That's fucking funny. Subtle advertisement by Microsoft? What else can be? or whoever wrote that blog is a bitcoiner and used him as in inside joke so we would mention his article here. In any case, it worked.
862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When is Second Life starting to use Bitcoin? on: August 13, 2015, 02:17:45 PM
Hi guys!

Recently I've thought about Second Life. Second Life was one of the first sites, if not the first to introduce the concept of virtual currency.

They have their own centralized currency, the Linden Dollar.

For now I know that it is not possible to buy Lindens with bitcoin through the 2nd life site, but people have been using Wirvox exchange to do just that:

https://community.secondlife.com/t5/Merchants/bitcoins-to-lindens/td-p/2550854

So my guess is, When is Second Life Linden) starting to use Bitcoin?

Is there any mention from Linden about this?

I don't really know. It's probably, as always, an ego fight. They want their own currency. At least you can exchange it for Second Life Linden Dollar tho, too bad the fees are insane.
863  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will die forever ? on: August 13, 2015, 02:16:13 PM
Those days of fearing a hard fork will kill BTC are long gone. At the beginning it was true, not the software and project is way too widespread. Too big too fail situation.
864  Economy / Speculation / Re: So when is the next Spike ? on: August 13, 2015, 02:14:48 PM
2 years and no spikes !

How much coins on exchanges ?

All indicators are aiming at the halving. The having is something expected by a lot of people, which means the hype is huge and anything can happen.
865  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stocks fall globally as Greek talks collapse on: August 13, 2015, 02:07:53 PM
The plan is clear. Troika is exploiting all those poor countries specially the south european ones, they will take their economies down through ridiculous austerity programs, and buy their debt at a ridiculous price with the consent of each local elites. This will be a world wide agenda of privatization of all services.

Um, what? How is the Troika buying debt? I seriously din't get what you are trying to say. Would you like to buy my debts? I guarantee you ridiculous profits. Roll Eyes

Privatising services? You mean selling state companies/land/isles to private market entities?

You can't compare personal debts to gov't debts. People buy gov't debts all the time. It's called bonds. No one will buy your personal debts because, frankly, we know you will never pay it back. Gov't debts are sold to raise money for public projects like bridges, highways, ports, etc which in turn generates revenue to pay the bond-holders. I had invested a few hundred $$$'s in US Treasury bills and they have become pretty valuable. If I had bought your personal debts, I will have lost my shirts. Do you see the difference?

Everyone knows Greece, neither basically any country will ever pay their debts. The debt is still increasing at faster rates than what can be paid for.
866  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: August 13, 2015, 02:06:46 PM
I would love working for a bitcoin related company and be paid regularly in bitcoin or any project related with bitcoin

There aren't any jobs being paid on Bitcoin beside niche stuff. I don't count signature campaign as a proper job or anything along the lines, so that isn't included.
867  Economy / Economics / Re: Ron Paul interviews amagimetals.com CEO on Bitcoin on: August 13, 2015, 02:05:23 PM
I went to the website and apparently one can still buy with "cryptocurrency"

Credit Card / PayPal

   1+   $129.09
Bank Wire / Check / Cryptocurrency

   1+   $125.34

For 1/10 oz of gold.
868  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Gain Interest From This New Bitcoin Wallet on: August 13, 2015, 02:02:46 PM
I googled the URL in hopes to find more information about this Chinese wallet with added interest, the developer is apparently called "Carlo Pietro Giovanni Guglielmo Tebaldo Ponzi"
869  Economy / Speculation / Re: Marijuana Dispenceries Starting to Accpet Bitcoin on: August 12, 2015, 10:51:23 PM
i now 1 coffeeshop in the netherlands accept btc
I think there's more than one. Since its legal in Netherlands, its very easy to find some bitcoin supporters taking advantage and selling legit weed over there.
870  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about this? on: August 12, 2015, 10:17:19 PM
Bubble chart comparison does look very similar, except the bubble's rise was a little too quick and the  capitulation not steep enough. Although the fit is not perfect I do believe we are in a kind os undervalued 'despair' phase/ returning to mean, corresponding to the idea in the OP

I don't think we are at a despair phase, we are at a "dumb idiots panic selling and whales manipulating while smart kids buy BTC monthly" phase.
871  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: August 12, 2015, 10:15:49 PM
Still HODLING & planning to for many years. Only an idiot would sell significant amounts of bitcoin at these prices. Do the sensible thing people, buy & HODL, keep accumulating to prepare for 'hopefully' much, much higher prices in the future. Have patience & it should pay off, these bad times will all be worth it one day. Stay strong & HODL.

