1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How can I exchange BTC for USDT - Tether for a reasonalble fee price on: April 15, 2024, 04:10:54 PM
Trying to get $25 USDT through Edge wallet, and the fees are $60 just to exchange $25 - Total $85

Ive tried exchanging USDT Via diff tokens Tron, Polygon, Solana Ethereum, etc, All USDT version are roughly same network fees.

This cant be normal practice that I have to pay a fee almost 3x the amount?

Is there a less costly way to get USDT with my BTC?

I can see Edge is using exchanges

2  Bitcoin / Mining / asic remote Monitoring software recommendations for linux - minerstat is rubbish on: April 13, 2024, 02:20:00 AM
Minerstat constantly locking me out of my account, despite entering the access code and guard code correctly(Poorly designed overly paranoid account access controls)

What remote monitoring software do you recommend that works on linux
3  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: what tool/screen do you use to monitor actual power draw? on: April 06, 2024, 02:36:51 AM

Watt meter would be more reliable than software, but alot that I found are expensive, or the plug versions which are not rated for more than 13a...

Do you know any cheap inline options

How expensive that you found?
After a bit of research I found a cheaper meter that you can use in ASIC units here's the unit model kws-ac300 I think you will need to extra power cable for this to successfully connect it from psu to the miner unit.

I got the idea from ebay here https://www.ebay.com/itm/404541040081

The one you found is overpriced. Because they know its used in BTC.

$10 design
4  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: UART SERIAL INFO - BItmain ControlBoard fails to get IP, even after flashing. on: April 01, 2024, 07:22:29 PM

Also, how do you know it was bricked?

You said that the control board fails to get the IP or the unit is inaccessible so that's the reason why it makes me think that the control board might be bricked.

Any related software flashing if you flash it wrong it always ends up bricked like phones if you flash a corrupted firmware the phone might end up boot loop/bricked with no power.

There's something weird in your profile how did you get -68 merits?

i wasnt able to flash with braiins, antminer official, hive, but zeus mining helped me with a firmware package that was successful.
After zeus firmware, I was able to put any other firmware brand.

I dont think its bricked as the serial log shows info

I am determined to get this controlboard working. need to spend more time on it.

I will report back.
5  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer Control s17Pro not work not ip not flashing green and red led on on: April 01, 2024, 04:21:11 AM
oki thanks I'll try it

oki usb ttl i can connect it

What program do I have to take Windows 11??

You can use putty on windows.
Then modify the cmd to meet your situation

Code:
 /dev/ttyS0 115200

Post your SERIAL output data here.
6  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: UART SERIAL INFO - BItmain ControlBoard fails to get IP, even after flashing. on: April 01, 2024, 01:00:49 AM
It seems the control board can't get a proper IP. Would you mind to check the Ethernet terminals and try to clean them with isopropyl alcohol?
Since it was bricked the only way to reflash it is by flashing it through the serial port there's a guide on Zeusbtc that you can follow check this link below

Ive been successful in re-flashing the board.

Also, how do you know it was bricked?

But I can try to clean connectors with alcohol and report back

I find this post bizarre if you think Russia has such influence on the world...

Especially when there is another more obvious group of people... who are not to hard to notice if you follow the big money.... they are truly evil.
8  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antminer T21 - 3 Phase - Don't Get Caught Out! on: March 31, 2024, 02:21:27 AM
not impressed with bitmain tbh, shame there are not more brands to choose from.
There are: Canaan and the Whatsminers from MicroBt. For one thing both are generally far more reliable...

Indeed, Im already leaning more towards Whatsminers... not only do they appear more reliable, but the footprint is also smaller.

11  Bitcoin / Mining / PHY is not detected - GEM PHY init failed - No ethernet found. on: March 30, 2024, 09:24:48 PM
As I cannot find my s17+ control board via ethernet & IP, I connected via UART SERIAL

My SERIAL log show my S17+ keeps restarting/rebooting, This part sticks out the most in the log

PHY is not detected
GEM PHY init failed
No ethernet found.

Ive also reflashed multiple times, can never get an IP and the board keeps rebooting.

here is full log

13  Bitcoin / Mining support / UART SERIAL INFO - BItmain ControlBoard fails to get IP, even after flashing. on: March 30, 2024, 01:56:48 PM
I took a working s17+ control board and a non-working board. - I flashed both successfully with the same official bitmain firmware.

The working board gets an IP from my router, the non-working doesn't get an IP.

The RJ45 leds light up on both boards, and flicker, as expected.

What does this problem sound like?

