421  Economy / Reputation / Re: I need help the adivce regards my loan service here on: August 22, 2023, 10:51:39 AM
Everything you need to know has already been explained by other members in one of your previous posts[1] But in short, no one is going to trust to send you collateral first when you're a newbie. Your terms don't make much sense.

It looks like the address belong to the Mtgox hack. It's difficult to say whether the owner is still accumulating tho, it could be just random individuals sending money there.

423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ledger Live generates different address for each transaction. How does it work? on: August 21, 2023, 12:39:22 PM
Your private keys are all generated from the seed phrase you have[1]. As to why your wallet is generating a different address each time you receive a transaction, then that's for privacy reasons. You can read this article for better understanding[2]

425  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to put members here on ignore lists? on: August 20, 2023, 05:54:18 AM
When a user posts, under their profile picture there's an ignore button you can use. And if you want to add or remove multiple users at once, you can do that from your profile by going to "Ignore user options" page.
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: TRX sent to inactivated address on: August 19, 2023, 07:27:08 PM
unfortunately the mining site tronset.pro doesn’t have a section to show outgoing transactions. I’m not sure why. I have reached out to their support, with no luck.

say i “activate” the new wallet, would it release the transaction in limbo or is it a loss?

No, if the funds are not there. There's no point in sending funds or activating anything.

But I'm starting to think that the problem here is the site you're using and not your wallet. Are you sure it's not a scam? I have googled it, and it has barely any online presence. How did you come across the site?
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: TRX sent to inactivated address on: August 19, 2023, 06:41:12 PM
address: TFvgkttfyCmmyS8HZzJCnMtkPK7VUMADdT / sent 434 TRX from mining site.

it is a newly created wallet within Exodus. my previous wallet in Exodus was compromised. I was instructed by Exodus to create a brand new one. The first time I’ve sent TRX profits to my old address before it becoming compromised, I didn’t have to add TRX to it.

not sure if relevant, but I successfully received BTC yesterday in my BTC address within the new wallet without having to add funds to it.

Okay and do you have the transaction ID? From the site that shows that funds were sent to this address? Because by looking at Tronscan (a Tron explorer) We can see that this address has never received nor sent anything[1]

As for you not needing to activate your bitcoin address, then that's normal. This "activation" is something related to the Tron network, and not the bitcoin network or the Exodus wallet.

428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: TRX sent to inactivated address on: August 19, 2023, 06:01:10 PM
I'm not that familiar with the Tron network so I could be mistaken here but from what I know, in order to activate an address, you need to send some amount of TRX to the address first but since you've already done that, could you share with us the address? or how much is the amount you've sent at least?
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Testnet faucet on: August 19, 2023, 05:27:03 PM
They require some coins in the address because there are too many attacks on these faucets. I used to use these ones, I don't know if they are still giving away to zero balance addresses.

https://goerlifaucet.com
https://sepoliafaucet.com

https://faucetlink.to/goerli
https://faucet.quicknode.com/drip

You can also use this one and mine your own coins.
https://goerli-faucet.pk910.de

Thanks. Alright so in case anyone is interested, here are the limitations for each one of them:

https://goerli-faucet.pk910.de -> This is what I went for. It takes some time (a few minutes) since you'll be "mining them" but doesn't require you to have ETH on mainnet.
https://goerlifaucet.com and https://faucet.quicknode.com/drip -> Both require you to hold 0.001 ETH.
https://sepoliafaucet.com (Just for sepolia testnet as you might have guessed) -> You don't need to have any funds on the mainnet, and you can get 0.5 ETH per day.

You probably won't need to use anything but the last service though. Georli is going to shutdown by the end of the year so if you don't need ETH for a specific service that only supports Goerli (like in my case) you should probably go with Sepolia instead.
430  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Open Electrum Android App in READ-ONLY mode? on: August 19, 2023, 08:17:13 AM
If you just want to see your transfers, then yes, you can use the watch-only mode. By going to create a new standard wallet -> Use a master key, and then paste or scan your Master public key QR code.

