801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korean Government Considers Relaxing Cryptocurrency Regulations on: April 21, 2019, 05:24:26 AM
It's great but it's a little bit late, the third biggest exchange of Korea is already closing...
It is a natural result of a decrease in trading volume.

it can't be the "biggest" exchange and also lose trading volume so much to be forced to close. not to mention that it is all about bad business decisions which led to failure of their platform to get customers and volume to generate them a decent revenue.
in fact that is not the only case and not the only country. in 2017 because of the shitcoin bubble a lot of newbies thought they could make millions just by entering the market, a lot of them went into businesses such as exchanges, fund manager,... or some old businesses run by newbies thought about expanding unreasonably. in the past year or so because of the drops and due to the fact that they were newbies with no knowledge of running a business, they failed.
802  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A city in Canada is letting people pay taxes in Bitcoin on: April 21, 2019, 05:12:34 AM
I think taxes on Bitcoin are absurd.  Cheesy

first of all this is not "taxes on bitcoin", read the news first, this is about paying taxes with bitcoin which means they are starting to see bitcoin for what it really is: a currency.
secondly, taxes are absurd, taxes on bitcoin are just taxes like anything else. if you have a problem with taxation then don't bring bitcoin in it. as a result this place is not the place to discuss them!
803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Southeast Asia’s Cryptocurrency Sector could be targeted by North Korea on: April 21, 2019, 05:00:17 AM
i still don't see how "countries" can benefit from cryptocurrencies specially those under sanctions because it is not like they can hide their trades with using a cryptocurrency and go around the sanction restrictions! it is a country we are talking about not individuals. i think the news sites are again spreading nonsense.
individuals however, will benefit a lot because they can do whatever they like when they use bitcoin and there is nothing that can restrict them.
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best decentralized social network based on Blockchain tech? on: April 18, 2019, 05:43:49 PM
So far, Steem is the pioneer in the decentralized social media space, and it has attracted thousands of people worldwide.

why do you think Steem is the answer here? and more importantly why do you even think Steem is decentralized?
you are talking about the "social media platform" aren't you? in which case Steem is not even a social media platform it is centralized website more like reddit.

you see the token called "steem" may be decentralized and it is obviously based on the blockchain technology but the "platform" called "steem" (which you are looking for as an alternative to centralized Facebook) is neither decentralized nor uses blockchain technology. it is simply a website like Facebook, Reddit,... where you have to first sign up on and whatever posts you make are stored in their centralized database (note that this database is not blockchain!) and they control your account and what you post so it is not decentralized either.

a decentralized social media platform is when you download a wallet, own private keys, make transactions (posts) and broadcast them to the network (other peers) on the P2P network instead of sending it to a server.

Thanks for your sharing. Almost people here are thinking about Steem.  My Steem account banned, that means they can control everything. So Steem isn't decentralized. I don't having experience in tech, is that right?

well as far as the platform goes (which is the only reason why they created this coin in first place) it is fully centralized. as you have experienced it already, they can "ban your account" which is a clear sign of centralized platform.
805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC defeats the purpose of Crypto. Thoughts anyone? on: April 18, 2019, 07:58:49 AM
it is not just about wanting to keep your privacy either. the bigger problem is with the fact that you can not trust any of them (exchanges, ICOs,...) with your identification since in the past a lot of them (even big famous exchanges) have sold their users' identifications on the internet for money, although they tried to keep it silent and deny it.

it doesn't defeat the purpose of cryptocurrencies though. it is centralized services and they are free to do whatever they want. it is our mistake for using them. we should start moving towards more decentralization. for example start using decentralized exchanges instead of Binance, Bittrex, Coinbase,...

