Wikipedia itself claims to be very reliable

Solar Eclipse: Coincidence that sun and moon seem same size?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1C331w687tI

The Sun is 400 times larger than the Moon, but it is also 400 times further away.  What this means is that, when viewed from the Earth, the Moon is exactly the correct size to perfectly obscure the Sun when they are aligned during a total eclipse. Don't believe me? Check Wikipedia and calculate yourself. In the known universe Earth is the only place where total eclipses occur because of this. Just a coincidence or one of God's miracles?

Think of the number of constellations and stars, and the multiple planets.
Do your calculation on the probability.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: That's it, $440 was the bottom. on: May 24, 2016, 05:03:04 PM
That is nice if that would be the bottom because you can see that the halving is coming towards to us and that is perfect for the future and people with Bitcoin.
But it is really hard to know that you can make some more money with it but we have to see and wait.

There are some who think current levels are a peak, before we descend again.
I am not one of them.  Smiley

I do hope we get back up to ~$470 soon.

When it does take off, $470 will not be a level to hold it back.  Smiley
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will stabilize at the same price that it was at 2 years ago.. $150-$200 on: April 26, 2016, 04:16:58 PM
Its been holding at $400 zone for over a month.. I dont see the $200 marker anytime.

Unless there was some type of serious issue on exchanges going rogue or something.. like how cryptsy did with their alt coin exchange.

Even if we get to $200, there definitely won't be stability.
It will be a mad dump, or people will rush in to get cheap coins.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: April 26, 2016, 12:40:44 AM
If the price doubles every year, the price could be $6000 in 2020. With 100 bitcoin, you will be worth $0.6 million.

Doubling every year is hoping too much.
Somebody offering those returns would be called a ponzi operator.  Tongue

I do not understand why there are many people doing this discussion. when you all know that all religions teach about peace. The world may soon be reaching the end of the day. all human beings fight each other and will only remaining people who love peace.

Try telling that to the fanatics killing the infidels.  Roll Eyes
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm All In - Sold My House! on: March 29, 2016, 01:37:18 AM
I don't remember how much bitcoin was worth back then, so does someone know how much he paid for those 648btc back when he bought them?

I can see they are 270k$ now but I want to know how much profit he made Smiley

Huh? He received those 648BTC for his house. He didn't "pay" anything - he sold his house for BTC.

... When the house closed on Friday I got approximately 648 BTC for my house which is based on prices over the past 6 months when the deal was actively negotiated, legal fees, realtor fees, and a bunch of contract wording that I frankly don't understand. ...

The BTC/USD rate on Bitstamp was around $630 on the Friday the house was sold.

So even if he didn't sell his coins, he is sitting on paper losses of 30+%.
Sad.

Wow, that is so risky, you can loose all of your money you know? But if it will rise by 400$, you will win so much of money

OP sold his house in 2014. He has already witnessed a lot of ups and downs.

that financial move on the op to sell his house for bitcoin im sure he sold before he lost a serious amount.

then again, who knows if the op was already financially okay with it.

im sure if he took the plunge without doing his homework, im sure he can eat the loss.

Maybe he was okay with it. Or maybe he has the stomach to wait it out.
Bitcoin isn't finished yet.  Smiley
