1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do Miners still continue? on: April 24, 2024, 05:32:40 AM

Edit:
Does all miners receive equal rewards? or the reward differs base on who solves the algorithms first and a transaction is confirmed.

All miners cannot receive equal rewards based on the hash rate a miner or mining pool contribute to the overall network's hash rate. For example telling some group of kids to find a single apple and asking the one who found it to share with all. It doesn't work that way if a solo miner solves the block the rewards belongs to him alone as to a mining pool where it's shared within themselves.

But after  halving the reduced block rewards is shared based on the effort a minner or mining pool contribute

Currently Bitcoin is expected to have a bull run and halving in coming time as we all know it.
The bull run is approaching, and everyone is anticipating its arrival. However, some people, including those who are not prepared, are anticipating the bull run. Many individuals are anticipating a dip in Bitcoin to prepare for a potential bull run. Those who have already invested are hoping for a strong performance before the bull run begins.

Now if you were to make an investment of $100 as a beginner regardless of your country and as it stands Bitcoin is experiencing a bear market (an example) after you made 5% capital.
As a beginner, starting an investment with a smaller amount of money that he can afford to lose is the best option. So that even if you lose your initial investment, it won't feel as horrible. Additionally, you can also can get knowledge from bear market tactics..

Initially you want to hold for a very long time but as a result of the bear market you loose your capital and half your investment yet the market is showing no sign for you to recover.
What's your next step as a first timer in Bitcoin /Altcoin trading?
If that should be the case, bear market tactics appear to have some effect from the moment a bitcoin is bought until it is held for an extended length of time. The next step is to continue being patient until you have made back all of the investment and amassed a sizable profit. Since it is the main focus of the bear market. Whatever happens at the end of the day, you should be patient while investing and intend to hold it for a long time.

So far I think I've gain a lot from the response you all have provided and to my understanding you just have to study both bear and bull markets before making an investment.

Thank you all for this and if I do have any question I would call on y'all.❤️❤️

Lately I have succeeded in buying some Altcoins which I was still not satisfied since I come to know the forum which was built for bitcoin and I don't have any bitcoin. I was then moved to acquire some bitcoin but I was made to understand that I will cost me more than a million naira to buy 1btc.
All I need is proper guidance as to also benefit from this invention. I don't know if, it is still time to buy BTC?. What other things can one do to earn from btc.?
I am alone in this race what I need is the guidance. Watching tutorials and reading a whole lot about bitcoin alone is not enough and easy to understand for practice.
I know the road I have chosen is the road to success.

I know am not a Bitcoin owner yet but I don't think u need a million ₦ to get BTC u could start small using the DCA method I've come across it many times in this forum, jus do some research on DCA and study.

I'm New here Also but if u go through the forum I'm sure you would see a lot to help and guide you, much more all u need is God & patience and whatever you don't understand do ask questions.

There are two questions, one for Bitcoin and another one for Altcoin.

Your question is confusing too, trading and investing (holding) are different. If you are a trader, you must know you are not planning to hold and you must be disciplined to exit the market.

Holding is for investing, not for trading.

Bitcoin is a strongest cryptocurrency so after a bear market, it won't die and it will be a first cryptocurrency to recover from a market bottom.

Altcoins are not as strong as Bitcoin and they can die in a bear market. Even Bitcoin triggers a bull market, many altcoins can not recover to their past all time highs.

Risk with trading and investing in altcoins are bigger with trading and investing in Bitcoin.

My mistake my question rather was on INVESTMENT not TRADING sorry for the confusion.

What you should know is that 1btc= 1btc.
If you bought some units of bitcoin, and after your entry point, the price of bitcoin dips. It does not mean that the amount of bitcoin in your wallet has reduced, it is only the price that dropped. So if you are at loss based on what you think, don't worry but use it opportunity to buy more Bitcoin with discount and hodli, because the price must recover, and even pump higher than the amount that you bought it. This is why you don't need to use the money made for important needs to invest in bitcoin, but your spare cash, because when you hodli bitcoin for long, you will make profit. However, if you panic that the price has dump as you sell your bitcoin, you will run at lost. Don't buy bitcoin due to FOMO, and bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme.  This is because the price of bitcoin increases with time-line. I see every bear market as an opportunity for me to accumulate bitcoin. I am not a trader but a bitcoin hodler, if a need beginner bought bitcoin because he wants to go into trading, it is a wrong orientation because you must run at loss.