807  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are We Witnessing The Start Of Another Bull Run? on: April 18, 2019, 07:21:37 AM
..the sudden increase of Bitcoin price in the market doesn't mean that this is the start of a bull run,for as you can see, there is still a constant downfall of its price..the ups and downs of Bitcoins price still leads us to a hope that soon Bitcoin will reach its peak..if there is a continous needs and demands on Bitcoin, probably bull run might take place..

up and down is not the same as "downfall"! and this IS the start of the bull run.
what we had was pure rise because what you are calling "downfall" was a simple correction. price went from $3900 to $5500 then it was corrected by going down to $4900 and that is considered a "RISE" not a "downfall". and this trend is a clear indication of the end of the bear market and it is showing how trend is changing into a bull run.
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Popularity Soars in Argentina Due to Mass Inflation on: April 18, 2019, 06:55:34 AM
first of all when a country is hit with inflation majority of people don't look to bitcoin, and many who were aware of it are still not going to take the high risk of converting their fiat to bitcoin. there are lots of other options (simplest and most common one is gold) that they use. so you can't say "Argentinians are turning to bitcoin" in general and leave it at that.

secondly if they were doing that then price should have gone up with a big surge which clearly has not.

They are 55th on the google trend :/ Do they use other search engine?

Google trends do NOT indicate anything!!!
809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the Safest and Most Reliable Exchange to Sell Alt Coins ? on: April 18, 2019, 06:48:42 AM
be very careful about all the feedback that you so far got. all of them are correct but something is missing and that is the fact that you can NOT trust any centralized exchange even if it currently is the most reliable and trustworthy exchange. this can easily change in a blinking of an eye and it has happened in the past many times where exchanges that were biggest, safest,... started scamming their users either on a large scale like then running away or small scale like scamming selected members.
if you want to trade then be sure to never leave your coins on a centralized exchange for more than necessary.
810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone + 3 years trading or investing? on: April 17, 2019, 07:17:49 AM
i have been around from 2014 so nearly 5 years and most of that time i have been trading altcoins specially during their pumping times and yes i have been making profit but only because i don't bag hold any altcoin without an exception.
i mean i did that in early years but fortunately for me i soon realized that altcoins are pump and dumps that are not worth anything in the long term and they are best things only when you get involved with them in the short term during their pumps.

if you want to make profit in this market you have to gain experience. start trading for real but with small amount of bitcoin. then slowly you will learn which method suits you best and how you can make the most profit while taking the least amount of risk.
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Cofounder: ETH to Rise 1000x and Become Global Settlement on: April 17, 2019, 06:54:53 AM
Joseph Lubin, the cofounder of Ethereum, believes Ethereum will rise 1000x - implying a price of over $150,000 for ETH -

if you really believe him that an altcoin with lots of issues and with unlimited supply and the current circulating supply of over 100 million can reach $150,000 then you must think that bitcoin that is the only decentralized currency that is working perfectly fine and has limited supply with a circulating supply of 17 million must reach $100,000,000 ($100 million).

that my friend is simply impossible.
in fact they would be lucky if ETH is worth anything more than $20 within 5 years from now.
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin SV gets delisted from Binance and Shapeshift! Kraken might follow. on: April 17, 2019, 06:37:50 AM
these exchanges are correcting a wrong action that they performed a couple of months ago when they initially listed an altcoin that was clearly a scam coin created by a scam group of people which caused a lot of problems in the market and on the network.
it is has already been long overdue for them to delist this shitcoin from their exchanges, all the other big exchanges will soon follow, they are just enjoying the surge in volume as people are dumping it to get out before it crashes down to zero and then delist it.
813  Economy / Speculation / Re: BCHSV delisting| Bitcoin back to $6000 on: April 17, 2019, 06:25:52 AM
history has proven that shitcoins always die.
then shitcoins that abuse the name of bitcoin and try to pretend they are the "real" bitcoin would definitely die harder.
shitcoins that have scammers involved in them will die even harder and faster.
that is the story of BSV which is satisfying all the above.

