1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lykke - Semi-decentralized Exchange on the Blockchain on: March 02, 2017, 05:09:22 AM

Yes, in an article on Coindesk Lykke is mentioned:

"Backing the association are the City of Zug – which has expressed openness to public services utilizing bitcoin in the past – as well as Thomson Reuters, UBS, Lucerne University and PwC. Others involved in the effort include Bacademy, Canton Zug and Consensus, as well as Luxoft, Lykke Corp, Iprotus GmbH, Inacta AG, and more."

In about 1 hour: Lykke co-founder Sergey Ivliev will talk about #lykkeforward and other company news

Live here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_POa3SfKqU

And please retweet: https://twitter.com/LykkeCity/status/833725750385709056

Any official news/information about how the Lykke Forward ICO went? How many coins were sold? From what I've checked only 10m were sold although I'm not sure if I'm right, here's the link:

https://blockchainexplorer.lykke.com/asset/APqPxxdPb1MnsbDvZTvPriaKxY9Bkx2CLw

No, it was significantly more. Those 1YLKK that were bought over the crowdsale-site are part of the 80% and not distributed on the individual addresses yet. That will happen during the next 2 weeks.

The numbers are not final yet, because money-transactions of the orders of the last days are still coming in. But can be expected soon.

When do devs plan to develop an application for the x86 architecture or web client for exchange?

The web-based-terminal already is in development and they are making progress, but time frames cannot be defined at the moment.
But be sure, I'll post it in big letters once there is a time-estimation. ;-)

Tempus, do you know when Lykke will list Chronobank Time tokens? I know they have a deal so it must be very soon. The project doesn't seem that interesting in my opinion but I still bought some at the ICO since I think with the recent BTC rally it was undervalued compared to what they intended to raise. Total coin supply is only 710,113...with some good news and progress I think it will be due for a nice pump eventually once BTC finally settles.

The question about the Chronobank-listing was asked on telegram some time (about 2 weeks) ago and Sergey replied:
"Listing is scheduled early March, after TIME token distribution end"

I find it very fascinating but also very very complex, including the market(s) and even social aspects. I did not invest because of that, but I'm very eager to see how it will turn out.

Yeah I think I asked this already or we discussed about Chronobank, I've seen that it's already listed on a couple of small exchanges so I guess we can expect it on Lykke by next week or so. Even if it's not a huge project (at least now) it's great to see Lykke starting to list digital assets. I'm a big fan of Ethereum and I can't wait for them to list them, I would definitely move a lot of my trading there since they have a lot of fiat pairs which it's becoming very interesting as some altcoins start to decouple from BTC price.

They are definitely working on it - last update 4 hours ago: https://github.com/LykkeCity/chronobank-integration

Regarding prices decoupling of Bitcoin: If the ETF should be approved it will become very interesting. Short-term Alts would most likely take a huge hit. But it would bring so much more money in the whole space, make Bitcoin and everything else much more interesting and give a lot of credibility and general attention, that especially a project like Lykke would most likely benefit a lot. But we'll see. Until now I have a lot of doubts that it will be approved.

Nice, it should be up and running in the next days I think.

Yes like we discussed, I think there's minimal chance of the ETF being approved but each day that passes by without any confirmation the price will be stable or continue to rise since if we get to March 11 without any notice it's approved by default. I'm sure we'll hear something by the end of the week, if not then the chance of getting approved will get bigger. Right now I feel it's already priced in, it's the perfect spot to take a risk in case a trader thinks ETF will get approved. I even feel it's a little overvalued, $1080-1100 would be a more cautious price.

I agree an ETF will bring much more money into crypto and Lykke being an exchange will definitely benefit from it (exchanges and gambling sites are the most profitable companies in this industry).

Chronobank: Yes, will be soon.

ETF: That's one of the most interesting situations on all markets. Everywhere people bet on different outcomes. Bitcoin is kind of a bet on approval. Dash and Ethereum are driven by those who expect a disapproval. And I personally find it interesting but I really don't like it - I hate betting and right now I have no clue what to do. I wish they would finally say "yes" or "no".

What's good: Disapproval would most likely bring some more Bitcoin into LKK and 1YLKK. Approval would be great for mid-term and long-term.