Not everyone has the patience nor see its future.

I mean we all see it differently so its not fair to say its not sensible for them and its dependent on their financial situation if they need the cash.

I think most people sell just cause they dont want to deal with the volatility.
But we need people to be panic sellers, not everyone can be winners, so naturally the few that reach the top of the mountain holding the most bitcoin will be the selected elite of super hodlers.
872  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much do you think 1 Bitcoin will be worth in 2020? on: August 12, 2015, 10:14:38 PM
We should do some sort of fun bet, as if, if by 2020 Bitcoin is 5 figures, I will do a youtube video naked holding a vodka bottle dancing next to Bitcoinwisdom.com to any song of your choice, or something along the lines. (Not saying I would do that, is just an idea lol. If someone wants to do it it would go viral im pretty sure)
well if some one got wrong payment of 1000 BTC then prollly he would do it ...

If you think we need 1000 then that's depressing. I will probably never be able to stack triple figures so I need it to at least give me a million dollars at something realistic like 30 BTC. Anything else is bullshit.
873  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Faucets - how much do those sites make in ad revenue? on: August 12, 2015, 09:58:31 PM
I dont know exactly how much, but it can be more then $3k a month.

The website owner may or may not want to share these details for obvious reasons. But, you can add up on freebitco.ins lottery thing, and then add the count for referral sections as well of the last paid out addresses.

So the site owner is making minimum of more then 4 btc per month just for starters.

I've been looking on starting my own faucet for quite some time now, even researching on how to create one from scratch but I don't know whether this is worth my time or not. 4 btc per month for starters is quite a big sum, but the reality is if you don't have enough traffic, you won't just take the cut. I'll be even luck to generate even half of the amount if I started doing one right now.

Reality is you need a shit ton of traffic. I would like to know what amount of bitcoin faucets are doing something like 600 dollars monthly steadily. Without tons ot traffic is impossible and there are tons of faucets out there already, so tell me how the hell would one do this?
874  Economy / Economics / Re: Dow Jones inching closer to 16k. Anybody else going to sell? on: August 12, 2015, 09:54:45 PM
Not holding any. Already cashed all of my shit out and bought BTC. All in on BTC. BTC wins or wins, im tired of traditional stocks acting gay. Time for something fresh and exciting.
875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My vote for bigger blocks. on: August 12, 2015, 09:49:14 PM

876  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gigantic explosion at Bitcoin mining farm in Tianjin China on: August 12, 2015, 09:47:34 PM
Is this account hacked or bought? Bitcoinpro is a Hero Member. Can I sense foul play? I haven't seen many Hero Members making crappy threads like this, something seems a little off.

dont be ridiculous cuz

and dont be afraid to be weak

or to proud to be strong

dont care wat people say

follow your own dreams

What does that have to do with the fact your post is misleading? What exploded wasn't a Bitcoin mine, it was a chemical plant.
877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AUG 12 DIGEST, Bitcoin News on: August 12, 2015, 09:46:03 PM
For those who missed the news:
http://cointelegraph.com/news/115109/visa-to-start-blockchain-research-localbitcoins-bitquick-join-ny-exodus
There are some good news and bad news.

Interesting! Visa to Start Research on Blockchain Technology.

The founder of Visa joined the Xapo advisory board a while ago, it was expected that they would get involved. I just hope they stay with the Bitcoin blockchain and not some shitty knockoff.
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin CEO arrested and Blockchain hacked on: August 12, 2015, 09:42:59 PM
I think by creating troll threads like this some peopel are dumb enough to actually thing Mark Karpeles is the inventor of Bitcoin. I saw it on some "serious" newspaper already.
879  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitmarkets decentralized market intro video released on: August 11, 2015, 10:04:01 AM
How does this compare to other p2p services such as conffeine or openbazaar? I've been waiting for ages the day I can properly buy bitcoin through p2p without intermediaries, hopefully without getting scammed..
880  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Faucetbox on wordpress on: August 11, 2015, 10:02:05 AM
It seems there isn't anything open source like this so you may need to buy the code from someone or something. Here this guy tried to crowdfound a plugin but it seems it didn't get founded:
