How long does downloading the blockchain take on a not so good internet connection? I have spent maybe 5 hours a day downloading it for 2 days. I'm still at only about 30%. Is there a way to boost this up?
Sync could take up to 40 hours I believe. I neither support aeon nor do I hold it, but as Im a monero fanatic I can say that outrageously prolonged syncing time is one of those issues that keep me from having an operation wallet up and running on my computer. Ive never waited for coin wallets to sync up 100%, always shut them down halfway to the finish line. |

Hi, nice project. Can't handle to mine your coin via suprnv pool. I have 2 x 7950 and cgminer3.7.2 installed. Miner connection is ok, hashing looks like ok as well(1,1gh/s total for 2 cards), but 0 accepted or rejected shares - running 30 mins. Bat file is:
cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://grt.suprnova.cc:5947 -O xxx.worker:pass
surely you already got the answer but for all others interested in mining GRT: according to the original ANN it'a a SHA-256 PoW coin, so you'd better mine it with Bitcoin ASICs  Yeap get an avalong6 or similarly priced miner, it would deliver more shares to ur share-receiver, however the main problem with that miner is poor quality of the internal parts and low reliability compared to bio miners that connect to ur nervous system and employ neurons of ur brain for to generate hashing power. |

Any update from Dev please about progress here. For merged mining there were some problems with serialization. We are gonna try to bring up clean nodes with 0.13.2 instead of downloading from the existing nodes. There's a good chance that may be the solution! If it is, merged mining is done. Then I need to prepare for SegWit. Pick a date to singal, double check code, build the binaries & release the new Viacoin version. Let all pools, exchanges, users etc update. SegWit is good, but many people hate it because of low transaction fees, maybe it will only be an experiment, and won't be implemented into bitcoin network. Which is a sad thing. Viacoin is the future. Mind telling how lower transaction fee could be a drawback? The lower the fee the more transacting parties are on the network, and that certainly benefits the adoption and integrity of a shitcoin, there are other benefits of having segwit on such as much more hype and armpit-shaped pumps on poloniex. |