On November 13 last year, the price was about $ 6,300. Do you expect the price will back to that level next week? Based on the news above only.
the drop was because of the BSV shenanigans but it was because "bitcoin" investors (mainly whales) manipulated the market using that news to their own advantage. so BSV's demise won't be changing anything.
with that said price is already on the rise so with or without BSV we will see $6k+ pretty soon.
814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook is discontinuing P2P payments in Messenger. Is working on a cryptocurre on: April 17, 2019, 06:12:46 AM
At some point these companies will realize that it is economically much more viable to support an open source technology for money transfer than to create something centralized.

why?!
when they make their own centralized token, they have 100% control over it and THEY will get any kind of fee there is to take from people who use their centralized token.
in comparison if they adopt bitcoin there is no fees/benefits in it for them. they can't take fees from people who send each other bitcoin for example!
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is anyone using privacy coins other than Monero (e.g. Zcash or Dash) or is Moner on: April 17, 2019, 06:05:03 AM
Coinmarketcap.com shows that people value Dash and Zcash. What does this have to do with Bitcoin?

that site doesn't show "usage" though, it is only showing the trading volume and that has nothing to do with usage (what OP is asking for although his question is a bit vague).
816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Will DELIST Bitcoin SV! on: April 16, 2019, 11:36:46 AM
After their BCH issues is likely possible that the coin might develop some issues along the way and i think if delighted its going to have some serious major impact on the coin as a whole probably we might be seeing the last day of BSV

unfortunately centralized coins don't go away that easily even when many reject them. BSV is one of the most centralized coins right after BCH and it won't go away just because some exchanges said they are going to delist it and one already did that.
817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Important question to Investors!! on: April 16, 2019, 11:32:44 AM
anything that doesn't have a history which i can analyze is not a good investment in my opinion because the risks of it is extremely high. and in this market it is easy to create worthless crap and sell it to people as "gold" while dumping on them and pulling an exit scam. not to mention that it takes a lot longer to truly analyze things like that compared to an altcoin that has months of history and a good chart that you can analyze.
presales, ICOs, STOs, IEOs,... and all that crap are the same.
818  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whales are back ? on: April 16, 2019, 11:15:29 AM
Volume has been increasing since last week..is thia sign of whales entered into the market?
When we began to see great increasing in volume and funds began flow into cryptocurrencies market in billions of dollars we should know that the whales has entered into the cryptocurrencies market and it is one ways of knowing the right time to invest.

whales aren't multi billionaires with pockets that have no bottom! whales are simply those who own a relatively large stake in that market. for example you can be a whale in an altcoin that has a daily volume of 0.1BTC if you own at least 0.2BTC!
and they have never gone anywhere, it is so naive to think they "come back" only when price rises. actually newbies come back when rises start. whales are already here enjoying the cheaper coins and accumulating while others were panicking.
819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Young africa looks crypto for payment on: April 14, 2019, 06:52:42 AM
Yes, when we say crypto it is meant for the  whole including altcoins. Africa is impressive and becoming a crypto haven.

Exactly what I mean mate thanks for understanding, young african possible to look alternatives aside from bitcoin either ethereum or any coin have vaualables to use as mode of payment.

well using ethereum for a means of payment is like using CPUs to buy groceries, like exchanging a corei3 CPU with a bag of potato!
everything is designed to do a certain job. bitcoin for example is designed to be a currency, ethereum on the other hand is designed to be a token and its usage is for smart contracts. obviously you can use it for payment too but it is not meant for that. not to mention that it can not handle large number of transactions. its scaling is even worse than bitcoin's.
820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why there is so much fuss about decentralized exchanges on: April 14, 2019, 06:43:50 AM
Recently I came across an article about the future of decentralized exchanges and how they are going to transform the centralized exchanges. One thing that clearly mentioned is that decentralized exchanges are secure and impossible (kind of) to hack as no central entity is running/controlling them. However, I heard about the security breach of Bancor and waves DEX. So what's the point of decentralized exchanges if they are still being hacked Huh
Definitely, we will soon see a safe DEX with user-friendly interface and solid speed, which will be a real popular without necessity KYC. Maybe such DEX will be Nash or Binance DEX.
p.s. Waves actually not true DEX.

it will never be Binance DEX because despite what they are calling it, their new platform is FAR from being actually decentralized. and something like that will never succeed or be able to compete with actual decentralized exchanges.
there already are better decentralized exchanges, they are just small and since they are new the projects aren't mature enough so people aren't willing to trust their money with them YET but this won't stay like this forever.
