Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What speed are your getting CPU mining TENEBRIX?

Pool open @ simplecoin.us
Doesn't seem functional just yet. Can we use GUIMiner for this? IF so, do we use ufasoft (CPU miner)? Mine doesn't seem to be working yet. No, Tenebrix is cpu mining only via Tenebrix Miner so far (minerd), it's included in the windows pack, linux users can find it on github and build. And it works like a charm - my Tenebrix miner is finding moneys and not afraid of anything !

Lolcust, why are you the one owning the repo and making all the announcement about Tenebrix if it is ArtForz who did most of the work?
Because Art does not mind it and apparently prefers to do interesting code rather than do the announcements and forum stuffs. I do not "appropriate" any achievements tho, and properly follow crediting protocols both in commit comments and in-code comments Lolcust, why are you the one owning the repo and making all the announcement about Tenebrix if it is ArtForz who did most of the work?
Maybe because he is a sock puppet of ArtForz ? No, I'm actually Satoshi. I'm pretending to be feeble at cow-pewter sorcery so that you won't guess that I am Satoshi ~__^ NINJA EDIT: YAY WE HAF POOL! (DON'T FORGET TO UPDATE YOUR MINERD!)

I installed the newest version and the coins disappear, did not try a rescan=1, where should I put this line in?
In the config, pretty much anywhere (like with any other config option) Just shut Tenebrix down, add the line rescan=1 to your config, start Tenebrix again, and watch if the monies reappear.

I just lost my 24 coins when I did a reinstallation , took me a long time to mine. How did you manage to do this ? (sincere question I would like to understand to prevent such events in the future If you overwrote the folder, the wallet of all things should have remained untouched (as the release pack does not have a wallet.dat of its own lol)... Did you try rescan=1 ? Actually i feel the new windows release is completely useless & a mess. Instead of just giving a bat file with flags as last time, it asks questions to select thread, algo....which is not necessary. It does not ask for algo selection, only IP, userpass, scantime and thread number It was done so because I was getting a lot of questions about how to edit bat files and complaints along the lines of "I edited the minerfile thing and now it crashes, there is no god !!!" If interactive bat does not suit your taste, you can turn it into a non-interactive one by erasing all the fluff (except the last line, the one with minerd in it) and changing %variables% to numbers Or maybe I should add an option to execute a pre-set string instead of taking a "mining quiz" ? (I bet that would confuse and befuddle the user who tried editing his minerd tho ) Hope here after all releases have some file name difference from others files. Which file do you mean ?

PM me when its ready so I can mine genesis. After confirming it all works as it should, I'll announce it in its own thread.
Oh, you want to do the generation and config-patching yourself ? He He sorry, and I was crunching and crunching lol. Okey, I'll PM you the thing without any pregen material (I am not yet shutting down the genesis cruncher if we just misunderstood each other lol) so you can deliver the baby yerself. It be tricky, but I will give you a 101 on IRC, kay ?

Don't listen to Lolcust, he created new *coins (sorry... *Gelds) using the best available create-your-own-*coin tool (MultiCoin) and has an interest in its not getting easier for his potential competitors. I would like to see what EskimoBob proposes and more. Anyone with an economic theory, not just programmers, should be able to start a coin with features chosen from off-the-shelf software modules and custom configuration. The way to improvement lies through unfettered experiment. I wrote about this a while back: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=29135.msg444863#msg444863While I understand how certain attitudes can be read into my words, I commented on specific description / implementation proposal in the OP. Now, if you add awesomeness like "plugin economical models and features", it becomes more interesting a concept.

Just to ask, is only minerd allowed? Can we not use CGMiner? And is the GPU protection based on the time between the getwork and the hash submitted? I tried using miner'd 4way algo and every hash got rejected.
Errr, anti-gpu code is the new PoW and currently only minerd is patched to use it. Also, 1337 username you got there, man next to tenebrixd you mean? Tenebrixd is a gui-less daemon, minerd is multi-threaded miner. If I misunderstood you, sorry. Need sleepz

Well, per most recent chat consensus, 2 mils go to faucet(s?), 1.5 mils is distributed as development and promotion budget among Trusted Directors (like Doublec maybe Gavin, maybe Art, maybe some other decent dudes - will make a separate thread for that) and what is left is generously left to me for Our Great Big TBX "coin history removal" service aka laundry.
So no, I will not singlehandendly manage 3 year worth of TBXez.
So you keep 3.5Mio? And now with the "Fund" having it's own money, you should be fine to spend these 3.5Mio slowly? Since I already explained how laundry audit works (and a pair of addresses can be trivially audited automatically) I will just repeat that no, I won't even be able to spend them slowly due to blockexplorer being so public and two laundry buffers being so easy to keep an eye on But hey Spacy, why don't you go to SC forums and ask CH about how his "reimbursment" thingie is audited, and whether an app to automatically audit the entire blockchain for shenanigans is already written ?Because, you know, among thousands of reimbursement transactions to thousands of addresses, hiding shenanigans is much, much easier than when there are only two addresses to monitor ^__^ (at this point I admit that CH is indeed a "geeeeenius", lol)P.S.: Also, where's that crypto article about his PoW that he promised ?
