Extremely unhappy with Spectrocoin debit card.  Email two factor authentication broken, as emails come hours later (or not at all), which is too late.  Sadly, you can transfer bitcoin in without two factor.  You can also exchange bitcoin for USD without two factor.  Two factor is needed to both load your debit card with USD and to change the two factor to SMS, which hopefully is faster.  Customer service not helpful as they suggested I email them to request two factor be disabled.  It has been 3 days and no change.  I even included the help ticket in the email so they would know it was me.

I want to switch to your debit card, so can you please provide a promo code.  I will happily share my experience.  As we start summer vacations, I intend to ONLY use my bitcoin debit card for traveling.  Thank you.

Been painfully trying to use spectrocoin.com debit card.

I got a promo code and was able to purchase a virtual debit card.  This part was pretty painless.

I had incorrectly thought that once I put some BTC in my account that I could use my debit card after a few confirms.  Not quite.

The procedure is:
1.  Transfer BTC into spectrocoin wallet
2.  Exchange BTC into USD in spectrocoin account
3.  Load Debit card from USB in spectrocoin account

Sadly, I am stuck on step 3.  1 and 2 don't require any verification.  I set the spectrocoin account up for email verification.  Now when I try to Load the Debit card, spectrocoin sends me a six digit key to my email.  The problem is that even with very fast email servers, I am not getting the email until 30-40 minutes after requesting it.  Sadly, the spectrocoin enter the code page times out way before that, so I am unable to Load my Debit card.  I can't even change the two factor authentication to my phone, which would hopefully be faster, since this also requires two factor authentication.  Thus, I am stuck.

I would prefer a debit card that keeps my BTC as BTC and only converts it to USD on Debit card use.

I would like to be sent a promo code.  Note that although my bitcointalk status is a Newbie, I have been on the forum for almost 2 years.

I intend to use your debit card and ween myself off of my current credit cards.  I like the anonymity and control the a bitcoin debit card provides.

As an IT support person, I am happy to provide feedback on the entire experience, especially as it evolves and you add new services.

Thank you.

Promotion code please

I intend to use your debit card for everyday purchases and ween myself off of traditional credit cards.

To get the $3M from insurance, it looks like it will take $500K to litigate.  Any ideas where this money is coming from if they can't even pay the current legal bills?  Is there enough money left to go after Cypherdoc?

So does it matter whether this proposal gets approved or not?

Yes you should vote for the plan, it matters.  If you go read the proposal you will see a listing of estimated recoveries they expect to get that total several million dollars on top of the cash they have on hand right now.  The company had a 3 million dollar insurance policy for example.  They are also in the process of suing Cypherdoc to recover 3000 BTC plus a few other things.

what is the recent update? I have not received any court file lately.

Basically, they are voting to liquidate and all assets won't cover lawyer fees.

Unsecured creditors (us) are shit out of luck.

Did you finally get contacted?  It looks like they delayed the proposal vote by 2 weeks because the initial mail out excluded a bunch of folks, like you.

hmm should I be concerned that my name doesnt appear on the latest list of money owed?

Is there anyway to contact them and ask them why my name does not appear

You could try contacting the creditor committee attorneys.  Their email addresses are listed at the beginning of many of the documents.

Looking through Docket 348 in https://cases.processgeneral.com/cases/document/case/5/hashfast-technologies-llc/
it shows $34,973 being paid in salaries for Feb 2015.  Who is still there and why are they getting paid so much?

Does this make any sense to anyone?
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: April 01, 2015, 03:03:15 PM
Are HashFast chips/boards/system worth anything any more?

Assuming 0.80 Watts/GH, at 550 GH you consume 440 Watts and generate a decreasing return of 0.006 BTC per day ($1.46)
Even in the chip, board, power supply, fan and cooler were free, is there any place in the world where the power needed to run these chips/boards (10.56 KWh/day) costs significantly less than $1.46 per day?

Thanks for explaining.

So, what is the difference to creditors between the liquidation trust they keep talking about (staying in chapter 11) vs. changing to chapter 7 and liquidating?  IOW, what value does this liquidation trust being advocated add to the creditors, when it sounds like all hard assets are gone?

If this were chapter 7 (liquidation), then would the $222K be split across all creditors including attorneys (attorneys don't get paid first)?

No, the administrative claims would remain and a new set of lawyers would take over appointed by the US government.  Regardless of what path is taken the judge can decide to only allow partial fees if he thinks the lawyers didn't get a great outcome for the creditors.
13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: March 25, 2015, 07:22:09 PM
Listening to latest court hearing audio (mp3 attachment in Docket 340), there is $93K in the estate now and $126K coming in imminently.  Since it is in chapter 11 (restructuring), this allows $219K to be split between the administrative claims (more than $1M is due to attorneys) and leaves absolutely nothing for creditors.  Did I understand this correctly?

