41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HTC Launches Blockchain Phone With Full Bitcoin Node on: October 23, 2019, 08:48:58 PM
This phone will be on the Android operating system. This is very dangerous for the security of the bitcoin network running on the phone. Doesn't sound safe
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens If China Bans Bitcoin Mining? on: October 23, 2019, 08:45:33 PM
If BTC mining in China is banned then collapse will occur. However, miners may well transfer their equipment to other countries and the mining industry will recover. However, how long will it take?
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi in Oxford English Dictionary on: October 15, 2019, 05:50:44 PM
First was bitcoin
Second was cryptocurreny

Now they listed "satoshi" and defined it as:
a satoshi is the smallest monetary unit in the Bitcoin cryptocurrency, and is named after Satoshi Nakamoto, the—probably pseudonymous—developer(s) of Bitcoin.

I'm not sure if there would be any impact on bitcoin's popularity but it's good that the word has been acknowledged although I think it's a bit late.

What word will be next?

Related news: https://cointelegraph.com/news/oxford-english-dictionary-adds-satoshi-bitcoins-smallest-unit

By the way, a question was posted here before How long until "satoshis'" make in into the (oxford) dictionary?, we know the answer now  Grin

It is unlikely that the appearance of the word in the dictionary will be able to popularize Bitcoin. Do you often look for new words in the dictionary to find yourself a new hobby? I think no. However, we can conclude that Bitcoin is gaining approval and respect.
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Worrying about the Bitcoin Price on: October 15, 2019, 05:47:01 PM
Unfortunately people can't stop emphasizing on about the price of btc because it's what gives the excitement, the technological aspect does not get much attention from many btc holders at this point, if only people can actually stop worry too much about price, go less about the predictions, and talk more about the possibilities, it will be nice.

Unfortunately, the enrichment from the growth of Bitcoins completely absorbs people and they forget the true value of the coin and its technology. I don’t know what will happen next, but I'm afraid that people may go crazy, making a cult of earnings at any cost from Bitcoin
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Loan to buy Bitcoin? on: October 15, 2019, 05:41:34 PM
I'm buying ~500$ in Bitcoin every month with part of my salary. I have a stable job and my company is doing good. I'm wondering if it worth to take 20.000$ to buy 2 BTC now and pay the 500$ as loan installment instead of buying sats every month. I believe in the potential of Bitcoin to reach 50k in a couple years, but it wouldn't be possible to buy near half of BTC at the 500$ rate, so this would be something like an "advance". Hypothetically (but still possible in some probability), if BTC collapses and never recover from 8k, I would still be paying this loan for about 3 years but wouldn't starve or something like that, it would just sux for a while, since I still have another source of income. I know it's not the place to ask I will do whatever I think it's best, but if you were in my position, would you do it?

Wait until winter and buy Bitcoin at super low prices. I believe that you can save $2-3k and buy Bitcoin is very profitable at the peak of the bear market
46  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Seven most imminent trends everyone should get ready for in 2020. on: October 01, 2019, 06:06:25 AM
Seven most imminent trends everyone should get ready for in 2020 by Bernard Marr. Blockchain technology too got its place secured among the list.

  • Artificial Intelligence as a Service
  • 5G Data Networks
  • Autonomous Driving
  • Personalized and Predictive Medicine
  • Computer Vision
  • Extended Reality
  • Blockchain Technology

What you all think of these with comparison to the blockchain technology. Each and everything mentioned were completely associated with the technology based development and someway each gets associated with the other by some means.

Source : The 7 Biggest Technology Trends In 2020 Everyone Must Get Ready For Now

Blockchain technology is necessary among the trends of 2020. Its implementation can be a key factor in overcoming corruption. In turn, I consider some points useless. Autonomous Driving is more designed to satisfy the vagaries of the wealthy than to anything that is extra needed.
47  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should move to BTC? on: October 01, 2019, 06:00:26 AM
Hi guys ! Thats a question i do to myself very often , and it always looks like the right answer. My main coin for now its XRP (like 3000) and a very few BTC (0.005).

I hold XRP from long time but i see BTC price raise a lot and XRP don't do much. They have a consolidated project but no matters what BTC price its still mandatory.

