941  Economy / Economics / Re: This is how 0.37 Bitcoins looks like in Venezuela on: August 11, 2015, 10:41:51 PM
Damn, are you kidding me? I didn't know inflation was this insane in venezuela. Just think about, anyone with an Hero account in venezuela can potentially make a better living off a signature campaign than working an average job over there. Kinda crazy. Let's hope the people there give the middle finger to the idiot in power and adopt BTC.
942  Economy / Speculation / Re: Down we go - sorry I was wrong on: August 11, 2015, 10:39:12 PM
My advice:

if you are short term trader, sell now. In two days there is big probability for $245-$250 per BTC.

This is not going to happen. Bad advice. The bottom is in lower 260's.

I feel like you are being too negative.
I do not see this go down any more.
Will see,  will see

... $270 Smiley

Barely.

Bitifinex already hit 272 and climbing. OP was right, we are going up. Im sorry for the guys that didn't hold. Get on the train now or cry later, heard it first on the speculation subforum, as always.
943  Economy / Speculation / Re: Maximum price bitcoin 2015 on: August 11, 2015, 10:29:33 PM
The posibilities of breaking this years ATH are high, the price is holding steady at a 250+ territory, right now we are on a pump again and we'll be 280 when we wake up. In fact coinjar already reached 280 and surpassed it. It's obvious 300+ territory awaits us rather sooner than later and probably before summer ends.
944  Economy / Speculation / Re: You all know it's going to crash? on: August 11, 2015, 10:24:37 PM
Annd we are back to 270. Moral of the story: Hold and wait for 10 years, stop mentally masturbating about the price manipulation, the technology is extremely valuable regardless price fluctuations. Hold long term and win is all that matters, if you act by constant price movements you will never be able to sleep at night.
945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If The Bankers Wanted To Destroy Bitcoin They Only Have To Do This One Thing... on: August 11, 2015, 10:22:22 PM
This would never work, it would be the ultimate betrayal. I think if the core devs sell themselves at that level ruining Bitcoin, they would be at danger by some mad cryproanarchists , don't wanna piss them off.
In any case, I think someone would start a fork to try to counteract that.
946  Other / Off-topic / Re: Saw this new Blockchain Forum!! on: August 11, 2015, 06:25:06 PM
This is a Bitcoin forum. Ultimately we don't care about anything that isn't Bitcoin in this section, there are other sections to advertise your webpages or altcoins. Let's not get lost here, if the thread is not about Bitcoin or really related to Bitcoin in a way, it doesn't belong in this subforum. Not trying to be a dick, it's just what it is.
947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 175 Quadrillion Zimbabwean Dollars Now Equals 0.02164502 BTC on: August 11, 2015, 06:22:28 PM
That is just beautifully insane. In the future all fiats will end up like this against Bitcoin, because honest money always win and dishonest money goes Zimbabwe. By then we'll all be filthy rich and laughing at the fiat bagholders.
948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I ran Bitcoin Core for >3 years, and I turned it off today on: August 11, 2015, 06:09:20 PM
I ran Bitcoin Core for >3 years, and I turned it off today

I am now running Bitcoin**Censored**

Bitcoin censored?? Did you mean Bitcoin XT?
Anyone can tell me what is the % of current nodes to see where we are at today in terms of adoption? I want to know who is winning this exciting battle.
949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New essay seriously questions Bitcoin's future success on: August 11, 2015, 06:05:38 PM
This is the usual FUD from a not well informed enough individual. If you have a clue on Bitcoin you will already know by now that we will scale up to as big as needed and take over the world. If you aren't on Bitcoin yet then I don't know what you are doing to be honest. Stop worrying about it and start stacking up Bitcoin before its too late.
950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Urgent need of Bitcoin need help... on: August 11, 2015, 04:45:32 PM
i have to say this post is explicitly zero value.
look, begging is not good.
you are probably a spammer here.  Cry
I am not begging anybody to give me 1 btc. I am just asking a way to earn it fast.

