Just a heads up that I will be doing a payment at the end of the month for btc collected during April/May.  Make sure the spreadsheet in the OP is still accurate with your information.

It doesn't look like the ownership of the payb.tc / kluge debt ever got changed to me https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=65989.msg844881#msg844881

payment address : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=65989.msg845563#msg845563

thanks imsaguy

My bad.  Updated.  Please double check to make sure it is accurate.  Smiley

I know all the owners of Bitcoinca personally, in fact I spoke to one of them not a few hours ago.
They have families, live in house, and are not going anywhere.

Are you empowered to speak for them?  How do you happen to know them all personally when its been the ultimate secret for 6 months?  Did the BitInstant trio buy Bitcoinica?
1204  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] IP KVM Single Unit - Spiderduo KVM Over IP [$190 Shipped to US] on: May 13, 2012, 04:12:15 PM
I bought this in February new from Amazon, turned it on once to play with it, then its been sitting in the box it came in on my shelf ever since.  Like-new condition, great for remote administrating an off site miner.

http://www.amazon.com/1PORT-Local-Remote-Securelinx-Spiderduo/dp/B002VK8MPC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336924997&sr=8-1

The price is $190 shipped.  (US only, payment in btc only).

I just want to confirm that its the duo, correct?

In November, an investor approached me to acquire Bitcoinica. Due to regulatory concerns, I agreed to the deal and signed the agreement. Bitcoinica was sold for a good price. However, since the investor is unable to arrange for a replacement team, I continued to become the sole operator until Team Intersango took over two weeks ago. The investor let me keep all profits until late January, the official handover time. After handover, he continued to offer generous salary and performance bonus every month. The investor demands his identity to be protected so I won't share more information on this.

and you say

Who is the owner isn't important. [...] I apologize for the lack of transparency. But it really has nothing to do with legitimacy.

and now a "hack" happens and the only one to publicly post anything substantial is the former owner who's announced this is his swan song.

Where's senbonzakura's "hmm" when you need it?

We have new (old) information on this, though:

This does not sound like Intersango hold most of the shares. I fully disagree with guruvanís sentiment, in my view at the very least genjix (Amir Taaki) and phantomcircuit (Patrick Strateman) are some of the most trustworthy people around here. I would distrust this ominous investor if I was you.

Especially since he demands privacy.

But my last buy (where I was a market maker), my fee was 0.5%. I'm confused.  Huh

When you submitted your order, did it execute right away or did you have to wait some time?  If it filled right away, its because it matched against someone else's order, meaning you weren't the market maker.  If it took some time, it meant someone else had to match your order, which means you were the market maker.  Market makers don't pay fees (or at least aren't supposed to).
1208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: May 13, 2012, 03:45:41 PM
@ Zhoutong/ Intersango could you guys clarify this issue so some of the idiotic mudslinging in here can get a rest.

Zhoutong already stated it doesn't matter who the current owners are and refused to answer who it is.

One important question I don't think has been addressed here yet:

What about verification documents that were emailed to Bitcoinica? Were those compromised?

He said they weren't. That they were stored encrypted at some other server. Now I'm not sure if that was on this thread or on the statement they had at blogspot which is no longer there and nobody knows if was real or fake.

EDIT: Just checked and it was not in this thread.

I remember reading that as well.  I thought it was in this thread.  Perhaps the post has been edited/deleted.

Imsaguy ordered 517.73 from me, $185.99 is the remaining balance.  Grin

I should have replied sooner.  Everything went smoothly.  Thanks also to Nanotube in #bitcoin-escrow for facilitating.

This is utter rubbish. I'm sorry but I'm not falling for your delusions. The owner is the company and the company is the owner. Period. It's just common sense. Only a monopoly on violence could possibly say otherwise being in bed with the owner and protecting his ass which is what corporations are.
It's about minimizing risks in order to be able to provide services and products to consumers like yourself.

Minimizing risk is what causes most problem the world knows today. If the risk factor wasn't so diminished and even removed there is no way the current financial crisis could have gotten as big and destructive as it did. Unfortunately most people are completely oblivious to human nature and how destructive moral hazard to a market is.

That's just it, the risk wasn't minimized, it was simply rebranded and passed to someone else.

Put something up on bitcoinica.com

Not everyone uses this message board and for those that don't, they're going to be wondering what is going on.

What's so terrible about a status page?  It took all of 30 seconds to change the dns to point to meatspin, it'd take only a few seconds more to write something up and have it be on your website.

Let me play it another way, How can anyone now be sure that you didnt setup the whole process to cashout profitably since you knew this wont last for you anymore ?

Since there is a certain lack of transparency and now apparently no liability on you side, this could just have been a massive cashout process for you and everyone else is holding a bag of shit ?

Of course the owner is important, if someone have a ton of money that may go the way of the DODO they would want to know who to hold accountable one way or another since its apparently not you anymore.

What I find most disturbing from your recent comments is the fact that you seem to think that it shouldnt matter who the owners are.

THIS.

Why should it matter? As I said, if the ownership is not clear, the assumed owner should be liable. And the ownership should be clear.

Why should it matter?  Much of this bitcoin economy is based on trust.  You should know that.

1216  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] 2,500 PPT.D Pirate Pass Through Bonds! on: May 12, 2012, 04:26:30 AM
Since the first buyback is coming up here on Friday, is the 0.5% fee paid by the seller on the buyback price of 1.28? This would make the effective face value of 1.2736 for each bond, if I understand correctly.

Fees are rebated to the market makers.  So if you have bidsasks up at 1.28, you shouldn't incur any fees.

1218  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] 2,500 PPT.D Pirate Pass Through Bonds! on: May 12, 2012, 04:23:02 AM
Here's a question to those busy bidding and buying - if you're only prepared to pay 1.10 at auction, why do people pay 1.15 immediately after the auction?  Wouldn't it be better to bid higher with greater certainty of having your order filled versus the regret of not having a high enough price.

I presume you bid at a level where you become indifferent between winning and losing - despite the problems with the auction today, it sounds like people were not indifferent between the two possible outcomes, and that was a deliberate strategy.

meh

1220  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] 2,500 PPT.D Pirate Pass Through Bonds! on: May 11, 2012, 06:15:53 PM
We are keeping an eye on this and are in communications with GLBSE.  We are all hoping that the security sweep will be done in time for the PPT.D sale in about 8 hours from now.

And if it's not?

We'll reschedule of course.
