I really hope that doesn't happen. While i am not against using ChatGPT to help answer question, i think a straight copy and paste isn't the best way to utilize such a powerful tool.

There is a post earlier in the thread that pointed towards the lowering of overall IQ. I don't think that trend is going to reverse anytime soon, especially with the advent of ChatGPT and AI.

I mean, did you really understand what Segwit and Taproot is? based on the answer above?, if not, then how would you expect someone else too, right?...

And if you did understand it, i would have really, really, appreciated the response more, if you took the time and wrote what you thought it was/is, based on the ChatGPT response or research you had conducted.

Agreed on your points. However the AI genie is out of the bottle now, and its only going to become more prolific in time, and smarter  as the masses train it.(or dumber, as the case maybe)
So my attitude is may as well get used to it.
I just treat it like a search engine on steroids. I find that the response you elicit is only as good as the input. Garbage in, garbage out, if you will.
As long as it's quoted and not a response to some dumbass question, I don't have an issue with it. In moderation of course.

(ATTN  twatter newbs...  please don't read this an invitation to start chatgpt spamming the thread, thank you.)

Okay. I have a question. Is Taproot Upgrade is Smart Contract? How Taproot upgrade helped Bitcoin? I am puzzled after reading some articles. Maybe it is because I am not understanding how it works. One article said the Taproot upgrade enables verifying multiple signatures at once. Another article said it's a smart contract upgrade. How it's related to SegWit? Wasn't SegWit upgraded before the Taproot upgrade? SegWit departs the signatures data. The block already contains more data after the SegWit Upgrade. So, what Taproot did do?

Sounds kind of technical for these here parts, but hey?  maybe some guy might be willin to go down the 'splainin path with you, but not this here cat.  i am too busy with non-technical matters.. or at least I see that there are a variety of wallet option types and some support legacy only, or legacy segwit or segwit with bech 32 or taproot (I think in that order), and I fucking have hardly any clue regarding when to use which, even though it seems that I have been using bech 23 addresses a lot recently and it got me into a bit of quagmire once (just last week when I sent a legacy segwit to a bech 32 address and then it kind of got lost for a while - did not go through.. yet I was able to send it again (after about 4 days of my wondering where the transaction had gone.. it was a decently sized transaction.. just saying.. but whatever all is good in JJG landia in regards to not having had lost those BTC that I had tried to send from a legacy segwit to a segwit with bech 32 address.. whatever the fuck that means? #justsaying)...
Quote from: ChatGPT
Taproot is not a smart contract in the traditional sense, but it is an upgrade to Bitcoin's scripting language that can enable more advanced smart contract functionality. Taproot is a soft fork upgrade that was activated on the Bitcoin network in November 2021.

One of the main benefits of the Taproot upgrade is that it improves Bitcoin's privacy and security by allowing more complex transactions to be executed while appearing as a simple transaction on the blockchain. This is achieved through a technique called "Merkleized Abstract Syntax Trees" (MAST), which allows multiple possible spending conditions to be hidden within a single transaction, making it difficult for external parties to determine which conditions were actually used.

Taproot also enables the implementation of advanced multi-signature schemes, which can be used to enhance the security of Bitcoin transactions. With Taproot, multiple signatures can be aggregated into a single signature, reducing the amount of data needed to be stored on the blockchain. This reduces transaction fees and allows for more efficient use of Bitcoin's limited block space.

In terms of its relationship to SegWit, Segregated Witness (SegWit) was a previous soft fork upgrade that was activated on the Bitcoin network in August 2017. SegWit separated the transaction signature data from the transaction data, which allowed for more transactions to be included in each block. Taproot builds upon SegWit by further optimizing the way transactions are structured and by enabling more advanced smart contract functionality.

In summary, Taproot is an upgrade to Bitcoin's scripting language that enhances privacy, security, and scalability while enabling more advanced smart contract functionality. It builds upon the benefits of SegWit by further optimizing transaction structure and enabling more complex spending conditions to be hidden within a single transaction.

Obviously anything can still happen, but If he ends up facing multiple criminal trials (not to mention the massive civil case he's in NY for right now, or the defamation case against the woman he raped) and loses the election, he is fuccccckkkkeeeddddd.

You got that right my friend

You know how Trump wanted to build that wall?
Not sure if its the one one he wanted to build, but there is definitely a wall closing in on him...

Seems now Trump is under investigation for wire fraud.
The list goes on….

425  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Trump be indicted ? on: April 13, 2023, 06:40:46 PM
……..

You gotta pay more attention if you want to act like Trumps defense attorney.  The payments aren't up for debate.  There is no hearsay.  At least not if you go by the real world definition of hearsay.  In BADeckerville, things could be different, I don't know.

But in the real word: Trump admitted it.  His lawyer went to prison for it and has testified publicly under oath about it.  And we have 10 of these:

Yeah, this indictment is just the icebreaker.

The real fireworks are going to happen next month when the indictments for serious charges come to fruition, to wit Georgia election interference, instigating an insurrection and stealing classified docs with possible obstruction of justice. (apparently there is security camera footage of Trump rummaging around the docs, taking out his favorites for “keepsies.”)

The DA must have been drooling while watching the Hannity interview and Trump blurting out  "I had a right to take those documents!" Then Hannity is like "ok, lets move on"... lol

Every day it seems some new bombshell evidence drops. And now we have the latest comical interview with Tucker (the guy who stated he "hates him passionately") to ridicule.

