby for some people, as it involves participating in various games of chance or skill for entertainment purposes. Like other hobbies, gambling can provide enjoyment, excitement, and social interaction. However, it's important to approach gambling responsibly and in moderation, as it also carries the risk of addiction and financial loss. As with any hobby, individuals should assess their motivations, set limits, and prioritize their overall well-being.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causes loss on: April 23, 2024, 09:10:16 PM
Yes, gambling addiction can lead to significant losses, not just financially, but also in terms of relationships, mental health, and overall well-being. The compulsive urge to gamble can result in financial ruin, strained relationships with loved ones, feelings of guilt and shame, and even physical health problems due to stress and anxiety. Seeking help and support is essential for those struggling with gambling addiction to address these losses and regain control of their lives.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 22, 2024, 03:12:07 PM
To help beginners avoid gambling addiction, it's important to promote responsible gambling practices and provide education and support. Here are some strategies:

1. Education: Provide beginners with information about the risks of gambling addiction, including how it can impact finances, relationships, and mental health.

2. Set Limits: Encourage beginners to set limits on time and money spent on gambling activities. Setting a budget and sticking to it can help prevent excessive losses.

3. Monitor Behavior: Encourage beginners to regularly assess their gambling behaviour and look for signs of potential addiction, such as chasing losses or neglecting responsibilities.

4. Seek Support: Provide resources and support for beginners who may be struggling with gambling addiction, such as helplines, support groups, or counselling services.

5. Promote Alternative Activities: Encourage beginners to engage in alternative activities that provide enjoyment and fulfilment without the risks associated with gambling.

6. Normalize Responsible Gambling: Promote a culture of responsible gambling within the community or social circles to reduce the stigma associated with seeking help for gambling addiction.

By promoting responsible gambling practices and providing support for beginners, we can help reduce the risk of addiction and promote healthier attitudes towards gambling.
