1  Economy / Gambling / Re: BTC Poker Room - NEW DEPOSIT PROCESS on: September 03, 2011, 11:11:51 PM
I looked back at my transactions more carefully and I'm sure I did deposit .10 bitcoins into BTC poker room on 8/14/2011 to 19fFRkZ7zxiSX8Z2goiogDDEs9n1ht87BGS. I did screw up on the 10 bitcoins and I'm sorry about that, but I am relived at the same time. How do I show I deposited? I took a screen shot of the transaction and see no way of attaching it or pasting it. Hopefully madsokrates will speak up again also.

I show NO DEPOSITS on 8/14/2011.

Here is a screen shot of my BTC Wallet. See there is nothing from 8/14/2011. Also, if you are crying about .10 BTC,, damn.

Outta curiosity, if you guys never took deposits and your software basically cost nothing to launch, why did you close instead of sticking with it?

We started our poker room without knowing that there was another site doing pretty much the same thing, btcontilt.com, with the same software, so we were a little behind the curve. Also, We actually had ONE deposit and that player withdrew their 2.00 BTC after 3 days of having no one to play with because our site had no traffic. We have been running the PM software on several other poker websites and the BTC thing was just another site we setup. We never got a script to integrate the BTC deposits and withdraws to integrate with the PM software, so all was manual. That wasn't going to be a good thing after some time. We did email specific BTC deposit addresses to all players a day before we pulled the plug, but we received NO DEPOSITS. Also, we had a generic BTC address that was used for deposits in conjunction with a PIN number, but players didn't trust that. A poker room is only as good as the trust players have for it. So, before any more complications, we dropped the site and no one lost ANYTHING!

I would be interested in knowing what address the player calling us scammers sent their deposit to. We only saw one deposit and it was for 2.00 BTC and that player withdrew it with no issues. There were also several players that withdrew their FREE winnings without problems.

I am in the process of redirecting our web address to btcontilt.com so people wanting to play BTC Poker, will be directed their instead.

Really, scammers? Don't think so. 10 BTC? What a joke!
3  Economy / Gambling / Re: What happened to BTCpokerroom? Ripped off? on: September 03, 2011, 05:36:48 PM
What is going on with BTCPOKERROOM? I deposited bitcoins, went to play Sunday and the site was down and has been down ever since. Why is no one complaining?

Seems like you were the only player there, apparently. Maybe that's why it died?

PM me your receiving address and I'll give you a free hosted round for 1 Bitcoin at Bitcoinduit.

Site is apparently offline now?

Participants are reporting that they've lost money: http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40731.0

No one lost anything, because there were ZERO deposits at BTC Poker Room!

Yet the fellow behind it was on the forums today. Perhaps it's another of Bruce Wagners shill accounts! lol..

What happened to the site and my bitcoins?
How many coins did you have deposited into his site?

I deposited 10 bitcoins. This is nothing compared to the $2700 I lost to Fulltilt and the Department of Justice. The only bet I should be making is the DOJ is already looking into shutting down bitcoins.

I'm mostly pissed that this guy is going to get away with ripping me off. What is to stop any of these online gambling sites from disappearing with their clients money?

UNTRUE! There were NO DEPOSITS AT BTC POKER ROOM PERIOD! That is why we shut down!  You lost nothing, because you deposited nothing. Nice try MORON!

I'm just saying!

9  Economy / Gambling / BTC Poker Room - NEW DEPOSIT PROCESS on: August 17, 2011, 02:14:41 PM
Hi!

Because of the feedback we have received concerning our deposit system involving a "pin number", we have decided to change to a new and easier system.

Starting later today, all players will be assigned a unique BTC address to send their deposits to. Current players will receive an email today or tomorrow with their unique BTC deposit address. New players can expect to receive their deposit address via email within a few hours of setting up their account. We are going to continue to process all deposits and withdraws manually for the near future. Why? Because with anything automated there is an increased risk for hacking and fraud. (MTgox in June and mybitcoin.com in July) We want to be sure that our player's BTC is safe and the best way to do that us to manually process all transactions.

We hope this will assure all of our current and future players that their BTC will not only be credited to them in the poker room, but be safe while on deposit with us!

10  Economy / Gambling / FREE BTC Withdraw Information on: August 16, 2011, 08:51:50 PM
Some notes to be aware of.

Before you try to withdraw your FREE BTC, please read the information at the following link.

http://btcpokerroom.com/freebtcinfo.htm

We have had many withdraw requests, and it seems that players aren't reading the rules. Also, 20 days of inactivity, with no play, will result in account deletion.

We have had to make these rules more clear as players who aren't even active, are trying to withdraw their BTC.

Also, duplicate players from the same IP or IP Region, will be deleted if fraudulent intentions are suspected.

Thanks!

Nice idea! Good luck . Are you selling shares?

Thank you

Not selling shares yet, the business model is based on advertising and traffic, so at this point the traffic building and promotion are the goals. That said, because this market is so new, ideas from anyone and everyone are welcome!

The PIN you enter when you create your account is added to all deposits and used to verify withdraws. see this page:

http://btcpokerroom.com/exchangeinfo.htm

Deposits and withdrawals really sucks.

- With the 4 digit pin stuff it means you can only have a maximum of 10000 users
- When depositing, if someone mistakes his pin, his money will go deposited to another user if the pin exists
- A malintentioned user could withdraw all user accounts to his respective accounts

BTW, where is the withdraw page ? I couldnt find it

Actually, unlimited users.  Grin Duplicate user names aren't allowed. Duplicate pins don't matter as the user names must me unique and must be entered when submitting an exchange deposit.

Deposits are matched via user name and pin. Unless there are two users with the same name (not possible) and pin (possible, but wouldn't match the name), so only the user with their matching pin can process a withdraw request.

The withdraw page is on the Exchange page with the BIG WITHDRAW BUTTON!

Any other issues?

Isn't there some sort of receiving address you should give? The bitcoin wallet is just the plain bitcoin address right?

17  Economy / Gambling / WE LOST OUR MINDS! NO RAKE OR FEES, EVER! on: August 14, 2011, 12:29:25 AM
We lost our minds! BTC Poker Room has permanently eliminated ALL RAKE and
TOURNAMENT FEES! FOREVER!

That's right! You can play BTC Poker and actually keep ALL your BTC with
out giving any up to rake or fees! This change isn't temporary, it's
permanent!

This is a NEW concept and in the future we may have banner advertising on our site to generate
revenue or we may implement a flat fee of .5 BTC per month per player, no
matter how much you play, to cover expenses, but for now, there is no rake
and no fees!

Why would you play anywhere else?

Go "ALL IN" at BTC POKER ROOM!

awesome. only suggestion is to not have red on green on the site.

i should not even begin to play. bitcoin is enough of an obsession already.

Hmmm, interesting suggestion. Red and green are very common casino colors and the contrast highlights important or exciting information. Does it not work well as you see it? Feedback like this is always welcome. What offset colors would you suggest?

BTC Poker Room

http://btcpokerroom.com

the green is cool, yellow is bright but ok. i don't have specific preferences on which colors, but i recommend no more than 3 font sizes across the site, and no more than 3 colors, and those colors specifically meaning something. like yellow = link, red = emphasis, gray = normal, or something like that.

best of luck on the site.

My wife says much of the same things about my websites. She actually has a degree in the field and does contract web design work for some pretty large companies, so I should probably listen to what she says, but I long ago declared that my little hobbies, like making simple, non-scripted websites, would be my own project and I would screw them up as I see fit! That said, you do have some very legitimate design critiques.  Grin
