143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Building new rigs now? on: March 11, 2013, 02:56:11 AM
I was a little late to the game getting serious about mining over the past year and a halfish. I knew there was going to be a short period of time I could mine btc but I figured once that was no good any more id move to ltc. I'm not sure about purchasing rigs and all that but if you have stuff or can get it cheap why not?? Everyone said asics would make people sell their gpus and while it made sense if you wanted to get an asic I just decided to keep going on my gpus and then switch to ltc when the time came. But It looks like people are getting that idea now...so the difficulty is cutting in to my profits but if the rate keeps going up that's fine I guess.
144  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for people to store some of the forum's money on: March 06, 2013, 06:15:46 AM
I think they should get paid. They should be given a standard amount to reduce the risk of bailing. Maybe in a escrow or they get a small amount at a time.  They are providing a service right? They should get paid. It doesn't have to be big just something to keep there thoughts at bay.  Tongue

147  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Physical Bitcoins (Free silver for first 5 customers!) on: February 25, 2013, 05:13:47 AM
One more thought, if people would be interested I might be able to put the money up to get my own holograms made nice and pretty depending on my wife.  If you do think it would be acceptable leave a post here. Thanks!
148  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Physical Bitcoins (Free silver for first 5 customers!) on: February 25, 2013, 12:43:31 AM
Seems to me like an easy solution, at least in my case of keeping the coin for myself or giving only to trusted family/friends as gifts, would be for tymm0 to sell the unfunded coin + an unused sticker/hologram for .4btc, and let the people print their own key & fund it themselves since they have the 5btc anyway. It's less work & liability for the seller, but they'd still make the same profit.

I think I would be willing to do that if people would buy them that way. And if casascius was good with it. I guess it would be the same sort of thing as I was attempting.
149  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Physical Bitcoins (Free silver for first 5 customers!) on: February 24, 2013, 02:22:52 PM
I can work up a way to put the public ey on the coin.  As far as the private key, yes it would be visible as I an putting them together. I'm not sure if there would be a way for me to roll my own without being able to see them.  Same as when Casascius puts his together he can see them.  If someone can suggest something I can do different that would make it safer for my customers I'm all ears.  I would rather not be able to see them.

Picture of tamper proof sticker peeled off:

152  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Physical Bitcoins (Free silver for first 5 customers!) on: February 24, 2013, 03:49:12 AM
Do you have the ability to see the private keys as you are putting them under the sticker? Or is it like, sealed or something?

Is your sticker a traditional sticker, or is it tamper-proof? If so, any chance of a tampered pic? Thanks.

Keys are on a piece of paper like I said.  The sticker is tamper proof. I will post pics of a sticker that was peeled off in about 1 hour from now.
153  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Physical Bitcoins (Free silver for first 5 customers!) on: February 24, 2013, 01:44:50 AM
I don't see the public key visible.

Does that mean that we can't verify the funds are there without peeling the sticker?

You will be able to verify they are there. The address was provided to me on a piece of paper next to the private key I cut them apart and put the private under the sticker. The address will be included in the package with the associated coin.
154  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Physical Bitcoins (Free silver for first 5 customers!) on: February 23, 2013, 08:10:15 PM
these are not the original casascius holograms.

You ordered the "Rol your own Physical bitcoins" and funded them your self, didn`t you?

I did you are correct.  And i stated that at the bottom of my post. Smiley

I have purchased over $400 worth of computer parts recently through this forum.  I did just make my WoT account a few days ago though.  The people i have done business with are in my sig.  I would love to get some of these out in person.  It would be cool to meet some of you.

Disclaimer: These are coins minted by Casascius.  I filled them with 5BTC and put my own hologram on them.  Casascius created the bitcoin addresses and private keys and printed the paper inside.  I took them out of the package and put the coins together.

157  Economy / Collectibles / Re: CASASCIUS PHYSICAL BITCOIN - In Stock Now! (pic) on: February 20, 2013, 06:53:17 PM
Recieved my coins yesterday! Love the design. It helped my wife realize they were real.  They definitely make it easier to explain the basics of BTC.
I also purchased some 5 BTC blank coins without BTC attached. Hoping to roll my own from them.

160  Economy / Trading Discussion / trust on: February 19, 2013, 05:06:55 AM
Hey guys ve been thinking about this for a while. What is the best way to create complete trust between buyer and seller. Specifically seller

Is it post count?
Is it OTC rating?
Is it feedback in forums?
Escrow?
Collateral?
Posting identifying info?
I'd like to start a small busness soon and want to know hat the best way to do it would be.
I have purchased a few mining.parts so far and want to know how to provide my stock for sale.
Just hoping to do a lot of business and help the community grow as a whole.

Thanks,
Tymm0
