My computer is on 24/7 regardless, and while the mining will use abit of extra power.

It will not be anything substantial.  That's all I have to think about regarding it.

what happened is

You put a bid on it for $180
The current price is $100 so your bid increases it to $110

Another person comes along as sees it at $110 and bids, but because you already bid $180 they don't know and you will automatically become the highest bidder again after ebay does a 2nd bid to up the amount. This continues until it hits your $180 limit.

That's all, happens all the time and it's nothing to worry about.

They can try and ban it, but it wont work.

That said, they could try to kill the markets... and other things without directly affecting bitcoin itself.

It'll probably become a black market though because they pop up everywhere.

Using 5870 for my main mining and it hovers around 250-300 m/hash

Using a 4850 as a backup miner and it gets around 75 m/hash

Just using pooled mining because I don't know anything else.
going to get another 5870 next week, maybe a 3rd one too.
