If you are in the USA, you can send the unit to Colorado for repair.  or contact the seller and ask for refund or buyer protection option depends on what service you use.

you can reach the repair center in Denver, Colorado via support@bitmainwarranty.com

Just updated the Firmware. It's still doing the same thing what's picture in the screenshot in the above link. Think im pretty much screwed.

1 last option I can think of....

Please update the firmware from the main "System" tab then "Upgrade"

In the Upgrade Page, There is a section called, "Flash new firmware image"  Please UNCHECK, "Keep settings:"

Then upload this 2-fan model  (If 1 fan model, please use the 1-fan model firmware)

Hi Folks,

I have a set of S9s batch 14.  Decided to upgrade the firmware on one of the units and it now takes 20 mins to come up.  Any mining changes seems to take 20 mins to kickin. Doesn't seem to be the most stable thing in my miner.

Anyone know were to get the older S9 firmware??  Bitmaintech only lists the latest to download....

thanks!!!

hope so!!

Electricity can not be too cheap, but looks like we will deploy them then make announcement for pricing.
Hey, electricity can be cheap if people with different ideas, lets say electrical and computer engineers come togther and put their individual knowledge to make a whole, they can of course come up with a way that can make electricity very cheap. Renewable energy resources and solar and wind energy are gaining popularity along with bitcoin mining. Hopefully more inventions based on them may make bitcoin somewhat cost effective in near future.

Will have a few S7 and S5 for someone who wants to Solo Mine for fun as well

Running number for À la carte style, as each has different need, and to cater all, support expense alone will be way out the roof.  Crunching lowest option and anything else be added as optional pick.  so you may be able to pick, lowest cost= higher risk, highest cost = ants on silver platter

Interested. But do let us know prices, T & C, and the minor details.

still on board when you post prices i will get at least one.

Sounds like a solid approach to this.  We can pick what options work best for us, and hopefully that brings you more customers!
108  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My warranty adventure with my s-9. on: October 18, 2016, 03:30:29 AM
Multi Language issues, we are working to fix that bug.  Sorry for that confusion.  When you send item for repair or diagnostic, please please each shipment, please email support@bitmainwarranty.com and obtain A TICKET NUMBER and include in the box.  Other wise, techs may confused with your previous repair request if they receive new parts for repair.

Example, you send in S9 hash PCB previously, got it repaired or replaced.  short time later, you send another S9 PCB, it may get over looked as when they look up repair request que, it shows, it is repaired already.

you will receive auto response with ticket number when you email support@bitmainwarranty.com for paid repair, or included repair if you purchased local service plan for 90-365 days.

techs are trying to speed up the turn around time as much as they can.  Some hash PCB when it shows not so much hope in repair success, another tech is spending time the next 2-3 days, looking at it as second opinions for higher repair chance!

Thank you!!

110  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I have an issue with one of my antminer s9 B13 on: October 13, 2016, 01:34:34 AM
in that case, you may want to test 1 hash PCB at a time, to identity which PCB will hash and which one does not.  1 hash PCB connected to the control module at a time

Hope this can help you find which one is bad

If your control PCB has 4 data port, please try using 1 unused port to connect to hash PCB that does not have red LED flashing near the PCI-E power plug when the miner is hashing.

Other wise, if you can take a look at the hash PCB when the S9 is mining, you may notice one of the hash PCB does not have the little red LED on or flashing.  (That is the PCB in trouble here)

Hi,

in one of my Antminer s9 Appears only 2 hash board chips on Miner Status not 3 , this happens after 4 day of working .. despite of I have connected all power cables right in their places I have checked with different power supplies , I have also change data cables but it doesn't Appear.

Hi BitmainWarranty,

all of them having red LED flashing when the miner is hashing , even the PCB that facing the trouble and doesn't Appears on Miner Status Page

Can you email support@bitmainwarranty.com with your contact info?  one of the staffs from Schengen area will contact  you with the shipping method/option in your area.

It could be the control but probably the hash PCB gone bad.  what country are you located in?

S5 parts can be purchased from https://www.bitmainwarranty.com

if it was ebay purchase, may be easier to send it back and ask paypal for refund

it looks like one of my S5 has a problem...
Chain#.......ASIC#......Frequency...Temp...ASIC status
1................30...............350..........0......------ -------- -------- --------
2................30...............350.........40.....oooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo

I restarted it after a few month of rest...

I swapped PSU for a known good one.... not to avail....

SAme problem @freq 275...

I have just bought an S5 off of ebay, it hashes on both cards for about 5 minutes then they both drop off to 0, I have swapped the ribbon cabels to the cards, and swapped the cards around - I have two 1300 Watt EVGA power supplies and have tried both with the same end results - I can only think the controller / beagle board is knackered, probably in the postage - the boards show zero errors when they power on in the control panel. Could I be correct in my theory? And, if so, does anyone here have a spare controller / beagle?

I am in the UK - on that site I could not see and controller board links?
112  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I have an issue with one of my antminer s9 B13 on: October 13, 2016, 12:45:46 AM
Hi NotFuzzyWarm,

unfortunately, we do not have resource available to provide full report on what was bad and what was done to complete the repair and what may have caused it.  In order to keep the hash PCB repair cost reasonable while it is being diagnosed and repaired we are focusing on get it to work again and keeping the cost as low as possible.

if we ask techs to produce written report on analysis, repair/diagnostic fee will exceed the cost of the parts attempting to repair.  That will require us to have additional review layer that will cause additional man hours by multiple staffs.