If this were chapter 7 (liquidation), then would the $222K be split across all creditors including attorneys (attorneys don't get paid first)?
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: March 04, 2015, 04:09:51 AM
And from the latest filing Docket 335, our money is still being spent go who knows what.
$15K to salaries (why?)
$21K for shipping (to who? doesn't the customer usually pay this)
$40K in professional fees (for what?)
$4.6K to a King Security (for what, armed guards?)

Agree that Chapter 7 quick and easy would have been the best possible path.  Usually Chapter 11 is to restructure so that more money goes back to the creditors.  In this case, it is the opposite.  7 definitely would have gotten us something.  Looking like we will get nothing in 11.

HOLY CRAP... this is proof that cypher has "my" and other bitcoins!!!
Welcome to the party. He has mines as well, for what that matters. He is the one Barber mentioned as a "supplier" but didn't want to further identify.
Why do people keep calling him by his made up name?   You know his name, use it.   If you truly think he perpetrated fraud against you, why hide his identity?   He is a doctor and has a business and definitely would not want a judgement against him so I would expect he will turn the coins back over.   If he fights it even a little bit, it brings up other questions on whether he perpetrated fraud on any of you and deceived you into your purchases.

I am not sure he did anything wrong.... hashfast paid him to make HF and the BabyJets look good...  he did his job and got paid.
......I was surprised to find out publicly who has control to the keys of the 3k coins I was watching..
Problem is, even if HF clawed  back the coins..  we are still so fukin far down the list we will never get anything.....
Now it is time for law to get involved.. not civil,  criminal law should be involved in this.
The amount paid is so far above a plausible amount, it suggests impropriety.
Personally, I think the lawyers that HF hired should be liable.   We sued to force HF into Chapter 7, immediate liquidation with distribution to pay off the creditors.   They argued it should be Chapter 11 (on going concern) yet never did ANYTHING other than pursue selling of the assets of the company.   So, why did they fight the chapter 7.   In May, we had a chance of getting our money back and the lawyers' bills would have totaled 200k, not over a million.    When they argued in court to avoid the chapter 7, they said they were going to run the business.   What did they do other than pursue liquidation?

Painfully listening the audio of the last hearing (Docket 314) and other recent documents on https://cases.processgeneral.com/cases/document/case/5/hashfast-technologies-llc/120873/
* Some native american indian tribe is buying up everything remaining for $750K (quick statement by the girl attorney in last third)
* $1,070,000 in administration claims gets paid out first (Docket 316)
* These leaves zero dollars for all of us unsecured creditors
* So after many many months of bankruptcy proceedings, the creditors get absolutely nothing.

>> Surprisingly, people at HF (Eddie and Simon?) were paid $63,311 in salaries in December. (Docket 319)

what is the recent update?

What update? I thought HF sold all their assets for 400k$ to some Venezuelan businessman. End of story.

There have been a lot of recent legal docs posted on https://cases.processgeneral.com/cases/document/case/5/hashfast-technologies-llc/

Can someone with an understanding of the American judicial system and bankruptcy law summarize what is going on please?  It is hard to understand from reading through all of the docs.
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: November 24, 2014, 04:28:55 PM
I think there are two key factors to consider when comparing mining systems/chips.  1) system dollars per GH.  This is where big hot chips like Hashfast run into trouble.  The cost (expensive board, big power supply, water cooling) makes scaling a mine too expensive.  2) system power (at the wall) per GH is also a factor as we all pay for power.  The lowest I have heard HF do is about 0.90w/GH at a low hashrate 320 GH/s.  There are lots of small chip systems that beat the crap out of this system power per GH.  So small chips is the way to go for both cost and power.

+1 Thanks for the link.

Can someone with knowledge for the American legal system explain what in Docket 222.pdf, item e) in Exhibit 1 (Assets to be Sold) is?

It reads "Claims and causes of action against Simon Barber, including preference, fraudulent transfer, and breach of fiduciary duty claims."   Is this really an asset of Hashfast that has value for an auction?

can anyone post the date of the auction and and any details on bidding? It is time to put this lame horse down

https://cases.processgeneral.com/cases/document/case/5/hashfast-technologies-llc/

That information along with every other public document and audio from the case is available on the creditor's information website.

For the auction details look under documents and check out the document labeled Docket222.pdf  It looks like the date is Dec 4th 2014 @ 10:00 in a location in San Francisco TBD.  Procedures for bidding and the items up for auction are also listed.

Thanks!

They talked about how happy they were to be done with HF.  Eddie apparently lives at the office, along with his dog that is pooping a lot, even on someone's computer monitor.

Can anyone else verify this?
As far as I know it's not too wrong: Edward should have left (but maybe he is still being paid as "sales guy") and Monica should be still there, but that could have changed. Anything interesting they said?

I Googled for Monica, Cara, Tim, Hashfast and found a transcript of a 2014-07-08 meeting.
There is also a second one: http://hashfast.org/071514.2.pdf

Sat next to a group of loud people at Salt Room yesterday for lunch.  Evidently this was the HashFast crew.  Recognized her harshness Monica, miss Cara and Hong Kong Tim.  They seemed to be very happy to no longer be working for HF and said that the only people left are Eduardo and Simon.  Can anyone else verify this?