1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][rICO]Antshares Blockchain Mainnet is ONLINE! on: February 28, 2017, 04:15:55 PM
If you want to play the "should" game, then I should have never invested in this in the first place.  My gut told me to stay out, but this was shortly after the big ETH and LSK gains when I (and a lot of the market) had a case of irrational ico exuberance.

I don't regret my decision.  I already made back almost the entire loss I took by investing in a couple of new Ethereum projects (high chance of profit on these), margin-buying ETH, and buying ICN bottom.

ico investing is like being a venture capitalist.  They make a lot of bad investments, but then they cut their losses and ride the winners like ICN, KMD, ARK, and ETH.

The should-game doesn't make that much sense, because we are in a high risk market. If I look back I've made a lot of mistakes. But only a few were stupid in a way that I didn't know why I invested in something. And under the line I'm in profit since about 15 months or so, mainly because I was early in Factom. That said: When I bought into Factom it was a similar situation. ICO-Investors were in a loss-position and the volume was very low. But then it started like a rocket and never came back to such low prices.

So, I hope for similarities. But to be realistic: The Factom-guys are incredible hard workers. Just a few days per month (if any) without updates on Github etc. I wish we could say the same about ANS.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][rICO]Antshares Blockchain Mainnet is ONLINE! on: February 28, 2017, 03:46:16 PM
I'm with you, bro. But it seems you sold the bottom. You should have sold around 1CNY or waited for 0.90CNY. We'll see later on. You have to decide whether you're trading or investing. Trading Antshares sucks especially now, the liquidity dried up. Many other trains to catch. You should have sold when it pumped a bit.

But if you have an investing mindset, you look at the long term view and have fundamental bullet points to judge against. Antshares is posed to rally big soon, maybe when bitcoin consolidates.

You shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket. If ANS price doesn't improve,  I'll lol when ANS becomes a tiny percent of my portfolio.

55% chance we've bottomed out.

What I really hope for is that they will improve a lot on all fronts: Hiring more Developer, better communication and getting the basics done - working wallets etc. If so it's very likely that the price is at a bottom. But if this should turn out as a project that slowly dies, I would be really pissed. I'm tired of projects that do a good job when it's about marketing their ICO's and all looks good but when it comes to development and delivering everything lacks - even communication.

So what's the status in the QTum Slack? Anyone ask these questions to the devs?
I use slack app and can't open the Qtum slack channel, I think someone in Qtum team closed the channel, and I decided to lock my Qtum Indonesia thread and maybe other local thread must do the same with me and I will unlock the thread after see the future notice.

No, the slack still exists. Just not much talking on there.

Super, danke.

1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: February 27, 2017, 08:38:28 PM
Factom™ – Anchoring & Securing Data Using Bitcoin (and soon Ethereum) Blockchain

Factom™ is a distributed, decentralized protocol layer running on top of Bitcoin that allows data of any kind to be memorialized, anchored, time-stamped, and cryptographically secured using Bitcoin’s blockchain and tremendous network hashrate (now estimated to be 2.5 exa hashes per second!)

Due to its use of Merkle Trees, Factom makes the storage of data extremely efficient – gigabytes of data can be hashed down into 32 bits of data using Merkle Trees, and this Merkle Root anchored into one or more blockchains (bitcoin and ethereum currently).

Paul Snow, Chief Architect of Factom explains how developers can build applications using Factom’s API and/or data management and storage solution. These applications leverage the immutability of the blockchain and the scalability of the Factom™ network. Paul shares the story of Factom, how it started and where it is heading now. It’s an intriguing story and the interview is full of great knowledge.

1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lykke - SPECIAL LIMITED OFFER FEBRUARY 9 – FEBRUARY 28, 2017 on: February 27, 2017, 06:56:56 PM
This is a very interesting article about the SEC and it's decision-makers and of course it's with focus on the Winklevoss-ETF:

Meet the Two SEC Commissioners Tasked with the Historical Bitcoin ETF Decision
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/meet-the-two-sec-commissioners-tasked-with-the-historical-bitcoin-etf-decision/

But a lot of quotes of the SEC-members are not that much about Bitcoin but about Blockchain and how they see Fintech, in fact more about a business-model like Lykke.