So the question is , should i sold like 2500XRP and buy BTC when this one have a price drop?

I know its something i had to decide myself , just looking for what you guys think.
Thanks!

The altcoin season has failed. I don’t believe in XRP without losing sight of a large number of successful Ripple deals. I think it's worth it to buy Bitcoin during a bear market in order to have a profit in the future even you will lose some money selling XRP.
48  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bull push to 600k ? on: October 01, 2019, 05:56:44 AM
What do you think of this analysis?
Everything until now (even the recent re-accumulation phase is just as planned). Can the push reach the new highs like 600k? The date says 25. May probably with libra effect included in the growth.

The bull rally lasted too long. I think now there will be a bear market and we should not hope for space growth right up to the beginning of next summer. Bitcoin needs to be held up and waiting for better times.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be good for bitcoin if it will be regulated by the Goverment's on: September 28, 2019, 03:45:46 PM
I see more and more fear of many countries about the crypto market and Bitcoin. Look how much the desire to regulate and control this sphere is growing. I am afraid that if governments will defeat by regulated it so hard the crypto community will be too hard to exist
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NASA to Launch Bitcoin to the Moon? on: September 28, 2019, 03:41:37 PM
It would be interesting to see what NASA will develop. I do not believe that the new crypto expert will do the future economy of Mars. Perhaps NASA plans to raise funds doing something like IEO. Waiting for an official report if NASA wants to talk about it
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [INQUIRY] Blockchain related major in Computer Engineering on: September 28, 2019, 02:02:46 PM
Good Day Folks! Smiley

I have been inactive for quite a few months due to the pressure and great deal of workload in academics. I am now a Freshman Student of Computer Engineering in our local University and I just got curious what major in Computer Engineering should I take wherein the development of blockhain technology is included.

I am just fascinated how blockchain works when it comes to financial industry. Blockchain technology is advancing at a very fast pace and most of the different sectors that makes up the society are utilizing the perks of the said technology.

The major subjects offered in Computer Engineering in our local University are as follows:

Machine Learning
Software Development
Technopreneurship
Embedded System
Network Administration
Signal Processing
Operating System
Information Systems
Telecommunications
Signal Processing
Control Systems and Instrumentation

Also, I am interested when it comes to financial area. I would like to combine my little knowledge when it comes to finance and my course! Cheesy

Most likely, the technology of artificial intelligence will be an advanced technology in the near future. So in my opinion a machine learning sounds the most interesting and promising
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BAKKT launching tomorrow but BTC price falls? on: September 25, 2019, 08:10:46 AM
Why isn’t the official launch of BAKkT driving btc prices up but instead it’s going the opposite way?

Are investors afraid of a massive dump coming up or what are the possible reasons there isn’t any traction for BTC price ?

Many expected Bitcoin price growth after the launch of Bakkt. Perhaps investors are exploring how Bitcoin futures work and are waiting for an attractive BTC price to buy a lot and than go Bakkt platform, who knows Huh Huh Huh
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At wits end, need help! on: September 25, 2019, 07:58:30 AM
I am new to forums so I really don't know which board this type of post needs to go in so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place. I have also only been involved with cryptocurrency for the last 10 months.

I have an account with Coinbase and until recently I have had no problems or issues with depositing or withdrawing USD to or from my bank account to or from my Coinbase USD wallet. But now I have been restricted for some reason and Coinbase will not tell me why so that I can fix the issue. Coinbase support will not help me so that's why I am turning to a forum to see if there is anything that I can do to buy bitcoin. I have also tried to do the same with other cryptocurrency companies but they also have restricted me from transferring money from my bank account to any wallet so, therefore, I cannot buy bitcoin. I also don't want to use P2P sites to buy bitcoin because I have had friends that have been robbed even from people with 100% ratings and high volume. I don't know where to go or what to do to buy bitcoin. Any suggestions anyone?