We are looking a way to communicate to the cusotmers when some major problem was detected as the user errror, in attempt to reduce the unnecessary damages to the other units.  If you didn't not received any personal message about humidity or hardware modification or personally attempted to repair and ailed.

We are seeing significant amount of failed repair attempted performed by someone in Venezuela without initially being disclosed that someone have already worked on it and further damaged the item from misdiagnosed or mistreated item.  Those, customer will hear about why and sometimes how bad the damage was that was human made damage but if you have not received any communications from the techs, then you should be in a good shape

Repair in Denver will diagnose item from failed 3rd party repair attempt, however, often time, if someone have failed the repair... chances are PCB already sustained additional damages and either possible to fix at very high price or exceed the cost of buying hte replacement and you will be notified options.

@ BitmainWarranty: Is it possible to get a service report for the diagnosis/repair or exchange performed on the boards we send you for repair? I asked Ashi (?) about it but he is in the messaging end of your work, not the service tech that did the work.

As a tech person myself (industrial laser design/research/repair) I would really like to know what failed on the 2 s9 boards I had you repair/replace. Both boards are working perfectly now btw. Great work and a very reasonable price/turnaround time. Cheesy.

Noted on that!

I don't want Vpn.  If I recall Li porvided a website and it got hacked.

About. 1000 s-7s were shifted to someone else's pool.

For me I use four pools

Kano.is
Bravo-mining
Mmpool.org
Ckpool solo

If it takes off I will most likely buy two and just set and forget my pools.

The ability to sell/transfer is big for me.

Like I said I would use PayPal with six months no payment no interest and then transfer to a buyer in month five.

The free repair is big.
And a support desk in case I have to switch pools or gear goes down.

Thanks again

Noted!

For hosting, shipping fee is one thing we see no way to avoid.  original shipping to be deployed, and another shipping from the hosting place to customers.

Personally, I'd set a Primary and Secondary pool, and leave it be.

116  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Interest for Hosted S9 on: October 11, 2016, 08:01:51 PM
Another question be, how often do user want to change pool?

easier and more stable to operate as set the username and let it be vs constant pool change as needed.  Both can be done but does everyone want to pay for all in one package or cafeteria style?

Power and Internet  (i can hear someone will say do not want to pay the 2nd backup like)
Ability to transfer Ownership
Ability to shipout unit in less than 12 months (at additional fee)
Ability to Change Pool
Ability for VPN (this we can not offer free repair while in hosting as we do not have full control of the hardware)
Basic Customer Support or Fast Line Support Desk
Option for repair/replacement while in hosting (if something goes wrong with the unit) vs paid per repair
Status Reporting to email every xx hours
Nice Data Center Hosting vs Cheaper Warehouse Style Hosting

anything else to add?

I would also be interested in this if the 'Brand C' machine continues to be vaporware...  So would my wife, I'm sure, getting the jet engines out of the house.  Besides, anything that Phil gets involved in is usually vetted pretty damn well!

I'd be in for 1 at the start.

Ownership change is very easy to deal with!

Thank you for the point!

yes...  selecting the right price is a hard one, as anything below $60/kw, most of the meat on the bone is stripped but still looking into options!

Units be hosted in Iceland to keep the hardware last longer in clean filtered air environment vs warehouse unfiltered with a few months of hot summer to using space in Canada but GST (like VAT/Tax) to consider for below $57/kw pricing, vs Venezuela and other south american countries where electricity is low in exchange of highly unstable political situation with highly unstable electricity to Country or Georgia where all legal but shipping fee is not so cheap that kills.

WHAT FEATURE everyone wants to see the most?

Well Li's group in China had the ability to let you sell / transfer  say I have 2 s9's  and want to have only 1  I could ask in the posted thread  did anyone   want to buy me out.

I think  that was unlocked after a 90 day hosting.  I sold mine to other buyers via pm told Li and Then Li would do  transfer  been a while since I belonged with Li's group.

It is important to be able to allow buyer/hosted a way out of contract in a way that  you the hoster does not get screwed and me the hostee does not get screwed.

I think the 90 day lock in and then a transfer fee if you sell keeps you sound and the guy that you are hosting sound.

the new guy gets a 270 day contract vs a 360 day contract .

Like for me if I were to order 2, 3, 4 units use paypal pay a 4-5% fee to you for paypal use.  Paypal would allow me 6 months no interest no fees.

So I may hold the gear for 3-5 months and then look to transfer it rather then cancel. I would have a chance to get more coins without dealing with coinbase.

So I guess I am asking for a chance to transfer/sell  the gear to a new person after 90 days. For some kind of fee.

120  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S9 Warranty Seal? on: October 10, 2016, 07:24:07 PM
without going too much in details, for future reference, please BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL when you are removing screws from the unit or installing after market items for system's physical modification.

Loss of the warranty seal = Loss of the warranty seal

It is there to validate no intrusion was made to the internal components or modification that may affect the safely sound operation.  when the seal is gone, that validation is no longer there to assure no modification was done before the system failed. (more specific to dead asics)

Example:  (It is really close to the rear fan and sometimes it is extended on to the rear fan)