Some examples:

He urged the SEC to take a leading role, stating “[t]he great potential of FinTech should not be hindered by our current regulatory structure,” before adding:

“[T]he Commission should take the lead regulatory role in the FinTech space. Many of the firms pursuing FinTech are already SEC registrants, and others are providing services that are squarely within the Commission’s oversight, such as investment advice and trading and settlement functionalities. And we are the only agency with a mission that explicitly includes facilitating capital formation. In that regard, our recent crowdfunding initiatives provide us the relevant experience and expertise for understanding the regulatory challenges.”

(...)

It could be used to overhaul areas like securities clearing and settlements, payment processing by banks, and cumbersome loan transactions. It has the power potentially to increase quality and facilitate trust.

(...)

“While I am not advocating for the adoption or effectiveness of blockchain technology, it appears to offer potential. One can imagine a world in which securities lending, repo, and margin financing are all traceable through blockchain’s transparent and open approach to tracking transactions. That could revolutionize regulators’ approach to monitoring systemic risk in these areas, including the oversight of collateral reuse, to name just one potential use.”

And to add a little bit Lykke-Context.

Sergey Ivliev just said on Telegram:

"We are applying for SEC Broker license early March. Estimated time is 3 months."

Richard Olsen about Lykke and Regulators:

"Regulators are deeply frustrated with their inability to reform the financial system, so regulators are open to innovation. It is key that innovators package their services and products within the regulatory framework – so this packaging is important. Companies, organizations that do this can actually profit from the support of regulators"

"Lykke addresses issues that regulators wanted to solve for decades – we are highlighting these features: new type of matching engine based on price, time and spread priority, which addresses the risk of flash crashes, intraday interest payments, which ensures intraday liquidity during periods of stress, ability of immediate settlement, which is a continuous clearing system for all types of asset classes and can address the issue of too big to fail. We highlight, why our exchange can solve problems of the existing financial system and then last but not least prepare our applications in a meticulous fashion – we have some excellent lawyers, who support us."

Very interesting read, not just because of Ver: http://coinjournal.net/ver-backed-qtum-started-bitbay-dai/

Very interesting reading the article. In either case I was not going to invest in this project

I actually planned to do deeper research before but believed I would invest from what I knew so far - until two days ago. But this seems to be a project that becomes less attractive and more concerning the more one knows, not only because the Dai-topic. Never a good sign.
1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: February 27, 2017, 06:04:21 PM
1) To say "very likely" is most likely correct. To say "absolutely clear" is not.
Okey, it's absolutely for me.

Quote
2) Do you know any project with more good news in the last 12 months than Factom?
Do you know any project that has the same amount of good news and doesn't have any response on the price? E.g. in the middle of the summer the price had been 0,0056 btc per coin, then m2 was realised and now the price is 0.0024 btc. Your statements are true if you invest dollars, but it is better to buy bitcoin (in my opinion). If you invest bitcoin it's very easy to lose some money, that's why should wait for the month.

The lack of effect on the price had many reasons:

1) Until summer Factom was more a secret tip. Not many really know much about Factom and it's usecase and it's economical design which is not just unique but near to perfect in my opinion.

2) Unlike other projects the team doesn't make marketing for the market. In short-term that may be a con but I consider it as a pro and attention is absolutely increasing.

3) Timing - Bitcoin is rising since over 1 year now. It's not easy for any project to make big moves against that. But Factom did.

4) The last two months: The M2-rollout was not very smooth, more the opposite. But the problems seem to be under control now and it's just a question of time that it's complete.

Besides that there are facts: The team is constantly working hard and improve everything and I don't know of any project that is so far ahead when it's about real business-use. It would be very unlikely if there wouldn't be more good news in future. And it would be very unlikely if that would have no impact on the price.

By the way, some days ago you said this:

It's time to buy factom.

You didn't know about the ETF when you made that post or what has changed? Let me guess: You was invested and now you are out. ;-)

I agree with everything besides point number 2. You say "attention is absolutely increasing". You base that on what?

If you look on reddit-stats or on the increase of Twitter Follower or how many are on slack now while this thread was nearly like a private meeting of a few people. It's much more now than some months ago.
