I desoldered some avalon chips using an electric skillet fry pan by just putting the pcb in the pan and lift the chips off when the solder melted.

As for tracking goes, it might also not be trackable by DHL all the way to your doorstep.
For me it was transferred from DHL to the Swedish postal service once it got to Sweden and I had to call them to get the new tracking number.