The look on Tuckers face is priceless as Trump mindlessly rambles on (as he is prone to do) about "nuclear warming" nonsense. Not to mention his recounting about all the court people crying over his indictment and saying how sorry they were that he got indicted. What a lying piece of shit! No surprise though, that’s what he specializes in, lying.

….,
Your stupidity is so humiliating to even look at.

….,,,

How in the world dense are you? I'm not really asking for an answer to this question. I realize that you can't begin to analyze your stupidity….

Why did nobody indict Clinton?

SNIPPED

Cool

I don’t know bud. Why did nobody indict Clinton?
Make sure you start yet another asinine thread (you’re good at that)
entitled “Why Did Nobody indict Clinton?” when you reply because
this thread topic is Trump indictment, so GTFO with your off topic outdated whataboutism spam.

Too right.
Reminds me of the dude I chatted with at that retarded one meeting I attended…
I asked  “so how long have you been coming to meetings?”
He proudly replied “25 years and counting!”
I’m thinking….”Good Lord!
Whatever floats your boat, man….. “

fantastic example  Cheesy

I was court ordered to AA years ago and went up there and called them all a bunch of weak willed pussies and was told I was a disrupting influence and they signed off on my court mandated meetings.

*I was pissed right off the bat when I read the steps and one of them was to accept jesus as my lord and savior and told them there is no way I was going to do that.

You knew I was meriting that post didn’t you bro? Cheesy

..... I forgot to check the price of bitcoin during dinner.

I've got my price checking addiction habit down to once a day.
You need to go to a meeting bro. They start like this....

<xhomerx> (at meeting)... "Hello everyone, I'm Homer and I'm a bitcoin aholic"

 <Everyone else, in unison> ..... "HI HOMER!"

(If one has never been to a "meeting", this post will probably go "woooosh")

Dr. Lance Dodes wrote a book about that and did an interview with NPR:

https://www.npr.org/2014/03/23/291405829/with-sobering-science-doctor-debunks-12-step-recovery

"...There is a large body of evidence now looking at AA success rate, and the success rate of AA is between 5 and 10 percent. Most people don't seem to know that because it's not widely publicized. ... There are some studies that have claimed to show scientifically that AA is useful. These studies are riddled with scientific errors and they say no more than what we knew to begin with, which is that AA has probably the worst success rate in all of medicine...."

I went to one meeting (NA) many moons ago just to say I have. I was like “this is nonsense!”
I think I was the only one in there not nodding off. What a joke.
When I quit dope, the last place I wanted to be was with a gathering of chain smoking, junkie losers, reciting the same old tired sob stories. It’s enough to make one want to go use again.

NA = I quit all illegal drugs by myself I don't need meetings
GA = Still go after 32 years this one still scares me a bit so I do meetings ,but gambling meetings have a shit ton of energy to them.
Nic A = Went from 1996 to 2001         so no smoking I don't need meetings
AA = was forced to go in the USN long complex story reality is I needed GA I still drink on Occasion but drinking is not an issue.
OA = 1 meeting and basically fuck that shit they were real zombies. I weighed  256 in 1996 when I went .  I weigh 205 now.

SO of all of the above:

Nic A did help me to quit smoking .

And GA was very helpful still is.

Success rates under 10% from my observations in GA and Nic A. I did 2000+ GA meetings and a few hundred Nic A  meetings.

Whoa! It seems you may have a <fill in blank> anonymous meetings addiction.
Is there an anonymous community with meetings for that too? Wink

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, this is the holiday celebrating some dead dude coming back to life or some such ridiculous thing.
And giant bunnies lay colored eggs and I got a paid vacation day for it!  Go figure...
You can't make this shit up.  (oh wait, actually those ancient bible folks did make this shit up, lol)
Not complaining, mind you... my kid loved it back in the day.

Ever notice in political discussions, folks will use that worn out cliché term, "purely political" if they don't want to address the issue at hand?
Because you know... like it doesn't count, because it's "purely political", whatever dafuc that means...

Whataboutism at it's finest.
437  Other / Politics & Society / Trump is indicted on: April 06, 2023, 06:46:58 AM
.... this Trump arrest nonsense. .....

Why is it nonsense?
There is mountains of evidence showing he broke New York state law.
So the DA does his job and indicts (and this charge is the least of Trump's worries. Stay tuned for much more serious up coming charges in various other jurisdictions, you know like planning an insurrection)
Oh yeah, it's all just a "political circus" . Well what a surprise!  Of course its a political circus. How could it not be? He's a former potus. So fucking what?
That doesn't change the fact there is mountains of evidence showing he BROKE THE FUCKING LAW.
And no one is above the law, not even failed business con men ex presidents ......
...Well that's the theory in the USA anyway. Sometimes I wonder though.

Now stay tuned for my buddy BADecker's Trump boot licking delusional reply  in 3...2...

So my body played an awesome April Fools prank on me.

I just came back from the hospital after having a kidney stone. The pain was quite intense. I spent around 4 hours waiting in the emergency room enduring hell and the rest of the time in stationary care, hopped up on meds. Well, I say stationary care but it was mostly me getting laughs from the nurses from doing weird cardio in the halls on pain meds and a bottle of water in one hand and a IV-stand in the other because I would rather force the stone to come out by itself rather than get a tube inserted up my urethra. But it worked.

Back home quickly, pain free but a bit sore.

Life is good. Grin
Just the thought of pissing a jagged pebble thru my penis hole makes me shudder.
But also, just the thought of pain meds makes me….ummm…never mind. I’d best not have those thoughts…
All the best m8.
