1805  Economy / Goods / Re: ended on: January 19, 2012, 01:45:39 AM
how does changing the title of it have any effect on the amount of space it wastes?

then request ot have thread deleted? Then while we're at it, we'll just delete all the threads..

part of the reason you have a forums is so that there's a history.

We're under a tight DoS attack. Been analyzing it, but not sure what the cause is yet.

The cause is you dumbass,

Lets see how you handle this pool from now on.

Classy, as usual. Even had the nerve to steal Inaba's profile picture.

wow, that threw me off. I was thinking to myself, "What the hell crawled up Inaba's butt tonight?" =)

Seeing who it is, I am not surprised. Though, I can't really disagree with the sentiment. But the judges give it a 1 out of 10 for his approach.

cheers

P.S.  *offers Plastic.Elastic a hug*

On Topic;  Luke, is it the getworks that are slowing down the hash rate without tripping CGminer to fallback?  That parts seems a bit strange.

Use the load balancing feature in cgminer and it'll help with that.

PM ME

Don't change posts like this.  It just makes for wasted space in the forums.
1810  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Looking to buy 1-4 cards for a mining rig for my Girlfriend. on: January 19, 2012, 01:17:35 AM
I have much bigger plans with Bitcoin (see my sig) than "stealing" an 'okay' card, I simply won't trust a full-in payment first to anyone who doesn't have a very good reputation on this forum and you do not.
To put it bluntly, you are relatively new too, therefore it may be in your best interest to use an escrow service.

I went to offer this, however he had already blown away the trade with his immature passive-aggressive behaviour, so I would rather not deal with him. But until I have a few trades on this forum I will immediately suggest an escrow/trade with those who already have a good reputation.

Consider #bitcoin-escrow for your escrow needs.  We rely on the #bitcoin-otc WoT.  You'll find a much better success rate than if you hadn't used the wot.
1811  Economy / Lending / Re: OTC Credit Default Swaps on: January 19, 2012, 12:24:26 AM
I've considered it before, and it would be a good idea.  I don't know how to price them, so I haven't dabbled in it.

You'd need to consider several factors and come up with some sort of scale:

1) How long of a term?

2) How much is it for?

3) Who is it? What is their reputation like?

4) What are they using the loan for?

5) How reasonable is their method of repayment?

6) What is the overall btc market doing?
1812  Economy / Lending / Re: OTC Credit Default Swaps on: January 19, 2012, 12:19:54 AM
I like it.
1813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pirate friendly VPS provider? on: January 19, 2012, 12:17:13 AM
So I'm asking if anyone knows a VPS-provider that does allow torrents and so called "pirated" content. After all it is my decision what I put on my server, the provider just gives me a place for that.

You are very misguided on how things work.

week 0 = 100 btc
week 2 = 101 btc
week 4 = 102.01
week 6 = 104.0502
week 8 = 106.1312..
week 10=109.315...
week 12=112.594...
week 14=117.098...
week 16=122.953..

etc...

Is this correct?

It is my intention to actually pay out the dividends, rather than have them be reinvested, but if that becomes a large demand, I'll consider it.

Edit: A quick scan over your example does seem correct though if a person did reinvest.

On second thought, if you want to reinvest dividends, not a problem.

Having been repeatedly been screwed by shipping delays, services failing to deliver, an ever rising difficulty (and expected further jump once the the major manufacturers actually start shipping), and the market price for coins climbing at a seemingly astronomical rate as of late, I must start paying people in USD weighted coin.  I've been paying back coins as quickly as possible and yet the USD value of coins is climbing much faster than I can generate/work off and buy coins each month.  I've sold assets to help payback but I'm to the point where there's not much left to sell and that which is left, won't be very well valued when accounting for USD->BTC.

There are currently 7 creditors remaining.  I will take their balances as of today and value them at a Gox 24hr Avg of $150/coin and continue to pay towards their amount due each month.  I will pay people in the coin equivalent valued via the Gox 24hr avg each Sunday at 12:00p CST beginning next Sunday.  While some debtors have opted to attempt to disappear or value the coins based upon when they were deposited (for me, its been about a 15x-30x value increase from deposit to today), I'll continue to pay to make everyone whole as best as I am able.

1820  Economy / Speculation / Re: +200% profits on bitcoinica in 1 day on: January 17, 2012, 11:58:04 PM
So you are in large part to blame for the crash. 17k bitcoin leveraged 10:1 = 170k on the market = crash

Your a leech on the bitcoin economy and I hope you get liquidated.

Uh, he actually has $13k in "real money" in there, not 17k bitcoins. And wow, that's some strong language. Care to explain how it's leeching?

Look at the order its 17k BTC. Unless I am understanding it incorrectly bitcoinica only operates in BTC so that 17k is that. When you go to close your position the the profit or loss on the right is multiplied by your leverage. He is leeching because he is just doing this to make money (steal money from bitcoin users). I would disagree however if he took this money and reinvested as bitcoin but something tells me that this user is not that type of a person.

I have taught speculators a lesson to not trade with a big leverage, i've helped the real bitcoin economy to get rid of bloodsuckers.
If you don't understand it well, sorry dude. may be you are the one who took long side with a 1:10 leverage ? huh  : Cool

Actually I don't use bitcoinica because I dont believe in leverage.

You sure are one to talk about being leveraged since you yourself were at 10:1. I really hope you lose your 20K because that will teach you not to leverage yourself.

Witnessed.