Well, I doubt you have the money to buy 1 BTC and since buying 1 BTC is the fastest way, the alternative and only alternative I can think of is by taking a loan. But it will probably be hard for you as a Newbie to find someone willing to give you 1 BTC. You can try on BTCJam by getting up to A+ accreditation before borrowing.
951  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China Read Emails of Top U.S. Officials... Since At Least April 2010 on: August 10, 2015, 10:02:10 PM
When US is spying european union country, china have accessed their email. Its a weird world you know. Nothing safe in this world anymore, even our data could be accessed by google.
Im under the impression the biggest leaders out there are complete computer illiterates and may use weak passwords, obvious recovery phrasses etc, so getting their actual emails is having half the job done. Look at the Palvin incident. Those guys are complete idiots when it comes to digital security.
952  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winklevii are stalling Gemini until halving draws closer. on: August 10, 2015, 09:57:14 PM
I've been waiting for this for literally ages ago, I still have my hopes up, they've been doing a good job in the speeches. In one speech tho, one of the Winklevii mentioned they used a brainwallet lol. I think it was this one:

953  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happens to the BitLicense if everyone leaves NYC? on: August 10, 2015, 09:29:25 PM
I've already moved all my funds from Poloniex because they were asking me for my name and surname to even trade in between cryptocurrencies, what a complete joke, i just entered a fake name and surname and got my ass out of there. They don't even want us to be private for crypto->crypto trading.
954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone know the Wilnklevi twins' opinions on block size debate/XT etc? on: August 10, 2015, 09:23:11 PM
I don't think that anyone really cares what two bag holders who are just in it to sell off care about, they don't care about the future of BTC for other than profits.

Even if they were here only for the profit they would obviously care because they've invested million on this for the long term, so there. They are knowledgeable on Bitcoin if you actually took the time to listen to their speech, they put time into researching it.
955  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Banned bitcoin on: August 10, 2015, 09:21:32 PM
All Bitcoin banning would do is driving the interest up as in people being curious about it and it would basically backfire on their initial intentions which were to scare people away from it, thats why Putin backpeddled and ended up accepting it after banning it.
956  Other / Off-topic / Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ? on: August 10, 2015, 06:22:04 PM
I like the fact that for the first time in history I can say that I own my own money. Never before this was possible. Yo always, always depended on a third party, either the banks or the vaults hoarding the gold. Now I can hoard it all myself.
957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Louis CK becomes first comedian to accept bitcoin payment on: August 10, 2015, 06:11:16 PM
Yep I saw this on reddit the other day. Huge news since Louis CK has literally millions of followers worldwide that will not be aware on Bitcoin everytime they visit the webpage. The good thing about celebrities accepting Bitcoin is it's a huge and free advertisement campaign for it in a positive manner.
958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't download bitcoin wallet from bitcoin.org...maybe the website is hacked.. on: August 10, 2015, 06:10:06 PM
Is this only happening with the linux version or with every single one? Please don't spread fear if you aren't 100% convinced you are doing the hash check correctly, this can lead to unnecessary panic.
959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NSA KNOWS on: August 10, 2015, 05:59:48 PM
...
I think the NSA is happy about bitcoin. When terror is using it more they will have an easier time.
...
Actually this is why they are interested in bitcoin, to the extent they are. Bitcoin makes it much, much, much harder to track money. In fact it can be used in a way that the NSA has no idea who is doing what. Traditional banking can be as easy to track as making a phone call.

What about fiat cash?
Harder to track. But consider that each dollar has a unique serial number on it, or that bills are regularly marked for use in police operations. Some countries, I think Denmark is one, record each bill each time it enters a bank. That goes a long way in determining the history of a bill.
True, but as long as the cash never enters a bank and goes from to hand, it's pretty anonymous. Of course, there's no way to know when the last time a bill entered an ATM tho.
960  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: (Almost sure)brainwallet.org stole 22BTC from me on: August 10, 2015, 05:24:25 PM
Probably it is way more secure and user friendly to use a service like Xapo than a brainwallet.

If you use a strong passphrase for your brainwallet, then it is definitely better than Xapo. Well, if you are taking about Brainwallet.org, then still, I am firm with my words! I have used it many times! It may not be secure enough to use Brainwallet.org online though.

Btw, Brainwallet.org and brainwallet are two different things. So please do specify correctly when you are talking!
Well, I think Xapo is very legit. If they lost your coins, they wouldn't be able to get away with it, it's not some anonymous dude, the CEO etc it's all registered, if they screw you up they owe you the Bitcoins. I don't know the terms of wha would happen exactly tho.
