1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency - many coin - wow - v1.2 Released on: December 25, 2013, 01:34:58 PM
I love it how Dogecoin seems to have a higher market cap than Feathercoin. The project owners must have made a fair bit i.e. 'Very many coins' - 'Very much profit' Smiley

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 24, 2013, 05:41:07 AM
Why didn't the creators call this Big Bang coin instead? All coins are created almost at once, enticing miners to mine this.

Then after 6 months, oops, party's over. Many coins have come and gone, let's see what happens with this one.
3  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I cant understand cex.io investors on: December 23, 2013, 11:00:01 PM
I only have about 31 GH/s now on cex, in addition to my other ASIC hardware. With other pools, you also have to pay the management fee, so ghash.io is sort of subsidising their pool with the proceeds of the cloud operation, isn't it?
4  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anybody knows anything about import charges when buying ASIC? on: December 22, 2013, 10:07:37 PM
You're mostly likely going to have to pay VAT and Import duty. For my BFL Miners into the UK I paid about 8% + 20% VAT. It's a fking rip-off I must say.

Let's say you buy a 60GH BFL miner @ $2200, you'll most likely have to pay another $600 in customs charges, which might make it even more expensive than renting from cex.io (and they deliver instantly).

Or, you could fly out to the US and try to smuggle your gear back into your country Smiley

5  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining with CEX.IO or why do I not believe skeptics on: December 22, 2013, 10:00:37 PM
Renting a suitable environment to put your rig has also been priced in, I hope... if I could, I would host a majority of my mining power in the cloud, but I've already have some physical miners that need maintenance.
6  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: $12366, first data point. on: December 22, 2013, 01:31:21 AM
If you had put the 12000 into bitcoin in October, you'd probably be much better off than putting it into mining hardware, no?
7  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BTC Mining is dead IMO on: December 22, 2013, 01:24:23 AM
My mining rigs are keeping my flat nice and warm. The heaters are electric anyway here, so I think I can discount the electricity costs.
8  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Cloud mining? on: December 22, 2013, 01:08:19 AM
we just have to be sure to keep ghash.io <50% of total hashrate...
9  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is there an alternative power adapter for BFL 50GH/s miner ? on: December 22, 2013, 12:56:23 AM
My 500W PSU doesn't power 2 Little SC's, so I have to use a crappy BFL PSU to do the job... what a waste.
10  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Good price at CEX.io on: November 23, 2013, 12:09:01 AM
Mining power should get cheaper over time as it should... in $ terms.
11  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Any suggestions for how I can heat my office - its starting to get a bit chilly on: November 19, 2013, 05:13:15 PM
Blockerupter blade x10. Guaranteed 800W power usage Smiley

I took out a PSU out of my scrypt mining rig to power 3 blades and I reallly miss the heat... now I have to pay for more heating!
12  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: CEX.IO-I You Show Me Yours and I will Show You Mine. on: November 19, 2013, 04:54:09 PM
Btw, the cex banner adds up all your ghash.io mining power. I have 3 Block erupter blades running and 2 more waiting to join after I get my new power supply.

14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Butterfly Labs Jalepeno - any good? on: November 18, 2013, 03:26:06 PM
We're still waiting for scrypt asics to come out in force...
If you like litecoin or feathercoin, just buy them on the exchanges...
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New ASRock Motherboards designed for mining on: November 18, 2013, 03:21:52 PM
We should take bets when the Monarch actually ships... in 7 months? Invent a time machine...
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Butterfly Labs Jalepeno - any good? on: November 18, 2013, 02:16:42 PM
I'm supposed to be getting a delivery of 3 jalapenos this week... oh well, better something than nothing.
17  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cex.io help please on: November 18, 2013, 10:23:45 AM
I think the let down of the site is that they don't accept fiat currency. Considering that they are supposed to be a UK limited company, they should probably take google wallet payments as well... the only problem being compliance.
18  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Are buying 3x USB Bitcoin Block Erupter ASIC Miner 330MH/s worth it? on: November 18, 2013, 10:19:58 AM
Why don't you just get a Blue fury for fun. 2.7GH without much effort.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who here actually bought something with btc in last 6 months? on: November 18, 2013, 10:18:11 AM
I bought my BFL upgrades with bitcoin... what a mess. With that poor level of service quality you might as well not buy from the US ever again.
20  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is it even worth it? on: November 18, 2013, 08:47:39 AM
It's called affiliate marketing. Why shouldn't the people be rewarded for their efforts to promote a company?

I bought some hashing power, because of a recommendation from someone on twitter. He didn't give me his link...