The non-working board restarts every 10 seconds.

14  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Can pay BTC for help - Reflashing Antminer Control board with SD CARD on: March 30, 2024, 01:36:45 PM
Ok a Solution has been found, Problem wasdnt SD Card size, Or WIndows/Linux Formatting.

ZeusMining repair gave me a flash.zip, once I used this on my working and non working board, it flashed. (With 32GB and 8GB SD)

Now all Firmware files im using is flashing.

Bitmain official is useless, have to resort to third parties to assist.

I try avoid these Bitmain miners in future, due to lack of proper support.  Angry
15  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Can pay BTC for help - Reflashing Antminer Control board with SD CARD on: March 30, 2024, 12:55:28 PM

Got 8GB sd card

tried hive firmware & antminer firmware, both dont flash.

My green and red leds on the control board stay solid, they dont flash.

However I tried the same on a working s17+ hashboard, and the leds also do not flash, so what can be the problem?

I tried linux mkfs.vfat cmd, and using windows format  > FAT32, then unzipping the firmware direct into the sd card base directory.
Nothing is working. Very frustrating.

Also left control board with sd card inside powered for 10 minutes, still doesn't change.

What do you recommend now?
16  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Can pay BTC for help - Reflashing Antminer Control board with SD CARD on: March 30, 2024, 04:43:16 AM
Thanks phillip will try this and report back.

Its hard to find SD cards in retail shops(offline) less than 32GB, as they dont stock 8gb anymore.
Cant believe antminer didnt create code to allow for bigger SD... pretty pathetic.

I also tried hiveos on the 32gb card and also doesn't work.
17  Bitcoin / Mining support / Can pay BTC for help - Reflashing Antminer Control board with SD CARD on: March 30, 2024, 03:35:51 AM
I can pay BTC if you help fix my control board.

I have tried to flash using a 32gb sd card and downloading firmware from https://m.bitmain.com/support/download

S17+ from list, select firmware button, downloaded https://file12.bitmain.com/shop-product/firmware/322e2381-46b7-4311-9a6a-fb6951652302/2020/06/18/11/Antminer-S17%2B-user-OM-202006021031-sig_5968.tar.gz

Ensure my SD Card is formatted with fat32 on my linux machine with cmds

Code:
sudo mkfs.fat /dev/sdd
lsblk -f  //confirm fat32

Copy & Unzip Antminer-S17+-user-OM-202006021031-sig_5968.tar.gz into sdcard base directory.

Insert sd card into control board and power up.

When I do this, both the red and green status light remain green forever... I think they are supposed to go off?

Doesn't seem like the re-flash has worked successfully, and also Im still unable to find my Antminer  hostname/ip in router panel.

19  Bitcoin / Mining support / Whats wrong with my S17+ Control board? - Video Inside on: March 29, 2024, 04:43:47 AM
my s17+ powers on, and every 10 seconds sounds like it tries to make fans speed faster but cant, then this process repeat, also the leds go off and on again.

See Video https://streamable.com/ath5kv

What Ive tried.
Change control board into a different working S17+ PSU
Change Ribbon cables working in another S17+
Change PSU

The control board is the problem

I visually inspect control board but cant see any problems, also cleaned board with alcohol.

I have tried to reflash using a 32gb sd card and downloading firmware from https://m.bitmain.com/support/download

S17+ from list, select firmware button, downloaded https://file12.bitmain.com/shop-product/firmware/322e2381-46b7-4311-9a6a-fb6951652302/2020/06/18/11/Antminer-S17%2B-user-OM-202006021031-sig_5968.tar.gz

Make sure my SD Card is formatted with fat32 on my linux machine with cmds

Code:
sudo mkfs.fat /dev/sdd
lsblk -f  //confirm fat32

Copy Antminer-S17+-user-OM-202006021031-sig_5968.tar.gz file and unzip to sdcard base directory.
Insert sd card into conrol board and power up.

When I do this, both the red and green status light remain green forever... I think they are supposed to go off?

20  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: s17 BM1397AG asic chip resolder - What to use as stencil? on: March 29, 2024, 03:45:20 AM
Honestly, you don't need to use stencils. Soldering iron, flux, and a bit of soldering lead should be enough to reball an ASIC chip and BGA hot air when you are going to resolder the ASIC chip to the hashboard.
You only need a stencil if you are in rush but for a single 2 or 3 chips for me, I don't need a stencil.

Ok, I found a video you can use on how to reball it without stencil check this link below.

I was thinking this also BitMaxz, but the problem is estimating how much solder to use.
Going to check the video now.