And to get your Master key from your current wallet, you go to the menu -> Wallet -> Information. You'll find it at the bottom.
431  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unable to restore wallet on: August 18, 2023, 03:55:47 PM
According to this article, and assuming you still have access to the email address you've used, TrustedCoin should be able to help you reset the 2FA if you reach out to them. Have you tried doing that?:

To recover access to your 2fa wallet you need one of the following:
-snip-
The wallet file, wallet file password (if any) and control over the email address you gave trusted coin when originally creating the wallet. You can contact trusted coin and ask them for help. They will reset your 2fa protection and send you the details on the email address you used when originally creating the wallet.
432  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: suspicious transaction from a cold wallet to cold wallet on: August 18, 2023, 03:30:39 PM
As mentioned above, this is most likely your change address. A malware wouldn't act that way probably. Not sure which wallet you're using but, you can read this article from Trezor [1] for a better understanding.

You should be able to see the transaction you've received in your transactions history though, whether it got confirmed or not.

433  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: any good app with bitcoin news? on: August 18, 2023, 01:38:44 PM
Installing app for such purpose is overboard already for such purpose IMO. There are some telegram channels/account for this like this one[1] made by OmegaStarScream, since almost anyone who wants privacy and currently here in crypto space uses telegram.
Otherwise, use websites that was mentioned above and just bookmarked them.

-snip-

Thanks for the mention. If anyone has looked into it and didn't see any messages, that's because the Bot was down for the last 24 hours or so. I had problems with the server hosting it but it's back online now.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SpaceX sold $373M worth Bitcoin, reason of current dump on: August 17, 2023, 10:04:37 PM
I'm not sure that's the main reason though. SpaceX news were published a couple hours ago, and the (flash) crash just happened, it looks like China's Evergrande filing for banckrupcy is what caused this?

Thank you, I'll add them.

As for Thorchain/ThorSwap, it looks like there has been a lot of interest[1] since they pushed their newest update (for anyone interested in reading more about it, see here[2]).

I can't seem to be able to get the rates for BTC though? I keep getting "No valid quote found". Any thoughts?

436  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Thousands of XRP transferred from a Ledger wallet purchased from a reseller!! on: August 17, 2023, 06:59:21 PM
Did she say the reseller's name is abull[dot]com (it's in the few first seconds of the second video)? I'm not sure I got the name correctly, but if it's an official reseller, I would imagine that Ledger could be held accountable?
437  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Does it make sense to have mobile wallet + desktop wallet from same brand? on: August 14, 2023, 03:42:47 PM
I would personally not do that, I think the fewer devices the better (to reduce the risks), but yes, you can create an Electrum wallet on your desktop, and then use Electrum's seed on Bluewallet for example.
438  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: coinbase limits buy/sell? on: August 14, 2023, 09:30:24 AM
As mentioned above, your limits will depend on KYC (and other factors): https://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbase/trading-and-funding/buying-selling-or-converting-crypto/limits-and-account-levels

This applies to all centralized exchanges though and not just Coinbase (maybe different amounts, but the limits are always there).
439  Economy / Exchanges / Re: unconfirmed bitcoin transaction on: August 13, 2023, 08:40:03 PM
Could you post the transaction ID? That might help. Were the funds sent to your non-custodial wallet after you bought from them? I can't imagine an exchange paying such low fees. Did you have an option that allows you to select the fees by any chance?
440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending Money From a Debit Card to a Bitcoin Address on: August 13, 2023, 08:07:53 PM
What do you mean by without creating a bitcoin wallet? If you mean an exchange, then no there's no way especially since you're dealing with fiat.

First, you need to create an account in an exchange (there are a few but it depends on where you're from) and then, you can use your card to buy bitcoin. If you're sending it to somebody else, then you don't need a wallet yourself, you can just use the other's person address directly.

But if you're buying the bitcoin for yourself, then it's not recommended to keep your funds at an exchange, you should get a wallet (Electrum for desktop, or Bluewallet for mobile) and withdraw your funds to that non-custodial wallet.
