Getting communication errors again. Anybody else?
422  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Humble Bundle for Android - Discounted on: February 03, 2012, 06:47:18 AM

The games work great on Mac, Windows, Linux, and Android.

Is it possible for you to send me the Linux game file along with the game key that I ordered.?
I think you might have to download it yourself - I'm not allowed to redeem the gift link.

But from my experience with Humble Bundles in the past, they provide a Linux download link for you when you go through that process!

Noticed that, but I asked the question before I received the link, and I thought that it would only give me the steam keys. Thanks anyway!

I'm getting pool communication errors again, but the website works perfectly this time.    Embarrassed

It was 7.4%, but the problems started occuring within the middle of the session, so the actual rate would have been much higher.

EDIT: Sorry, I should make it clear that this percentage is of rejected shares. The stales are... around 11~12%
426  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: January 31, 2012, 02:59:57 PM
I'm getting a higher than typical amount of rejects and frequent (almost one every minute) pool communication failures, though it is able to reconnect the second after. Plus, the website takes almost a minute to load and the connection to it just timed out as well. Maybe it's just my location (China).  Undecided

EDIT: Now that I examine it, it's actually closer to a communication failure every 10 seconds, and so many of my shares are being discarded by cgminer for being stale  Embarrassed
Strange... I can port scan it easily using nmap to see that I can actually connect to it (the latency is horrible at 460ms though) but cgminer can't even connect anymore.  Embarrassed Switching to a backup pool for tonight.

Have you tried the online 'market' www.taobao.com? As long as you pick a seller with a fairly high rating and good number sold in the previous month, there shouldn't be any scams. I recently bought a legit MW3 code off there for less than half of the Steam retail price. Plus, my friend got tons of stuff of it as well (TIMs, HDDs, Laptop Heatsinks, etc.)

Hey, the website is really lagging for me, anything wrong?
429  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: January 30, 2012, 03:17:26 PM
None of my shares are being bought right now, even at 0.000039.

What's going on?

I don't think anyone's buying shares. *shrug*

Sorry for everything. Didn't exactly think before jumping to answer the question.  Undecided

Ahh... thanks! I finally understand now  Grin

Edit: after reading your post again I think your disconnect is even more fundamental.  What do you think a hash is?  Do you realized what exactly is being hashed when you generate the hash?

Unfortunately, I do not know what exactly is being hashed. Is it in the wiki? (because I can't seem to find it.)

EDIT: Is it the block's header?
433  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why not reuse? on: January 30, 2012, 06:08:20 AM
I didn't mean that you would save the block, just the hash. *Forgive and correct me if I'm not making any sense >.<*

And what about for mining shares, instead?
434  Bitcoin / Mining / Why not reuse? on: January 30, 2012, 06:02:18 AM
Hi all!

It seems to me that this might be a rather stupid question, so if it is, please forgive my 'insolence' or incapability of answering this question myself.
Is it possible to 'reuse' a previously generated hash? An example would be a miner that would do as it would until it finds a solution for the particular work. It would then save that hash in its memory and attempt to reuse it as a solution for the next work. If it doesn't meet the requirements, the miner would then continue on hashing until it found another suitable hash, which would then be stored and used again, continuing the cycle.

The wiki articles don't really seem to touch upon this issue, since all they say is that as long as it is underneath the target, it would be fine.

EDIT: Okay, it seems like the wiki 'indirectly' answers this question. If it actually does not, then feel free to answer it. Otherwise, close this? I find the description of the nonce value somewhat confusing, however...

The price of each share seems to be impossibly high though. I mean, it hasn't changed in a few days. It seems to be constantly stuck at that one price regardless of what the other miners put as the price for each of their public shares.

I choose option B, as it looks a tad bit better than option A. Have to agree though, it does look like there's water flowing off the edge. Better get your designer (or yourself) to fix that!

What particular setting did you modify within the BIOS?
