I agree with you view that Bitcoin is the first coin of the world. Most altcoins have to compare with it. There are too many people trust it and hold meanwhile the quantity of Bitcoin is limited. So, the price increases every day.

Why eth for sure? Ethereum is not an extra ordinary coin, it is just like other altcoins which are totally dependent on bitcoin for their market values and are also measured with reference to bitcoin. The thing is that you should include waves, neo and litecoin in this list because they are very much popular coins and promising as well with respect to bright future. In short, invest wisely in altcoins because they often dodge you.
Because all smart contract alts are the same thing to Ethereum as all alts to Bitcoin. Is the waves, neo and litecoin really promising or not that's about personal choice, but anyway that does not mean that Eth is same as them.

I think that despite ETH does not have the impressive growth likes others, it is still the second big coin in the market. You should remember that ERC20 is the platform for new tokens development. So, investing ETH in long term is a wise choice.

before investing in anycoin, I always ask myself some questions. what are the advantages of this coin? What the purpose of this coin when it was released? who are their devs team? What is the future of it? When I find enough the answers, I will buy it.