I am not surprised to see that Coinbase has limited your account for no reason and technical support is not responding. If you read the news, then find out Coinbase does this all the time.
However, perhaps the exchange has detected some dangerous activity on your account? Where did you spend the coins, was it legal? And where are you from? If you are US citizen it could be a reason to ban you
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin QR Security Warning on: September 18, 2019, 02:11:55 PM
There are already countless of cases involving QR codes. And if the data you are speaking of-- that "four out of five results returned when asking Google for a 'bitcoin qr generator' lead to scam websites"-- is true, it is further confirmed that using QR code is of very high risk. If the QR code does not come from a very reliable source such as your very own wallet, it is much better to avoid it. Using the actual address is not too much of a hassle as against using QR codes, for example. Better be safe than sorry!

I don’t know why people are too lazy to use the actual address and are looking for an easier way. I hope this tread helps beginners understand that the QR code is completely unsafe.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Identify Cryptocurrency Scams on: September 18, 2019, 02:08:56 PM
Many people who know little about crypto become victims of scammers. Extraneous sites, spam, newsletters, calls, and more wants to fool you. Trust trusted sources. It would be nice to create a list of trusted companies or projects in which you can safely invest, but it is incredibly difficult to implement
56  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you buy National Lottery tickets with Bitcoin in your country? on: September 14, 2019, 12:01:35 PM
I am just curious to know if you can buy lottery tickets for your own national lottery in your country. I am not referring to all these scam gambling sites with supposed "Provably Fair" lottery systems.

I bought some lottery tickets online and I was only presented with the old traditional payment options and I figured it is time for us to approach these Lottery operators, to ask for a Bitcoin payment option.  Wink

If enough people ask for this, they just might consider giving us that option to pay with bitcoins.  Grin  What payment options do you have for online lottery in your country?

We do not have the option to buy lottery tickets using crypto in Argentina. Perhaps it’s also worth applying for the addition of a payment method in BTC. This is a really good idea for the convenience of buying and promoting Bitcoin.
57  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Mystery Person Just moved $1B worth of Bitcoin on: September 14, 2019, 11:58:22 AM
In my opinion, whale alert has not noticed such large transactions for a long time. I think the whales are getting ready for the bull race, maybe Bakkt launch of the bitcoin futures is the reason for such transactions. What is your opinion?
58  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to safely store big amounts of BTC? on: September 14, 2019, 11:51:14 AM
Hello,

Suppose I would expand my BTC portfolio to 10 or 15 BTC.....how would you store such a big amount of coins?

Ofcourse I would use a hardware wallet, but if I store them all on 1 wallet and I lose the wallet, or the house gets on fire and it burns, then I have lost those coins forever? Or are there still ways to get to the coins somehow in that case?

Would you advise to store let's say 15 BTC on 3 different hardware wallets (5BTC each), or would you spread it out even more? Ofcourse I'm not gonna buy more than max. 3 hardware wallets but in that case maybe 15 different laptop wallets (Electrum, Jaxx, Exodus etc.) with 1BTC each on it is safer?

I'm looking for the safest way to store a big amount of BTC and to minimize the risks of losing a big amount.

Do you want to just securely store value in Bitcoin or make money on it? I would advise you to try different options using hardware wallets, wallets like Bitcoin core and also use some kind of top exchange. Try different options
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the US Government Trying To Control Crypto? on: September 11, 2019, 09:32:53 PM

Wait? Let me read it carefully?
I think the information on the article is about the new expansion of Binance to have customers from US.
It is good news for investors or traders from US, they will have a chance to join Binance legally.
So, I don't see the issue about "US government trying to control crypto" there.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even if the US government tries to control crypto, I am not sure it is possible like controlling USD.
I can't imagine how the US government claims to be the controller and make some regulations for crypto space.
Did the US government create crypto space? Even if they provide some proofs, I doubt the community around the world will agree.

The US government does this latently. To reduce the demand for crypto, such statements appear in the internet and social media
https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2019/08/22/us-government-knows-youre-buying-opioids-with-bitcoin-and-it-doesnt-like-it/
By creating negative reviews about Bitcoin, the government makes people think that cryptocurrency is a bad.
60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Promoting BTC via art on: September 11, 2019, 09:16:51 PM
There are large areas of activity where people quickly learn about something new. Cars, food, sports, art, all this helps to spread information about something new. That’s why I agree that this artist will help popularize Bitcoin in art and i am so excited with it.
