New feature: Bulk messages!

Now you can send the same message to multiple recipients (currently up to 50) at once. This feature is available both directly from the website and via the pay-per-use API. The price is calculated based on the number of recipients (price per message * number of recipients). Maybe I will add a volume discount at a later stage...

Check it out at http://txt4coins.net/betatest

This is the last big feature i wanted to implement before closing the betatest and "officially" launching the site. As i will be off the grid for most part of the next week betatest will continue for around 3 weeks though.

I am also in active investigation with the issue of GamingG (message for AT&T US not arriving) - Will do some tests together with my SMS service provider to get this fixed.

I send 2 messages (45,46) , all get this failure

Status for Message 46:

delivery failed
Your message is fully paid and transferred but was cancelled by the mobile network operator.

Possible reasons: The recipients number was not correct or the mobile phone was turned off longer than 48 hours. If you think there are other reasons and want to have a refund please contact support@txt4coins.net including the message id (46).

I'll check with my provider about that. But from the message status it seems there is not much i can do - If the chinese provider decides not to deliver i can not influence it. That is really a pity  Angry

Grade die mail von tradehill bekommen:
Quote
SEPA account changes

We are currently in the process of changing SEPA accounts, as our current EUR partner has decided to refocus his business. We would like to thank our partner for the invaluable help he has given to TradeHill to establish our EUR/BTC market and wish him success in his next venture.
We expect this transition to our new SEPA account to take several weeks to complete. In the mean time, EUR deposit and withdrawal will be available via Paxum account or OK PAY account. Please do not send SEPA deposits to the former account, as it will be rejected by the account.
We will keep you updated on the blog with any updates about this status.

If you currently having a pending SEPA deposit and have not sent this, please do not submit this transfer. You can choose to fund your account using one of the methods mentioned above, or wait until we have made full migration to the other account!

Was jetzt?
444  Economy / Services / Re: txt4coins.net - public beta on: October 22, 2011, 07:19:58 AM
I have tried various US numbers and have not had success.  All of them say "delivery to SMSC", but I have not yet received the one I sent to myself as a test (though it is possible that the others I sent have been received).

Hmm Sad I'm not at home most of the day, but i will check this tonight and come back to you.
445  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: txtx4coins - Which API type do you prefer? on: October 21, 2011, 01:48:59 PM
pay-per use is the only sensible way to go in my eyes.

Would you consider a type of business rates for individuals who wanted pay for mobile services via text? (eg. bulk)

Yeah, this is also my personal opinion.
I am currently working on a bulk message implementation so you can send the same message to an arbitrary amount of recipients. In this scenario a volume discount should be possible. But i think this is not what you meant?
446  Bitcoin / Project Development / txtx4coins - Which API type do you prefer? on: October 21, 2011, 08:47:55 AM
I am working on http://txt4coins.net and asking myself what kind of API you would prefer.
Basically there are two options:

Pay-per-use:
  • no registration required
  • no pre-payment necessary
  • you only pay what you really need
  • requires more complex logic on your side as you always need 2 steps: Submit message, pay message
  • no risk on your side in case site is shut down as there is no pre-payment
  • no way to implement a volume discount

Prepaid:
  • Registration required
  • You need to charge your account before you can send a message
  • Simple logic on your side - Only one step necessary to send a message
  • possibility of volume discounts
  • risk on your side to get your prepaid coins back in case site is shut down

Currently implemented is the pay-per-use approach as I think it fits the bitcoin-model best. (Check out http://txt4coins.net/betatest/api/ for an API description). However it means a more complex workflow for anybody using it due to the 2-step approach, so for easy adoption the old-school prepaid method would be better?

So, are transactions supposed to work already?
Around 30 minutes ago i made a payment. It is also visible in the GUI with this txid: 3b2a300ba7a65f79573b404863f37e0ebc2298312498bfe3613eff61d9faef7b
But blockexplorer just keeps saying "no such transaction". Also the balance of my account is not reflecting the payment.

Okay, now transaction is through! But it took quite some time to show up...

I'll give you the refund tonight when I am back home from work - I don't have access to my wallet here (or maybe i give strongcoin a second try...)
451  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: txt4coins.net - Betatester gesucht on: October 19, 2011, 09:59:55 AM
it's the message it self
it's fine on the web,
but it's wrong (Huh??) on the phone (iPhone 3GS)

Okay, I'll investigate. I will give you a refund if you provide a payment address :-)
452  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: txt4coins.net - Betatester gesucht on: October 19, 2011, 09:27:32 AM
another problem, it doesn't support the language  "Simplified Chinese"

what i received is "?? txt4coins.net Huh???0.01BTC"

the right message should be "来自 txt4coins.net的信息,消费0.01BTC"
China Unicom

Hmm. You mean the sms message itself, right? Or is it a problem on the website?
453  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: txt4coins.net - Betatester gesucht on: October 19, 2011, 09:15:11 AM
tried again,+86,  it works, nice!

Great :-) I also got the official list of supported providers now. For China this is:
  • China Mobile
  • China Telecom
  • China Unicom
454  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: txt4coins.net - Betatester gesucht on: October 19, 2011, 08:08:06 AM
Does it support +86/China   ?

I try to get a full list of supported countries and add it to the website.
In the meantime please just give it a try. If it does not work contact me and you will get a refund Smiley
455  Economy / Services / Re: txt4coins.net - public beta on: October 18, 2011, 10:09:21 PM
Update:
txt4coins now offers an anonymous, registrationless pay-per-use API! With this API you can send txt messages via http API without registration and without any prepayment.

Check the docs: http://www.txt4coins.net/betatest/api/

As txt4coins.net is still in betatesting the price stays at incredible 0.01 BTC per message. Given the current exchange rates txting was never cheaper  Wink

Let me know what you think.
Do you like the pay-per-use approach for the API? Or would you prefer a prepaid scenario with registration/authentification?
456  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: txt4coins.net - Betatester gesucht on: October 18, 2011, 09:58:34 PM
Update:

Doku siehe hier: http://www.txt4coins.net/betatest/api/

457  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: bitcoind to react to when transaction is received on: October 12, 2011, 08:45:57 AM
Look for blkmond; it's a simple Python script that watches the Bitcoin network and can be customized to run an external program when a transaction is received.

Is it possible to trigger already with 0 confirmations? Or only with new blocks coming in, so at least 1 confirmation? (Or do i still have a totally wrong understanding of how this works  Grin)
458  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: txt4coins.net - Betatester gesucht on: October 08, 2011, 07:48:39 PM
Also ich bin ja nicht so der Checker was das angeht Cheesy
Was genau willst du denn machen?

Also den gleichen Text an "beliebig" viele Empfänger.
459  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: txt4coins.net - Betatester gesucht on: October 08, 2011, 07:35:53 AM

Is there any update on this type of notification? I also need this kind of notification, but don't like polling either ;-)