Thank you so much for this it gave me clarity on my thoughts in sense if I had 0.0005btc which worth $50 per say and after a bear it was $5 as long as it's in bitcoin I have nothing to worry about because it's temporary and will rise again. Just lovely

7  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Government demanding from Binance the lists of its Nigerian users on: March 25, 2024, 07:14:17 PM
Does it mean now that the governments are interested in our crypto world or do they just want to abuse power and take profit without labour?

How will this scrutiny affect crypto as a whole in Nigeria?
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spending extra to keep my assets out of trouble on: March 24, 2024, 12:38:46 PM
~snip~
It's called safety practice, yeah I spend gas fees three times, $7 for moving the old token to another wallet address roughly $10 for the swap, and another $7 to send back into the hardware wallet.
It's a $24 thats well spent because my hardware wallet consists of many assets that are way higher than $24 in total value.

And then someone complains that Bitcoin on-chain transactions are expensive Roll Eyes

I agree that it is good to remove any risk when it comes to hardware wallets, but it is obviously not the cheapest practice, especially if someone has more tokens with which they want to perform such "acrobatics". I honestly did not know that gas fees are more expensive than a liter of fuel at a gas station Shocked

I was shocked when you Said, you spent $24 for gas feel is quite expensive I must say, well that's very thoughtful of you. however you should thank your stars for moving those your old token to another wallet successfully, well I will say it depends on the kind of wallet you're using, reason is because some people find it difficult to move their old token to a new wallet that's those people who started using trust wallet since 2018 i think is only those old users that is facing this difficulties. I'm also making use of trust wallet right now as we speak I have most of my assets stored in my trust wallet, and I was able to move it to a different wallet although I'm still a new user.

What about someone who has binance wallet and trust wallet is there still need for hardware wallet?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to Research a Token/Coin on: March 24, 2024, 12:28:11 PM
Like if you want to know what percentage of a token is being held for a few VC's, developers, initial investors, etc.? Or how do you monitor inflows and outflows over a period of time?
[/quote]

As a beginner I would suggest you stick to a particular coin and monitor the market rates.

It's obvious that you want to invest but my advice to you don't get greedy and if there is a particular coin on your mind just ask question on it.
10  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Where would I have been by now? I'm DOWN. on: March 23, 2024, 06:51:40 PM

12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Develop to maintain your bitcoin holding anonymously to the core. on: March 20, 2024, 01:47:11 PM
In a case scenario where friends are gather they normally talk about different things which lead to arguing and bragging (crypto currency & Bitcoin) who has more asset they do this to lure you out and spill the bean how much is in your possession. People who are wise understand the scheme going on but most people just want to get along the flow eventually spilling the bean.
Now if something happens to that person's Bitcoin/Altcoin who is solely is responsible?
13  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Price fixing and control on: March 20, 2024, 12:31:49 PM
if u observe in market trades some of the women do come together to form a union regarding sales of goods but over time you find out that dey do attend the union meeting and do agree on a particular price but once they are out of that meeting dey disregard every agreement some of them comes up with excuses like I want to sell quick market and lower d price making it hard for others who has agreed to sell on a particular price while some will separate after the meeting and form there own meeting to increase the market price that why when u move from one store to another u hear different prices.

Truth of d matter the government can't really do much the only change that can happen needs to start from us.

So far my research on Bitcoin is not as I imagined, I thought a day or two would guarantee me enough to understand the major concept of Bitcoin as a whole but I've barely scratch the basic concept. What I don't understand is mining in Bitcoin, based on my own research and that of PX-Z in my first post it's clear to me that 80% of user in this forum are no miners just mostly investors.
I thought BTC mining was just as every other mining crypto until I did my research honestly it's not what I expected.

My question?
•Can a single miner with enough resources (be able to claim the block reward) compared to farm network?
•What are the chances of a single miner against a farm?
